Well, the competition part is the track. Basically, it's designed to focus a little more on the track, a little more fun. Unfortunately, the fun doesn't translate into more power under the hood. It is the same 2.9 liters. V6 found in the standard car rated at the same 444 BHP, that doesn't sound like much fun, but Audi has changed the transmission, they've modified it slightly, so now acceleration is even quicker, it won't. 62 two tenths faster than before, so 3.9 seconds if you're interested and top speed is now 180 miles per hour. This is the new Audi Plus I sports exhaust system. I have to say it sounds good, right? I'll take him down to the second floor. Oh, there's a little pop on the gear shift that's a pretty strange sounding exhaust, obviously not nearly the craziest we've ever heard, but on this day. and it ages well, it's all very subdued, that noise is quite a welcome sound, so so far we have an engine that doesn't make any more power acceleration, which only makes a subtle difference, albeit with a lighter, fruitier exhaust and We don't have much in the way.

But if you dig a little deeper, you'll find that there's actually more. For this car in the UK, all versions of the RS4 Competition will come with some pretty nifty suspension manually adjustable coil-over shock absorbers. It even comes with a nice little presentation box with the tools inside to make any necessary adjustments. You can lower it 20 millimeters and make them. as hard or as soft as you want if they can bother you. I suspect most people won't mind because let's face it, most RS4 owners just want to take their dogs to wait. I'm not 100 sure how Audi has set up this particular car, but it's an interesting ride, let's just say, it's pretty firm.
I've noticed it and on some b-rolls where there are potholes the suspension bottoms out, you can feel it hitting the bumpers quite aggressively, the damping is quite good so on these smoother roads where there are no potholes it works quite well fine, but if you live on rougher roads and drive with a Labrador behind you I suspect it won't be as happy with you, it's fantastic in the corners and that's partly down to the diff. which, especially in Dynamic mode, gives the car more emphasis on turning the rear axle in corners, which in theory gives it better cornering handling.
It's hard to say exactly how much difference that sporty differential makes but what I will say is that the car feels very good in the corners, you'd normally expect an Audi to be a bit soulless, it's not that interesting in the bins but this is really very nice, how is the gearbox? I have it in manual mode. I'm using the paddles, it responds reasonably on the way down, ok, no I take it back, it's not giving me the gears I want now, it could do with a better gearbox, but the sound makes up for it. I guess the suspension is nowhere near its It's the softest on this particular car because there is a little bit of body roll, you can feel the car swaying slightly, but it's all very well controlled and which is really good. it's the address.
Audi has gotten rid of the variable steering rack as standard. RS4 and went for a constant ratio and it feels absolutely stunning, there's actually quite a bit of feedback to the wheels and it's very predictable when you're going through corners, it's a real pleasure to accelerate through a corner, it feels like an oldie. school rally car, right, what are the brakes like? Yeah, nice and strong, really satisfying, I haven't felt any fade so far, they just keep going as long as you keep hitting them, that's really reassuring, but the overriding feeling you get from this car is just one of joy. the suspension makes it feel really alive, really alert, the steering is nice and pointed, yes this is very much a driver's car, the RS6 its big brother often gets a lot of applause but let me tell you this car It feels a lot more fun.
It really is such a fun car to drive. Honestly, I'm enjoying it by loosening up some of the luxury, some of the niceties and making it a little more raw, especially with the suspension, noise and steering that they actually have. It completely reminded me how capable and fun the RS4 is. It's about to disappear. It's going to be discontinued, which is a real shame because to this day it withstands scrutiny. I'm thinking about when I drove the Mercedes C63, the new one. Model with a hybrid propulsion system that has much more power than this one, but in terms of commitment there is absolutely no competition.
This RS4 is light years ahead of him. It may not be as smart as the BMW M3 Touring with its switchable rear-wheel drive. -all wheel drive system and you can't drift it, you know there's no electric oversteer here but for the sheer pleasure of it it's closer than you think, you know what car is worth £85,000 and it's a fitting farewell to the RS4, well, I. I have to say that yes, it doesn't grab the headlines with any particular feature, but for sheer enjoyment it's right up there with the best fastest dates ever for my money. I would still buy an M3 touring simply for the more dynamic and engaging driving experience aka the fact that you can slide it and also for the more modified interior and technology package, but for sheer fun factor this RS4 is certainly not up to par. a million miles behind, it's an incredibly fun and exciting driver's car that will never fail to put a smile on your face thanks
