Are you ever curious what I'm using on my face? I leave everything in the description box below. Jay. I want to talk about Mitrice Richardson and she was born on April 30, 1985. Her parents were Latice Sutton and Michael Richardson. Latisse and Michael. They met when they were juniors at their high school and then Latisse became pregnant when she was entering her senior year of high school, she was determined to keep good grades and simply succeed in life and had also moved in with her grandmother Mildred . and she was considered more of a mother of luches than her grandmother, so she was very close to her when

mitrice

was born. her great-grandmother Mildred would take care of Mitrice so that Latisse and Michael could go to school and then when they graduated, Mildred would also take care of Mitrice so that both parents could work.

So Michael Mitrice, her father, well, he was working at a fast food restaurant and then he ended up starting to sell trucks. It was a way to make easy money, it was fast, it was much more. than what he made at the fast food restaurant and he just lived paycheck to paycheck, so he said, "Okay, I'll tell you that selling drugs is not what he wanted to do, but it's what he did, unfortunately, he just got out of it." control and he ended up getting caught and he ended up locked up. He went to jail and when he was locked up, Mitrice was 40 years old, so she was so young that he was sentenced to eight years in state prison and then in 1993, he was released, but.
Latisse, his girlfriend, mitigates his mother, she didn't want to wait for him while he was in jail. I mean, she had a family to take care of and she just had to move on with her life, he was in prison, she started dating others. people and ended up meeting a guy named Larry Sutton and then the two would end up getting married and Larry would become Patrice's stepfather so at that time they lived in Los Angeles and then in In 1993, the riots in Los Angeles were happening and if you were In Los Angeles that's how it was, I mean, I wasn't there so I don't know, but from what I've seen, there was increasing violence and then there was a lot of it.
Due to racial tensions, Latisse and Larry made the decision to move to Covina, which is a suburb of Los Angeles. It doesn't seem like it's much different, but it's a lot quieter there. I mean, I don't know what. It's like it doesn't matter now, then it was more like in the suburbs, there were many families, it was more peaceful and it gave Mitrice the opportunity to build a good future, get good results in school and not be surrounded by all the violence of the city that was happening at the time, so from a young age it was obvious that Mitrice was a pretty smart cookie, her mother would say that in an interview no, she used to tell Mitrice all the time that you can do whatever you want in this life, but you have to make sure you do it.
She always gave one hundred percent and was able to achieve whatever her heart desired and then throughout school, Mitrice always got super high grades. You would say that Mitrice got a little bored during school because it was almost too easy for her. I wish she had that. problem at school oh i look crazy in high school she joined the cheerleading team and would continue well into high school where she participated in multiple cheerleading competitions. She also loved to dance. She loved to dance. She was someone that everyone loved to be around because she was. She was very happy and it was contagious and she just was or sounded like a great person in high school, although her interest in doing outdoor activities began to change as if she simply had no interest in it, like before she knew that she would play.
He liked outdoor sports or going out with his family and going for a walk in the garden with his grandmother. His great-grandmother Mitrice simply stopped getting involved in that as if she had no interest in going outside. She started saying that she didn't like being around. and she didn't want to get dirty, so she stayed inside, she did crossword puzzles, she watched TV, she danced, she wrote in her journal, so when Mitrice got her driver's license, I mean, like any teenager, it's the best day. of your life and then you decided not to walk anywhere, never to walk again.
I'm just driving, so according to her mother's matrices, her mother fell in love with psychology and learned how the mind works, why people did certain things and she was fascinated in general with psychology, so after high school and Mitrice went to Cal State Fullerton and was about 20 miles south of Covina instead of commuting back and forth every day. Maria's mother suggested that Mitrice move in with her great-grandmother. Mildred wasn't far from the school, she lived there alone so she was more than happy for someone to come live with her because yeah, you don't want to be alone all the time so Mitrice was more than happy to stay with her.
Her great-grandmother jumped right into college life, she was just living it up, so Mitrice was the first member of the family to attend college and, just like she did in high school, she was doing well and He quickly reached the top he obtained. she made the Dean's List and then she also found a job working at the Santa Fe Springs grocery shipping company. Mitrice stood out as one of the best students and decided that she wanted to pursue a career in psychology and was determined to achieve it and then in 2008, Mitrice graduated. Cal State Fullerton and she was looking at graduate schools to get her master's degree in psychology and she also took a job dancing at Deborah's, which was a gay and lesbian nightclub in Long Beach.
She may still be there but

