PICKING EACH CLUB'S PLAYER OF THE SEASON!

Apr 21, 2024
Today I am going to choose the

player

of the

season

for

each

Premier League

club

. I posted a tweet earlier in the week, you may have seen it asking about your

club

's

player

of the

season

. I wanted to go over the suggestions and narrow them down. to three options per club, that's what I've done in this beautifully designed board. I spent a lot of time on this, probably too much. We're going to go over the top three suggestions by club, then we'll analyze them and choose who I think should be that club's player of the season.
picking each club s player of the season
We'll start alphabetically and then with Arsenal, the top three suggestions. Interestingly, Ben White and Gabrielle. I was thinking about Sakka Martin Erard now, but many Arsenal fans wanted him to speak. about Ben White and Gabrielle Declan Rice, although for me it's the choice between these three guys. I think the fact that it came in for 5 million and not a single soul on this planet is talking about that price tells me it's been out of this world for eight Progressives. passes this season compared to last season's six, defensive production off the scale, but he also marks it with goals. 11 goal involvements in the league is nothing to be sniffed at in some important moments for him too if we talk about Ben White I think he is in the To be honest the ball skills have gone up another level this season.

More Interesting Facts About,

picking each club s player of the season...

I think progressive passes. Pass completion. He is in the top 10% of European full-backs. The overlapping runs add a totally different dynamic to Arsenal's wide play, but I think second for me and pushing Rice very close. This is hard. Gabrielle has had an incredible season. I think she has been the second best centre-back in the league for me, behind Virgil Van Djk. I think she's had a better season than William Celba and it's strange to think, isn't it? he did not start any of the first four games of the season. Michel Etta was moving towards a system that did not necessarily include Gabrielle Timber was being used at left back.

