Phoenix Point - Legend Campaign - SCRATCHING THAT XCOM ITCH - Part 1

Jun 04, 2021
Hello everyone Chris Rod, welcome to a new Phoenix Point

campaign

. I'm going to let the intro go and see you on the other side in what may be the hottest year on record. Scientists have recorded radical changes in the permafrost in Antarctica, the Pandora virus, the so-called giant virus with the largest genome ever recorded, crabs also show increased aggression towards even larger predators, attacking a new climate anomaly that has taken hold from many coasts around the world. NASA is examining these clouds to find out that we have detected them. a great liberation in the mechanical capacity so far the sample coincides with love the debatable we all saw it those creatures coming out of the sea I saw them walking directly towards the sea thousands of people thousands the list disappeared but the city is dead The roads are broken, you must Join one of the paradises, don't try to survive alone, here we come.

in Phoenix, if you haven't heard of it, it's similar to XCOM, as you might imagine. It's being designed by Julian Gollop, he's the mind behind the original compared to some of the more modern releases of and I'll be uploading these pretty regularly over the next few days, so if you want to be notified about them, consider subscribing and hitting the notification bell for when they go live, also if you're buying the game anyway and enjoy what I do. I consider using the link in the description as it helps the channel, so let's dive in, let's get started, we are going to play on

I'm not going to follow the tutorial if you want to see what the tutorial entails, the official

of Phoenix. The channel has a couple of videos already showing the tutorial, but we're going to dig deeper and I'll explain all the mechanics as we go, so let's get started. The Phoenix project was founded on October 24, 1945, the second war to end all wars. was over, but there were those who understood that we could no longer afford to think in terms of nations and empires for a time. The Phoenix project successfully navigated the political conflicts of its era, which was our golden age.

The agents of the Phoenix project toured the world in search of clues that We had bases in two dozen countries, even the skies are not forbidden, but out there, on the far side of the Moon, our fall began, the failure of the Phoenix: the mission exposed us to our enemies in the UN, stripped of resources and scattered to the winds. we were reduced to a secret a memory when the Pandora virus woke up we should have been the first line of defense when huge clouds of fog appeared over the sea when people started disappearing we should have discovered what was happening and when those people started coming back changed hostile alien we should have been ready to fight but we failed the ecosystem began to change imperceptibly at first then increasingly faster three factions emerged new Jericho trying to restore order and purity Rijn Synod in the hope of building a world without hierarchies and disciples of a new syncretic religion dedicated to adaptation and biological change at war with the world and at odds with each other these factions cannot find a way forward now the mist is returning and armies are rising from the sea without the

A full tutorial, but I'll talk about things as they come up and then we'll go deeper when necessary before we get started. The important thing to know is that every time you move through geographic space, time moves forward. You could also take advantage of that happening and start some research projects and maybe build some facilities at your base, so let's go to our research tab. We have a thing available called atmospheric analysis, so we've managed to connect to some of the remaining climate. satellites, we should use them to assess the extent of the new fog outbreak.
The global fog monitoring system available when this is done will track this fog around the world and we will be able to see where it is and make decisions about it. what missions we take because of that, if you're fighting inside the fog things are a lot harder so you might want to take that into account when choosing what missions you're going to do after the second thing if we look at the our bases. You can see our base is pretty well established, we have access to elevator manufacturing plants, research labs, satellite uplink, which is really important, power, Bay housing and warehouses, all these different things, but most importantly What I want to point out is "We have three materials right now, technological materials or should I say three resources and food, food is the only one that is going down currently and every day we are losing food, that is bad because food is what is used to recruit new soldiers, so I." I am going to recommend that we build a food production unit.
This is a facility that generates enough food for eight soldiers each day and also takes three full days to build, so let's start now and that way we can recruit soldiers in the shelters when that happens. is available, so when we look at this screen we see our Manticore down here and the current inhabitants inside this that I have customized for the starting soldiers that I got from Discord and if you guys want to become soldiers in this

