Recoil & Ergonomics Explained! - Escape From Tarkov Beginners Guide!

Feb 23, 2020
What's up guys? I'm Jessica Zam, welcome back to another Escape from Tarkov video. In this video we'll do a sort of overview of

recoil

and

ergonomics

in Escape from Tarkov. You know, if you care about how they work in the game like most of my videos, this isn't meant to be some crazy deep dive where we discuss outright meta attachments and that sort of thing, there are a lot of amazing content creators who have created all kinds of

guide

s for all kinds of weapons and how to max out and stuff like that, this is more for new players to the game who maybe just don't understand how they work or keep hearing other experienced players talk about

recoil

or recoil and what to use and what not to use so I hope this helps.

Please clarify a bit that I stream Escape from Tarkov a few days a week on Twitch. All my links will be below and I would love for you to come. We have an amazing community, we love answering questions and helping. players and just having a good time, but with all that out of the way, let's go ahead and dig in, so let's dig into recoil and

ergonomics

and

escape

from Tarkov, so I have two weapons here, both are applied, this one on the left It's generally considered a meta m4 at this point. I could definitely change some things, but it's basically a metaphor and on the right we have a standard stock that we just bought from the merchant.

More Interesting Facts About,

How is the m4 coming? You can see the ergonomics here and you can see the weakness, well,

escape

from Tarkov here. They have separated the recoil into vertical and horizontal. I will say that vertical recoil is the number that people typically look at to judge gun recoil, horizontal recoil in this game. at least my experience isn't that crazy even if not equipped but the initial burst of vertical recoil is really where you'll see and see the difference and you'll have a lot of those problems on weapons that don't have great recoil and then on the part higher, here we have it, so obviously the recoil reduces the recoil of the weapon and the lower here, this 38 will reduce that vertical recoil jump, a lot of ergonomics, on the other hand, that affects.

A few different things mainly affect how fast you can aim down sights or 80s, so how snappy that interaction is. A lot of the really big stuff, you know, DMR is like an m1 and it's heavy and thick, it can seem like it takes forever to get up. and get a visual image of an enemy while they are actually equipped and can be very agile or any weapon with longer range and the second thing in the effects is how much stamina is drained while using ATS because when you run you are losing. stamina, but also when you aim down you are losing stamina and if you aim sideways long enough and your stamina completely disappears, your character starts moving and shaking a lot, which can be quite annoying now that these stats regress and Ergonomics It is affected by the accessories and all the different components of the exhaust photography of the weapons.