We saw Thomas playing as a right back, reversing that midfielder role. who quickly walked out the door Gabrielle returned. I think she started every game since then in the league. He has been an aerial monster. Dro Master. Excellent in both boxes. Fantastic ground cover, but for me I still think Rice has been the most important player. Arsenal this season, three suggestions for Villa, we have Watkins Martinez and John Mcin, there were actually a lot of suggestions but I have narrowed it down to these three. Emmy Martinz has had perhaps his best season in a villaire, the best post shot, expected goals numbers of any goalkeeper in the league he is still probably the best in Europe or, if not, one of the best defenders of high centers and the type of penalty.
picking each club s player of the season
Dominant goalkeepers. I love the way he plays. Maybe he's not the best with the ball at his feet and I'm sure that's the case. something Emry is working on for UNI, but as an out-and-out goalkeeper as the leader of a back line, Martinez is incredible, although Ole Watkins will be my choice. I don't think you can laugh at 19 goals and 10 assists, it's legitimate what we're talking about. Palmer is on most goals, most assists. Watkins is actually on it, even more so, you know, Watkins is one goal behind Palmer, but it's the most assists of any player in the Premier League PR League, which people don't talk about enough with Oly Watkins about their ability to provide.
Other players in the game, his assist numbers are outrageous and most impressive to me, you know, Palmer, a lot of penalty numbers. He's had an incredible season. Palmer, I'm not going to take advantage of it. Watkins has not scored a penalty this season. He doesn't take Villa's. penalty, so that's 19 goals, 10 assists without a single penalty, over 3000 minutes, he's got double figures in goals every season since Exodus City 2016 and when I used to watch him at St James Park ex City he basically played as a centre. Halfway there, let's go to Bournemouth, where the three most talked about names were Sanii uh Seeno and Zabani.
Now we've covered Zaban a lot in recent weeks. Absolutely exceptional 21-year-old central defender, one of the signings of the season for me, but a bit like Seeno. that he has had an incredible season, nine participations in goals and 20 games. I think with Bournemouth he hasn't been at the level of Dom Salanki, who I think has had the most outstanding season of his professional career and it's crazy to think that he probably won. Don't go to the Euros, you know, 17 goals, three assists this season, his non-penalty expected goals numbers have doubled from last season. I think Iola has had a huge influence on his excellent season.
If you look at his previous numbers in the Premier League, there are no goals in his "The first season, I think in 10 odd games, then three goals, then six goals and a huge leap forward this season because classically his Championship numbers have been outstanding and I think a conversation started to develop about whether he's a Tier 2 forward, well, no, we." We're talking about a striker with 17 Premier League goals who can come out and defend intimidatingly, as we saw against Man United at the weekend. An exceptional season. Brenford hasn't had his best season. I mean, we could talk about Brian Burm, who has 10 goal involvements in 17 starts.
We could talk about Wiissa, who I think has similar numbers, maybe nine goal involvements, but I think it's been Norgard, you know he's the captain. . The club's defensive performance is still one of the best in the league at times, you know. five tackles and interceptions per game, but blocks punts, wins all his defensively outstanding aerial Jews, his non-penalties XG has gone up this season because he has been coming into the Box as a leader on the field for Brenford in a difficult season. I'm on Christian's side. Norgard, in this case at Brighton, we had three suggestions: Pedro, who obviously scored a lot of goals, was very influential in that Europa League campaign, although a lot of them were pennies and then two standouts for me, Jan Paul Van Heck and Pascal Gross, now I think that if we were talking about Van Heck, we would be saying that he improved, definitely the most improved, one of Brighton's standout players this season.
You know, a couple of seasons ago we saw him win. I think he might have been the first Looney to win Blackburn. Player of the Year Blackburn fans might correct me on that, but an excellent defensive season there last season perhaps a small bet on Period this season has voted Reigns as probably Brighton's best centre-back. I think he's had a better season than Lewis Mate because hey look, he started 25 Premier League games this season. I think he is the second-most player in the club and his ability on the ball has Shawn. He really has improved under Roberto Derer and these are numbers we would see.
Lewis mate, you know, we know how influential he is in that style of play. I think Van Heck has improved not only with the ball, his defensive numbers continue to increase. This again looks like a great bargain for Brighton, isn't it 2 million? Me, my player of the season for Brighton, their most influential player according to Roberto Derer, again, even at 32, is Pascal Gross. I don't think this guy's ability has been talked about enough. He's definitely one of the best players outside of the big six. he is so complete he looks at the stat bomb radar, he is beautiful, this is a player whose game is obviously super complete, but he is really contributing in forward areas this season.