mitrice

used the stage name hazel and she printed business cards and on the business card she had her photo, obviously her name and mitrice are the real father Michael, he didn't approve of her working at this club night and warned him that this could cause him a lot of trouble or ruin him. She got in trouble, but Mitrice said she wasn't a stripper, she was just entertainment, you know, like a go-go dancer and if you're a stripper there's nothing wrong with that either, so Mitrice tried to explain this to her, but already you know, dad.
I just don't get it and then while dancing Mitrice decided to just try modeling so she started going to job interviews and sketchy areas and her friends were really worried that she might end up in a really bad situation and you know, you don't know her . hang out with these people in shady places, maybe go to a public place, but she wanted to get into modeling so during this time Mitrice met a girl named Vanessa and I guess it's hard to say because some people said they were dating and others They said that Mitrice was really interested in Vanessa, but they weren't dating because Vanessa technically had a girlfriend.
There was a bit of a glove triangle and Mitrice really liked this girl, Vanessa, and she wanted to pursue her, but Nessa didn't have the same feelings. So also during this time Mitrice had attended a party at the Playboy Mansion and was a guest model. The friends could see that there was something different about Mitrice. She seemed more stressed and irritated and they think it was because of the relationship she was going through. We continued with Vanessa again. . I'm not one hundred percent sure what was going on, but she was in the photo. Finally Vanessa told Mitrice that she needed to back off or at least wasn't interested in her and that's when her friends really noticed her.
A drastic change in the way Mitrice had started to act, she just seemed very withdrawn. Mitrice liked to call and text her friends all the time and she just stopped doing that completely and if she did it it would be like weird text messages that made no sense, so friends. I noticed likes on her Facebook and her myspace because myspace still existed at that time. I think they were constantly updated with random thoughts and statements at all hours of the day. One of the posts she had posted was a quote: Have you ever woken up at 7?
I'm crying on a Saturday because now that you see the light you see all the people lost in the darkness and I quote. I mean, I've seen posts like this before. I guess how I got you, I don't know, but it was different for something Mitrice would be posting, so as the summer of 2009 was coming to an end, her behavior became more erratic and a little hard to track, she started to drift further away. from friends and family in text messages. Mitrice wouldn't make any sense like her. sentences her sentences would be disjointed and didn't seem to be connected to any particular topic her explanations for her behavior made even less sense on one occasion matrixes mother latisse had sent her a text message asking her daughter like hey what's going on ?
Mitrice texted back that it's a quote I'm writing a book because he told me I can be anything I want, you told me I was Miss America, you told me I was America's next top model, now do you know what What do I want to be when I grow up? up miss mother nature because the fake miss america joke so im trying to find my way to michelle obama to see if she will talk to mr. Obama about creating my position within the White House, so this worries her mother, at least because this is not something that Mitrice says is happening, what is happening is what her mother is realizing Mind you, mitrice really doesn't have an explanation. she's giving him the runaround or texting him like that where she doesn't make much sense of what's going on, you know, and then, on September 16, it started like any normal last day, like they always do in these stories.
Early that morning, Latisse received some text messages from her daughter that again didn't make much sense, and according to a coworker, she had shown up at the shipping company that morning and was in a very good mood. It seemed normal, but the way Mitrice left during her lunch break, she didn't come back, she hadn't told anyone where she was going or that she wouldn't be back, and then every Wednesday night, Mitrice and her great-grandmother would sit together and have dinner but on this day Mitrice when she got home explained that she had a change of plans she told her grandmother her great-grandmother that the ocean was calling her she needed to go to the beach so she told her great-grandmother hey I'll skip dinner just for tonight.
I drove to Malibu on the scenic Pacific Coast Highway and, as far as Mildred knew, everything seemed fine to Mildred's great-grandmother, there was nothing worrying about her behavior or her plans, she really didn't have any. I think Mitrice left the house around 5 p.m. and we head towards Malibu at least we think sometime between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Patrice's aunt, her name was Florence, came home and then she saw that all over the lawn and on the front door steps there were a bunch of business cards everywhere and she picked them up and looked and saw that it was Mitrice.
Her business cards were scattered everywhere and she thought well Oh, like Mitrice must have walked by here and dropped all of these.why Mitrice went there no one anyone really knows Lauren, the aunt, dis

