He probably would yes, but he didn't. We were watching some of the clips and we saw the home run you hit off Barney Schultz in 1964 in the world series it won the game and it also broke Babe Ruth's record for most home runs in the world series which is her most exciting moment as far as home runs. and gamesWow, yeah, you know, I played in 2,401 games as a Yankee, which is more than any yang. A lot of people don't realize that because they think they hurt me all the time, but there's so many good things happening like I got into the hall of fame on my first try, you know, the three most valuable players leading the league and only getting 12 12 championships, our American League championships in the first 14 years, so many good things happening it's pretty hard to pick one.

I think probably if I had one thing I could pick, it would have been 19 like 1969. I think they had Mickey Mantle day at the stadium, this was before they renovated the stadium and like 72,000 people showed up. and they took me around the grounds in a golf cart and they retired the number seven and I think at that time they had only retired the numbers three, four and five for ruth, gary and dimaggio and I mean for a kid from Commerce Oklahoma to have his uh The uniform retired with those three guys and hanging on the center field wall at Yankee Stadium was really something and now the Mickey Yankee Stadium medal is all yours.

I was there that day. I was there for that one and also the one they gave you a day while. You were still an active player in 1965 and I can say very honestly that it's one thing to even be a quarter away from a standing ovation, but those people wouldn't stop, most people don't realize what it's like to have 10 minutes of sustained applause and cheers. it was all just 10 people they just didn't want to stop and you tried to get up to the microphone to speak and they wouldn't let you that was uh and remember you know speaking at home plate at Yankee Stadium is pretty difficult and I'm thinking about what I have to say well and to keep sitting there and applauding, I'm still sitting there thinking I have to be saying this, you know, and all of a sudden, when they stop, you've almost lost your train of thought, you know?

And now I was scared to think that the Yankees are retiring my number seven, with numbers three, four and five, everything I could ever want. I've often wondered how a man who knew he was going to die could stand here and say he was the luckiest man in the world, but now I think I know how Lou Gehrig fell. This is, uh, you have a thing now with the watch where there are 536. special editions of a watch I wonder if you think you know everything about me well, I know very well anyway this is the watch, can you take a photo of it? you want to do it, okay, this is, uh, this is a special edition watch. 18 karat gold, right, that's 536 of them for my 536 home runs.

It's a limited edition 18 karat gold that's number seven for my seventh home run, so that's one through 536 and there won't be anything but 536 i. I should make a deal with you and you've signed it on the back if you can tell me who I hit my seven. Well, you will receive a letter with the watch in a brown teak box. It is a very pretty box with velvet. inside and there's a letter in there that I signed and it says this is my seventh home run. I got it so-and-so from so-and-so and okay, the date, do you know who's seventh home run?
Well, you told me that I knew them all from 400 onwards, well, I know I am in fact, I know them all. I'll give it to you, if you can get it, if you get that one, I'll give you watch number seven, I see. I know number one came from a guy named Gumpert, Randy, from the Chicago White Sox. He knew I wouldn't ask you that number seven, so it would have been 1951 because you had 13 home runs as a rookie. I hope not. Don't get me started on this, those things cost 2000 each. What you give me? You give me 400 to come.
I'm going to spend 1600 um. What team were you against? Give me, I'm not going to keep you. You know, here. Uh, I guarantee you all will sit there, let's forget it, I say virgil trucks, you have the, you have the right year, was it detroit, was it against detroit?, okay, I have to look back, yeah, I'll give you a hint, It's against Boston and the guy looks a lot like the trucks, he's against Boston, he looks a lot like the trucks, he should have been a hard pitcher to the right and an older guy, an older guy, a hard pitcher at the same time , they looked a lot like these two guys, the right-handed, uh, dave ferris.
Well, no, it's good, but don't play along at home, aren't you okay? Who did you hit this home run off of Ellis Kander, Ellis Kinder, ladies and gentlemen, after this, depending on when we're recording, it's happy birthday. days before, if we go by when people see this, it's happy birthday, a day late, but either way, it's good to see you again.