campaign

. then just leave a comment below with the name, you don't have to separate first name, nickname, last name, it's all just one field and then there are some very basic customization options, there aren't as many as XCOM for example, but I'm sure that they finished. time and if mods are enabled this is going to get pretty crazy so here you have basic things like body type, male/female hair, facial hair, hair color, eye color, voice, primary color, secondary color and then an armor pattern, so our first recruit is our heavy class.
On this difficulty we always start with a heavy sniper and for raid classes you get a bunch of really cool classes as you start working with the factions and stuff so you're not limited to just these basic ones that Phoenix Point has and you eventually find really cool stuff, so martial skadden is our first recruit and this is our heavy class. I'll check this screen out once we start dealing with promotions and such, for now I'll keep this open so you can see what some of these customization options look like, our second recruit is Catherine Kat McCall, she's our sniper, cool helmet and with a really stylish look that reminds us a little bit that we have Reapers, we have Cassandra Fulton as our first assault class and she looks pretty cool, and then Vignesh shen mugam our second assault class and you can see what the helmet looks like here, like this So what I'm going to do is start scanning some of these sites because we have a satellite link here that will allow us to start area scans to locate other sites of interest so that all of these current sites are unexplored.
We have to go and explore them with our ship. Spend some time there. Notice, pay attention here, so it's January first, two thousand and forty-seven. Let's see how much time passes as we move around the map, so we have a sort of queue of things that were working on this side, this yellow or orange dotted line that runs down here indicates our maximum travel range, but every time we We stop somewhere, it restarts, so think of it like you're refueling, so what you'll notice once we start having access to a larger portion of the world map, we'll go through places to get to our destination this is a globe faithfully recreated as seen today we are currently starting in Africa looks like I had to look this up but it looks like an Ethiopia type area so okay let's get started let's start going up here and I'm starting an area scan it costs a little bit of materials and something of technology, but it is very important that you will notice that a type of green radar appears as time goes by and that the radars will slowly expand and ping new sites that we can then explore, so this is our way of expanding our access to the world.
Ideally we're looking for a scavenging mission here, something where we can go out and try to protect some boxes from the aliens attacking them so we can then get more. technology, more materials and more food, but let's explore and see what we find here. Scanning the site takes about four or five hours, so these are the dreamers who woke up. Fort Hayek is a shelter run by New Jericho, which is one of the three factions this means. that normally things are calm and under control right now there is an emergency group of soldiers is on a killing spree started with strange dreams voices heard in the night a local doctor tells our agents I couldn't detect any physiological changes and there certainly weren't signs of infection, but their behavior simply cannot be explained by PTSD or similar conditions that we are unfortunately quite familiar with in New Jericho, it's as if something has driven the crazy sounds familiar with the opening cinematics, if we stop these soldiers, New Jerrica will certainly thank us.
So, there is a mission to stop a group of rampaging soldiers. Now I tell you that you can try this, but the difficulties will be very difficult. Ideally we would find a garbage collection site, we should probably be within our first little area here, but let's continue exploring this. is going to start pinging sites and eventually we'll come back and do this mission to help these guys, then the atmospheric analysis is done, the reprogramming of our satellite systems the extent of the new fog outbreak the guys are in is revealed. origin sites. The coastal regions of the sea as in the previous two raids, but the level of activity appears higher, posing a serious threat to remaining life on Earth.
Vaults trapped within the fog will be at risk of attack, so we must thoroughly explore the fog-covered regions and defend any vaults trapped within. For them, our geographic landscape monitoring systems have been updated with the current fog coverage, so the global fog monitoring system is now available and that is quite unfortunate for us because anything that happens within this fog makes make the missions more difficult, so if we are going to be fighting there it is a little scary because it is so close to our main base in our current exploration area. We have a new investigation available and you will also notice that we have an objective here now to complete the Phoenix files. is something that says that we have discovered a batch of encrypted materials or files in the mainframe of the newly recovered Phoenix Base according to the file names, these are the Phoenix files or what is left of them, so let's queue up and then because we meet with a New Jericho shelter New Jericho is a militaristic organization founded by the enigmatic billionaire Tobias West.
If this is completed, we will get some additional materials to use, so let's list them. You can change them if you want. I like to just throw out all the available research. I go in and then I queue it the way I want, but since this is an objective, let's start the Phoenix files and that will unlock a special mission for us eventually, okay, let's start exploring these sites, ideally while I say let's search and find a garbage collection site, so it's a basic thing where we can get some experience for some of our soldiers and things like that.
Now this is another shelter run by Kaitlin Brahim. This is directed by Elif Lopes. All shelters have individual leaders and then. They all depend on one faction, so right now in our diplomacy area we only see the new Jericho faction led by Tobias West, so we will probably find a lot of shelters in the similar area, so we just head to a new unexplored faction. place there so you can see nowwe have access to get up in this area let's go ahead and explore this well then the fire within Sumer this is another faction in the disciples of a new shelter of Sumer an infestation of mutated worms is causing serious problems locals who put their hopes in the Ark taxi near Gaul, the disciples, the greatest military hero, but then you are nothing more than near Gaul or sorry, but it is said that near Gaul is fighting a series of p