ed a strange note that was like hidden under the windshield wiper. her husband's of ours was handwritten in mitrice but it made no sense there was a smiley face drawn on the page along with the statement quote Yo Uncle Johnny Jimmy no one knows on the right side of the letter was written a black women scorned quote and a quilt was born as an aunt, I wasn't quite sure what to do with that, I mean what would she do?
I don't know, I don't know, I don't know what she would do, she would be fine, thank you, she didn't. She really overthinks it. She would go on to say that she felt in the pit of her stomach that something was wrong, something wasn't right and if you ever have that feeling you need to listen to it, which is why it is believed that Mitrice had arrived in Malibu around 7:00 p.m. she liked to stop to watch the sunset and then she got back in her car and started driving down the Pacific Coast Highway, which is a really beautiful area, you get a nice view of the ocean and it's really pretty, so as she drives comes across this restaurant.
It's called Geoffrey's or Geoffrey's I think it's Geoffrey's or Geoffrey's and let me tell you this restaurant is ab, she's fine, it's like one of those places where bread is $50. I have seen it. Never. She had never been there before. She doesn't have a dollar menu, so Malibu isn't really a place where Mitrice, you know, has to spend much of her time. She sees this place, Joffrey's, and she decides that she wants to go in and enjoy the view and then. get some good food too so she pulls into the parking lot and the parking is valet only.
The male valet explained to her that he was going to park another car and he was going to come back and get Matt Reese's car and he moved it so he says just wait five minutes so she agreed so as soon as the valet showed up She went with another customer's car, she got out of her car and then got into the valet's car as if it was another car he had parked or it was his car. Right at the valet's car, when the valet came back, now take Matt Reese's car, she saw Mitrice was in this other car and said what are you doing?
Her response was quote, it's subliminal and quote, so the valets like what they are. you were doing it and then she explained to Haggai that she needed to avenge Michael Jackson's death and then she just sat in the car looking through all the CDs that were in this car, it wasn't her car, so then she handed him Mitrice. The valet boy gave his car keys and then he turned to the valet boy and asked if Vanessa is here and the valet boy said I don't know who the hell Vanessa is Mitrice warned him to be careful with a woman with tattooed arms Mitrice walks As she enters the restaurant, she is just browsing and the valet tells the hostess to keep an eye on Mitrice because she was acting very strange, so Mitrice had asked for a table for one and now she is taken to the main dining room.
Again, this place is super fancy, I mean, people don't come dressed up and they like tuxedos and stuff, but you know, it's a little nicer, so Mitrice stood out a little bit because she was wearing a Bob Marley t-shirt and then he had a long sleeve shirt underneath he had fans a pink alligator belt to hold up his jeans he also had a rastafarian hat so he ordered a cocktail and then he also ordered a Kobe steak like $65 not that it matters but it's like giving yourself a whim, but While she was waiting for her food to come out, she noticed that a nice table was nearby and it had a group of people, it was like seven different people, so she walks up to this table and invites herself to her party or the people she They were sitting. said mitrice was just making really strange comments, she told this table that she was from another planet, that her mother was planet earth, so at Reese's the food comes out, so she goes back to her table and eats for $65, more It's okay to be a life.
She changed status, so once Mitrice finished eating, she returned to the table of people she was talking to. Once they finished eating, they paid the bill and then they were getting ready to leave and I guess Mitrice got up. and she started to leave with them, she told the people at the table that she was going to Hawaii soon and that she would contact them when she arrived, then Mitrice was following the seven individuals out of the restaurant because they were in the hunting field, leave it, so Mitrice. It was like following them, but the manager stopped her and said: Where are you going?
You haven't paid your bill yet and her bill was like $90 for the two things he ordered so the manager is like you. I haven't paid, Mitrice was saying her bill was paid, the people at the table paid it and the manager said no, the manager asked Mitrice, well they didn't pay it, you have to pay us, how are you? ? I'm going to pay for this and Mitrice responded by saying: I'm broke, what are we going to do? Mitrice also told the manager that she was from Mars, she emptied her pockets to show that she had no money, so since she couldn't pay the Bill and her strange behavior, the manager told the hostess to call the

