Apr 18, 2024
Welcome guys, Tobin, here with you and thanks for visiting the channel. The Miami Heat

lost

their first

play

in game 105 104 and now we will venture back home and wait for the winner of the Bulls and Hawks. I'm recording this as that game. is happening I don't know who it is we'll deal with it tomorrow um Crusher crusher

lost

today Miami um had a great first half had a great uh defensive game plan in the first half with the Zone, but this look I'll say it going into the first la half I wasn't very cocky for a couple of reasons: one, I know this Miami Heat team, 12 points isn't much and you had to

have

known Philly was going to go on some kind of run, they were turning the ball over.

Like crazy, I mean, yeah, Miami caused some of that. Jimmy Butler had four steals, there was some disruption. Miami

play

ed a really brave and tenacious first half and I really felt like they made Philly very uncomfortable, but the shot was, I mean, the shot was. terrible on both sides of this, like if you look at the first half of the series while they led by 12, they shot 42%, they were 6-20 from the middle, uh, Jimmy had gone to the free line, a group that was a thing which was very You can tell, but yeah, Philadelphia, you know it was three 18s from downtown and everyone was talking about the Zone, oh, the SPO Zone, it's here, it's back, but obviously you know that three 18s by three, it's going to be an important factor.

More Interesting Facts About,

They really did a great job with Maxi and they were both fighting from the field and they need someone else to step up and I think from now on this will probably be known to Heat fans. If this season comes to an abrupt halt, that will always remind you of Nick Patum's play and what that did to the Miami Heat's playoff chances. Very physical game, but there were definitely some crazy things that happened in this one, but also. Miami got off to a great start in the first quarter, in the first half of this game, the most important thing and we're all going to be sitting here waiting right now is Jimmy Butler's health.

Jimmy Butler was not there. He couldn't finish this game. He had allowed Kelly UB to beat him in one that really was the dagger of this. He got beat on a great pass from Joel Embiid, but you know you could see Jimmy was gone. I couldn't corral him at all, you know, look at his free throws, it was all in the first half, once he had that break at halftime and basically stopped moving, he pretty much had the three-point shot and that was it. there was just nothing in the tank there for Jimmy Butler and yeah, it was brutal, I mean, SPO Kelly UB just goes up like Bruce Lee and comes down and hits Jimmy, you know,

knee

s him in the

knee

on the way down and Jimmy Butler he's in a lot of pain and SPO is sitting there saying, "Hey, what was it you might like?" and they go to a shot immediately of Alonzo Morning and Pat Riley and Pat Riley just and To my surprise, Jimmy just stayed in the game and stayed in the game and played really well, you know, he was wreaking havoc, he was, he was hitting threes , uh, heh, but you could notice a lot, like everyone else.

Right when the game was happening, he was basically just shooting from the point and that's all he had left. You had a really great first half, especially from Delan Wright Miami, then he started hitting some threes as the first half came to an end, you got a three from Caleb Martin, you got a three from uh, you got three balls from Delon, you got three balls from Tyler Hero and then you get into the first half and you

have

a dozen and you know Stephen A Smith was kind of strutting because he's like I told you unbi wasn't going to be great but you know I think we're all used to it to this season, you know the shoe will probably drop in Miami and the crusher for this one is.
It really felt pretty strange because the crowd was dead, you know, like they were starting to get going and they were starting to make some shots and they were getting it, you knew they were starting to escalate into it, but Miami always seemed to be there. there was a point where Joel got a B uh he got a bucket in bam Maxi took a small step back and his stars started to understand it Jimmy comes back and hits a three from Tyler points right at him um Bam gets a huge block and Caleb Martin made a foul going to the rim and you're thinking at this point the

heat

is fine you're uh I think they were up 11 at this point get up 13 miss first the crowd is starting to go crazy free chicken Chick-fil-A, which is crazy because we were sitting here, this crowd had nothing to be happy about, they were either dead, dead, dead or they were booing, they had no interest in their Philadelphia 76ers and Caleb Martinus is the next free throw.
Crow is going crazy. and Nicholas Matum responds that bang, hit a three, they get it, you know, then a turnover by