It has the most complex and deep weapon modification system I have ever seen in a game. I don't know if a deeper one in any game. As you can see, there are tons of different things we could add more attachments to, lasers, flashlights and things like that, even this weapon is absolutely crazy and can be overwhelming. The difference between these two weapons almost all the components were replaced except the lower receiver the upper receiver the gas block the buffer tube the stock the optics the iron sights the front grip all those things can be replaced and don't think there is, already you know, I mean, there's only two ways to use standard and absolutely medicated weapons You know there's a lot in the middle here, but this is just to show you the difference between these weapons and the Ergo and recoil differences, but basically you can double click in any of them and see the gas block added to ergo here. average recoil reduction from the foregrip and on an Ergo you know that normally your argo comes from things like iron sights or pistol grip, this has 18 organs ah mcc and then the recoil will often come from the compensator or the foregrip, as I could get. a foregrip that has 4% recoil instead of two and stuff like that, but a lot of them overlap and there are a lot of them that give both organ amin and recoil buffs and you can play with that as you tease the weapons and as you like. like to modify them using the flea market is a great way to sort them by pistol grips that can fit on an m4 if you are using one and start looking around and find something like a price. to the performance ratio of what you want to do, so we'll go into an offline reign here in a minute, but you know, the meta recoil, you know, get something like 38, you know, I don't know how much lower I could get that and that. it's probably the lowest you can get with any fully automatic weapon in this Tarkov game at least right now and it can be pretty crazy, I mean it can be an absolute laser beam, especially if you upgrade some skills that affect that too, so The recoil control skill and assault rifle ability also affect Tarkov's recoil and escape, so as you level up those skills will help you, although your weapon stats will remain the same, the ability of your PMC to handle recoil will improve, so when all those things combine it can be some pretty crazy ergonomics, it's something I feel like a lot of people sleep on sometimes, when you have high enough ergonomics you can get to a point where the one where not only do you not lose stamina while doing AD, but you actually regain stamina while doing AD and the repercussions of that are pretty crazy when you think that if you're running away, you can sit back and rest, your characters gain stamina.
Wow, you're a TS entry and you're scanning the area that can be absolutely huge and you know that if you do that, if you're scanning an area, you're aiming down sights and you've been doing that for a long time if you get ambushed or shot at, so you can shoot immediately. get up and run and don't worry about whether you've completely deleted it, you understand. I mean, if you shot and escaped from Tarkov, then you felt like you were glazed over and you've been looking for an enemy and then someone as a surprise. you and you try to get up and run away and you have absolutely no resistance left, not only that, as we talked about the ability to aim down sights quickly, especially in CQB-like scenarios when you are in close combat and can shoot. and getting a visual as soon as possible can be incredibly useful now, another similar thing is how abilities can affect recoil.
Another thing that affects ergonomics is the weight of the gun, so if you see here the three point three two kilograms three. point four, we can move on to a much larger weapon here, you know, it weighs almost twice that, almost seven kilograms, so that will be something that also influences so that you can try to get a weapon light with the same amount of recoil as possible and you can see that, so if we take these weapons to the hideout we can start to see the difference between, you know, really high recoil and really low recoil, so we'll put this on full auto and start with the type of m4 standard I'm not going to move the mouse at all I'm just going to use the left click and that's it so you can see the vertical recoil is pretty crazy we can do it again on a farther target and it's just horrible so we switched to the m4 equipped target type and you'll see the difference here, there was still a vertical group, but it kind of corrected itself, it went back down and we stayed on target basically the entire time.
The weather is obviously going to be a little bit worse, but we're not shooting at the ceiling here, so that's the difference. Another note here, let me back up so we can reload our magazines here. Another thing that You can see that the knockback effect is the height of your character, so if we look here and aim for the center of mass standing, you know we start right here in the center, we end at his neck and if we just crouch our character and we aim. you know here, you can see how much smaller that extension was, you know our initial shot was down there, but it just went up a little bit instead of the initial center of mass and then it ended up around the neck or the shoulder and that evens out. crazier if you go prone you can't be prone in the hideout, but if you go prone and you're shooting at an enemy, it significantly reduces the recoil of the gun and I remember in a previous video that Veritas did, he posed, you know What I?
I mean it's a great alternative to spending a lot of money because of course you can combine those things that you can get better in the recoil slot and then you can lie face down and try to kill all your enemies and it will be a laser beam , but if you are a new player and can't get these absolute meta props, then what you can do is crouch and go prone whenever possible to get a big boost to your knockback so we can also take a look at the organ. I mind when I point down, you know, we can see that it's not incredibly long, the m4 comes with pretty decent or out of the gate, but you can see how much more agile it is with almost double the Ergo, so if I change the camera. here and I run around the hideout for a bit and use up some of my stamina once I get back here and on the bottom left you can see as I ATS my stamina actually starts to increase again and I'm just standing there and I'm gaining stamina, I'm not even crouching, I'm just standing completely and I'm gaining that stamina and if we switch to a bigger gun, let's replace this m4 with this big old SAS and do the same thing as us.
Run and lose some stamina. If I come in here, the opposite will happen as soon as I'm 80 years old. I'm going to start losing that stamina and you can see that, so it could be something incredibly powerful. You can throw a 4x or you know, the type of optics on an m4 or any weapon and eight is any weapon that you can get really high ergo and you know turn it on semi auto and you can basically have a DMR where you never run out of stamina so those Things are pretty crazy so that's basically it, those are the main differences between organ ah mcc and go back and escape from

tarkov

.
You know, I'll let you decide how you want to play the game and how you want to use these mechanics. I'll say as a quick side note, um, it can often be the second best or third best in the slot, you know, the pistol grips or the stocks or any of the accessories will often have almost the same stats as the ones on metal and they will be significantly cheaper, you know. probably the absolute metaforegrip has 4% recoil reduction and for less than half the cost you can get one with 3% recoil reduction, so you should know what I mean, there are more important things than escaping from Tarkov, so you already know the recoil and ergonomics of a weapon map, the knowledge of good positioning and good aim, you will always know what killed the players, so many times you can get away with weapons very close to the meta or simply not even close to meta, but really efficient without having to.
Spend all the money on the parts, so that's basically how recoil and ergonomics work and escape from Tarkov. That's how they affect your PMC when you're in a raid, like I said. I'll let you choose what you think. it's fun and what style of play I definitely encourage you to try everything you know what I mean like there's a lot out there try different builds try to have fun with it if you want to play with the meta go for it but if not can. afford those things, there are definitely efficient kits available, we could talk all day about top-notch accessories, but I hope this has answered some of those questions and helped you understand these mechanics a little more.