police

while on the phone. phone with the

police

.
I'm the hostess explained to her what was going on and the hostess explained to her that, like this customer, she is on drugs or she might have some similar mental issues. Then the police were on their way, so the hostess allowed Mitrice to make a phone call and the only phone number Mitrice seemed to remember was Mildred's number. Her great-grandmother called her great-grandmother. Mildred and Mildred offered to give him her credit card information. over the phone so she could pay the bill, but unfortunately the restaurant couldn't accept her credit card number over the phone, she had to be there in person to sign the receipt, which I think is really stupid because I feel like I've been in places that accepted credit card payments over the phone, but I don't know, it was like 9 p.m. now. at night and three officers came to Geoffrey's and the officers asked Mitrice some questions like what was going on, trying to see where she was mentally and Mitrice said her wallet was in her car and she could pay for it because her wallet was just in The officers then began to search his car to re

cover

his wallet, but when they were searching his car they realized that it was a mess, there were things everywhere, papers, garbage everywhere, they couldn't find his wallet, but they found it. they made.
They found his life and also found a small amount of marijuana, it wasn't enough to warrant an arrest, he could have easily been dealt with with a ticket for a misdemeanor, so Mitrice was given a field sobriety test and ended up passing like he wasn't. under the influence of nothing when they couldn't locate his wallet, that's when they asked the manager, what do you want with Joe? Do you want to let her go or do you want to press charges and the owner decided she wanted to? file charges against Mitrice, so at this point Mitrice is 24 years old.
I don't know if I ever mentioned that, but they handcuffed her and put her in the back of the patrol car and took her to the sheriff's station, so I think. that the restaurant was on the phone with Marissa's great-grandmother, Mildred, and then they told Mildred that Mitrice was going to the police station. Mildred called Matrice's mother and told her what was going on, then Matt Reese's mother called the police station and Ella had asked at the police station if Mitrice was going to be released tonight or tomorrow, like what was going to happen because I was going to drive to the police station to pick up Mitrice, but if they weren't going to release her, I didn't want to. bother to drive there to pick her up because she had a ten year old daughter at home who was still sleeping, so it will be inconvenient to drive there so she won't even be released by the police.
The station informed her that they will discharge her tomorrow and we will make sure that Mitrice calls you and informs you what is happening and all that when Teresa's mother is okay, well, you know, I will wait for the call at least like me. I don't have to drive there tonight and Matt Reese's mom would later say, "Oh yeah, I was kind of glad to know that she was safe with us, like locked up all night, instead of her just being there." out there because I really was out there.” She had the character for her to act like that and she wouldn't want her on the street because who knows what would happen, so her mother was not happy that she had gotten into trouble.
I had peace of mind knowing that Mitrice would be somewhere safe, so once May Reese arrived, they put her in a cell and were charging her with possession of marijuana and defrauding an innkeeper, which I thought was strange because I thought she didn't have enough marijuana to be charged, but that's what it was. being accused and for some strange reason when they arrested Mitrice, the deputy who was like filing the documents and all that, they didn't make any mention or notes about the behavior of matricies, as if she was acting and saying strange things and normally you would take note of this. there was nothing written in the reports to suggest that there were any doubts about her mental state at the time;
The reason for this has been intensely debated and the general consensus seems to believe that this was done to avoid additional paperwork or because the MP felt that Mitrice was fine, if she had been listed as possibly mentally unstable, she could have been kept under closer observation. or they could have even taken her down for a 72-hour psychological hold and evaluation according to the call log book, Mitrice had placed four different people. phone calls and he was seen as a bit strange because he made four phone calls but he wasn't sure who they were - one of them wasn't - his great-grandmother, which was the only phone number he seemed to remember and unfortunately, of course, like that evening. normally in jail there is a pay phone and anyone who has been arrested can make a phone call normally when they make these phone calls they are recorded but of course the pay phone was out of service that day or night so Mitrice used the phone on his desk like it was just a normal phone and it wasn't recorded recorded no one knows who he called several agents who were interviewed all heard Mitrice talking on the phone they don't know who she was talking to or what they can't remember what exactly she was saying, but you know she was on the phone and talking whether she was talking to anyone or not she could have even been talking to herself pretending she was on the phone but I guess we'll never really know.
