The style of this one will take a little patience but in the end the results are worth it now before you start make sure to subscribe for more videos like this. Now that that's been said, let's get started right. For this you will need leggings. I bought them at my local Home Depot. They come in a pack of 12 and for this project you will need 16 packs and they cost less than $2. You'll also need wood glue and You'll need something to hold them on or if you don't have clamps that's totally fine, you can use rubber bands but you'll need a lot of them.

You will also need a

mirror

. I bought this one from Dollar Tree, okay? You're going to open your first package of shims, take out three and glue them together like this when you apply the wood glue, make sure you spread it out because the more surface area the wood touches each other. stick the strongest grip you'll ever have, oh, and the latin engineer totally helped me with this project and then you're going to want to put them together like this, now the shape you're going to want to make is what you see. On your right first you are going to hold those three together as he is showing you right here.

He's pretty picky about the wood project around the house, so he told me he'd demonstrate this now if any of your wedges are bent in the center. You may want to add an extra clamp in the center or again, if you don't have one, you can use elastic bands. Now you are going to take the next four wedges from your package and you are going to apply wood glue in the same way and you are going to put them together as you see here, you just created one of the sides, this will go on one of the sides of the three that you have drying now and as you can see it's using rubber bands to hold them together while they dry so it's totally possible that it can be done with rubber bands, then you'll take the next four wedges and do the same with the other side of the form so now you should have two. sides and a center, you should have used three for the center and four for each of the sides using eleven of the twelve wedges in the package, but be sure to save those 12 wedges because you will need them, so after they have dried and For We usually let them dry overnight.
You're going to put the three pieces back together. More wood glue. Make sure to pin them down and then let them dry. You will do this sixteen times. Okay, so a year later. I'm just kidding now that you've done it. Once ready, you will begin assembling the Sunburst. Remember that the twelfth wedge in the package, this is where it will come in handy. You will need a wedge between each of the shapes because each shape is exactly the same shape. it means that when you put them together the two pieces in the end will be the same length, that extra wedge will add a different height between the two and I chose to make it longer again, make sure you use a lot of wood glue and spread it evenly because now you are building the structure and the more glue you have, the better it will stay together.
Also, while you are putting together the Sunburst, make sure you have something heavy at the end to hold it in place while you keep adding them on the other side and then you will continue with this until you reach the other end, you will alternate in the shape with a single Shem, the shape of a single Shem and so on. Well, once you get to the other side, you'll want to clean up any excess glue and also make small changes to make sure it's the perfect shape. The perfect thing about glue is that it has a little bit of flexibility before it.
It dries and once you have the shape you want, you will spray a center with more wood glue. I mean, you want to soak that thing, don't stop, this is the area where you're going to place the mirror and I just took. I took the mirror out of the frame from Dollar Tree and they placed it right in the center on all that glue. You will let this dry overnight as well. Okay, next morning you'll turn it over and I'm sorry. the only footage I have of that, but you're going to do the exact same thing by soaking it with more wood glue on the other side and you're going to take that little sponge and you're really going to get it into all those folds again.
The more wood glue you use in all those little cracks, the better the structure will hold. I let it dry overnight and as you can see here, it's a solid piece. I thought the mirror was missing a little something so I grabbed an 8 inch embroidery hoop and decided to use it for the mirror frame I needed in the embroidery hoop to make it look a little more worn in like the shims, like this which I added a little bit of stripping wash and also used some old folk art wax which I really love and I was able to make it match a little bit better with these

sunburst

s.
I then used some e6000 to apply the embroidery hoop to the mirror and as you can see it is perfect. Fittingly, I removed any e6000 with a Q-tip that might have been stored under the embroidery hoop and placed a heavy book on top to hold it together and again let it dry overnight. The final piece was installing the hardware and my husband decided. The best thing for this was one of those cable hanging kits, so he screwed them on each end and added the cable between them, making sure everything was taut and didn't come undone and of course being the gentleman that he is. . he posted it to me and here is a finished product.
I'm very proud to have been able to finish it. It was a lot of work and waiting, but it was worth the effort. I decided to leave the mirror like this and without painting or anything like that. I liked the rustic touch, I like the color of the wood, but of course if you want to add color, change it up, make it a nice gold glaze or something, you can definitely do it right, so let's see how I did the closer look. A rustic

sunburst

mirror I found was overstocked and cost $282, so each of these impacts cost $96 each.
I used 16 of those. I also needed the mirror and the embroidery hoop, so my total came to $35 because I had everything else on hand guys, I hope you enjoyed this video and this Menos look. I now have my own rustic sunburst mirror for my room. Be sure to hit the like button if you enjoyed it and don't forget to check it out. Out Lindsey, so look for the Less video too.