I think he has 10 assists in the Premier League, which is the joint most. In the league he has the third most key passes this season. I think he is behind Martin Erard and Bruno Fernández. He has taken the third-most shots creating action. I think he has the most starts at Brighton. I think from the beginning of last season he could have done it. He scored the third-most goal-scoring midfielder in the Premier League of any midfielder. He is never wrong. He has lost regularity. He starts every game. Player of the season. Let's go to Burnley. Three suggestions.
This is difficult, isn't it? We have talked about that. Dar Rocha was recently suggested to me a lot. I'm going to decide on Sander Berger. I think in 29 starts this season he's probably been the most consistent player of his. Well, let's move on to Chelsea, where three suggestions came in for Palmer Gusto and Connor Gallagher. I think he has had a good season, although sometimes Chelsea fans criticize him for his ability on the ball. Clearly, there are holes in his game, but his work rate and improvement improve. I think we need to talk about this season.
Bad Gusto has done it. amazing job replacing Reese James, I don't think he's on Reese James' level yet, but he's very young, though, I mean, he's obviously Cole Palmer, right? Any player in Europe has 38 goal involvements in all competitions, he has more goal involvements than Florian Vers and, obviously, Floran Vers has had the season of his life Leverkus has won the league, but Palmer is doing it in a team of Chelsey really shabby. Palace fans in my answers. they were struggling I'll be honest with you to name a player of the season they didn't know it was a divided opinion Jefferson LMA got some shouting Adam Warton got some shouting even though he only joined the club in January I think that speaks volumes and Michael Alisa and everyone knows how much I love Adam Warton.
I spoke about him last week and he will become a future England international. I don't think he's going to be at Palace for long. He has a special talent, but I don't think you can pick a player of the season he joined in January. Michael Alis, only played 13 games. I don't think that's enough, so I'm going to go with Jefferson Lurmer, who started 27 games this season. 2,500 minutes of football I think is the fourth most minutes of any player on a team. He has been super versatile, extremely consistent and there is no talking about his ability to play multiple different roles and positions.
You know, we saw him operate as a left-sided central defender at Anfield at the weekend and keep a clean sheet in a back three that was made up of him, Jocky Manderson, who had a great game, and Nathaniel Klein, like Lura, He's done everything, he's been very consistent, he hasn't really put a foot wrong since I arrived from Bournemouth on that free transfer, excellent player at Everton, we had an idea, we've got Mikeno, who's had a surprisingly good season there and I think maybe Everton fans were suggesting it because no one really talks about him, uh, James T. kovski.
There too and they have the fifth best defensive record in the league in terms of expected goals against. I know they were beaten by Chelsea at the weekend, but I think he'll probably have to go to Branway, who is still only 21, to make that big move. There was a lot of talk about him over the summer and there are reasons why, as I've discussed in recent videos, I think he's absolutely excellent. I think he's struggled recently, especially against Chelsea and Newcastle, but that's what's going to happen with 21-year-olds. I think there are very few options at Everton, there is definitely no one in the forwards department.
Fulham had three different suggestions. They had Munce, who has obviously been in incredible form recently. He has up to eight goals this season, right? And to be honest with you. He looks like a real talent, Anthony Robinson as a defender and Joel Pino, who again has been a beast, a top player in midfield, with the most tackles of any player in Europe, I think, or in the top five leagues in Europe this season, I think it is giving more. five tackles per 90 again in the Premier League, but actually I think I'm going to side with this guy here, Anthony Robinson, you know, the most starts of any player in this movie Team, the most minutes of any field player on the team, six assists. his defensive game has really improved, he is very difficult to beat in the 1 V due to his athleticism and his decision making has again improved this year under Marco Silva and that has led to a really outstanding fullback profile starting to form.
Most interceptions of any Premier League player this season Fourth most tackles of any Premier League player this season at Fulham Most key passes Most passes Most carries Most the defensive actions you know he's been excellent and for me I'm putting down Anthony Robinson As Fulham's player of the season, let's go to Liverpool where we have Van Dijk, we have Moos Salah and Mallister is also mentioned there. Mallister I definitely think the second half of the season has really come into its own. I know there are 26 starts this season, nine participations in goals. I think, by the way, he's the fourth most tackled player of any player in the Premier League and, since he's moved up a bit further, I know he's done a job like six, but I thinksince Endo arrived.
In that role, we really started to see the best in Mallister because at the beginning of the season, when he was playing that more defensive role, he was doing a great job. I think the most tackles and interceptions in this Liverpool team by over 40 so he covers ground very well but he is a great progressive passer he has the ability to score excellent goals from outside the box he is an exceptional player one of the bargains of the season mosalah again you know 23 goals 13 assists we can't I joke about that, can we? Those numbers are ridiculous, but I don't think his finish has been classic Mosala recently.
