dollar

tree

, we're going to need two hexagon gift box lids and these are also from the dollar tree. They now have a variety of different sizes and shapes to choose from, so you can select any you like. like now we're also going to use some large quartz sticks from Lowe's for 98 cents.

Now we're going to start with those hexagonal tops and I'm going to put a coat of chalk paint on the inside to give them a nice clean and fresh look. Now I'm just going to apply that chalk paint to cover all of the color, including the bottom and side edges of your eyelids. Now you want to repeat this for both eyelids until they are completely covered and I want to let them dry completely, so once they are dry, go ahead and pick them up and we're also going to take our

tower

blocks that we've already previously stained with our Jacobian stain of wax mim.

Now we're going to start applying those blocks around the lid and I'm

using

my secure binder hot glue with a wood stick hot glue stick on the inside. Now when we start applying the blocks, we want to make sure the bottom edge of the block is flush with the bottom. edge of the lid and we simply press this against the mat as we go around the edge. Now you can start anywhere you want. I started in the center just to look at it, but you want to add your blocks around that bottom edge. and make sure they're good and even now here I'm halfway there everything looks good so I'm going to continue working now here are all the blocks applied and the last little gap is too big for one of the blocks so we'll have to cut them out now to do this.

I'm just using a miter box that I bought at my local home improvement store. I have etched a block in the center and I'm just going to saw it halfway through, now you can easily purchase one of these miter boxes at your local home improvement store and they are very affordable. They come with a box and a saw and are 10-11 units so once the block is cut. Half of us will be able to use that in the project, so we're going to go ahead and take our piece and there it goes, it fits perfectly in that little slot, so we're just going to hot glue it in place and now we're going to repeat this for our another top adding the blocks around it and again there is a small space left and the other half of that block will fit perfectly in that space.
We're just going to hot glue it into place and there we go, our two lids have the blocks applied now to make our pocket cover. This is where those craft sticks come in and I'm going to go ahead and put up nine of these craft sticks now to make sure they're nice and I'm even going to use my carpenter's square that I also picked up from the dollar tree and I'm going to align them as closely as possible and then to attach them I will take two additional craft sticks and I will simply place them over all the craft sticks until they are all touching and then I will add a little hot glue to the back and secure them over all of them by pressing them together now once both sticks are in place.
You'll have a solid piece to work with, so now we'll take our hex piece and trace the bottom half of our hex box onto that stick and this will form the outline that will fit. On the top of the pocket cover now we're going to mark the sides where the middle is and along the bottom and then we're going to take a ruler to measure the top because we want the top to be nice and straight now so we can cut it out. . You can use scissors for the portions that don't have the double layer of the craft sticks, but once you get to the point where the craft stick is, you'll want to switch to a utility knife or an Exacta knife and a ruler. to cut now so I can cut them, I'm just going to score it two or three times with my exact knife and then it should bend easily and split in half evenly where you made the cuts and then you can repeat this with the rest. of the cuts on your piece now here is one of the cut out pieces for our pocket cover and I'll just lay it on top to see if there are any adjustments that need to be made and mark any additional areas that you may need will be cut out and then you can easily cut them out with a pair of scissors go ahead and test the fit again and everything will look good and now you want to repeat this for your smaller box for the other half of your craft stick piece, so now that we have our two pieces, let's move on Go ahead and stain them to match our minwax Jacobian stain and I'm just going to apply a good coat over the top of the piece and around all of those edges.
Now here is the piece. all covered and you don't need to dye the back as it won't show, you just want to make sure both pieces are dyed evenly now on the back, I'm just going to add another piece of craft stick just for a moment. of reinforcement and I'm going to add a piece to the back of each of those pocket covers. Now you just want to let them dry completely while they dry. I'm going to protect my chalk paint cover with some mod podge now. I like to use this matte mod podge to cover all the surfaces I paint with the paint and this will prevent chipping or scratching when inserting and removing different decorative accents in our pocket pot.
I'm just going to apply an even coat. on the inside of both boxes on those painted surfaces, so now that they're dry we can take the covers from our pockets and we're going to add them to the bottom half of our boxes now to adhere them, I'm just going to put one layer on. of my wooden stick with hot glue along the bottom half of the box and then press the pocket cover right on top making sure it is secured in place now once they are both in place let them dry completely and then we can go in and move on. and stain those exposed ends of the blocks to match everything with the paint and stain color.
