The rapper has been making moves for a few years now, but he really blew up with the tracks he and his rival Yungeen Ace released earlier this year. They have been fighting since 2017, but came to the world's attention after Ace released the wild track Who I Smoke, which had disrespectful comments about Foolio's dead brother and his friends. Foolio returned with the song When I See You Remix, where he also dissed Ace's dead friends and brother, and they have been at each other's throats ever since. But long before the fight with Yungeen Ace, Foolio got into a fight with another team in Jacksonville, which led to him being shot in the ninth grade.
In December 2014, a 14-year-old boy named Devron Crowden, also known as Big Baby, was shot and killed while waiting for the school bus. He and Foolio went to school together and were known to belong to rival gangs. The high school Foolio attended was in his opps neighborhood, so he was already outnumbered. After Big Baby was killed, rumors circulated that he was somehow involved. Although he told everyone that it was not his success, he was still young and dumb at that time. So instead of staying out of it, Foolio started criticizing Big Baby to show his haters that he wasn't intimidated.
He nearly got into a fight with three different people before getting on the bus to go home. When he got off the bus, he bent down to an area of the cut to roll up some grass. About five or ten minutes later, someone ran up and started shooting at him. He received a blow to the hip and even moved out of his position. He then began to crawl to avoid being shot again and crawled to a house where a woman was sitting on the porch. Foolio called her and told her that he had been shot, but she wanted nothing to do with it.
Instead of helping, she said she didn't care about her and told him to get out of her yard. So he played dead until the shooters left. He ended up being taken to the hospital and questioned by police about Big Baby's murder. They questioned him pretty harshly, but since he was on his way to school when Big Baby was killed, he was cleared of any involvement. After recovering, he decided not to go back to school, because he was too objective and school was nothing but problems. He doesn't even have anything to do with the murder, but he was shot anyway.
So after that, he was on the streets full time and decided to become a rapper. But Jacksonville is hot, and rappers like Foolio and Spottem Gottem aren't the only ones caught slipping for opportunities. The next rapper lost his two best friends and his brother in a car that happened after they left a party. Yungeen Ace Yungeen Ace is probably the most famous rapper out of Jacksonville right now. Although everyone is in his own lane, Ace was the first to break out and got endorsements from big names in the industry. But before he made it big in the rap game, Ace was the victim of a drive-by shooting that killed his sister and two close friends and nearly killed him as well.
In June 2018, Ace, his brother Quan Quan, and their 23- and 4-year-old friends went out to eat at a steakhouse called Wasabi. They were celebrating their 18th birthday of 23 and Quan Quan had just had a birthday too. After leaving the restaurant, they stopped at a traffic light and another car pulled up next to them and started shooting. The car was riddled with bullets. Ace was hit 8 times but survived. Turns out he was the lucky one because the other three died. 23 and 4 were two of his closest friends and Quan Quan was his closest brother in age. So the defeat hit Ace hard.
To make matters worse, the owner of a local gun store would see Ace's photo on the news after the shooting and call the Crime Stopper hotline. He told them that he saw Ace in his store earlier that day. He didn't do anything else, but he took one of the weapons and played with it. Ace was a convicted felon after being arrested for a robbery in 2017. During the robbery, stray bullets entered another apartment and nearly hit a 12-month-old child. Therefore, he was not allowed to have a gun even if he was just playing with it. After reviewing the security tape, police arrested Ace at the hospital, as he was still recovering from his gunshot wound and mourning the loss of his brother and friends.
No one was arrested for the shooting, but MANY people think it was retaliation for the death of Zion Brown. Brown was Foolio's cousin. He was killed in his home after someone threw a brick through a sliding glass door and fired shots into the living room, hitting Zion and his two sisters. The girls survived, but Zion did not survive. The police arrested a guy named Deontrae Thomas, also known as Trae Shorty, who had connections to Yungeen Ace. He was also a suspect in the robbery that turned Ace into a criminal and was still on the run from the police when he was arrested for the murder of Zion Brown.