I think he may have slipped a little, which leads me to move on to Van Djk, who I think this is a touch, I really do. This is a touch on their best player and yes, he may be 32 now, but I think he is back to his best this season. A progressive passing monster. His ability to change the game completely changes the dynamic of how Liverpool want to play. I also don't think enough has been said about how much his partner has rotated on both sides you know they have had problems at left back Gomez has had to play there mati has been injured for most of the season canate has been injured K quon had to play Bradley had to play Trent was injured he's been the only consistent player in that back line and that's really hard to do.
Now he is 32 years old, yes, he returned to the best of his control in both boxes. His aerial gem percentage is one of the best in Premier League history. He is still for me, he would be one of the three. The best players in the Premier League this season, not just the Liverpool player this season, he is a candidate to win the Premier League Player of the Year award again in Luton. The three suggestions were Barkley Ed aay and Alfie doti. I think Alfie Doyle has had a great season, definitely, Luton. Most Improved Player I think seven assists is fantastic on any kind of dead bull.
I think adab bio's nine goals in 13 starts need to be talked about, obviously Caron Morris has nine goals too, but Ross Barkley has been the fourth most minutes player at Luton I. I think there were question marks over how fit was going to be there when it arrived. He completely dispelled that he is one of the best ball-carrying central midfielders in the league, a huge improvement from any type of central zone and he has also been able to score nine goals. implications including a fantastic finish at Manchester City at the weekend even though they ended up losing that game.
I think Ross Barkley is the right man. City have two outstanding candidates, I think in Rodri and Foden, there was talk of Ernie Harland, I think probably. just because he scored 20 goals, but for me no, I think he is between Rodri and Foden and at 23 years old scoring 11 goals and six assists. I think in the Premier League 22 goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season has been a monster. Phil Foden is an absolute creative machine in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne and the profile of him is very complete, whether as an attacking midfielder or winger or occasionally going deeper.
I mean, these numbers don't even look at him in the midfield. Realms, he's predominantly played as a sort of center 10, hasn't he? And I think that has taken his game to a whole new level because he not only scored goals, but he scored great goals, you know, the two against United, he has a goal against. Spurs three against Villa Two Against Leipzig the gold against Real Madrid Very realistic Contender to win the Premier League player of the year award, but I still think it's Rodri as I still think Rodri has been City's player of the year, he has been as stupid as such ridiculous, I think that's 64 undefeated games.
Now, isn't it? But when will that streak return? It must surely be more than a year and I think the fact that they've lost five of six games without him this season speaks volumes. He has talked about being a bit harsh recently rested against Luton, yet they managed to get the job done there. We know about Roger's passing ability. You know, over 100 passes attempted with a 92% pass completion rate is frankly a joke, but he has seven. goals and seven assists this season are great numbers for a player who is supposedly a defensive midfielder, but he is no longer one.
He is a midfielder who does everything, one of the best we have seen in the Premier League because he has the most passes at City. the most progressive passes the most shot creation actions the most shot creation actions than Phil Foden by the way the most tackles and interceptions the most defensive actions he is 27 years old he is only 27 they are rodri boys United Bare Bones and I mean, it's Bare Bones three suggestions dallow Mayu garnacho I think garnacho has 32 starts in a row, pretty big goal involvement numbers. Manu only made it to his second half of the season due to that injury suffered in pre-season against Real Madrid which was extremely unfortunate, you know he's been excellent but I think Dow Dow has been very consistent when he played as a right back, he's not his biggest fan as a left back.
I think that in the 1 V defensively he is quite easy to isolate as a left back because they don't like him. He tackles with the outside of his foot, now he reverses very well. I think he would be a functional, high-performing right back for almost any team in Europe. It's a bit unfortunate for him that Manchester United are in the state he is in now. I think that if he played for a better team, he would be one of the most outstanding right-backs in European football. Very good, in Newcastle. Three suggestions. That Shaw and Anthony Gordon.
Isak scored 17 goals in the Premier League, really, really well. I think Fabian Shaw, however, has had a better performance. season that Alexander Isach a bit like van DJK has had a constantly rotating partnership a constantly rotating defense line the amount of injuries Newcastle have suffered has been ridiculous but it is very consistent the most minutes of any player in the team I think who most passes is third for most progressive passes on the team, one of the best center backs on the ball in the league and one of the most underrated players in the league, but for me, the player of the season From Newcastle it should be Anthony Gordon, 20 goals involved in all competitions at 23 years old. old is really impressive and also has 18 goal involvements in the Premier League so these numbers have not been skewed by the League Cup, FA Cup playing against fodder, in fact his performance against better teams seems to improve , you know, two involvements in goals against Liverpool. goal against United a goal against Arsenal three participations in goals against Tottenham a goal and an assist against Chelsea super impressive numbers but also his work without the ball is incredible, he is a press leader in Newcastle and I think my decision was ago a couple of videos when I was Talking about my England team has probably changed in the last couple of weeks.
