Most Important Scouting Job - Eagle Scout October Status Update

Feb 18, 2020
Hey guys Matt Gutman, impeccable video here and today will be my October Eagle Scout

status

update

in just two years. I haven't completed many merit or rank badges this one, but what I have been doing is focusing on Leadership not just towards myself and towards the other Scouts in my troop. Now just a quick overview. There are seven Scout ranks, 16 leadership positions, and 21 merit badges that you need to be an Eagle Scout now, instead of just focusing on myself. I've been trying to teach. The other Scouts in my troop have different responsibilities, organizational skills, and leadership skills, so I can delegate objectives to them to keep me busy with all these different parts of the work I need to do now.

Frank wisely, I haven't completed anything yet, but the ranks I got are

scout

rank. I actually made videos on how to get this rank, so check the link is in the description. Tenderfoot rank, second class, first class and currently a star

scout

. That's five of the seven ranks, now leadership positions, like I said before, I was a senior patrol leader, but the ones I've been before are quartermaster, den chief patrol leader, instructor and I was a senior patrol leader, which That's what this video is going to cover. be based and now I'm aiming to get another leadership position now here's a bit of a sad story now that I quit my troop now this doesn't mean I stopped exploring it's that I had a very good reason for Scott not to leave anything Also, no I liked it, it changed completely since I was in charge and I'm not just saying that because it was a different way, it literally wasn't how Boy Scouts are supposed to be so I'm transferring to a new troop anyway.

More Interesting Facts About,

most important scouting job eagle scout october status update...

I'm trying to get an assistant senior patrol leader there, so instead of having 5 of the 16, I now have a new leadership role as assistant senior patrol leader, at least that's what I'm hoping for because then I'll be able to continue my months of being active. There are many more leadership positions in a troop, but I feel that being assistant senior patrol leader will be helpful to me as it allowed me to help out. I won't have to do all the work, but I still have experience so I can help. but the troop I'm joining now is five of the sixteen, hopefully it will be six soon when I was talking about Boylan, that's what

scouting

is supposed to be to be led by the scouts with the guidance of the adults .

If you are in a troop and you notice that maybe the adults are focusing too much on just a couple of Scouts or maybe the adults have taken control completely, I'm not saying your troop is wrong, I'm just saying that maybe you need something . be better organized to use more Scouts our leadership positions or more Scouts or plan things that's how

scouting

is supposed to be that's why the term is called Scout led now when I join a new troop or even when you You join a new troop. What are the things you should look for?
most important scouting job eagle scout october status update
Oh oh. I've compiled a list of things I'm looking for when joining the troop, of course, the

most

important

thing is that Scouts provide leadership or a term that many other people have heard, Boylan, but now. people say scout leadership, so I also want a troop to be quite organized, has schedules, has future planning for events and activities, people guide each other, not just give orders to each other, where is the hierarchy of superiors . the class just gives orders to everyone else, everyone gives each other guidance, everyone learns from each other and everyone contributes to the troop and of course they are asked to provide a fun experience because then why are you there? ?
Now it's fun if it doesn't even belong to you if it doesn't. be subject to everyone in general now what I said about events a troop must have at least one activity per month preferably a camp but it doesn't have to be a camp some examples are biking or cycling as shown here swimming walking fishing basically any event that can be considered a troop activity outside of the scheduled meeting time, so again make sure a troop has a yearly calendar of some kind or at least some featured event plans so you can have activities for the ranks or just for the experience with just a little bit of pre-planning you can create a really good experience if you communicate it to everyone and also if you have a plan to start with, if you just show up to an event with nothing to do then you are literally trapped there.
It's like going to camp without any goal, however, if you plan ahead, like this event here during summer camp, you can really have a fun time. This was an Indian event where there was dancing drum music and they even shot a cannonball at the end which was very nice to see and there were also fireworks shows which went on for a while and actually just a little more planning and real effort in scanning can make a big difference to you and others, so keep this in mind. You can, it's not just about being in exploration, oh, it's boring, you can do it however you want, as long as you make the effort to do it that way.
Now just a couple more things to ensure that the Scouts actually move forward and not. stuck in a rank there was a kid in my troop or my old troop who literally stayed in the same rank for over two years because the adults took over and we're not focusing on everyone, they were just focusing on a couple of Scouts we too. you want to grow personally to learn new skills if you are not learning if you are not integrated into the scouting program then you are not really gaining anything from it also make sure that a troop abides by the law of the Scout Oath outer code and faith and there is adequate communication between the troop.
I can't tell you how many times my troop has been rushed due to a miscommunication, maybe an email wasn't sent or maybe the timing got mixed up, so make sure you're not just a nominee. It is not organized, but it is transmitted to everyone, it communicates the truth. I've been talking about more troops, but all of that also plays into an SPL, so you need to know what a troop is supposed to be like in order to be. an SPL because as I mentioned in other previous videos, the SPO is the top of the hierarchy or as you can say, the PLC, which is the patrol leaders committee, the SPO, which is the main leader of the patrol, is at the top now before we get into First let's talk more about my

