Apr 18, 2024
Jimmy was parking or getting in the corner, where does he stand with his knee and how limiting did you find that knee in your decisions regarding the offense? Yeah, you know he's, you know he's putting himself out there and I really appreciate him, you know, for that competitive Spirit U, he really got stiff with him in the second half, you know, he was still able to move a little bit, uh, in the second quarter after that, but then as the second half went on. in um you know, we started to limit it a little bit more just the movement, but we'll see, uh, we have no idea, you know, now we'll see when we get back to Miami, um and then you know, look, are these these types of games uh you just value the opportunity to compete in these types of games uh it's disappointing it's frustrating it's all the uh excitement you know when you come up short um you know everyone that played and everyone that was on the bench put everything into it uh we just couldn't, You know, finish it.

It looked like we had a chance to win three and then, I think Jimmy stopped, he might have had a chance to pick us up, he put us up by five, and then bang, bang. you know three point game offensive rebound uh and then you know they took control um in those moments down the stretch from there um but we're going to do this the hard way, that has to be the way, you know right now we're going to rest , treat ourselves, get together, get ready for Friday and again embrace these competitive games, it will be competitive in front of our home fans, and then, let's bring an amazing game on Friday Night Lights um and do this the hard way , you know, that's the deal right now you guys were so disruptive in the first half in that zone defense, what did you do?

You don't do it in the second half, they finished us we were still disruptive in the second half, you know, Patum made a couple of threes, you know, they hit an open three, uh, against our man, you know, to start the third quarter, that gave. give it some life at the beginning of the third quarter, you know, and you have to give them credit for that, but we had, you know, a 12-point lead and then I have to call the first timeout, you know that doesn't decide. the game there, but that would have been, you know, maybe different if we could get up, take that thing to 18 um and then, you know, we, uh, you know, we had great moments there, you know, at the end of the third start from the fourth uh and like I said we took the lead uh with Tyler three up you know three and you feel like we're going to find a way, we usually find a way and um, they just made some bigger plays a lot of them came out of nowhere the two rebounds offensive the three point play uh even batum's offensive rebound uh advice in um you know that was you know something you know if he doesn't understand that then then his offensive possessions may look a little a little bit different how much was what he did.

Rocking the bam team with early fouls and having to move on to something else so early for nothing, I mean you gotta do it, that's the cost of doing business, you know, against a guy like embiid bam was still able to do it. plays all his minutes after that point, you know, yo, you have a double-digit lead and you have a three-point lead, you know, down the stretch, we just have to find a way to finish those games and you know, We'll probably all have some things, you know, we'll be reflecting and thinking about, you know, on this flight home, okay, you know, that's the competitive side in all of us, but when we land in Miami, we're all going to focus on resting, get treatment, get ready for an incredible game, Friday night in front of our fans, and then we'll go from there, where were things with Duncan?
postgame interview erik spoelstra
We noticed the back wrap he had. I didn't get into the game, what was your thought process? Handle that every day that he does it, he's going to progress, and that's really what it was, we don't have a lot of time to accelerate, so he hasn't had, you know, those opportunities, but you know, we'll see how he feels when we get to Miami. . I think each step will feel better and we'll take it from there if he's playable tonight. in your in your opinion, uh, you know, these are difficult decisions. Not really, I can't answer that right now, um, but he's definitely making progress, that's what's encouraging, okay, thank you.
