Israel, Hamas, and End Times | Ezekiel 38 | Gary Hamrick

For today I am going to bring a message with a biblical perspective related to the current events unfolding in Israel. Why is it important for us to keep our eyes on Israel? First, because the Bible is a book about Israel, the Bible historically records things about Israel and the Bible prophetically records things that are yet to happen in Israel. Plus, of course, God gave the world a savior, his name is Jesus, who was born in Israel and died in Israel. Israel was resurrected in Israel and by the way it is coming again to Israel and that is why we need to keep our eyes on Jesus and that is why I am delving into this to bring a biblical perspective to what we see happening in the Middle East today was actually supposed to must have been transmitting from Israel. here to church a video for this morning's teaching uh leading a group of a couple hundred from our church and luckily you know we weren't there when the war broke out so we thank the Lord for that one day before Terry and I was supposed to board a plane to fly to Israel on Saturday of last week, Saturday, October 7, 2023. 1,500 Hamas terrorists penetrated the security fence around Gaza, arrived in Israel on motorcycles, jeeps and paragliders from the air and they brutally and savagely murdered Israelis at this rim music festival and then attacked several kbim along the border there with the murder in Gaza.

I don't need to go over the details, but it was brutal and there is nothing to describe it other than using words. pure evil this is a picture of the face of this war this is a young couple his name is Hadar his name is atai BFI and his twin babies lived in a kabut called kafar aah near the border with Gaza his kabo was raided by Hamas terrorists along with other kabut, when they heard the Hamas gunmen approaching their house, they quickly took their twin babies and hid them in a safe room in their house and then they confronted these Hamas terrorists again and this young couple was brutally murdered For 14 hours later when the Israel Defense Forces recaptured Kafara, they found those twin babies alive, unharmed, and they rescued those little babies who are now orphaned because the terrorists killed their mother and father.

Those parents gave their lives in defense of their children. this is the face of that war for the first time in 50 years since 1973 in the Yam Kapur War for the first time in 50 years Israel has officially declared war in response to Hamas terrorism it is as people say 9/11 Israel, but this is what they don't always say is that when you look proportionally at the population of Israel, which is about 7.1 million Jews, compared to the population of the United States, which is about 330 million of Americans, your 911 Israelis, 911 proportionally, the number of deaths compared to our number of deaths in 911 is 30.

I want to say from the beginning that our church is unequivocally on the side of Israel and the Jewish people and I also want to say that just as it was in the 1930s and 1940s, some sensible Germans who opposed Hitler and Nazism, Today there are also some sensible Palestinians who oppose Hamas and Islamic terrorism and who also believe in Israel's right to exist, and to those Palestinians we also say that we are also with you, so I am dedicating all of today's teaching to dealing to answer these five questions number one who or what is Hamas number two why Hamas is so intent on destroying Israel and the Jewish people number three what is the history of the Palestinians and their land of Israel number four why are there so many young and American young adults supporting the Palestinian cause today number five how could all this fit into Bible prophecy about the end times so let's begin with the word of prayer, Heavenly Father, our hearts are heavy today, how we really are so far from what that is happening in Israel, but at the same time because we love you and we love our Bibles, we also love the Jewish people and we thank you for the redemptive plan for the universe that came through the Jews. people through a Jewish Messiah whose name is Jesus Yeshua and Lord while our hearts are heavy at the same time our hope is in you and we thank you Psalm 121 that you who care for Israel neither doze nor sleep so we pray for his peace we pray for his protection we pray for a quick end to this war we know Lord that ultimately peace will only come when you, the Prince of Peace, return but Lord until then we ask that you be merciful and intervene and Lord as you word tells us in Psalm 122 to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, so Lord, we do it and we ask you Lord, please help, please intervene, show yourself strong on behalf of the nation of Israel and we ask these things in the name of Jesus and everyone said.

Amen, here is the first question, who or what is Hamas? Hamas is a terrorist organization made up of Sunni Muslims. Hamas, the name of the organization is actually an acronym that translates the Islamic resistance movement from Arabic, so it is an acronym that the group has. However, the word Hamas itself is used is a kind of dual play on words because Hamas in Arabic means zeal or force L is interesting in Hebrew the word Hamas is also a Hebrew word that is spelled c h m a and Hamas in Hebrew means violence violence a More appropriate definition of what Kamas has to do with Hamas, it doesn't care about anything or anyone who gets in the way of its only mission, which is to kill Jews and wipe Israel off the map.