Now here are the pieces all updated and dyed and now everything matches so we'll turn them around and I'll add a hanger now I'm just using some black ribbon that I had on hand but they have black ribbon on the dollar tree. I'm just going to cut a piece about two and a half to three inches long and form a bow on the back of the box. I'm just going to add a little bit of that hot glue to each end of that ribbon and secure it in place on the top of the box. Now you're going to repeat this for the smaller box like Okay, once that's done, you guys know I love to finish the back of my projects to cover all that artwork, so I'm going to grab some of this foam sheet black one I had on hand and this is just a craft foam.
I'm just going to cut a piece to cover big enough to cover the back of both of my boxes and I'm just going to line the back of the boxes with that hot glue and then press it onto that foam sheet now once both boxes They are nice and secure to the foam sheet, you can trim all the excess with your x-acto knife now, once they are nice and trimmed, they are ready to decorate and display and here are my two planner boxes, all hanging and decorated How adorable are these? Now I added some dollar tree succulents to my planters and I love the way they turned out.
Now you can add any type of artificial plants you like to complement your space and you have the option of placing them. on a shelf or even hang them as shown here, let me know what you think of this project in the comments below. Now this project is a set of wooden display boxes. Now we're going to need some dollar tree tower blocks and we're also going to need some of these dollar tree wooden cubes, so we're going to start working with our spinning tower blocks that we've already pre-stained with our Jacobian wax. de mem, now what we're going to do, we're also going to use our carpenter's square to make sure everything is right and even as we go along, we're going to put together two sets of three blocks and join them together as shown here and what we're going to end up doing is to make 20 sets of these six sets of blocks as shown now to glue them together.
We're just going to add hot glue to the side of each block and join them together. Now you do want to turn them around. See, this just makes it very even. Now we are going to make two sets of three blocks glued together first before putting them together. Now, once we have our two sets of three, we're simply going to rotate one set in the opposite direction until they are joined in the center as shown here. Now we're going to do this 20 times for two sets of boxes, so now that we have our two sets, I'm going to put four blocks in the set and that will be the two bottoms of two of my boxes, so now what we're going to do is take two of the blocks and I will apply hot glue along the side to join them together and make the pattern rotate as shown here once you make one.
Of these we are going to continue making eight of these to make our two boxes, so now that we have the eight sets, these are the sides of our boxes, so now we are going to work on the bottom of the box to join together. These together we will need two additional blocks in the center and we will use them as a spacer, so go ahead and join two blocks end to end first and then take that set of two blocks and join it to one of your six blocks. sets that you already made now, once they are joined together, we will finally join the last six blocks set on the other side.
Now this is one of the complete bottoms of the box and you just repeat this for the second one, so now that we have our two bottoms together, what we're going to do is start putting our box together, so we put together four sides and one bottom and we can start assembling, so let's grab the bottom first and put one of the sides on. the short ends on the box, just add some hot glue to the bottom and you want to line this up along with the edge. Now this is at the top of the set of blocks.
Now we are going to add on the two sides on top. bottom and they will be attached to the side and bottom, so you want to make sure to add hot glue to two sides of this set of blocks and press it against the set of blocks that you have already adhered in place just above the bottom. and you want to repeat this on the other side, so now that we have all three sides in place, there is a little gap at the bottom where this last piece will fit, so just add hot glue along those two existing side pieces and then add hot glue to the bottom of the side you will just add, slide it into place and press it securely and now you have a solid box as an accent.
I have four of these cubes that I've already pre-stained and I'm going to add one to each corner as little feet for my box. Now this is totally optional, but I think it just makes it look like a complete box. Now I'm moving it a little bit just to show you how sturdy this wooden stick is. Hot glue isn't going anywhere so now I'm just going to take my stain and stain all the exposed ends of the blocks and these are the completed blocks with all the stain in place and everything looks great just keep going and repeat. this for your second set and now you have two boxes of blocks and they are ready to decorate so now I took some of my favorite shamrock flowers and added them to the containers and they look great now that I added greenery to them.
I can add flowers, I think they all really make the wood shine in this project and I love the combination and I also love the visual appeal that this block design gives to these pieces. I think these little feet just amplify it a little bit. a little to make it a little more sophisticated now, if solid greenery is your thing, I love the eucalyptus bundles, they are also an option now you can use them for your suppliesfor the office, your makeup brushes for the coffee station, or any small items you need to display. style now this project is a set of round wooden vases we are going to need some dollar tree falling tower blocks we are going to need two round dollar tree gift containers and we will need two of these dessert cups sold in packs of six of the dollar tree now we're going to start with those round gift boxes and we're just going to go ahead and remove the lids, we're not going to use them in this project, now what we're going to do is I'm going to paint the inside of our containers with some black acrylic paint.
