Joe Rogan Experience #1353 - Rob Zombie

May 05, 2020
He was a singer in a punk rock band from Reagan's youth and I saw this cop jump on him and start hitting him so hard that he had very long dreadlocks. The next time I saw him, he had his head shaved and stitched because he had a lot of damage. in his head he had been like in a coma or something and then it was a big scandal, you could probably find us wearing it because all the cops put black tape on their badge numbers so no one could tell who was who while they were doing everything. this and it was on the front page of the New York Post an image of I think the publication, the badge with the black ribbon that was a wild cover back then, see if we can find right the Chicago elections and the riots during the 1960s Yeah, it was like a turning point in Hunter s Thompson's life because he was there and he saw these cops just beat people up and he said he saw way worse beatings from Chicago than he ever saw for the Hells Angels because.

You know his first one. book, yeah, the Hells Angels look, so he was around those guys for a year watching them get into biker fights and he pales, pales, I mean, it's yeah, why, but it's also crazy, but a Sometimes being a police officer must be a crazy, horrible job. because I can't imagine, I mean, he doesn't justify the things we're talking about, but I can't imagine how you can't go crazy in that job, you see it every day and what you think most of them, I think. of PTSD and you know they don't it's not addressed most people look down on them almost everyone knows a liar yeah you mean a guy oh I didn't know how fast he was going oh this is my house I just can't find my keys like If everyone was lying to you and you were the enemy you were a professional enemy and you were an enemy team yes, for all these enemy criminals, it's a terrible way to live, yes I need them badly, right, it's on their I don't know, I can't win In that job, I don't think that no, no, you can't, and it's and people don't, they don't pay you enough, people don't respect you.

More Interesting Facts About,

joe rogan experience 1353 rob zombie...

You, they don't appreciate you, you know, I want you around, no, they want you around, yeah, and then you're not there fast enough exactly, yeah, yeah, it's uh, I mean, and cop movies, that's it. Which is crazy, it's like cop movies, people love people, love cops. The movies and the cops are the good guys, yes it's very strange, but I like their interactions with humans in real life. If people treated them like they think they do in the movies, it would be a wonderful time to be a cop, although it's weird because I remember that time here in New York as being so strict like I have a different relationship now when I see cops, but like as a kid homeless at 19, I remember walking down the street and a cop would drive by me, roll down the window and they would start making fun of me saying like you know cannolis and they were waiting for you to say something in response and it was weird, you know, I was walking On the street, he wasn't there, not even J walking.

On the street now any cop comes up to me like oh no, what's going on, dude, I saw you in Slayer, it was amazing. Me so weird, yeah, it has to be super weird, yeah, I mean, they're more responsible now than ever, I think that's one. One of the best things about police body cameras and cell phones is that you couldn't do it that way before, but I don't think they get enough advice and I don't think they get enough money and I don't think That's right, I don't think they be a sufficiently strict selection process.

I think there's a lot of people who are out there, you know they're powerless when they're young and they want everyone to just wish everyone would do it if I could be a cop and they could become a cop. police for all the wrong reasons and then there are those that give good cops a bad name and if you think about the number of interactions that people have with the police and this is the perspective that is so important, there are 320 million people in this country. and police officers have millions and millions and millions and millions and millions and millions and millions of interactions with people, yes, all the time, but how many of those interactions are positive, the vast majority of them are not police brutality, the vast majority of the men are not shooting someone. implant a gun in them or plant drugs on them, of course the vast majority of them are police officers who do a very hard job and do the best they can, but no one cares about that, you only care when police officers behave badly, you know, yeah , you know, it's just perspective, which you know, no one has that, that's too nuanced to have a conversation with the world, no, no, it's a perspective on anything, well, this is a man.