This is what really started the feud between ATK and KTA and they have been going back and forth ever since. Foolio mentions the shooting in many of his songs, including When I See You Remix, where he printed a banner from news coverage of the shooting to mock 23- and 4-year-old Quan Quan. But Jacksonville rappers aren't the only ones to receive it. caught missing. The next rapper was shot 35 times, but lived to tell the story. Yung Baby Yung Baby is a rapper from Trenton, New Jersey. He grew up on the east side of the city and at age 12 was arrested for the first time for a robbery.
He would end up spending the next few years in and out of jail on gun possession charges. As a teenager, he said he lost about eight of his friends to gun violence, which is why he had to stay tied up. But on October 24, 2019, his officers surprised him at a gas station and shot him 35 times. The night he was shot, his father took him to the studio but then left him at his friend's house. They were relaxing and decided to go to the gas station, which was a popular place in his neighborhood. He was arguing with the gas station owner for about 30 minutes.
He says he heard a group of ambulances heading south because there was another shooting. He then decided it was time to leave. As he was leaving, he saw a guy standing over him with a gun, while two other shooters ran behind him. First they shot the guy who ran the gas station, who fell to the ground. Yung Baby started to run, but he started to feel the bullets hitting his back and legs. But he couldn't give up, so he kept running. He didn't know what was happening and the adrenaline took over. A bullet hit his foot, so he jumped to try to regain his balance, but he fell.
As he fell, he could still hear gunshots. He tried to crawl away, but two of the shooters were already standing next to him, while the third shooter was trying to grab his friends. He covered his head with his arm and fired six more shots. When he moved his arm, they shot him twice in the face. Then they shot him a few more times in the chest while yelling “B**** I told you so, I told you so.” After that, they ran away laughing, while Yung Baby bled out. He tried to move away, but couldn't move his legs.
He later discovered that he was shot 16 times in the legs. A lady who worked at the gas station came out and tried to help. Yung Baby told him to call her mom, but she couldn't really talk because she lost like three teeth when they shot her in the face. He lay there for about 10 or 15 minutes before the police and an ambulance finally arrived and rushed him to the hospital. He thought he was done just because of the amount of blood he had already lost. He says he blacked out for a minute and saw his dead friend and told him it wasn't time to leave.
He was in so much pain that paramedics had to anesthetize him, which left him in a coma for two weeks. When he woke up, he couldn't remember what happened. His mother told him that they shot him and that he had about 45 holes and that they shot him a total of 35 times. But the crazy thing is that he was only in the hospital for about 22 days and then he went to rehab for two or three weeks. He was still in a lot of pain, but the bullets didn't hit anything vital. He finally made a full recovery. So someone is looking out for Yung Baby, because not even 50 Cent was shot 35 times and just recovered.
But if you thought that was crazy, one of his own fans shot the next rapper while he was riding in an Uber. Rico Reckless Rico Reckless is a rapper from Chicago, who first broke out with the song Hit Em Up, where he took out almost all the animated rappers in the city. He is supposedly from the Black P Stones and has feuded with many other popular rappers in Chicago, including FBG Duck and G Herbo. But it wasn't another rapper who surprised Rico, but he was actually a fan. In an interview with No Jumper, he broke down what happened.
He says he was leaving a gas station to get into an Uber. Some guys who saw him in the store tried to take a photo with him. While he was taking the photo, one of the guys in the group said “damn, do you wear that chain in real life? I wish I had made my move,” practically telling Rico that he would have tried to rob him. Rico responds by telling him to do something right now, and the guy backs off and says he was just playing. The guy still wanted a photo, but Rico shut him down and told him he wasn't going to take any more photos.
His friend told him to hurry up, so they returned to the Uber. But once they left, the guys started shooting. Rico was shot in the back after the entire back window was smashed. The Uber driver started screaming and called the police. He took Rico to the hospital and police questioned him about the shooting. He told them that he didn't know the shooter and that he was probably random. Because in Chicago, it's not just rappers you have to worry about, random thugs at the gas station are just as dangerous. Rico says he doesn't know who did it, but he doesn't even care because if they really had meat they would have blown his head off.
But instead, he was simply brushed on the back and he was back on the streets shortly after it happened.