itch

ed battles against the pan Dorrans and could not help.
We could eradicate the infestation ourselves by helping Haven make a good first impression with this faction, so the common thing you're seeing here is that when we encounter a new faction for the first time, there will be a quest we can take on to help. them and that will help us develop our relationships with them as these relationships improve, we are going to activate certain special missions to handle for these guys and then we will get greater rewards as our diplomacy with them improves. This identification blocked the disciples from further investigation. They are said to have been a series of X cultists before the Third World War, disciples of a you who have grown to become one of the greatest powers in what remains of our world.
Not much is known about the religion, other than that they embrace brought mutations. by the Pandora virus and are ruled by a leader referred to only as the exalted one now this gives food which is really good as I've been alluding we need this to recruit soldiers so I'm actually going to fast forward this to New Jericho and then I'll bring the Phoenix files back to the top, okay? Let's go out here still looking for a garbage collection site that we should find relatively soon, perfect, okay, so we'll go here and take on our first battle.
We need to eliminate all the enemies to recover these boxes. Now, a warning about this difficulty. these boxes will go away, there is literally no way to stop and you will see that the main thing is to try to get the boxes that were next to you because there will be more enemies than soldiers, so we will outnumber you. The threat level is a low light level. You may be wondering why this matters. This affects our perception, so at night we don't see as far as we could during the day. I think the enemies suffered the same weakness there, but that changes things.
We can make some tactical decisions based on this and then the enemy type is Pandoran, so sometimes we will be fighting Pandoran most of the time, but sometimes we will also face other factions or independent groups and that is why the enemy type is on the list, okay let's get into our first mission, there are a couple of things we need to do here before we head out, you'll notice health and stamina here, we'll talk about that a little later, you'll notice everyone is in the manticore right now, indicated by this icon, this weapon with the exclamation says that there is an empty item slot, so you can charge these guys up to their maximum charge level without any penalty.
Everything you see here has a certain weight associated with it, so this med kit has a weight of two, if we put this in there it will increase its load, so we're not going to do that. There's really only one thing we could add with him but we could save this for our other soldiers for a couple different reasons his mobility isn't as good because he's wearing very heavy armor and we want him to be our tank is our heavy unit needs being close you need to be able to absorb some damage but each piece of armor has positive and negative impacts so you have a very high armor rating but your speed is affected, your stealth and your accuracy and accuracy are affected.
This specific piece of equipment has an ability called jet jump, so some of the equipment. it actually has special features attached to it, they're cool, so okay, we'll leave it as is Katherine cat McCall, she has some space, we'll give her an extra clip, everything in Phoenix Point has to be handled without carrying enough clip. so they don't run out of ammo, making sure they have medkits when possible, that's how everything has to be done and it will become sort of second nature the more you do it, but it can be really overwhelming at first. I might also add an extra clip here because we have space and I think that's probably fine in our rounds.
I'm going to give you each a first aid kit. They are our weakest class right now because I have to be. mid-range, so they will be if we don't kill the enemy as soon as we see them, these guys are likely to take some damage, so bring them the medkits, we'll also bring an extra magazine and see you around. You're already carrying a grenade, let's make a clip here and maybe in that case we'll throw a grenade here, that's fine and I'll even throw one here, why not? She'll probably be way back, but everyone is carrying one and we'll just make it work well so everyone is ready, we can ignore this because we can't fill that space, let's deploy our squad and we'll talk about how the combat is very different from XCOM and allows, in Actually, a pretty decent fight.
Lots of flexibility in how you approach things when we charge in here, you'll notice that each of our soldiers has four action points and we can use those action points however we want, we can move and shoot, we can shoot a couple of times. Depending on the weapon, check out the manticores which look pretty cool. Pxo eight, no big deal, you're only limited basically by your imagination and the total number of action points, so you can see them here, so let's take a look with Vignesh, this is. a good example, so the first thing we should point out is that you will see below his health bar that blue bar for different action points represented.
If we start moving the cursor, you'll see that as we move beyond these boundaries, I'll see new boundaries set and then sometimes they change color. The reason it changes color is because this weapon, if this Aries assault rifle, requires two action points, you can see indicated by the bars below, so what do these limits represent? To move here, it will be my first action point consumed and in fact, you can see that along the way that action point splits into four separate tiles, so the further I go, the more that