I'm not saying this, this is what his own Charter, the Hamas Pact, says. The Hamas Charter, which was adopted in 1988, says in part that this is the opening paragraph. Quote: Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam wipes it out just as it wiped out others before it and also Article 7 says: The day of judgment would not come. until the Muslims fight and kill the Jews, that is why they are bold in making this statement. This is not conspiracy. This is not false information. They have the desire to kill Jews and wipe Israel off the map and establish it as an Islamic country.

State and they will kill and destroy anything and anyone who stands in the way of that mission and not just the Jews, they don't care about the Palestinians either. Hamas uses Palestinians as human shields. Hamas intentionally installs rocket launchers in schools, hospitals and civilian apartments. buildings knowing that when Israel retaliates it will be wonderful optics for Hamas when it shows innocent civilians being murdered in hospitals and schools with the appearance that Israel was targeting those things. No Israel is targeting the rocket launchers that Hamas intentionally installs there because they are using Palestinian civilians. as human shields, they have even prevented their own Palestinian people from leaving Gaza City.

There is a lot of blame placed on Israel for the fact that Israel has been supplying electricity until this war. Humanitarian aid. Food that allows the people of Gaza to come to work. The international community realized that when a terrorist organization begins to govern a territory that we cannot continue to finance, at least not at the same level and then, of course, on October 7, 2023, the Hamas terrorists penetrated the fence of security around Gaza and 1,500 terrorists entered Israel. and attack Massacre and kidnap Jews in the worst mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust, ladies and gentlemen, the Palestinian people in Gaza have no one to blame except their poor living conditions, their isolation and, for now , to the defensive war that Israel is waging. in that region Hamas is responsible for the poor conditions that Palestinians are experiencing in the Gaza territory these protesters in the United States holding signs that say Free Palestine Free Palestine should say Hamas Free Palestine Hamas is responsible for their suffering in 2006, When Hamas came to power through parliamentary parliamentary elections, instead of taking the finances they had accumulated to help build infrastructure in Gaza to help with humanitarian aid instead of building factories, they took their finances and built underground tunnels, hundreds of they. and they also accumulated ammunition to attack Israel, so they took all their resources and dedicated them to the destruction of Israel instead of helping to improve the condition of the Palestinian people that they supposedly represent number two.

It talks about a dragon, a woman and a child in Revelation 12:4 the dragon is an image of Satan the woman is an image of Israel the child she gave birth to is the supreme son of the promise who is Jesus Satan the dragon has always opposed God's redemptive plan he has done it all he can hinder and frustrate uh um totally ruin in any way I can God's redemptive plan that was revealed through a particular nation and that's how God chose to do it. Humanity in its sinful condition needed a savior to rescue us all. God in the Providence of him chose. a single individual abah Abram, who God would later change his name to Abraham AB was a Gentile, he was not a Jew, there were no Jewish people.

Abraham lived on a map of what would be Iraq today and God called this man and touched him, put him on the shoulder and called him to come to a land that God would give to him and his descendants so that through the seed of this man a race of people would be born a nation of peoples the people of Israel the Jewish people and that finally through this race of people would come a Jewish Messiah who would be a savior not only for the Jews but a savior for the entire world because both God loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son so that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. life and Satan hates God's redemptive plan and because God's redemptive plan was centered and located in Israel, which is where the Savior was born, died, resurrected, ascended and will return too, Satan is doing everything he can to call the attention of an evil world with all its hatred and hostility against this place because it represents God's Covenant Redemptive plan and Satan has been inspiring nations, people and groups of people since the beginning of time to hate the Jewish people because it represents the last.

God's redemptive plan and God says in Genesis 12:3 I will bless those who bless Israel and I will curse those who curse Israel. His eyes are set on this earth because he chose this particular place and among these particular people through which to reveal his ultimate Plan of Redemption for the good of the entire world, so if you have ever wondered why all the hatred towards the Jews, why all this fuss about a small country smaller than the state of New Jersey, that's where the anti-Semitism comes from, it's Satanism, this is We're seeing a spiritual war going on here, well, it sure is being waged physical way, but this is a spiritual war that incites all this, so that is the real answer.

They have heard them say that they are the colonialists and therefore we are just trying to get our land back, so many today believe. that this conflict is really based on Israel's illegitimate right to the land and is trying to reclaim it for its own people and for the Islamic cause, which brings us now to the third question, which is what is the history of the Palestinians and the land of Israel, so let me say this so that it is clear from the beginning of the answer to this third question.

Jews are not occupiers, if you know your history. The Jews are the indigenous people of the earth. Now we fast forward to more recent history because it goes from the Babylonians to the Greeks to the Romans, you have the Mamaluks there, you have the Ottoman Turks. Well, the Ottoman Turks were occupying this land during World War I and when Britain helped defeat the forces that were fighting in World War I, Britain defeated the Ottomans. Well, they are the indigenous people and they live on this land and, again, not just because Britain said you can have the west side of the Jordan River, but because God granted them this territory and much more in Genesis CH 15, question Number four, then why do so many American youth and young adults support the Palestinian cause today if they haven't pulled the plug on me yet, young man?