I think Rashford would stop now and Gordon would go to Nottingham Forest. The three suggestions were Mario Chris Wood, who by the way has 12 goals, you know? I think he is one of 10 players in Premier League history to score 10+ goals in Five Seasons, Morgan Gibbs White, and also one of my favorite players. I love Morgan Gibbs White, but I think he's been Mario, you know, 21 years old. Getting to the Premier League as a left-footed centre-back is not easy, especially when it is not like that and Forest have had changes in the managerial field, you know that they have not had the most stable team.
If we're honest, Forest could and I could. I don't believe it when I read it, the sixth-best record in the league for expected goals conceded, which is crazy when you think about actual goals conceded. I think they've conceded the fourth most, so the goaltending department hasn't been great, but the defensive unit. In reality, it hasn't been a total disaster. Sheffield United's three suggestions with James mcy who is obviously on LAN from Man City, a really good technical player, Jayden Bogle and Jack Robinson, just because of his heart and what he gives to the Sheffield United fan base, no I believe it.
There have been so many players who have tried so hard. I think there are a few players on Chef United who have called him out this season. I don't think you can say that about Jack Robinson. I think he bled through that shirt. Tottenham is one. Of the hardest clubs to make here, I actually think there are some suggestions that Spurs fans have overlooked, you know, Vicar Vanen, son. I also think Destiny Doggy could have been there as Kap, let's talk about son, obviously a lot of goals this season. Again, but I don't think he's been as influential as Mickey Vanen, who has been outstanding without him.
The High Line fail completely and I know he was exposed in Newcastle at the weekend, as was Vanen who had a bad game, but before that game he has been inconsistent, his ability to cover ground and get back into the defensive position is outstanding. He has formed very good partners with Romero, who wants to get out of line, however, you know them if you look at the underlying numbers and I have done that throughout. so I don't want to just throw that away, if you look at the Spurs defensive line, yes, they may have the sixth best defensive record in the league, but based on expected goals, they conceded their 12th, they gave up a lot of high kicks quality, Tottenham and not me.
I say it's Van's fault, but I think without Vicario I don't think the season would have gone as well as he has. He has rescued them on some big occasions, third best in the league in expected goals from the post in his debut. season in the league he has been extremely solid, I think people immediately associated him with being one of the best goalkeepers in the league, he is big, he has control, I think he could do better from the corners, I think he needs to get out of his line, but he has shot saving excellent how he has fitted into the system excellent I'm going Vicario, okay West Ham's suggestions were Jared Bowen Emerson at fullback and back I think this is clearly Jared Bowen's man 19 goals eight assists in all competitions this season and again this needs an exclamation point, he hasn't scored a penalty and not only is he good in attack, you have to do this in a David Mo system, but you also have to be very hardworking as a defensive forward, he is a top 10 standout % of European forwards in tackles to interceptions to blocks to pressures is a beast without the ball, but he has also started to become very, very cold and icy in front of goal, which is just what wolves want.
I also think it's quite difficult to choose here. I think Nelson SEO could very well be the most improved player on the Wolves with Gary O'Neal is definitely a shot at that, you know, most distance traveled, most carries, third place on the side uh in most defensive actions. I think Mari Lina is probably the most consistent player here, the fourth most minutes on the team. you know, 29 starts, I think he's second on the team in tackle interceptions, he does everything very well, but for me it's been Matas Kuna and he may only have one more goal to hang on, but I think the goals he scored have been very different to hang.
Hang's goals have been pretty rough, almost sneaky, while Kuny has played many more minutes than Hang. I think in 25 starts in the Premier League he has 11 goals and also six assists. He is one of the best in the league at carrying the ball. like I said, top third percentile in progressive carries and successful takes, he's tough, he's physical, he's great in open space, he's scored some fantastic goals and you know he's 11, hang on, 10. I think the next top scorer on the walls He has four, so it was vital that those two scored goals. I think if Hang hadn't had the injury problems he's had, he'd be in this conversation too, but with 11 goals, six assists and some fantastic goals he's

picking

Kuna too, so I'm the one

picking

them all. club player of the season let me know who your club's player of the season is in the comments below.