part

of that action point drops. action, so once.
I go here, it's a full action point and I could shoot from here. I might as well go out here. I still have two action points left and shoot from there, but once I cross, it says, "Okay, now you're in the yellow zone." You can't shoot if you go to this position, so it's a really flexible system, which is pretty cool when you look at someone like our heavy Marshall, his movement is severely hampered compared to the rest, so we have to do some pretty daring maneuvers. he has this jet jump that uses a combination of action points which are those blue bars and the points are usually used for special abilities so you see here he has six everyone has six right now but as you start to level up.
These guys will get more buffs that use willpower points, so you have to keep that in mind because his weapon requires three actions, this doesn't leave much flexibility once we move him somewhere where he is without the ability. to act from time to time we have our sniper who has a similar problem because her weapon requires three action points to use, so she is a little limited in that sense. The nice thing about this system is that if you press act to carry out your different equipped items, this thing the limits adjust to that, so now it knows that I'm talking about using our coded gun here and therefore it says okay, your range maximum blue is here where you can still shoot or if you just stayed in this location because it only requires one action.
I could take four shots from here, so that's basic, you guys get it, that's basically how things work here. Now we are trying to save these boxes, there are eight of them and we have a decent reserve. here we have these that are very close to us and if we are lucky we will be able to save them and that is if we are lucky, so we will start exploring here. I'm going to put, let's see, let's put Vignesh. Here you'll notice that there are things like full and half coverage, but the reasons why those matter are very different from XCOM.
XCOM everything is based on percentages and here things are not like that, we will delve into that when we can start targeting enemies, so let's see, we will get into the topic. I think we'll bring everyone in if we can, if we can set up surveillance, we won't have any indication of where the enemies are, but they're going to be. lining for these boxes and since this box there is no way we are going to get that one, these would be amazing, they are probably unlikely, but as our squad gets stronger and stronger I mean, we have more people, those things will change, let's keep going.
Skadden up to here no enemies detected yet and for Catherine, let's put her here so we can keep an eye on and we'll keep an eye on a couple of people. The interesting thing about surveillance in Phoenix Point is that you can actually configure exactly where you want this to go off, usually in something like protect different doors or just to have more control over the areas you want to monitor. You might be wondering, well, why don't I look at all this? Because if an enemy appears here, it will be very inaccurate, you will basically waste bullets and ammo is a bit scarce, you will have to reload manually. your weapons and stuff and make sure you bring ammo and missions, so that's something to consider for sure.
I'm going to do something like this kind of monitoring on this path to see if anything shows that we can't do anything with Marshall, so I'm going to press space, enter standby, same thing here, there's nothing I can do on right now and then we'll set up a watch down here. His sniper range is much more accurate now, so I'm fine if something pops up. here to take a picture, let's rock, guys, you guys have questions about that, oh well, I wish we could see this, oh, that's good, nothing will go well, so the reason this doesn't shoot is because I cast a look here, well actually I'm not sure.
My wife didn't shoot. I'm not sure I feel like we probably should have monitored that, but either way I agree, it didn't damage anything, so let's talk about how damage and stuff works in Phoenix. The first point to pay attention to is that this is the health bar at the top of this R Tharin. He has one hundred and seventy health right now, thirteen general armor, but each body