Now this is also optional, but I really think this gives it a finished look and makes it look very clean, so I painted about a half inch. on the outside as well because that will show on the inside of our containers when we're done and we want to repeat this for the other container and let them dry, so now that they're dry I'm going to protect it. paint with a little bit of matte mod podge and I'm just going to apply one coat on the inside and around the edge where we painted on both containers. Now, once they are almost dry, we can start adding those blocks to our containers.
Now I'm going to use my pre-dyed tower blocks and my jacobian mid mic dye for this project. Now I'm also going to use my Sheer Binder hot wood glue, so we'll start by adding those blocks along the bottom again, making sure to press. place it on the mat after adding each block, you want to make sure they are absolutely even, that way it will look copacetic throughout the process of adding rows of blocks, now you just want to add that first row and then take a look at it to make sure that everything is even. Here is our front row.
Now there's a little gap there, but we'll fix that later in the project, so now you just want to add the second row and put the blocks in. directly on top of the other block to make sure they are aligned. Now, this is important to make sure all exposed areas are covered throughout the project, so here's the second row. Now all you have to do is add the third row. here are the three rows in our container and the vase looks great just repeat this for your other container so here are both containers covered with the blocks and I mentioned before that there is a small gap, it's too small for one block so What I'm going to do is paint that space.
Now I'm going to mix a chocolate brown color and a little bit of black. I'm going to mix them until I get a dye color that's close to the dye. in my project and what I'm going to do is paint between that space with this color so that it blends with the blocks now, once you apply two or three coats of this paint, allowing them to dry directly in the middle, it will barely be note and your project will still look amazing now here is the paint added to the project everything looks good so now what I want to do is cover the bottom of my projects you guys know I love to finish them at the bottom too.
So I'm going to cut a piece of this black foam sheet to fit the size of the bottom of my two containers. Now I'm just going to add a little bit of hot glue to the bottom of the containers to make sure it fits properly. around the edge and around the middle or really good and then press the bottom of the container into that sheet of foam. You also want to repeat this with the other container and when they are both attached to the sheet, simply cut them with an x-acto. knife and trim off all the excess and here are the two bottoms of my containers, all nice and clean, now we're going to go ahead and stain those raw edges with that stain so everything matches now that I have this dessert cup, uh from the tree dollar and I'm going to use them as supports for my container and I wanted them to be optional and not permanent so what I'm going to do is first of all paint two coats of something Paint black acrylic on my dessert cups and let them dry completely between the mug and the coats, so now that both coats are nice and dry, I'm going to protect that finish with a little bit of modification, this is an important step because the paint will chip off easily.
Take these containers off and that mod podge seals them and gives them a protective layer, so go ahead and just add a layer to each of those containers so now that they're dry we can start working on adhering them to the container now. I mentioned before that I didn't want this to be permanent, so what I'm going to use is some of this self-adhesive elastic that I got from the dollar tree. Now this is a totally optional step. I'm just providing a different way to do it. You can display them if you want and it's completely removable if you want to match your decor in a different way, so I'm just going to cut a piece that will fit on the top of that dessert bowl or actually it would be the bottom.
I'm just going to add two pieces to the bottom, trimming them to fit and adding them to the part you didn't paint right in the center. Now I'm adding the soft part of the velcro on this piece that you are going to paint. trim it to fit, repeat that for your other container now for the firm stick or hook side of your velcro. I'm going to put it in the center of the bottom of the vase container that you made and I'm just cutting this out. down to match the size that is on the bottom of the container now, once it is glued in place this will be a removable velcro holder for your containers.
I'm just going to press one firmly onto that Velcro and now you have some supports on the bottom of your vases if you want to have them or you can remove them now to decorate them. I just added some onion herb and I really love this look. Now I love using dollar tree onion grass in my projects and it works perfect for this. project and these vases, oh my gosh, they think they look so amazing with these dollar tree items. Now I know I've seen something similar online for over thirty dollars so this is an awesome project and now you can change it up with the optional brackets and I love this look now too.
I love being able to change things up by making small optional updates like this and I hope you all enjoy recreating this look for your space too. Now that this project is a