Adults listen because you need to learn something. I'm about to teach you. I'm going to encourage you first and then teach you second. Well, this is the encouraging thing that this generation of young adults is very concerned about humanitarian causes you care about the helpless or the disadvantaged or the voiceless people and you are to be praised for that you never stop caring about the people who were disadvantaged um you because of your compassion for people who are why you quickly jump into certain causes and you're passionate about these things and that's why you know that you want to end sex trafficking and you want to know how to end world hunger and you're worried about the environment and all this and all these different causes and all these different problems and again I just want to say that because you care about people, especially those who are indisadvantage, never stop caring about people, your compassion is necessary, but now here is the challenge, you know why you are a part of it. cause and get the facts straight because sometimes you jump on the bandwagon of the latest cause, the latest issue, the latest group that seems to be disadvantaged and you don't even know why you're part of that cause and you can't even defend it intellectually and you end up looking dumb, you look dumb, most young people, in fact, many adults don't even know the history of the land of Israel that I just shared with you and that's why young adults are believing this false narrative. the Jews are the occupiers the Jews are the colonialists This is our land, you know, look, can you have compassion for the Palestinian people.

Okay, you should do it, but don't forget what happened on October 7, 2023 and stop trying to accuse the Israelis of being them. who are the bullies there are 22 Arab states 52 Muslim states one Jewish state who is the bully you tell me who is the bully now look, I am not defending everything that the Jewish people have done since 1948 returning to their Homeland was a disaster, it was found with resistance there was war and whenever there is war it is confusing and unfortunately the way they tried to get the land back was confusing and there were Palestinian families that were displaced from their homes and that created animosity even within the current generation of Palestinians against the Jews.

I have been on the Temple Mount listening to young Arab children chanting an Arab death to Israel, they are teaching their children to hate the Jews and that will continue to happen until finally someone realizes that this is the enemy this is evil this is evil so I'm not defending Israel for everything they've done, but to say that the land belonged to the Palestinians and that the Jews had never been there until they broke in in 1948 and took it by force, that's just intellectually dishonest and It is not true and I am also going to say this to you, young people, too.

In fact, listen to what fuels many young people, particularly those who care about human humanitarian causes, what often fuels your desire to jump to the latest humanitarian cause is because it makes you feel good, it makes you feel good, everyone We have a guilty conscience and the only way to really calm your guilty conscience is to go to God and obtain forgiveness through Jesus, but what happens is that some people, to alleviate your guilty conscience, take up good causes and young people get involved in something that today is known as moralistic therapeutic deism. What is that all about?

In 2005, a Harvard doctor now teaching at Notre Dame, Dr. Christian Smith, coined that term moralistic therapeutic deism to describe the generation of young adults who are making a God out of humanitarian causes. The moralistic part is: I want to do good, but when you do good you feel good, that is the therapeutic part and then you turn that into a God, that is the deism part and it is a dangerous place to be in because again you start to You jump on the bandwagon of the latest cause and the latest humanitarian thing and you haven't done your homework and you don't know the facts and you can't defend them intellectually and you end up looking stupid, so instead of trying to get your sense of well-being from this sense of humanitarian help, get your Feel good with Jesus and get a relationship with God and stay close to him and then you will know what is good, right and pure.

I'll end with question number five: how might all of this fit into Bible prophecy about the end times? go to Ezekiel chapter 38 Ezekiel chapter 38 there's a lot of discussion right now about whether this is the end of the world and how this all fits together and what this means whenever you see activity in Israel, especially when there's war, you should wake up, you should take note. and you should look at your Bibles to try to understand what is going on and in Ezekiel chapter 38 I will read the first six verses and then I will share my thoughts on how this relates or not. to current events Ezekiel 38:1-6 now the word of the Lord came to me saying son of man set your face against Gog of the land of Magog prince of imprudent meach and tual and prophet against him you see Circulate in your Bibles Gog Gog is a title means Prince or Lord little l or Tsar and he is the prince of Magog over certain cities eruption meach and tubal and God says to Ezekiel prophesy again prophesy against that guy verse three and says thus says the Lord God behold I am against you, O Gog, prince of the reckless Meshach and Tubal, I will spin you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with all your army, horses and riders, all splendidly dressed, a great company with shields and shields, all of them wielding swords, Persia , Ethiopia and Libya.

I would say yes and no.