part

has its own health and armor rating the wider this section is. is the potential damage that we can deal, which is 90 because it's 110 damage multiplied by one shot minus thirteen armor and I think this is always just rounds, so this means that you're going to do about 90 damage if it was between 11 and 20, it's We'll reduce it by 20 either way when we look closer so we can hit this or what I like to do is just zoom in and do it, you're pretty quick on this, we can actually target individual body parts and each of these parts. of the body. if they are disabled, something like this happens, for example, the head, for example, it is good to aim with our snipers because we are very accurate, it has no armor, as you can see there, while the shell has 20 armor. on its own, if you disable the head, it causes bleeding, reduces willpower, which is what allows them to do some of their special abilities, removes 20 from their maximum HP, and removes an ability called spit poison, which does 10 damage , 20 perforations, which deals with armor. it deals 60 poison damage per turn, which is an incredible amount because our soldiers don't have much health right now, it has an effective range of five, and it costs them two action points to use it now before we take this photo you might be seeing .
This through thinking okay, how do we know what our chance is to hit this thing? Just look at our reticle here for a second. I'll put it on a black dot so we can explain this: the outer reticle of the darker one. Teal, if we shoot here, our shot will land inside that larger circle, that smaller circle in the middle has a 50% chance of landing there, so for someone like our sniper, this circle is really small and we know it. If we take this shot, at least we're going to hit this alien and with a 50% chance at this range we're going to hit the head because the head is completely surrounded inside this.
If we look at someone like our assault, okay, this shows if we just took this shot from here, you'll remember that the wider it is, the more likely it is to happen, so these are pretty high chances of hitting, but these guys operate differently. Notice how there are six cutsindividual here, it is because this weapon is this assault. Fire the rifle six times and each bullet could deal 30 damage and then it is reduced by potential armor so he has an armor rating of 13 here but if we zoom in we notice his shell has 20 I think he is taking as the maximum potential armor there and reducing. but anyway that works a little differently because in Phoenix Point each bullet is individually measured so that we can take these shots and when we zoom in, one hundred percent of our shots will be inside that larger outer circle, 50% of our shots should land inside. that smaller circle in the middle and that's a key point of difference between our rounds in our sniper.
Six shots will be fired, so let's see if we want to anyway. The good thing about being here is that we can shoot twice because this is only two action points that we could move to get higher and get closer, the closer we are, the more chances we will have to hit with each weapon, so I'm going to take this shot from here. I feel like it's pretty good now, yeah. We're on the torso here, but our shots are going to spread out anywhere within this circle, so I could go here, but you'll notice that we have that whole left side that's empty and miscible, so I'd like to take this shot. in the middle and let it rip good, so we did that, hit a couple things there, noticed we did some damage with tweezers, where's that? shot and I hope we end up killing him because if you notice that at the top all of these are pretty, White's chance is pretty high and you don't have to get close every time, but I will say you're at a disadvantage if you don't, the quick way I did it.
I do, they press F and I just start scrolling the zoom wheel to get my target and for him we're just spraying in this general area. Again, all right, this is a pretty high HP unit for now, so I'm good, yeah We need a couple shots to deal with him, I'll hold our sniper for a second just because I want to see if we can find him. any other enemy we know one is here that's what this indicates we saw him doing some things the boxes themselves are not covered this is well covered let's take this good so we detect a new enemy and he's just sitting here This is not bad , it may not seem like it's bad, but when we get closer, we see all this in front of us and one of the really interesting things about Phoenix Point is that this cover is not something you would usually consider. in see the lantern. since our lights actually hit the bottom piece of this now some of our shots could break this and then go through and damage it, that's something to think about, if we want we can take a look at the information on these thrones and see what they have . so he's got his spitting head that spits poison, he's got an organic grenade launcher which is going to be our worst enemy here and then we also have a pincer for his melee damage so we could try shooting but it's a bit Skadden is a bit questionable you'll notice which is very inaccurate in what I'm looking for here, so notice that blue arrow or that blue line that says we'll have line of sight there, let's move over here, it's going to use almost all of our action points and just to give you an idea like this , it is very unlikely that it will reach basically a 50% chance that it will land in the intermediate area, but it could still hit this barrier here, so let's postpone that, the other thing to consider is how are we going to deal with that other guy that we just found and I'm looking for maybe a line of sight with Catherine to that unit, but I don't think we'll get it, so we might as well It's just best for us to pick up this kil and we'll go right here, there's no armor on the heads.
There's a good chance we'll definitely kill the unit anyway, oh we didn't. Okay, well, there you go, we disabled it. On the arm we hit the clamp and again that little variation that there may be there with that outer circle, nothing is nothing, it is certain that we inflicted bleeding, which is good, we have disabled the arm, which is good, but it still has the grenade launcher. he needs 10 more damage to die because he will also bleed 10, that worries me because he is still alive so I'm going to take this chance and hope we hit this.
We didn't, oh, we warned you. that we're here and we're serious, he's out in the open, maybe this guy is going for him with the grenades, that would be the best case scenario. I can't communicate with him, we could discuss, this is another interesting thing we can. free target and we could try to break through these walls because we just need to deal a little bit of damage, but then we have our food box. I don't really want to hurt her, so we're in a bit of a weird place, but Anyway, let's shoot around here and see if we can get any of you to get a couple of bullets into her.
