Presoak Time Comparison

Jun 05, 2021
Hi, this is a sherry and half pine farm and I've had a lot of questions about why I only soak the migraine for 30 minutes, so since I'm doing an R&D project with an 18 pan in my living room, I thought This will be a good

time

to show a side by side

comparison

, so I took three different lots of grain. I soaked one for 24 hours. I soaked one for 12 hours and then I drained it and let it sit on top of the refrigerator and then I soaked one for 30 minutes, which is about what I normally soak it for 15 to 30 minutes, I drained it and rinsed it at about 12 hours, like this Let's take a look at the 24 hour batch, so if you look here you can see that the beans are very fat and plump but there are almost no little tails sprouting, so you'll be able to see a little better what's missing when we go to look at the next batches, but even though it is soaked. the water and it turned nice and plump, it doesn't seem like it's gushing much, so here's the next one.

This soaked for 12 hours, then it was drained and left to sit on top of the refrigerator for the rest of the 24 hours and as you can see there are a bunch of little white tails that are going to turn into sprouts, there is a bean in there. which I'm just going to leave so one soaked at 12 hours and this last one soaked for 30 minutes that's about how long I soaked mine normally and as you can see I have a lot of little white sprouts so we're going to follow this for the next six days and see what the difference really is, so that's day one of the six days. cycle okay so this is the second day it's basically 24 hours after we take them out put them in the tray and this is the 24 hour tray here as you can see we're finally starting to get some little sprouts but yeah you look at the 12 hour tray look how much further along these sprouts are and here's the 30 minute mark for sure going and I think they're even a little bit further along than the 12 hour tray there's a lot of sprouts in there so I'm going to show you this one more

time

so you can compare them, so this is the 24 hour tray. 24 hours, this one soaked for 12 hours and then drained and let it sit and this one soaked for 30 minutes and then rinsed again at 12 hours and that's day one so we'll see you again tomorrow.

Well, this is 48 hours after the green was put in the tray for our soaking experiment and here is our 24 hour tray, so plenty of roots, all good, and this is it. the 12 hour trail so it was soaked for 12 hours and then drained as you can see it is much more advanced than the one that was soaked for 24 hours it has quite a few not only roots but also little shoots emerging and then this is the one that soaked for 30 minutes was drained and then rinsed again at 12 hours, it even has more sprouts than the 12 hour soaking tray, so this is 48 hours after they were placed in stores and see you tomorrow , OK?

It's day three of our pre-germination soaking time experiment and I'm going to show you what's going on here, so here's our 24 hour tray. It has some pretty good buds. You can see that it's a little bit warmer in the back because the oven or warmers are right behind there, so the sprouts tend to grow a little faster in the back of the tray. If I wasn't so lazy I would probably rotate the trays, but in the end it all evens out, so here are the 12-hour, so these seeds were soaked for 12 hours and then drained and sat out and as you can see, the sprouts they're a lot taller, that's good, it's 12 hours and then here's the one that soaked for 30 minutes, drained and then we rinsed at 12 hours and we have much taller and thicker sprouts on this one, so that's okay, I'll let you compare them and that's day three so I'll see you tomorrow so here we are on day four of our soaking.

I experiment with time and here is our 24 hour tray so let's take a look at it as you can see it's warmer in the back so it's a little bit higher in the back. Okay, and here's the 12 hour tray, so you're still looking. in much higher you can see how much higher it is, it goes straight and then this is the 30 minute tre, it soaked for 30 minutes, drained and then rinsed at 12 hours, you can see it's quite high, so there's a day for See you tomorrow okay here we are on day 5 and we actually have two more days because this is the start of day five so tomorrow will be the start of day six and then we'll feed the next morning so which here is the 24 Hour Tray and as you can see here is how tall it is so the water dripped out but as a decent mat this is the one that was soaked for 12 hours and drained and then left to sit for another 12 hours, it's quite a bit taller still than the 24 hour tray and it also has a pretty decent rope mat, maybe a little thicker than the other one, not too many seeds on the bottom, okay, and then this one it's the 30 minute tray it's got a nice ripper be some more seeds on the bottom okay so it's day five and see you tomorrow okay this is the start of day six in our soaking time experiment and this will be fed tomorrow morning, so let's take a look, here's our 24 hour tray. soaked for a full 24 hours and then put on the tray here is our 12 hour tray, this was it for 12 hours, then drained and here is our 30 minute tray, this was soaked for 30 minutes, drained, rinsed again at 12 hours and then let it sit, so Take a look, although the 24 hour is catching up, it is still significantly shorter than the other two, the 12 hour and the 30 minute, so let's take a look so that We probably have one more day.
I'll film them tomorrow before I feed them but until then I'll see you tomorrow okay so this is the last day of our soak time test. This is ready to feed today and here is our 24 hour tray soaked for 20 the full 24 hours, it may be a little shorter than the other two but for the most part they are pretty well cut so our 12 hours in our 30 minute tray. I can't see any difference. Look, you can see there's a nice mat on all of them, so I guess what this means. Soaking time is a pretty flexible thing so do what works for you, like I said 24 hours may be a little shorter than the others but not enough to really affect things so this has been our seed soaking test and keep an eye out for our other videos thanks