modern

two-tier shelf, we are now going to need some rotating tower blocks for the dollar tree for this project. Now we're going to start with some unstained blocks for this project and use our carpenter's square to make sure everything is even. The first thing we're going to do is What I'm going to do is put together two sets of three blocks to make a set of six blocks.
Now, what we're going to end up doing is making eight of these six sets of blocks, so to glue them together, I'm first going to glue three blocks end to end and then I'm going to glue a second set of three blocks in the same way. Now once you have those two sets, you just stick them on top of each other and it's very important that you make sure that the ends match up and that they're even. Now simply place the other one on top, squeeze and now you have a set of six blocks. Now you want to repeat this until you have eight sets.
Now here are the eight sets of these six blocks. sets you need and the second thing we're going to do is make some sets of two blocks and this is simply combining one block on top of the other. Now we're going to do this for eight sets of two blocks as well and here are all of those sets ready to go, so now we're going to take one of those six sets of blocks and we're going to add one of the two sets of blocks to each end like shown here to make a U shape so just add a little bit of hot glue all the way to the end and place one of those two sets of blocks on each end and this is what your piece will look like and we're going to repeat this until we have four of these U-shaped pieces, now here they are all. four of our U-shaped pieces and our straight pieces, so now that they're all finished, we'll paint them now.
I'm going to use some black acrylic paint to paint these pieces. Now I'm just going to apply a little bit. black acrylic paint on all outside surfaces of these pieces, you just want to make sure the exposed extreme areas are not painted, you don't need to paint them, you just want to paint the outside edges, now here are all of our painted pieces. and you want to let them dry completely, so while they're drying we're going to work on our blocks that we've already pre-stained with our Jacobian dye and then with wax. Now what we are going to do is We are going to put together about nine blocks and what we are going to do is join them all together.
Now we are going to make 12 sets of 9 blocks and this will be the base of our shelves so we are going to start gluing them on the long side end now when you glue them make sure to use a ruler and rotate the set as you go . I think this makes your pieces much more uniform. Now here you have one of our nine sets of blocks, you want to repeat this for 12 sets as shown here, so now we're going to start putting together one of our shelves, so go ahead and grab six of those sets, now we'll put them all together one next to each other. and pleasant and even throughout the period.
Now, to attach them, you need to run a bead of hot glue along the edge and start pressing them firmly to eliminate any gaps or air bubbles. Now you're going to repeat this until all of those. Six sets are glued together and now, to form one solid piece of wood, you are going to repeat this for the other set until you have the two shelf pieces, so now we are going to gather all the painted pieces together and we can begin the assembly of our shelf. , so go ahead and grab one of your shelves and we're going to grab two of the U shapes.
Now we're going to apply those U shapes to the top of the shelf and we want to apply them. this on the last row of blocks right in the center, now we are going to apply the other one in the same place at the opposite end. This will be the bottom of our shelf, so go ahead and flip it over and let's go. To grab our individual pieces as shown here, we're going to place one on top of each corner and also place it in the center of the last block in each corner. You're just going to put a little bit of hot glue on the end and you want to make sure the placement is lined up with the bottom piece so it looks like one continuous piece, now you want to apply one to each of the corners so here are all of our pieces applied to the top of our shelf so now we can add the top layer of our shelf we'll just place it right on top of those supports just generously add some of that hot glue right on top and add that second shelf so there you go all is added and everything looks good and now all you have to do is add the other two U pieces the same way we did for the bottom of the shelf and here is our shelf and it is nice, sturdy and ready to decorate , how easy was that, so here you go.
Modern two-tier case for all your favorite decor pieces. Now these shelves ended up being a lot dirtier than I thought and I tested them with a three pound weight on each shelf without any problems. Now you can also use wood glue. I just want to make sure it dries completely before using it. Now this shelf is perfect for all my decor and I love this elegant way to display them now.