I agree with that and I'm actually just going to break the vision. Keep this between us more and see what he does. If I can keep this guy from being able to see me, we'll make him do something and if something maybe goes for our or heavy, then he'll go for the food, which is very sad for me because I think this guy will just destroy it and the food. it's so crucial right now it wasn't right so it's out of action points okay um hmm let's see he's dead now due to bleed damage he only has 10 HP it will bleed him out no problem so now we can do it. we focus our efforts on the other guy with Scott and it's going to be a little difficult because I don't want to swing and hit that thing and it's a little tricky, we really just want to get him closer for next time, let's see We have some pretty good shots here, let's put this right in the torso area, we're just trying to make sure it's as full in the circle as possible.
Very good, we should be able to take it out without moving, it's getting closer again and you don't have to manually target this if you don't want to, but I like to do it just for control, it gives me a sense of control anyway, if we want we can let the bleeding. I think we'll take this opportunity to maybe jump. Here we are going to give you a good chance to show off the jetpack. No one takes a small risk because we don't know if there are enemies in this section, but it worked well in this situation.
Now this guy moved to this location. It is not like this. wrong, let's take this cover here and we'll put a stakeout in that area, we'll let this guy bleed out, say something like this, so if he gets out of that building we'll have him covered and then we'll use the opportunity to move the cat down here and then he'll have that path covered for next time. You'll also notice on the map that we have this outer wall which is obviously the barriers that we can't get through, but you'll also notice that. There are some small alien heads here representing where reinforcements may be coming from.
Things get crazy, okay, that guy didn't do any harm, which is good, they're actually being pretty easy on us right now. I just want to see if anything shows up. We're not going to bring it any closer, no eyes on now there are also these boxes out here. What's really cool about Phoenix Point is that you have this whole inventory management system so we could find things here to use right now if we wanted to. We have to take into account our action points. The other thing this does is increase the will points we have, so if we spend some like on him, we could bring them here and that will increase the enemies will points.
Dying and killing enemies with specific soldiers also increases willpower points. Something to keep in mind hmm, we know where they are. It's just a question of where they will go. They don't have any more boxes there, so they'll probably have to come. here and maybe we can get some surveillance. I think we're going to have to do a full run here and then with our sniper, there's really not much here, it's all walls, so it's very unlikely we'll be able to hit anything. let's see, let's go here for now so that hopefully we can have some line of sight next period.
We'll set up your surveillance on this door and then wait. I want to know what they are doing there. Oh hello, here we go. Alright, I disabled the head, which is good damage to the team, they can still use it, but we did it, we reduced the will points considerably, so it was really good. Also, now I have the opportunity to do some damage with this weapon and this is the key I feel. These heavy ones finally work very well and in small and closed spaces because they can fire many shots, but their weapon must be very close to be able to hit, so even if we hit this shell the amount of damage is 180, it destroys ten armors. and I feel like this is okay, seeing the damage that came out there, it's basically one shot, one death, but I'll be honest, it's a little weird that that opportunity presents itself, okay, there's still two more here, let's get her here and I have to do it . monitor this, I can't really go back there with her, let's mention the big Nash here and there's no vision we can see throwing a grenade.
The good thing is that when we get into this, we will start to level up, but each of these. Soldiers have three different attributes as well as strength, will and speed, and strength affects your HP but also your throwing distance, so keep in mind that we can't throw very far here if they had higher strength and we could take this one down. Wall. or something like that, but anyway he's in full cover, let's go back to the gun and we'll set up surveillance where he's likely to go, he could cross this path because you can't just walk through the wall to this guy if I set this up, this also covers that center section and the exposed door here, let's go for it and then do something similar here, maybe cover that left side as well.
I'm trying to get that left side that opens the door in that center section. I'll see, oh really, okay, then very good, you have that box. Well played, well played, well played. Well, I might go in there and try to tank who these guys see. We see this guy. Alright. I would love for this guy to go a little further to the left if we go for the leg, there's a pretty high chance we'll hit based on the wall behind him, the very good leg is disabled which will drastically reduce this move, but I feel that we can probably kill, so look.
Those white bars on his health aren't very good, but we don't need all the shots to land here, he's bleeding, but it's really like know what I'm going to aim for here and we'll see if this is cover that can be taken. Some cans, some, right? You just have to experiment. Well, we have a stray dog. Um, let's go a little further into the middle section. We're damaging the clamp on it, but that's all. I really don't want to. This guy is going to survive so I'm going to try to get the best shot possible. I move here and take a shot.
We would still have one action point left. This feels much better. It's great. We can do that and then we can. I'm still taking cover, so I'm thinking I could come in here or maybe somewhere on this side, but I'll probably just go down and flank myself, which I don't love and I don't have any cover between us and there. This is a shot I might really consider taking when we aim. I don't really have a viable option, so never mind, let's see if he comes this way. I'll let a supervisor fly here and then I'll relax.
Whoa, okay, okay, well played. played, so we have to find a way to shoot that down, let's sw

