KUIU vs Mystery Ranch Backpacks | ADVISOR INSIGHTS with Isaiah Joner

May 10, 2020
all i'm saying here about the hunting fool this is another video on the

advisor

s ideas on gear and today i have the

backpacks

that i have been using last year in previous years so start with the kuyou bag here this is the ultra 5000 on the icon pro frame the icon probe shoulder straps are a little beefier which I like but the altra bags are very light which I really like so I've been using these bags since the beginning of kuyou, have made many improvements over the years. This bag is basically a, you know, a load from the top to the side.

The reason I like the key bag so much is that with all the new bags there are quick disconnect clips on everything so I can basically use a 7000 or 5500 bag. to camp if I'm going on a multi-day trip with a 3000 bag in it with all my mic gear for the day, basically what I do when I get to camp quickly: I just unzip the big bag and put the small one in in about three minutes and you can completely set it up again and that's the main thing What I love about Kikuyu bags is that they are very versatile, you can use any bag with them, they are all interchangeable so there are many options once you use them. heavier loads with this, the backpack is very durable.

I've packed over a hundred pounds of this stuff, no problem, just a little inconvenient. I would say that I personally like to keep a maximum load of between 60 and 70 pounds on this thing where it still feels very comfortable to pack, but overall, again, the best feature of the kuyou's great design is the interchangeable bag, so which is like an all-in-one system for a pretty affordable price. I also have the Miss Ranch Metcalf backpack here. I used this pretty much all last year. now and then between that and the kuyou bag there are a lot of fancy features in this one it's pretty much just a backpack really durable backpack handles heavy loads very well I like it better than the Kuya when it comes to having a lot of weight on it The backrest is very comfortable, The top lid opens quite easily and you can literally pull it in if you don't want a bulky bag, it compacts quite easily so the other feature I like about the Mr.

Ranch bags are quite wide and short, so when you have a big load there isn't that high rock rocky move that you get such a good feature on the mr.

ranch

bags very comfortable heavy loads durable very durable bag and you don't rock back and forth and this is a good mid season bag where you know you don't need a really big backpack but you do need a little more room. a 25 3000 bag on those later season hunts when you have bulkier items, so that's my thing, you know, it takes you back to those later seasons where I can throw a lot of stuff in there and access the loading rack, but that It's the only complaint I have.

Getting to the loading shell can be a little difficult, but this year Inch has made some major improvements and I have the first 80 here. I looked at this at the show and noticed that they improved a lot of features that I really liked, so I bought one last week, put about 20 miles on it over the weekend and really liked it, so again the covers are very easy to remove. It has this great horseshoe zipper so you can access directly inside, unlike the Met cap which just has a zipper, this one literally opens completely and has really good organization pockets, so it's a big upgrade in addition to reaching to the only shelf now instead of having to slide the backpack, you literally just unzip it back here and it unfolds and You're here, again, big improvements at Misty Ranch this year.
I'm very excited to run this, look at how it's been overall so again these are the packs I use or will use a lot of great features any of them make a good pack so if you have any follow up questions or comments please leave a comment, send me an email and I'll be happy to help you prepare for your next trick.
