2023

BMW M4 and I have some really cool things to show you. Check it out. We have a great old BMW logo. dealership, as you know, I actually mentioned it in one of the videos. I thought, man, I wish I could get that BMW logo and the manager there said, you know what, come here. I have to show you something and we got the biggest one. There are probably some BMW signs in the world. I have to say that thing is huge, it's as big as my M4, but we're going to work on this car.

We have a side

panel

right there, which I'll show. you guys in a second and we have some very interesting news like look at this we actually have a tune for this car now this is from the original owner. In fact, I contacted him and he said, you know what you want to buy this tune. Like yeah, I'll buy it, I mean, why didn't you sell it to me for a good price? I think it was like 500 dollars, which is actually like $1,000, especially with the connection kit uh here and then he also sent me an extra extra key and this little BMW key that's cool.

More Interesting Facts About,

replacing my smashed 2023 bmw m4 quarter panel...

I didn't know BMW had these looks, it's a digital key card so you can put it in your wallet and you'll always have your key in your BMW which is super awesome and I think there's supposed to be one more thing but I guess He just kept it on his keychain, which I'm not mad about, it's just super awesome that he actually sent me, gave me these keys and everything that I just had for free. to buy that, which is understandable, you know he paid over a thousand dollars, but I bought it for half price and we actually have the gas cap cover.

I guess during the accident he went flying and I guess he recovered it and sent it here. which is pretty awesome and let's go ahead and install this. I think it is somehow like that, let's check it out, color mixing and all. The good thing is that no one stole that thing and then they also sent me the original air boxes on the car which are pretty cool because mine are currently destroyed now let's move on to the main thing is the

quarter

panel

look at this sucker right here this is it

quarter

panel complete and unfortunately it has a little damage, every time I received it from the dealer, they said it was shipped on a UPS truck or something and I guess they dropped it once or twice, they made a little dent here, it which isn't that bad, I mean, it's a little stinky, they took a good amount of money and Honestly, we can just take it out and put a light layer of filler right there, so I'm not too worried about that.

I am always willing to work with the dealership. They did everything they could to get this quarter panel up faster. They said three. to six weeks, it actually came in like two weeks, I think a week and a half, so that's it, so we'll have to fill it in and then we also have everything to replace this quarter panel and the good thing about these quarters. the panels are actually glued on, you see this right here, this is a factory backer board, you guys saw my previous video. I was always making backing plates, but basically they cut out the quarter pounder and put this backing plate on there and then there are these little guys. screws here or they're not screws they're small they're little 10mm nuts and you basically screw on the quarter pounder and glue the quarter pounder on so you don't need to weld which is great and I'm super excited to be ready to replace this quarter penel, we'll have to remove this rear glass and also this side glass, but I have to say that thing is incredibly amazing.
I saw this on the sign and it looks pretty small, but in person. It's huge and I think we'll post it somewhere out there, but before we get into today's video it's sponsored by ecoflow, so if you've never heard of ecoflow, ecoflow basically specializes in portable power stations like this one that's just behind me. You have heard about gas generators. Now there are many drawbacks. Two gas generators. There are many moving parts. They also have to buy gas and always have to use extension cords because they can't keep them inside because of the gas fumes. Here is the Delta 2 Max from ecof flow and it basically solves all those problems in one unit.
Now, this thing here has a powerful power of over 2400 watts. It also has all the USB ports on the front. Verify that you have 99 hours. remaining and it also has these super cute plugs on the back that can power up to 99% of all your appliances. What I like most about the ecoflow Delta 2 max is the fact that you never have to perform maintenance, unlike gas generators where things break down. parts break, you can also fill it with gas every time you have to use it, you can just plug it into the wall or you can get one of the ecoflow solar panels so you can have this charged at all times in case of a natural disaster, so Now it's time to go ahead and try the ecoflow Delta 2 max.
We have it 100%. I have to say this is one of the fastest loads I've ever seen, but let's go ahead and cut this entire quarter panel. off because we have a new one that we need to install and check, we cut out the entire quarter panel and I have to say this thing is an absolute beast. I think it only used 2% energy, which is not bad. All I want to say is that it took me about 10-15 minutes to cut all that out and it turns out this is the reason we are