itch

to a grenade and fix, actually okay, let's throw to action points, very cool and still there's a big part up there that we don't have a good picture of . him, it looks like we're okay, it actually looks like we did a pretty good job, let's see sometimes the line of sight can be a little tricky when we get close like if you notice, it looks like this guy should have a really good chance at this . but he's not in range for some reason and if we get close we have all this normally influence the step out, but that might come down to practice now that we're out of ammo here we need to reload this is It's going to cost a point of action do this, so let's go ahead and do it, we can move up, take cover and then shoot, let this fly somewhere with the least amount of armor possible, that's a lot inside the shell, let's go here, very cool . and then lastly, let's have the cat pick this up.
Well, I think they are all very pretty, not bad for a first search mission. In fact, we have many more boxes than I expected. Well, no one got a promotion, but that's okay. Experience points are shared between them. all of our soldiers and then the ones that kill get a little bit more so you can see how the cut breaks down here we have two skill points add them to the group because there is a group of individual soldiers and there is one individual or there is a group that everyonethey can put out something similar to two look at it and there was also a medkit there so any box that survived we'll get all the resources from now on once you finish a mission these screens will pop up and say do you want to restock? soldiers, these are single use grenades, once we throw one it disappears, so every time we throw a grenade, it actually costs us, that's very different from XCOM, so let's say yes, let's make this, This takes time to make and now certain things don't.
Not so, if we go into crafting here you'll see that medkits and ammo clips are instant. Everything else takes time. 15 hours. 5 hours for the pomegranate. Not bad. The armors are a little longer, all day long. In some situations, right now we only have access to like basic assault gear, heavy gear and sniper gear, and you can see snipers that increase their accuracy, this gear is all about armor and then your basic assault gear is something like this As middle of the road, it doesn't really have a lot of positives or negatives. it just doesn't hinder them, it doesn't really help them much, there are also vehicles we can make and one of the things I'll be saving up for is this scarab, it's very strong, although it takes up three spaces on your Manticore, until I find a new ship with greater capacity because yes, that is something that has several ships in operation, we are limited to six spaces and we can use them however we want now, if you look at our staff here, some of them suffered some health damage. some of them took up stamina, stamina decreases by one point for each turn in the mission up to a maximum of ten, once your guys have reduced stamina to certain points they then lose action points to move on to the next mission, like this that the way we heal this is us.
Bring them back to the base and we'll progress time at the base while they heal. Now this will only work if you have a couple of facilities running on number one, you need your med bay, so as long as they are on the base, whether on the manticore or just unloaded from the manticore, they will recover HP per hour in this base, If we look at our housing, this provides two points of resistance per hour for each housing in the base so you can upgrade this, you can heal super fast, but you can see that spaces are limited.
I don't even know why these are locked, but it doesn't look like we can use them, which is. We're going to limit our build on this base now, every time you start, this is different. I always have the same starting things, but they're in different areas and there's more or less these things obscured, so let's spend some time spinning here, you'll notice these guys are Now, getting that stamina back, we finish the Phoenix files after getting the base and analyze the data banks that remained functional. It is clear that Phoenix Point is now Phoenix's only operational base.
There may be other bases out there, but we need to find them and bring them. again online no sign of Randall signing the third these left something potentially useful for us well Randall signing was the last leader of the Phoenix project his great grandfather had been there when it was founded and was there to witness its end when we took back Phoenix Point, we found his notes in his final days as the world collapsed around him. He had been working frantically to understand the Pandora virus somewhere in the project's complicated history and decades of missions and research.
He had to have an answer. The notes were damaged, many of the files were damaged, but perhaps if we could retrace his steps we could discover where his journey had taken him and what the answers he had discovered would mean to us. Okay, great, at key points, usually after researching things we're making contact with certain individuals and/or mission types, we'll have these little days of exposition that are quite nice to fill out the story, so Randall signs off. The Third's notes indicate the existence of a private retreat owned by the signs used by the family. a place of meditation and research, it may contain information that could help us understand what Simon was trying to achieve in his final days, so now we have another mission site, add to the geographical landscape the Symes Retreat if we look for it if we click here.
This is pretty high up, we might be able to get there from here, but that's a special mission we want to tackle. We now have the goal of finding a second Phoenix base and completing Haven's recruitment protocols, which is new research that we now have access to, so this gives us a rough idea of the Phoenix base. The next one is somewhere in Western Asia, so we'll go north towards Symes and start scanning this area and explore as many sites as we can, but we also have new research, so Haven's recruiting protocols allow us to recruit soldiers. of paradises.
The leader of a reconnaissance team proposes that we try to recruit capable people from the paradises. They may not share the technological knowledge of Phoenix agents, but it's been a battle. hardened by the horrors of the world, I am going to move this and it will become our top priority, since we did quite well at that garbage collection site, we have a decent amount of food right now, we don't necessarily need the disciples of a new feed from that research, but this is really good so we can get a fifth soldier. We can also start doing autopsies on the units we come across, so this is an AR throne autopsy.
They are among the first Pandoras found and have the most numerous have multiple mutations to adapt different combat roles. Once we do this, we will start to have access to different things that we can build. I think we can build machine guns based on what they are using. This takes a lot more research time, since well, and then we have the dream delirium index, we could develop the dream delirium index concept proposed by Randall Symes, the third, into a system for tracking the unusual mental phenomena caused by Through the corral door and our presence, the delirium monitoring system comes online.