Meanwhile at home, Mitrice is a mother, she was like getting ready for bed, she was waiting to see if Mitrice would call her, but she never finished, so it's okay, I'll get up early and then go out to find him. everything arranged and see what is happening that was her plan her mother had fallen asleep then on September 17 at 5:20 a.m. Latisse matricies mother calls us at the sheriff station and asked how much it would cost to bail her daughter out or like how it works. They actually informed her that Mitrice had been released during the suspicious night, so when she finds out that Mitrice had been released, she says: What is it?
He asked why they had released Mitrice, as you told me she wasn't really going to be still this morning. The person who spoke to her mother on the phone said that well, she was released because she did not have a similar record and her charges were not large enough to justify her detention; It would have been against department policy to keep her overnight, so why did they bring her in? she I don't know again I don't know anything they said on the phone they told Mitrice okay she could you could stay in the cell if you want I'm like that you have a place to stay tonight and Mitrice rejected them and then they also offered her to stay in the lobby and wait and Mitrice also said no no thanks so they told Maurices mom on the phone this like she doesn't want to stay we can't make her when they asked her about Mitrice a state of mind.
The Sheriff's Department said she showed no signs of mental illness, she was not intoxicated, she was fine, they cite that she is an adult and they cite that they are not wrong about that, that they can't force her to stay if she doesn't want to. to stay then mitrice had been released at 12:15 a. m. She didn't have a car she didn't have any money her wallet was in her her car she didn't have any money she didn't have a phone or food anything at about 12:15 in the morning they released her my what are you supposed to do, you can't get anywhere at 12:50 in the morning, a young woman like, geez, yeah, she'll be fine, her car was actually at an impound center that was like 15 miles away, so it's not like she was flipping clothes and even if She got there, they were most likely closed, so what was she supposed to do?
At no point did the officers or anyone offer her a ride, so again, what was she supposed to do? What did they think she was going to happen? Then, Latisse mitrices her mother. She's calling everyone, she's calling everyone to see if they've heard from Mitrice, but she'sbra two of their shirts were missing socks underwear shoes they were all missing they were not located like in the area at all the police said the animals must have gotten to them so what they are saying is the animals now know how strip people naked, they better be careful next time they're around.
When camping, a coyote might try to take your clothes. I'm joking because why wouldn't they mess with the body if it's been almost a year? It just doesn't make any sense, so Latisse Patrice's mother decided to hire a coroner. anthropologist, so take a look at the photographs that were taken when they found Maria's body and remember that they were taking them with a cell phone because they couldn't get proper photos of the scene and all that when they originally found the traces of the body in the that was his skull. completely detached and resting face down on her upper torso, five of her neck bones were not recovered, making it hard to believe her body was still intact, which was what the sheriff and lieutenants said when they found her body, everything was intact, but they were lying.
We don't know why you are lying and then the forensic anthropologist had many questions about the way his remains were discovered. In an interview, they explained to him that the left arm was bent and was in a strange position, something that would not happen if you died of the way she had supposedly died, he knew it could not be created by the environmental conditions where the body was found, there was nothing present to hold her arm in a gravity-defying position and he says the initial assumption should have been a homicide and the scene should have been treated as such, for example, Mitrice's hair was not examined at all, some hair was still attached to her skull, but other hairs were found nearby, there were some reports that said it was like her hair and there are other reports that said it was like someone else's hair, but