Jun 01, 2021
my. Well, I mean, but this question is for charity, how is your sister? So I think I know the answer because you alluded to that and you left it to someone else that you spent about three and a half hours with the guests and then it ends up being 20 minutes, but that's the reason why Regis hasn't been on your show yet, so you let yourself go a little bit in your hell, all the serious panties would be.amazing I think okay, let's make it happen it's a good question, not strictly speaking a comedian, but would it be considered um?

I don't think so, no, no, of course, I love Regis. I could choose anyone at any time, it's if I don't put in I thought a lot about it. I love Regis. I loved being on his show. He's a really funny guy, but I'm still in the world of pure comedy. You know, there are a lot of people I still want to reach. you know, like you know in John Stewart and Bill Burr and Jimmy Fallon and people like that, you know what? Tell me a little bit about your time with Don Rickles because I look at Don Rickles and I don't.

More Interesting Facts About,

jerry seinfeld and david letterman full program...

I want to say something here that's inappropriate, but when Don passes away, forgive me for invoking that, but chances are that for me that's the end, that's the end of something special, something that when I was a kid you could watch every night on The Tonight . Show, you can see some version of that, you can see Don Rickles, you can see Dean Martin, you can see all these guys that represented a form of show business or a style of show business that I think doesn't exist anymore, yeah , so I was really very excited to have him on the show because he's one of those guys from that era that we see that got us interested in the whole profession, so it's pretty surprising, there aren't many guys at that time that still have the juice he has. it's so much fun to have you on the show yes ok it's someone else yes ma'am I have two questions for you the first is is it ok to take a photo with you later ok?
jerry seinfeld and david letterman full program
I'm going to answer the second one, the first one, go ahead, instead of seven politicians, do that, I don't know, thank you, you like cars, so if you think about the characters on Seinfeld, which car do you think each of them likes? those you know would be closer to them or represent them well? Kramer had a car on the show, we had an old Chevy Impala. I think that was counterproductive and played a role in one of the

program

s. I don't think George ever owned a car. Oh Jon Jon Voight LeBaron, that's right, thanks Bill, yeah.
jerry seinfeld and david letterman full program
Yeah that solves that he had a Saab that just leaves Elaine so three out of four didn't have cars so that question is answered and the other one is No oh sure until you can hurt the man in all three quarters of the way back. with the plaid shirt, so I live in a story, we live in a story right next to where you and Howard went, yeah, to dinner and I'm curious, you know? Do you guys walk around and look at that supermarket and say let's get in there or are you okay, I delayed the land before, how does that happen?
Because it was cool because I really think it started with Dave that I realized that a second place took these people to another place besides the restaurant in the car Dave I asked him to go to a hardware store that we were in briefly, but that I really like it, yeah, because it was fun, so I started looking for places in the area. Now you had no idea beforehand. Know? Because well, I think we had talked about hardware stores or something and then there was one, yeah, that's where it started, so we just find a restaurant that we like for whatever reason and then I ask what else is out there that maybe I can take them to Howard Stern supermarket, that sounded good, thank you, yes ma'am, hello, hello, Sarah.
I thought the Acura product breakdown was very well done, oh thank you and didn't compromise the show in any way. I just enjoy how the process is with the advertiser, um, and how you decide what the integration is going to be. When we made the deal with a cure, which is what the

