What's really great about wool versus microfiber will

the paint cooler during the

polishing

cycle, which is really important to us.

I'll talk about that in a future video, the full griot compound with a mcguire cutting wheel is really kind of an incredible winner, especially on really difficult, clear codes. I did some work not long ago for one of my clients. Yes, I used this professionally. I used a microfiber pad, but Griot's full compound on a very hard clear coat on a Chevy Corvette. I was able in one step to get the paint out of some pretty nasty flaws and it had a tremendous shine after which I didn't have to polish. It is quite versatile. I love it.

It's a great product for beginners, now I'm going to talk about the foam pads on the market, it doesn't matter which ones you like, maybe you like Lake Country, maybe you like polish and shine, I'll show you the American one. You don't have to buy pads, but I'm just going to use them as a demonstration. The yellow pad looks a lot like the color code, it looks a lot like the chemicals, they have the yellow pad, which is their most aggressive cut. When it comes to a foam pad, the Global American Yellow Pad with Griot Full Compound can correct some really nice defects and finish very well, it's up to you whether you have to polish or not, after that, it's a really nice effect for the most paints out there, so we have the right orange pad, they all have these grays, they have chemical ones, the guys have the shimmer and shimmer, this is American, this is a medium cut for beginners who want to do one step In most painting systems as a beginner if they are part of the team. up, full compound of grays with the orange pad, you can go around your car once, step back and fuck off, I think I'm a pro, guess what guys, you're almost there, it really is that

simple

, stop to listen to us professionals, since beginners stop. listening to us we will confuse you we will tell you this is better than that I don't want you to get trapped in that rat race that we are creating as professionals I won't do you any favors as a professional on YouTube I want to bring you here and cut and paint I want to get your feet wet I want to cut your teeth and I want to do it in the best way possible that gives you the best experience and makes you move there is a black finish pad this paint or on this panel Scott why do you have a black finish pad?
Don't you use a finishing polish? I'll tell you a trick with the full Griot compound. The compound inside this bottle can be used on a black finishing pad with no pressure on machine speed 4 and go over lightly after going over the panel, you can get a really nice glossy shine, it can be like a double whammy for you , it can be your compound and your polishing is totally up to you, you don't even have to do it. Go out and get another polish if you don't want it, if you don't want it, what I'm going to do folks is just show my beginners that I'm going to work in a small 18 by 18 area that I'm going to use the global American aggressive foam pad the im going to put on my grios machine the griot machine is great for beginners this is the grio 6 inch orbital polisher i happen to have a 5 inch backing plate that's great we'll do it We'll talk about that another time but you can buy these things at Autozone.
Excellent for a beginner. You can get the compound and polish or the compound and machine at Autozone. If you don't have the money for this, go to the loading dock and get a small one. Get the six inch dual action polisher, an amazing bang for your buck, you will get the same results now. What I'm going to do for my beginners. I want you to stir the compound. Always make sure to shake it if it's been sitting for a while, okay, I'm going to take this yellow pad and I'm going to put in four pea-sized droplets for beginners.
I want you to put four pea-sized drops. This product has very good lubrication. You can do eight. section passes with nine section passes, it will help you complete the polishing cycle, but all I want my beginners to do is work in an 18 by 18 area, do not work in a two by two area, this could be too big for the beginner,

keep

the polisher inside your body you want to control the polisher you don't want the polisher to control you well, I'm working on a junkyard hood I'm not going to worry about the court, but normally you would wear the cord over the shoulder, what I'm going to do is spread the product on speed two and then I'll go to speed five.
I'll talk to you in a second. Now I have the product extended on speed two. I'm going to work on that little area now I'm going to go to speed five. A lot of people ask me, Scott, as a beginner, how much pressure should I put on the machine? I'm going to make it really