an earring was also found tangled in her hair and was not attached to her body, but it was an earring that Mitrice was not reported to be wearing at the time. that he disappeared and that he was not examined at all and then Mitrice remains and the clothing was not examined for fibers or hairs related to the possible suspicion that the surrounding area was not checked for blood, he noticed that his teeth had a pinkish hue , which could suggest strangulation, but the neck bones are needed to determine if it was a strangulation, but they were never recovered, no one knows where the neck bones are So, in July 2011, Patrice's body was exhumed, he was taken to the LA Sheriff's Department crime lab for examination, the coroner came to the same conclusion, which was an undetermined cause of death and there were no signs of homicide, so I don't know. upset the family as it should Latisse and my target both filed separate lawsuits against the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department which was settled and they both received a good amount of money.
The Sheriff's Department does not and will not admit that they did anything. wrongdoing on their part, so the family approached the California attorney general's office to ask them to review the Sheriff's Department's handling of the case in 2016. They stated that they were going to begin a criminal investigation in connection with the case. and after a year-long investigation, concluded that there was not enough evidence to support a criminal prosecution for destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence, so the family was trying to sue the Sheriff's Department for not doing the right thing. Well, I mean, originally they were trying to hide the fact that you had Security footage they let Mitrice out even though several people said Mitrice was acting strange or seemed mentally ill, they let her go without her phone wallet , so yeah, I think they should be in trouble for that, come on, all of this could have been avoided, so He later explained that, unfortunately, even if they had discovered evidence to prosecute the people involved, like the sheriff's station, there would have been There was little they could do because the statute of limitations expired in 2014.
I think the family honestly wanted closure and for people to be held accountable, like they deserve, which is why there are a lot of people who believe there are answers to what happened to Mitrice. and they are out there, but someone has to know the truth and hopefully someone will speak up and come forward and say what happened. Now there are only theories floating around about what happened. There are many theories. There are some theories that say the police department was trying to cover up some kind of larger involvement with something, but I couldn't find an answer. to what they were hiding, but that was one theory, another theory is that Mitrice suffered from mental illness, went down into that Canyon and died and then another theory is that the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department played a role in the death Some people believe that letting her go was pure negligence, while others believe that the investigation itself may have been a massive cover-up to cover up criminal acts on the part of the officers and then the final theory suggests that her death was a homicide and that Mitrice could have crossed paths with someone. who offered her a ride and then she was killed or when she approached the dark area of the Canyon someone maybe saw her or found her or were there too and then she was killed if Mitrice had simply been in the jail or in the office or if she was taken to home, this story would be completely different, the family hopes that they will somehow find a way to get the answers and get justice for their daughter and yes, that is Mitrice's story, about how shitty that police department is and how No I have no responsibility for what they did.
If you know anything about what happened to Matt Reese, I'll leave it in the description box below, maybe where you can reach out and talk. I should probably do that with all the stories I talked about. I'll be fine, good call anyway, so this story is strange, like what happened to Mitrice. Nobody knows the place where she was found. It is very difficult to get to that area. I feel like there's no way she would have just wandered there and what if she did. there why the animals weren't there and how she was still in such like, quote, good condition when she was, she's been there for almost a year, I don't know where the neighbors looked at it most intensely.
It seems like the police department didn't even want to deal with it, so I'd still love to hear her theories about what they think may have happened. Thank you all so much for hanging out with me today. I hope you have a very good day. make decisions, please be safe and I never know how to end this because it's always like a pretty sad story and then I say goodbye, but other than that, I'll see you very soon.
