Reviewed: The RS-X7 "Doomsday" Slingshot Rifle

Jun 04, 2021
Hello friends, about a year and a half ago I

reviewed

the end of the world

slingshot

rifle

made in China and the review came out so bad that I decided not to post it, but now I get a lot of emails from people urging me to try it because I think it's a great product, okay, here goes, don't be disappointed, it's a pretty tough review, enjoy it anyway. Hello and welcome to the Slingshot channel. Today we are reviewing the

doomsday

slingshot

crossbow aka rs-x7 etc. so first. I bought this for 159 euros directly from China on Aliexpress and they delivered it in about four different boxes so it was about two weeks before everything arrived and there were some parts missing so I had to replace some screws etc but everything.

In total, it only took me about two hours to put it together because the manual was on video and it was all in Chinese, but now I realized that there is also documentation in English, but not by the manufacturer, but I think by the British importer. Anyway, there are different variations of this on the market, some with rollers and actually these are rollers here too, so it's actually our slim rollers and it has a magazine for steel balls up to 48 millimeters, so which you can simply place them by just lifting them up. This up and then you can stick them into this hole here and then press them down and you can also fly arrows, but that would be pretty slow right now.

More Interesting Facts About,

This is a pump action crossbow much like one I have made in the past. and it works the same way so there's a lock here so you have to push it down then you can slide it back until the rope engages and then if you push it back a little bit more you can see that then this lever goes push back and One of the steep balls is introduced into the chamber. Now I'm not sure if you can see it well but now it's in the chamber and now all I have to do is draw the bow until it locks and then I can aim and it shoots, yeah it's kind of fun but it has some flaws serious design.

Let me talk about them now first. You have some fun elements like this here. I mean, what is this? Some kind of rail, what are you supposed to put on it? It's just a front handle and it makes it very nervous and uncomfortable to hold, so I will definitely upgrade the rope as well, as you can see it is made for metal and also the clamps are made for metal. Now those were probably more than the eight millimeter steel balls, so they're wasting a lot of energy instead of just using a rope, which is exactly what they should have done.

The biggest design flaw is a very short throttle length because if you take it back you can actually see. that the trigger locks into place here, so in the rearward position, which is fine, the only problem is that the steel ball is here, so you have a lot of dead play before the string hits the ball made of steel and, because it is so heavy, it won. Don't even accelerate it, it will just give it a big kick and then be ejected instead of completely reversing all the energy stored in these rubber bands, so by eliminating this by accelerating the steel ball from right here, they would actually increase the energy of the bow a lot um well there are some other elements that I really don't like like this rear stock I mean look how many screws sticking out etc why not use a very cheap one. m16 as a rear stock and connect it from airsoft or airsoft or whatever, also what I didn't like is that I had to file this flat because they were placed like a rail, there was a mix between a picatinny rail and a dovetail whale 11 millimeters. nothing was holding on to it so I had to file it away and so I can attach a red top sight to it, this is also something they should definitely improve on, this thing is weak, that's my biggest criticism, not sure why the Chinese always they use it.
These steel balls are very small, but as you see, rubber has a limited speed, it is very difficult to get a slingshot crossbow to shoot more than 70 meters per second, so generally what you do is increase the amount of rubber what you can in the crossbow. They usually increase the weight of the projectile, which they decided not to do for some reason, so this is very, very weak, it's about two and a half joules because it shoots only about 50 meters per second and this is a double-ended projectile, so I mean any any type of, even airsoft guns, they have more energy and even the cheapest airgun you can buy, which is probably made in China or Russia or somewhere, it has a lot more power than this one so it's probably cheaper so this is critical if you make a crossbow make it powerful and this is just a toy okay let's test the accuracy this is about 10 meters away and let's shoot that camera hanging from my capture box, okay, turn on the right door and look.
If we can hit too far to the left, there was a hit. Oops! Look how the stock turns towards me and that's a useless piece of equipment. Very far to the right, as you see, the precision is not good at all, that was one hit, one more, okay, almost. one hit, so yes you can hit something with it, but it's a far cry from the accuracy of the cheapest air gun I've ever shot, which was actually a piece of crap, but would still be like a

rifle

in comparison shooter, so what? This is my verdict, well you can probably tell by now that I don't really love this, although with a few tries it could be greatly improved, so just this model here without changing it just using a rope instead of this here would do it.
Better to use top rubber and a little more rubber would also help a lot and of course you'd have to see if we can change something on the rear stock which is probably something I'm going to do just because it's a slingshot and, uh, I can't allowing this to happen, you know, this is useless, otherwise, in any case, if I redesigned it, I would definitely go for thicker balls, at least like 12 millimeters, better. The 15 millimeter steel balls go for a longer acceleration, they go for a different one. locking system completely um of course also improve this and remove this weird looking stock then it might actually be a viable product but this way I don't think I would recommend it to anyone now that I realize there are others This com versions are probably a little better than this one.
I've seen some with huge rollers. I hate rollers because they eat rubber like crazy and you also lose a lot of energy due to friction and mass, so this is also something I would do. do it differently, I would put in like a different fork, a wider fork which makes this whole roller thing superfluous. You know, this is really not necessary. Ideally in a slingshot setup the rubber bands should never touch anything specific that is not in a stretched condition because they are so vulnerable and therefore this could be a little bit, you know, very different if they did, if they made it possible , this could be a lot better if they actually took my advice and improved it, but the way it is no, I don't.
I don't like it I'm sorry anyway I hope you like this because that's all for today ah thank you and bye
