Luna Lovegood Is A Maledictus | Harry Potter Theory

Hi brother Ben, oh my god the final trailer for fantastic beasts the crimes of Grindelwald just came out and I'm losing my mind it's so amazing there are so many questions running through my mind right now but the main takeaway I think is we're all we've got right now and what shook us all to the core is that the trailer confirmed that Claudia Kim's character is none other than a guinea pig, she called him oh my god, we call him that. I can't express how good she feels and yet, as always, there are even more questions.

I just flew in to JK Rowling this morning, who we had to stay in the same room for this weekend. I breathed her air and it was glorious, it was one of the coolest experiences ever, literally. she came in people were crying openly with happiness it felt like being born again like there was life before JK and now there is life after JK and now I'm zero again I'll be 1 year old next September everyone invited me to my birthday party but everyone Anyway, she's been answering questions all morning on Twitter and one thing in particular really made my head spin and I think we may have identified a second maledictis in the world of Harry Potter, none other than Luna Lovegood, guys, in case that they missed it over the weekend.

Now it's important to note that this is different from an Animagus and Animagus is something you choose to become and have the ability to change back at will. a maledictis is a blood curse, which means that eventually you are going to change into some animal and not be able to return and as I learned today also on Twitter from JK Rowling, it does not always result in a snake like it does with Nagini, it can be any animal, It just depends on the curse placed on it. which brings me to JK Rowling's tweet in question that sent me down this rabbit hole, she says that maledictis carries a blood curse from birth that is passed from mother to daughter, mother to daughter, well, two main takeaways from That first is that I guess it's possible then that the Nagini we just saw revealed in the trailer isn't actually Voldemort's Nagini, but perhaps his mother, which I can see as Claudia Kim's character, who you could be with. a little more empathetic to give her and your credit some love. story that is so tragic because you know that her daughter becomes the terrible Nagini that we know personally in the Harry Potter books.

I still think she will be the Nagini in Fantastic Beasts, but wait and see, but another conclusion was her suggesting that there is possibly another maledictis in the world of Harry Potter that we haven't identified yet and when I started thinking about it, the list of candidates was very, very short because there just aren't many main female characters that could potentially apply to me. I mean we know that Molly Weasley is Anna Maledictis, so Ginny is out and Hermione is muggleborn, so she is Alden, which pretty much leaves Luna, but it turns out that Luna is the perfect candidate to be a Maledictis without know because, on the one hand, we know very little about his mother. that her name was Pandora and that she died while experimenting with a spell in front of Luna, so Luna can see thestrals, which somehow helps cover up Luna's true nature if she is a maledictis, because it means that Pandora didn't live as long as she did. enough to become the animal she was cursed with, in fact it could even be that the spell that ended up killing her and that she was experimenting with could have been in an effort to cure her and Luna of exactly this which means that it is possible that the Luna herself may not even realize what she is, but even if she doesn't, I have an idea what animal she might turn into.

I think Luna is cursed to turn into a wolf and let me be clear. does not mean werewolf, in fact JK Rowling herself tweeted this morning about the difference between werewolf and maledictis when asked to distinguish between the two, she specifically says they are different conditions, but that doesn't mean she can't be cursed to become a normal wolf. and let me also be clear, this doesn't mean Luna is evil, being a maledictis in and of itself doesn't make you evil, it just makes you cursed, the fact that Nagini continues to serve Baltimore to be like the most evil snake ever existed in the world.

It's a completely different story, but let's get into it, why do we think it's a wolf or that Luna could just be a maledictis? and the answer is names, let's start with her mother Pandora, which is a pretty clear reference to Pandora's Box, which when opened released all the evil in the world, although I think her mother could interpret it in this situation as if she released this curse on his daughter and then there is her father Xenophilius, which is derived from the word Xena file, which describes a person who is attracted to that which is strange or alien.

I must tell you if your wife was going to turn into a wolf at some point that could be considered strange, there is nothing wrong with that scene, if you assume you are pretty good, except you, no one. She gave herself to Harry and went crazy, that was bad enough, but they kidnapped her daughter. Don't know. Then there's Luna. Luna, you probably already know what Luna means, which I know we said before. She's not a werewolf, but I don't think so. We can deny the connection between the moon and wolves in general or in Harry Potter, even if it is not specific to werewolves, plus we know that years after the book series ends, Luna will have twin sons, Lorcan and Lysander, now Individually, these are not that incriminating.

In fact, they mean Little Fierce and Liberator respectively, which means that yes, they're probably little heroes in the making, but if you take their names and combine them, you can take lies from a Lysander and canning of history and you're left with lichen. and guess what a lichen is, lichen is derived from the word lycanthropy, which means someone who suffers from lycanthropy, the professed ability or power of a human being to transform into a wolf. That doesn't exactly sound like the description of someone that a maledictis whose curse would end in a wolf and that's not even the end of it to top it off is her eventual husband rolf Scamander rolf alone is already just one letter away from being a wolf anyway, but also means wolf of renown like wolves in addition, he is a conman and, like his grandfather Newt Scamander, he is also an Imagi serologist.

Could there be a better person to marry a maledictis? It's just another incredible connection between the past world of fantastic beasts and the current world of Harry Potter and it's possible that Rolfe will be the one who can eventually identify and help Luna, possibly even cure her of this with the help of her grandfather, who we know which won't have Nagini in the trailer, so in the end we have a family of four Rolfe Luna Lorcan and Lysander, whose names have to do with wolves and Luna's dead mother, who died mysteriously doing a spell we know nothing about and whose name means releasing evil.

I mean, I don't know, it's already done, I'm just looking. the facts and if you're still feeling skeptical at home, remember we've done it right once before, so you know, I mean whatever, but the bad, more protection for you and everyone else.