program

allowed, after I did all ten, it was over, I wasn't going to do it. more because I trust that I couldn't get a company to step up and do well, we will pay the amount of money it takes to do this and with a small profit to make it worth it all the time and except that it is accurate.
The guy there, Mike, a cavity that believed in me and believed in the program, took that risk with us and one of the points of the deal is that we have to include our products in it and I said do you mind if I make it fun ? as part of the show and he said no, so those are product placements that are now in movies and TV shows, but you're not supposed to notice them, so we thought well, why don't we make a fuss? make it really boring and you know this is part of it. I really admired when you say where our product placement car is and yeah, cool, you're supposed to be so small.
I thought it was lovely, oh thank you, so just Think about an episode with Jon Stewart, the car tries to run us over the product place, so I like that, I like it because this is something that's part of television now and from the movies to a certain extent, so we thought, well, doing something with that instead of just making something feel worse, it's a simple little idea, but I think it's tremendous. I think it's a great idea and if you don't mind, let me ask you another question. Will you get initial viewers when the thing is first? downloaded and then what is your recidivism if that's the right word you're a prisoner but not the fact it's because of what you know because the meetings about the analysis of the show are incredibly fascinating if you like statistics and viewing habits and how the public it's changing what it does yes what I said about people watching a play is true that's what they do with this show we have seasons and I was saying this to Tom Kennedy today at the meeting.
I said, do you think the audience has any idea that we have seasons and that the show comes and then goes. He said no they have no idea they just heard about it it's on the internet and they see it every time they type like it does and maybe you don't have this information maybe you don't care about this information does it seem to be determined by the name or is it just Jerry Seinfeld with the cars and the comedians in the car? There are some names that shock you a little. A little bit, as you know, on your show, most of them are watching the show.
Yes, that's another very encouraging thing. A lot of people, you know, don't know that they watch the show and that made me think that they liked the show. to find this show like for me I'm 67 years old if I wanted to find this show can you spell comedians? If you can spell it and write it, it appears, it appears right, I did it. I watched a lot of episodes on my own on you know, on my own, no one helps you, no one helps you, but I'm just saying in the vast universe you asked the galaxies, yeah, it's pretty easy to find a website address mm-hmm .
Thanks grandpa, okay, yes, until the end. in the back, well, don't get up, I was just using, uh, for you guys, what was your first car or not? The truck, the first car you really loved, those are the two big questions I'd like to know the answers to about your first car and the first car you really loved. My first car was a greaser. Go first. Mine was a '73 Fiat 128 and I was madly in love with it because no one on Long Island had European cars and I had, you know, front-wheel drive and rack-and-pinion steering.
I thought it was the best, it wasn't fast, but I thought That was how old you were. I was 20, it's a very good choice for a kid, well, I was reading the magazines, yeah, you know, yeah, I wanted my The first car was just a rusty Volkswagen Beetle and it had a crank and the thing with the roof came off and it finally died out and the first car I really loved was a BMW 320i and with that one the black one, yeah and it drove like a car is supposed to, it was pretty much neutral, a little underpowered and it went, what's up from you, what was your first car BMW 2002 right in 74, yeah, that's my favorite, the ones that Jerry bought a car for? can i do it yes sir hi i'm joe up to that exact point you could buy the car so could you afford it?
If he didn't love doing this so much, would the show be able to pay his salary or that of his guests? they go late into the night for a promotion and stuff, the guests go on for a promotion like Sarah Jessica Parker and the guests you get do it as a favor, yeah, best you know they see I'm going to take the good. Taking care of them in terms of I'm going to make them look good, you know, nobody's anything weird. Not me, I would never run, so I want some people to feel free, but could they afford me that luxury?
Could anyone pay well? guest payment there is guest payment yes, they have rejected it, but it is not a large amount of money, but I felt that I wanted it to work as a business because for me that was in this medium creating a program that did not generate money. It's really been done, you know, in some way, you know, significantly, I mean, you can get important people and yeah, that was part of the puzzle that I enjoyed trying to solve. Could you tell us what a show production budget is? it's in the neighborhood of a hundred thousand per episode, so to do a mm-hmm compared to a Seinfeld episode, what would have been a million, a million, a million for a Seinfeld episode, half a million at what point in time? what a moment of running at the beginning I don't do it at the beginning maybe yes, in the end you couldn't get Jerry Stiller for a million in the end it was a very popular show well, I'm, yes, ma'am, there, supporting you on your own.
Hi my question was just about how do you decide who to interact with outside of the comedian because in that Bob Allen song yeah I couldn't stop looking at that woman with the white hair yeah in some episodes you have the comedian like Sarah got engaged with someone off the street, do you encourage that or do you just order organically? Yeah, I try and try and I don't use it like when Dave and I went to the coffee shop and what the fuck and whatever, a lot. Obviously a lot of people were excited and everyone came out and we met a lot of people afterwards and we signed and took pictures and all that, but I want the show, I want you to feel like you're hanging out with us, so I get the celebrity reaction out of them to that has this kind of small, approachable vibe of yeah, I'd like to hang out with those two guys for 20 minutes and and and but I don't want showbiz stuff, so no, I'll usually delete it, right?
There sir, when he said that he met with all these digital gurus and they told him that five minutes was the maximum, don't go beyond five minutes, hmm, did you think they were wrong or do you know they screwed it up? I don't care, okay? I don't care, I do a lot of things like that, okay and then yeah sir, we just overlooked it, thank you and I'll leave it at that in terms of monetizing your content, is it licensing or structures so that it can be distributed internationally or is it international. We were in Puerto Rico on vacation and the guy who comes to the beach and asks you for a drink starts talking to me and loves to call Ryan when Mel Brooks. and he loves the show and I thought how cool is this.
I got into the pocket of heaven. I mean, he's got my show in his pocket, so yeah, I mean, he's all over the world. That's the nature of the Internet. Don't you forget? In some cases I mean he's not in France I mean they say he doesn't go everywhere but he goes he goes quite a bit of wine why wouldn't those people infringe it? We have a problem. I don't even know if he could go. with a friend in some places it's not going well, so we're about to break up. I think we could all go on all night, but thank you very much for a very, very special program.
