Music Breakdown: Blue Devils 2019 SnarebreakJun 09, 2021
so in today's video we're going to go over the
bluetones 419 snare break break it up phrase my phrase and also talk about what we did to combat the issues we had when we got into some of these phrases so let's get off to a good start first thing we we did a tattoo and then after that yeah and a three but that hit will be a right right right left left with the phlegm on that first note then we have a hit and then we have one and two okay there we just stopped we got a five on and that's a little bit awkward right hand or left hand so let's stop there so the way you start talking about this phrase is like we talk about a philosophy faster than anything when we have on this , the three to the sixth and the five on, so we think we think of them as cousins or related to each other. of breaking it is what you try to play as many notes as possible just for training so we can find that first initial pitch to the left and then after trying to hear a five beat it's a little awkward at first because it relates to all them together like a velocity though after we only have four eighth notes and then we find my last note after that it's just the triplets we have and two reversed so same thing cheese cheese then after that the next night I figure the way when we break this down at first i was just playing the full figure worrying how open that chili is great and then after that i found the pain there not playing with a bad back great then after that i got a bad back there, but trying to find the same opening we did when we had when we didn't trying to find the same similarity as the first strange sentence, s We just have to raise a sleeve on the edge and then on beat 1 in the next measure we take a sixth towards the center after that have a triplet which ta takes us to the core there is no triplet we have a pancake on that curvature but feels like a 45 degree angled wristwatch after this we have two hertz on the right now this definitely took us a while to figure out I think everyone individually started to realize it. what it was for them this is something we had to keep working on as individuals something Nick had us do was play this manual so we found out the Upshur has to wait for the first thing and first note and speed of that third part of that first part that just takes a lot of individual practice trying to find that rhythm usually we were always squashed and always tight the air is usually going to be a little bit tight very similar to this Indian speed I would say this is the same way, the same thing as throwing a little faster to get more bounce, so yeah, but this was a little more specific because you're trying to find not just a pitch but actual control. ing that's better parts of that first staff so you have a quick wash you throw but after that you have a quick tee now after that we have hey mom Shawn that third set count 3 and the treble on count four on the right hand taking we're going to count the water in the next beat so yeah the next thing we have is a pair of little triplets that have a bus on the first left and a bus on the second right and those buses they will be a little shorter than on the third count we only have three and four and getting ready for the next six without pattern The brass phrase says now we are going to go into the 16 in patterns these next two bars I will break them down as one 84 1 and B 4 so i try to find that group of macros so we have a dotted flick on the first three beats and then a corner fill for that beat of four 4 then 1 and E 4 and 1 84 which first measure we have a couple of that s on 6 notes and then one is twenty four and then five Shogun watch out now after that we have a dotted eighth feeling what but we have those on the first three patterns then we have a then after that we have two fives so the first two times we have excellent one and acid on four five finding that counts three and then I'll risk three and four we have action on three four so we have and then you just add the little patterns in there and you get used to it now to get into the very, very part awkward, the fastest segments of this time so if you don't know roughly five over three is basically you're putting five ons in the space of three eighth notes, normally we'd just play an eight nut bar on 34 and a five lip bar , so I would break it down by just touching the action pattern because you check what is always going to be one and the attitude is very very uncomfortable to get used to definitely define tively definitely definitely definitely time this segment and make sure your feet are really on time okay next thing it's a little faster than five or three and sligh really sore than 60 nuts so it's a 11 lit over six eight nuts what you would think would be an 11 went through three coordinates a good way to break this down one two three eleven so it sounds a bit like it's very very complex I don't think I've ever played in the limit before so it's kind of weird so definitely take it easy see what the hell is going on good so next is this triplet cool and then take it to a six set count so two behind him to even the pace I think that's what helped me the most is just listening so moving on to the next race is if you want to go down two times to be good good not great so we have a triple drop and after that we have a pair of five light sticky peridot kind of sticky kind of sticky so the second left will be on the mannequin so we have and then we have flaccid parts of his personal triplet okay now we go in a split part oh i'll say you're going to split this up a bit please ow a nine on with dogapus ticking and then we fool them.
I mean this is probably the only part of the
musical word. I think we learned this more than I did. I played accurately, so a group expects two beats. had a buzz on Shana three ok so now we just have some inverted sixes so take this count three one three doesn't stick that's right the problem with this one was just going out of what we just played and then going into a open six length then on count three we have a five on we have a diddle in the first set a Shaun in the second set right hand in the third set and a flam tap left hand in the last 2 in 45 leading up to the last thing as well as i would break this part it's breaking right hand only or our mistake with this part was a little tight with what's left opening that now it's amazing now we have the last measurement the only weird thing about this is the last few 5 was 3 has a 5 over the last five more than three has a forward or more than three within the 5 over 3 so the first three beats pretty much see when you get to the last one on the left you're going to play four or notes instead of three notes instead of training instead of playing the same thing again.
Again, well, you get to the last word here. Great for me to respond to the breakup. There's a lot of stuff in there that I don't think anyone has played before, which is actually really exciting. It's great because I think we definitely try to push the limits. of what we could do um trying to try to make this activity a little play play some new stuff hope you enjoyed this