Basically this is like a Doomsday Clock and once it maxes out the game is over, in my opinion this is a low priority investigation from the start because all it does is tell us hey you're going to lose here and there are ways we can do it. mitigate that as we go, but it's not a high priority, it's a top priority, so hopefully we can get it done. This person has almost been cured. Skadden is doing pretty well and everyone is healed now, so we want to start returning to these bases now. Think, couldn't we just drop off people who are hurt and then fly around and do things you couldn't do?
The problem is that there are these ambush missions and ambush missions are very scary because ambush missions have a limited time. and you have to survive a certain number of turns with tons of enemies running towards you to kill you. It's pretty scary, so let's continue exploring these places. Oh great, then we find the Cimmerians. In this Nichiren Haven of Neo Djibouti, the situation is tense, someone thought. We discovered that it would be easy to infiltrate and steal from our open, democratic society. The citizens of Haven tell our agents that they pretended to join us and then left with some critical research that I assume they want to sell to another faction.
The citizens sigh. I said they left, but the truth is that they didn't get very far, in fact, they are trapped in Haven, but as you can imagine, this is a strange situation. These people pretend to be our friends. They lived in Neo Djibouti for months, all just for profit I guess old habits die hard. We could help Annie Drienne with this problem, so again we encounter a faction and have the ability to help them, which will improve our relationship with them now that we have all three factions together. really cool, we have a new disciple of Jericho from a new cimmerian.
You will notice that it shows his attitude towards us, we are generally friendly with all of them at the moment, however, it also shows the relationships with others, so Jericho's new view or attitude. towards the Cimmerian minus 9% and towards the disciples of Anu minus 3% and you can see that the other factions will also have different missions that appear here at the moment, basically everyone wanted to target each other and we can choose to take sides. with certain factions because some of them have really cool technology that we want to develop now. Admittedly, I haven't gone that deep into the game to experience things like that, but over time we'll start to see some of their technology become available to us because we have a very high relationship with them, but we may want something from another group that our group hates and there might be some conflict there, so it gets pretty interesting.
We'll include this in every Rhian investigation here and then Start playing with this priority soon and then we'll come back and do these quests soon as well. Now I just want to explore and then hopefully create a suite of biometric and psychological screening tests to identify potential recruits we need. locate shelters with leaders favorable to our cause and exchange any resources they want to ensure our recruitment options. It will probably be cheaper and easier for us to get recruits from shelters with higher populations, so now we can recruit soldiers from shelters and unlock new research that will unlock trade so some trade between havens occurs, but it is a difficult process and dangerous our access to transportation we are in a unique position to help the different settlements by providing supplies, it could be a perfect opportunity to establish trade relations that would benefit All parties can now exchange resources so we will prioritize this as well depending on what that each Haven has, that will determine what we can exchange, so when they have it, let's see if I can find an example of food production, so here's someone we can get food in exchange for materials or technology and that's it, just there are those three things we have to manage, but it's something to keep in mind now because our relationships with these guys across the board are pretty good, our cost to recruit this guy is a little bit lower, plus he's a special class because he comes from the disciples of Anu, right, let's take a look here, this would cost 325, it would be some kind of assault, which is fine, nothing wrong with that, but it would be great to get someone. that's a little more unique, so let's go down here, let's finish exploring this, there's another person here, it's indicated by this little icon, once the trade is done, we'll have more icons indicating why they can trade, so this It would be another great love of Andrew's.
Vinnie Comb, you'll notice some of your names are interesting because they all back your Kickstarter and they're here as soldiers' names, but I'm going to name it after you guys, so here we go, I think let's go here and even Although even though we might have some challenges to equipping this guy, I'll explain why in a second we're going to recruit them. Okay, this is, oh yeah, this says, Okay, we have the mission if we want it, but really what I want. What I want to do is simply recruit these soldiers. Training centers provide military strength for Haven and contribute to the protection of allied shelters with a range of influence.
The new training zones disciples are brutal arenas where berserkers are pumped with various chemicals to enhance their strength and bloodlust. so let's hire Tony the annoying Pescatore, he is with us now, we have to go there to do it, he will be on our Manticore and his class is a berserker, now you are probably wondering, well isn't it really inefficient to get him because we don't you do? He doesn't have melee weapons, it's like, sort of, yeah, sort of, although he can use guns and that's what we're going to try to equip him with, however, we need to build all this stuff for him, so he's going to be a class. melee we will eventually give you some really heavy armor gear, but for now we will just build these basic sets of gear and for that we will use almost all of our materials, a lot of our technology will be gone and in a couple of days.
We'll be able to equip you with all this equipment, okay, I think it's probably enough for the first day, that's a lot to take in. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know, but I'll pause it here when we get back, we'll probably have to do a couple of scans.I might end up leaving this guy at the base and then trying one of these other missions, one of the Haven defense missions with just our four, might be a challenge, but if you look out, it should be fine, we also need to set up a new area scan because this one is already done so we probably want to go north and start with that and then yeah we'll go from there and name this guy as well and have him ready to go. the next one for the next mission now, strategically, it would have made more sense to hire someone like this, someone like an assault because we have weapons that we can give them, but I wanted to show you some of the classes that are available here and let's just build it with what we have and We will try our best once promotions happen.
I'll start showing you all of this and how it works and yeah, we'll go from there. I hope this was a good first start to the campaign, if you wouldn't mind leaving a like on the video, it's the first in the series, it helps me a lot and if you're new here again, consider subscribing and hit the bell because it I will do. I upload them quite regularly and then you will receive notifications about new videos. Thank you all very much for watching them. Leave the names of your soldiers and a rough summary of what you'd like them to look like in the comments below. choosing at random from there also thank you very much see you soon bye for now
