KAYAK RIVER Fishing During Awful Texas DROUGHT! -- (4 Day Adventure!)

Mar 20, 2024
under the bald cypresses. Listen. the

river

flows next to us where we just caught those fish and the game plan for tomorrow's session. I'm excited. I think we definitely have to make up some ground for what we lost today. Typically, eight and nine miles is what we want to float. today we only floated like five if that and uh also I thought we were going downstream when we were looking for a drop o'clock but we were actually going upstream so we just added to this trip the plan is not a plan that's what we're going to do here , but anyway I'll show you how we camped on the

river

, this is a nice little place not too rocky going to set up a base camp and hunker down for the night and rest up for tomorrow's

fishing

mission this is my first meal of the entire day I have been awake since 3 a.m. m. these things are sweet, they're so easy, I'm not affiliated with them at all, but they're great.

I don't know if they are good for you. They can be because all you need to do is add water to the container and the little bag they give you reacts in some way. I don't know about water, it can be any water, you can literally pee in this thing, not this thing but the other packet and it heats it up for you, you don't need a flame or anything, but anyway, tonight's menu here in Guadalupe we are eating meat and lentil soup with a little barbecue sauce, it's like the best I've ever put in my mouth oh, that's not the place where you want to camp the sun has set it's getting dark we're getting tired We're loading up the camera gear and as we're loading up the camera gear and relaxing, I realized that we set up base camp right on top of a burning Nest Mound, which is pretty cool, it's nice.

Fire ants, fireflies, fire ants, fire. I prefer fireflies. Fire ants. a little bad anyway uh we have everything set up, a big battery connected to the camera batteries we are charging, we have mosquito repellent, we are going to make some coffee in the morning, so we set everything up, then we take the laptop that's downloading the images and then we have a mound of fire ants as we settle in for the night in the Texas Hill Country we hear the Guadalupe River go by we're just hanging out watching the fireflies flashing behind us it's just natural beauty and it's what I think I needed, I think we both needed this: spending a lot of time on a boat doing a lot of things in the city, just boring, rudimentary day-to-day nonsense and this is where I really feel like I thrive and this is the kind of stuff that makes me love to film more peace now so I don't know we'll catch them in the morning hopefully tomorrow we're definitely going to spin it oh my gosh was it a bat on my back?

I felt big, I felt like a moth, um, but yeah. I'm going to get some stuff ready, tomorrow morning we'll get it back later, so I'm not sure if we'll do this two-part series, a three-part series, a four-part series or we could just do it. It's a very long movie, so I'm not going to say that we'll see it tomorrow. I could just say we'll see you here in a few moments, but don't log off and good night.