replacing

the side panel.
Look, that doesn't look very good down there, so not only can you use the Portable Power Station to cut quarter panels like that with a cart grinder, but you can also use this suction cup to charge your Milwaukee batteries or any type of battery you need for power tools, which is great and if you need more power, these things. They're actually modular, so you can plug two of these bad boys together and you'll have over 5,000,000 watts of power, which is crazy how far battery technology has come. Remember 10 or 15 years ago they didn't have anything like this, so this is pretty revolutionary, this thing here can power a refrigerator for over 14 hours.
I mean, that's awesome out of this little box here and it's pretty crazy because my wife's family is actually from Florida and they actually survived a hurricane and the thing is, she was telling me it was a nightmare to get a gasoline generator because all the stores are closed, the gas stations are closed and you have to drive very, very far and this thing here you can literally put it in the garage of your house. closet, just have it plugged in and it's always ready to go and this thing has a battery life of up to 10 years, so what are you waiting for?
Get ready with ecoflow and definitely check out the links below and don't. forget to use my efn vtune promo code to get 5% off all ecoflow products so now that we cut out the entire quarter panel we can see some pretty bad damage on the inside and honestly there's no way to fix any of that. without removing the side panel, so I think that is the best option. Now we are going to move on to the next step, which is that we need to remove both windows. We have the rear windshield and the side window right here because there is no way to replace the side panel without removing it.
We'll also go ahead and remove the S skirt and basically start prepping this car for a new rocker panel. I think we'll start with this little corner window here. I have the nice little one. With the EQ ready, we can go ahead and trim it, so let's go ahead and remove this trim. I'm pretty sure it's like on older BMWs, it just comes off, let's go ahead and remove all the trim, you know, and check it out. We took out the entire quarter panel, all disassembled and ready to cut it completely, as you can see, we took out both windows, we took out the side window, we took out the rear window and I have to say that that one was quite difficult because there is a lot of carbon fiber in the ceiling and you definitely don't want to damage any of that.
This was pretty easy. I literally just stuck the gun in there, cut this right here, cut that and then used my hand knife to cut everything. that, but yeah, we basically have everything stripped down and this is exactly why I didn't want to replace this side panel because it's a lot of work, plus you're cutting and welding the car and it's almost never going to be OEM again, I mean. It'll be pretty close, but you know, it doesn't get any better than Factory, but anyway, now it's time to go ahead and start removing the rest of this quarter panel.
Basically, we're just going to have to polish this edge here, remove this and then there's a couple of Wells down there, so we're going to have to make our little cuts and as you can see in the new quarter panel, they give them quite a bit. here, so I think we'll probably do a splice. here and then somewhere here I just need to see exactly where they recommend doing it, we're definitely not going any higher because you'd have to remove the carbon roof and around here we'll probably go like here so all the body work is hidden by the trim , which is pretty cool, but anyway let's go ahead and get back to work here and check it out.
We have a 5.0 crate motor that we've actually been doing. There's a lot of work on the part side of the business here and we've got a forklift here that we're working on, we've got a new BMW, there's just a lot of cool stuff going on in the shop, but anyway, let's go ahead and start cutting. We took the rest of this side panel off, so we took the whole old panel off the car and I have to say it came out pretty easy, there were a couple of spots that were a little tricky, a little bit of the Bond panel up there. and down there, but we've got everything ready, now it's time to go ahead and start working on this wheelhouse panel right here, we're just going to go ahead and Dolly will pull this out and we'll see if we can fix it.
CU, I mean, replace it. You have to go ahead and basically take apart this whole piece here, pretty sure you'd even have to remove it, you have to remove all this stuff from here and honestly, I don't want to go that deep into the car. So I think we can just hammer and Dolly smooth this all out here and then we're going to try to fix this back panel here because I don't really want to replace it either because it goes all the way to that side. I want to try to keep it as OEM as possible.
I think we can take this out a little bit, straighten it out, maybe a little bit of filler work and it'll be good to go, but I think let's go ahead and start with that wheelhouse. panel and start straightening it out so check it out we did the first new part test fitted to the car and I have to say everything is lined up pretty well honestly it's not the best but it's getting there as you can see there's still a bit. of a gap here, we definitely want to make sure everything is flush before we continue and Hammer Dolly, all of this because we really don't want to stretch that metal too much and it gives us a good idea of how everything is going. to join now it's time to go ahead and test fit the quarter panel.
I think the first thing we're going to do in this quarter panel is we need to make our little cuts. I'm pretty sure we're just going to Clip it here, clip it there. I'm pretty sure that's where the ceiling hits there, so let's trim it here. The same as here. Cut it out and do a little test fit. Oh right, so check it out. Finally we tested the side panel, put on the bumper and taillight. I must say that everything looks good. The only thing that really bothers me are those dents on the side panel that suck, would have been a mark. new side panel with no body filler but that's ok, can't do anything about it now but check it out, all the gaps look good, the bumper fits absolutely perfect, it's obviously still not 100%, we're missing one of the brackets which is back here, but I mean these gaps are pretty good too.
I think we're going to have to pull it back a little bit, I probably think I overtook this area a little bit, so we may have to push it back, which shouldn't be a big problem because, as you can see, this little Gap It's a little too big and this one is a little smaller, but that will be when we're getting ready to solder this and I'm not sure if we're going to solder it or do what the factory procedure actually recommends. They recommend riveting it instead of welding it. Basically, I would just put the Bond panel everywhere and then the rivets everywhere, which I don't have. riveter you have to use, but the goon squad has one, so maybe we'll just borrow one from them, but yeah, it's going pretty good, this Gap is pretty good too, look it's a little bigger here than what is.
Down there it's definitely going to take a little more time and energy to get it right. It's pretty crazy all the polishing and cutting we did on this car. We were actually using the centralEcoflow electric uh with that grinder over there. I have to say it. It works pretty well, but man, this is a lot more work than I really wanted to do on this BMW and it sucks every time I buy a new car. I always think, you know what I should, just destroy it a little bit. on the front, you know, rebuild it in a week or two, but then it always ends up with something like this right here, where I'm

replacing

half the damn car, but it's pretty impressive content and we're getting somewhere with this car and I think I think we're going to weld it in the next episode.
I really want to give you an update that I took a lot of time off. I don't think I have posted in 20 days, but I went to Florida, took a vacation, came back, finished the red Ferrari, finished a lot of things in the store, which is really nice, It is always good to take it. a little break from having a camera in my face all day, but it's good to be back, let's keep working to finish this M4. I mean I think we just need a couple more weeks on it and it should be ready for some paint, there really isn't much left except some body work, some welding and that's it, and then we'll need a complete set of tires for this.
I think we're going to go with Apex Racing, I think it'll probably be silver. but anyway guys, if you all enjoyed today's video, go ahead and hit the like button. Also follow us on Instagram at vune, thanks for watching.