heat

goal 10 reduced to six, so you go, drive immediately cut in half in a split second brutal sequence brutal from Caleb Martin, who you know plays like a ball of fire like everyone else, you know he's going to play all over the place and up until that point I thought he was playing well, but that was a brutal performance from Twin Man, he was, you're going to that one that One will stick in your mind in this game where it really played out, but the heat was still in a pretty good place.
You know the Sixers were obviously going to make their run and they were going to go for it. Understand this, this in their response, but they were understanding Batum when he hit those three, when he started hitting threes, it really relieved the pressure on Philly, you know, you can feel a lot of those things, um, and you know, I think what really notes is that you reach the end of this half haime hakz. There was a crazy sequence at the end of the third quarter where you had uh jool embiid, he looked really bad and, frankly, he felt.
It's a lot like the game was about to go down with him because he wasn't doing much in this game and then at the end there's this possession where he misses a jumper dying to shoot misses a jumper on Kevin Love Sixers get the rebound Kick him back and he just complains Kevin Love Comes Back, hits a three, then Campaña responds and then Haime Hakz c

lose

s out the third quarter, hits a three and Haime, you know, will obviously come to the killer play. That, you know, ultimately sunk this game for Miami, but Haime in his first fallout stint with the Miami Heat thought he played very, very well for a rookie in that type of environment, and especially like you know you didn't get anything today. offensively. by Bam adabo um you know Bam had some key moments.
I know he does other things, some big blocks, some big rebounds here, but you really know you didn't feel much from him, especially in that quarter. fourth where it looked like he was running away, you knew Jimmy Butler was cooked at this point like he was doing nothing but coming in the fourth quarter, you know Miami has a five point Le, but their guys are fighting, you know, Bam and Tyler, both. in single digits at this point, Tyler had 4177 going into the fourth quarter, uh, Jimmy had 17 points and four, 16 shots, you know, a lot of that was in the first quarter, like Jimmy Butler basically wanted his points. like you know he had a couple of threes, a couple of steel buckets and then he got fouled like that

injury

really changed him man it's a big bummer.
I'm not making excuses like he definitely had his chance to win this game, we'll get here in just a second, but that was brutal. Bam, you know the heat was going to need someone to step up and, uh, Tyler got it going. You know he scored 16 points in the fourth quarter. You know he and he got it right. some big shots, sure, but it was um, yeah, this was just a heartbreaker man, so Philly takes the lead. Nick Batum puts it on. I think eventually at the top, they get there. Nick Batum hits a three again and um, the guy is on fire.
He keeps hitting three after three after three, bam, you know, turn the heat back up to two. Paul takes an alleyoop again that puts him on 84 and then Jimmy picks a six. I think that was the only bucket of his, this was really remarkable, Jimmy. He gets another pick six in this game and he brings the UH, he brings the heat to the two, but you can see they're going to show off right away and he's really sooooo grimacing like he's like oh boy, he's he, he's on a lot. of pain and they go to break and like they can see the camera they're going to like it um it's like reaching for the bench so it wasn't great I don't know what this means for Friday but they come out of there there's a timeout from Philly Midway via haime haakas hits a slam puts Miami up um and then there were a couple of there were a couple of big plays you know Hero can get the Flingo so Miami gets a little bit of breathing room to go up three and Maxi goes to the hoop there's a big putback from Nick Patum off his Miss SPO calls a timeout with four minutes left and this was, uh, this was, you know, getting out of it. uh Jo embiid goes to uh goes to the line and SPO, you could see right away, that was a bust, he's like he's so mad that hak, uh you know, he bit him, but he's also so mad at the officials for biting.
I continue with the embid stuff and I want to say that he is a guy with wind tights, he is the biggest person I have ever seen. I don't understand how he is the most immovable force in the league and yet he is always on the court. I don't get it and JJ Reic right before in the game was like fawning over him he's like oh my gosh he's like you know people uh he goes up to jool and beid for harassing Doris but come on that's a ability, I think it's because he has two big fouls on him in bam at the beginning of the game where they were having, you know, a lot of success before the heat made its appearance and Doris is like, I think it's a JJ play, ya you know, and Doris loves some Jo embiid as she thinks. like if you asked who Doris Burg's favorite is it would probably be like LeBron obviously if you ever heard Doris Burg call a Lebron game like LeBron you could just blink it would be like oh my god did you see what he did right there but uh but jool and beid could be second because jool and beu like who couldn't hit water if he fell off a boat for much of this game and didn't have a good shooting game you really know that It was Str, he was like us.
I'm going to let Joelan be, you know, they pushed him back for three really critical ones, um, because what did you end up with? He finished six to 17, 23 points, you know, he gutted it, don't get me wrong, but like he wasn't having a great shooting game and there was one where, uh, he hits these big three that gave him the lead back and dor is like idiots, how do you do that? I say I don't know whether to try it now, he hit that one and then he had. the big ending that he was an absolute killer.
I don't know how he could have changed that at Haywood, he fouls him there because you know Kyle Lowry, that Rascal God, he's a pain in the ass. There was a point where Kyle Lowry was helping us like he refused to score and was doing some dumb stuff, but then he does that vet Savvy thing where after the flop Lowry takes it out of uh haime hakz and they give it to em The three of them drank four. and dors, oh how do you do that so Hood iith gets a runner, ties it at 96 and then uh, stops him and this was the killer play so he stops it even though it's low? bam R gets the rebound with less than a minute left and Kyle Low is on him.
He attempts to make a pass to hero Tyler, who is pushed from behind by Nick Batum into the backcourt. He touches the ball with his foot on the line. he fields the ball for the Sixers and yes, that was a killer. Uber gets the bucket and one, you know, Jimmy