simple

for you guys, use, use 10. pounds of pressure use 15 pounds of pressure for a beginner I want you to think about this it's going to be really silly when you walk into a hotel room and wonder how soft the pillow is and you put pressure on the pillow, that's the I want you to apply the same amount of pressure to this polisher as a beginner.
You don't have to put in 10 pounds. 15 pounds. Don't think about it too much, just a light pressure. Now, what I'm going to do on speed 5 with light pressure like I do. I'm checking the pillow at the hotel, how silly is it that right now with speed five I'm going to do five section passes, I can go left to right all the way down and then I can do left to right all the way back up. You can do cross hatch patterns whatever you want, just make sure you have an even distribution of the product in that 18 by 18 area and that you've hit all areas of the panel.
We tell you to make cross hatch patterns from left to right and from top to bottom. just so we can guarantee you that you've covered all the areas in that 18 by 18 area, but here I go, four to five section passes, light pressure, speed five, so lots of lubrication during the polishing cycles in one pass of five sections. You'll notice I went from left to right and did a little bit down and then got even coverage all over that 18 by 18 area, very little to no powder with this product, so it's great for a beginner, you won't chase your son.
Trying to clean up after yourself while correcting paint, always make sure that when you are running the buffer you keep the pad as flat as possible on the paint surface. Very little pressure as a beginner. Okay, now what I'm going to do. is to clean this product, one of the reasons I like this product for beginners is not only because it is very easy to use on the paint surface with lots of lubrication and some really good results, but it is easy to clean the panel . You're just going to come in here, lightly polish this paint and you've removed that compound, it's very easy, you're not going to be sitting here forever trying to fight that paint compound, very nice user experience, okay, that goes to give.
You have amazing results for a beginner, yes, maybe in the future you want to get into the jazz car, maybe you want to get into all these other fancy things that all those professionals argue about, but don't think about it too much, don't listen to us, we are alone. Making it worse for you now, if you wanted to, if you were to look at the paint and say, boy, I want a little more shine, you can take a black finishing pad, put it on your dual action polisher, right, you're going to put three or four. points on this pad and then when you come in here, you're going to work on that same 18 by 18 area, touch your product, but now you want to run speed four, you don't need speed five, now you don't need any pressure. just work with that polish and force those four sections into that 18 by 18 area and then clean the panel and you'll be amazed at what you can do as a beginner, as a professional detailer, and other professionals.
Detailers on YouTube will wet sand, the panel will amaze you by removing wet sanding marks, wet sanding marks for beginners, even for some of you more advanced users or maybe you adults, go, that's awesome, eliminated 1500 grit, 2000 grit, let me tell you something. When it comes to removing wet sanding marks, it's not that difficult. Wet sanding marks have a very uniform pattern. It is a very uniform striping pattern. They are very flat on the surface. Removing wet sanding marks does not give a true picture of what is happening. Compound or polish can do it, it can give you an indicator of what it can do, but there are things on panels like deep ridge compression scratches, straight lines, sharp scratches, the fact that compound can remove sanding marks 1500 or 2000 grit does not mean it will eliminate. some of those deeper flaws in the paint there's no reason to surprise a beginner I just want you to come in here and cut your teeth these pads you pick the ones you like as you go you get more comfortable you can start doing it with more aggressive pads with this compound friends it is a great way for the beginner to learn how to correct paint, you are not going to burn the clear coat, follow those easy steps, the only way you are going to burn the clear coat is if you had an aggressive pad and you would sit in one area for minutes at a time none of you would do it, most of you beginners are afraid to even come in here and just lightly walk around the painting, just get it out of your head, it's okay, I promise. you're not going to burn through the clear coat, especially with a foam pad and a compound like griot's complete compound, but it really can be that simple people, it's okay, I love all my beginners, I love all my end of warriors week, Scott, are you confusing us? only car, is it sonax?
Is it the last car? which one do I need to know, don't listen to us, we're making it worse, just follow these simple instructions with this compound, get going and then I want to have a conversation with you in a couple of months and you'll be gone Scott, I think I'm ready for something cooler , we all have to start somewhere, I was afraid as a beginner, someone helped me through it, I want to help you, I love you all.
