Jacob's Ladder Crochet Stitch - Geometric Crochet - Colorwork Crochet

May 29, 2021
So today we're going to do Jacob's Ladder and I'm using the hook that the yarn comes for, so I'm using AG, but some people use an h19 for a yarn number, so I'm doing my Slipknot and I'm going to let's make it a multiple of six, but some people can make it a multiple of five, a multiple of four, whatever they want, but I'm going to make it a multiple of oh, six plus two, so that's one, two, three, okay, twenty-four plus two. so now I'm going to yarn over and double

crochet

the fourth loop of my hope, so it's going to be one, two, three in the fourth and I'm going to double

crochet

each of the loops all the way to the end and I'll have my 24, which is a multiple of six and see you when I finish this room okay, so I have my 24 double crochets.

I'm going to chain 1 round and make a single crochet in each of the chain spaces, so single crochet in each one. one and these two rows will be my base rows and once I have my twenty-four single crochets I'll come back and show you what to do next, so those two are my base rows and now I want to change colors. to use the darker blue and I have my chain there, I'm just going to go over that time a little bit and I'm going to do 3 chains up, one, two, three loops and I'm going to make that count as number one, you know, do two, three.

More Interesting Facts About,

Oh five six so once I have my six I want to make ten chains one two three six seven eight nine ten and then slip a

stitch

at the base of that chain right there okay now I'm going to make six more double crochets to be one Oh five mmm six and I did my tank chains again one two three four five six seven eight nine ten and again slip a

stitch

on the base to that chain right there, yeah, there we go and now six double crochets plus one two five and six and then I'll do my 10 chains again one two three four five six seven eight nine ten and then I'll slip the stitch into that base of the chain and I do six more double crochets, that's one two for five and six, so in the way back what you want to do is a chain loop and then a single crochet until you get to the loop, so it's one, two, three, four, five and six, and then push that loop back and find that point I go down to the side so that the chain is there and one. two three four five six push that back and single crochet the next two three five six push the loop back and find the next one two Oh five and whoa, the last one there and it's six and now Let's go to change color, so now I'm going to change color and go to the lighter blue.

Look, let's pull that one and then I'll make my three chains up and I'll turn them so one counts as one and I have that's two three four five and six and now I make my 10 chains up 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and then I go back to the base and do a slip stitch on that oh there we go and now six more double crochets that's 1 2 yo Oh five six and then ten chains one two three four five six seven eight nine ten and slip stitch on the base of that, right there and then six more double crochets and do that to the end of the rope then six and then the ten chains and six double crochets and 10 chains and so on and then of course on the way back, you make 1 chain and single crochet in each, so if it's one, two, three, four, five and six, push the loop back. and find that first chain which is one two three four five six years that chains back and find the first one and do that to the end of the row and I'm going to do a few more rows so you can see what it looks like and I'll show you how. pick up the loops to make the

ladder

so once I have the lengths I want because I just want to make a washcloth I'm going to make another row of double crochets without making the chains. like a regular double crochet row and once you make this rope, I'll come back to show you what to do on the next one.

At this stage, you want to have all the loops like this and to be able to do that you go to pick up the first loop, go under the second one and pass it, so again you take this one, the next one from the bottom and pass it and again you pick it up and You pass, you pick it up, you pass it, let's do it again, let's pick it up. pull it through the pick up pull it through the pick up and pull it through and leave the last one hanging there because we're going to go and secure the next row okay now in this row we're going to catch all of these loops and I need to make my row of single crochet one round and then we enter the first one to make it one two three four five and then in the sixth one you go in there and pick up the loop that you have down there, be careful. make it nice and straight, okay, let's take the loop and make a single crochet now in the first stitch of the next set of six, go into that chain, take the loop again and make a single crochet and that would be number one, two three four five. on the sixth one, go in there and pick up that loop, there we go and single crochet it and then on the first of the next set of six which would be number one, we pick that loop again and single crochet it, so it would be one. two three four five in the sixth, go there and pick up the loop with single crochet in the next one, go there, pick it up again and do a single crochet and then in the row and then of course I want to do another row of double crochet , so it looks the same as it did at the beginning and it has a nice finish, so when I do it I'll come back and take some photos so you can see what it looks like and this is very interesting, it's very nice, so thank you very much.