lose

s them, three radios go up, he calls a timeout and, uh, Nick Batum blocks a three-hero ball from Tyler and that was pretty much all he wrote. You know they went back and forth with the game, one thing that was noticeable once they got to that point, although after Tyler, after Tyler Hero was blocked and they were starting to play the incoming game, they took Jimmy Butler out of the court, they didn't.
He basically didn't close the game at what point in the game. I guess it was like the last 20 seconds, but you know how that dirty play goes and they didn't even notice it on ESPN. I was like, oh, aaya Martin, out there and been, uh, and Caleb Martin, you know, was benched after his display in the third quarter, so yeah, just a brutal man, the heat, the Heat definitely had their chances to set them up as the seventh seed, you know, reminiscent of all year. Throughout the year you know that you are going to think about some things here that were reflected in this season and the first of them is Jesus, they can't score so badly in the midfield, you are going to notice that you know the injuries that were a story throughout the whole year. the year, they got bit even in the game, you couldn't have Terry Roier for this game, Duncan Robinson didn't play in this game and then Jimmy Butler got hurt and, you know, and he gave up double digits. leads like all those themes of the season and they all came to haunt Miami and you have to wonder what this team is thinking with their star coming in on Friday night, whoever wins this second game, but I gotta be honest with you, man , like me.
I'd be surprised if Jimmy Butler played on Friday and I'm not saying I'm not suggesting he bench him, you could tell this guy was suffering a lot.Passthat game is not very comfortable, we know Jimmy Butler has lower body injuries, that's not something that can be reversed quickly, so now you're talking about okay, is he ready to return on Sunday for the Celtics ? So yes, he feels. He feels like the Heat's season ends tonight. It's like that simply because not only are you going to face a Celtics team, but you're going to face a Celtics team and it looks like your star is not going to be good to go and and It's a brutal, brutal feeling, so Miami He will have to mentally overcome a lot of things because I think they are going to kick themselves with all the opportunities they had to close this. um you know where they were in the third quarter with the possibility of maybe putting this aside with some of the late execution and uh this hurts this one definitely hurts it felt because it felt very similar to Miami in many years.
In a game like that on the road, you intimidate the team and take them out of the game and Miami doesn't let that slip away normally, but this year it's been a different energy, it's been a man. There's been a different, disappointing energy in the way he's gotten things to the finish line and obviously, look, you're Eric spola and you have this game plan, you don't think Nick Batum is going to turn back the clock, you know? 2015 and start doing what he did today and I think if you asked Derk spoler like, hey, I go into a game and yeah, my stars didn't score, but you had Tyrese Maxi six-for-16 and jool embiid 6-17 and you We're going to go down with Nick Batum and he's going to have six 3-pointers, which, you know, Far and Away was, you know, the best on his team, really the only guy on his team that could shoot today.
You're going to be like, "Okay, I guess we're going to have to find a way, we're going to have to live with it and find a way to win that game and you have to tell them, you know, the viewers say, hey you come into this game you're going to hold them to 105 points can you find a way to win that game if I told Eric Scher before I think he'd be incredibly excited about the Heats opportunity but you know a Jimmy Limping Butler, a Tyler hero who took too long to find his uh his shot um you know, a Bio Bam who never really had an offensive rhythm at all and never had any kind of run in this game um yeah, they're getting kicking for this one I think I'm proud of myself for not drinking the bottle right after this game, but to be fair, I thought the only hope I gave myself that they were going to win this game was that it was at halftime. a giant mug of cath Pell CU I'm like, oh, this is going to be one of those nights where I'm not going to be able to sleep.
I feel a little good and now I won't be able to sleep, but I'll just be thinking. about Nick Batum and Sixers fans cheering for the free chicken man and Jimmy Butler, of course, on his leg, his health, and his future painful man.