status

update

and then I'll talk more about the senior patrol leader so like I said before I was a Star Scout, I completed this over the summer and it was actually a great achievement for my career as an explorer.
So for a life explorer, I'm 46 percent of the way there because I'm still waiting to get hours of service, which is what I need six, but that's in progress. I also need a couple more things, but duty hours are when I'm mainly focusing on the fact that you need to be active for at least six months as a star scout, which doesn't worry me as much since I'll be joining another troop very soon demonstrates the spirit Scout, earn five more merit badges, so you have eleven in total. To include a Star Scout person, you need to participate in six hours of service, three of them must be related to conservation and be active for six months. in a position of responsibility or in leadership positions, that's why I mentioned the assistant senior patrol leader that I wanted. be in my new troop and also use the cutting edge method to teach another Scout and that's really all I need.
I already have the Scout spirit demonstrated. I have all five more merit badges. I only need the six month and six hour waiting period. of service for Eagle Scout, I'm sixty-one percent of the way that's in progress, that's the whole goal of my channel and my overall goal for exploring the Eagle Scout merit badge is I'm not going to list them all because 'It's the same as my last status update, so I won't name them all again. I'll just say that technically I have 20 of the required 21, but that's just technical because it's 20 total, not the 20 that are required for Eagle.
If that makes sense based on the number of badges I have with silver rings around them that an

eagle

required, I actually only have 17 out of 21, which means I still need four more, now the previous ones, which I need our family life citizenship in community communication and personal fitness which I have not started yet, but very soon I will. Some non-Eagles that I'm working on just to get more experience are reading archeology merit badges and salesmanship, so hopefully in the next few months I'll have more Eight more mayor badges and also, if I get all four at the top they will be enough for the 21 that I need for Eagle Scout so I actually made a video on camping last week so please check that leak link will be in the description I think.
It is very useful because I cover very

important

tips and tricks for earning the camping merit badge. Another merit badge I earned is cooking. This was a long one, but I finally completed it last month and also the emergency preparedness. I started over at summer camp and then completed in my free time the mayor badges I'm working on now are communications. I'm ninety-two percent of the way there, so that's a work in progress. Family life. I need to finish a few more things, but no. just a few, but I'm al

most

done with a few more things, so it says 44, but once I'm done with these last things, I'll have the mayor badge, so that's in progress, citizenship in the community, twenty-nine percent in progress, salesmanship.
I'm ten percent and archeology six percent railroad three percent reading zero percent I haven't started it yet but I'm planning to and the last mayor badge I'm trying to get is personal aptitude, which is one of the required Eagle and that's zero because I haven't started, I haven't started it yet, speaking of starting things, why do I start explaining what SPL is and maybe my time as an SPO? Now there are common misconceptions. SPO is not in charge of everyone. SPO is in charge. in charge of the POC and is in charge of doing all the planning in the background as they don't really like to say what exactly happens at each event, they are just doing the planning in the background for what may be where they are going . the price maybe contacting people and the SPO is in charge and they supervise all the other people in the troop and the PLC now they don't do all the work they delegate from the PLC they can delegate to the senior assistant patrol leader which they can delegate to the patrol leaders and when you do that it works efficiently as a troop as a whole, so the SPL is literally the backbone of the troop without a fully functioning SPL, you can't have a fully functioning troop now, in my time as an SPL, I was able to build up a dead troop, but eventually I got to 12 and I was able to get it going and that's why I wanted to provide leadership, not swords, but towards others in the troop because as soon as I finish SPO, that means Someone needs to take my shoes and do all the things I've been doing.
I have been trying to teach the other Scouts about the different leadership positions. I've been trying to get them to be more organized. I've been delegating more objectives to the patrol leader to see if they can get by without me doing everything and so far I've worked and now that I'm literally not in the troop, I hope they can hold their own. My favorite time in Petrolia is probably during summer camp because everything has worked out. everything went so well that there were essentially no problems and summer camp was probably my favorite time because we had a schedule, everything went well, we've been planning it for about a month and when we got there we just set our stuff up and started planning. more things and what we are going to do what times what days certain events happen and it was probably one of the best times my troop has been able to work together thanks for watching my October Eagle Scout status update in just two years if you enjoy Like the video and activate notifications on my channel and see you in the next one
