In December 2014, a 14-year-old boy named Devron Crowden, also known as Big Baby, was shot and killed while waiting for the school bus. In June 2018, Ace, his brother Quan Quan, and their 23- and 4-year-old friends went out to eat at a steakhouse called Wasabi. They were celebrating their 18th birthday of 23 and Quan Quan had just had a birthday too. After leaving the restaurant, they stopped at a traffic light and another car pulled up next to them and started shooting. The car was riddled with bullets. Ace was hit 8 times but survived. Turns out he was the lucky one because the other three died. 23 and 4 were two of his closest friends and Quan Quan was his closest brother in age. So the defeat hit Ace hard.

To make matters worse, the owner of a local gun store would see Ace's photo on the news after the shooting and call the Crime Stopper hotline. He told them that he saw Ace in his store earlier that day. He didn't do anything else, but he took one of the weapons and played with it. Ace was a convicted felon after being arrested for a robbery in 2017. During the robbery, stray bullets entered another apartment and nearly hit a 12-month-old child. After reviewing the security tape, police arrested Ace at the hospital, as he was still recovering from his gunshot wound and mourning the loss of his brother and friends.

He was killed in his home after someone threw a brick through a sliding glass door and fired shots into the living room, hitting Zion and his two sisters. He was in so much pain that paramedics had to anesthetize him, which left him in a coma for two weeks. When he woke up, he couldn't remember what happened. His mother told him that they shot him and that he had about 45 holes and that they shot him a total of 35 times. But the crazy thing is that he was only in the hospital for about 22 days and then he went to rehab for two or three weeks. He was still in a lot of pain, but the bullets didn't hit anything vital. The Uber driver started screaming and called the police. He took Rico to the hospital and police questioned him about the shooting. He told them that he didn't know the shooter and that he was probably random. Because in Chicago, it's not just rappers you have to worry about, random thugs at the gas station are just as dangerous. Rico says he doesn't know who did it, but he doesn't even care because if they really had meat they would have blown his head off.
