sedan from this brand that is causing quite a stir in the automotive industry, let's talk about what is happening here. Genesis, the brand has been around since 2015. Now, here's the interesting thing: it's actually the third generation of this vehicle and I know you're probably wondering and scratching your head how is it possible this is a

, obviously there was a derivative of the Genesis coupe, but this sedan is what It lit the flame for Hyundai to create its own premium brand and if you're wondering, why? they want to do that think about it lexus which is toyota toyota is lexus which is a premium brand nissan infiniti even when you look at the brands the american brands have been around for decades and decades chevrolet and then you have cadillac well guess what hyundai is creating the genesis brand We really are starting to fill out their lineup nicely in 2021, not only do we have a redesigned g80, but we also have the new midsize SUV, their first SUV known as the gv80 and if you haven't seen that review, I'll leave the link at the end of this, but one One thing is for sure: 21st century style is coming to the table, lots of luxury and some new technology that I think will blow your mind, so let's go ahead and find out.

This g80 is better than the mercedes-benz e-class, it's better than the audi a6 and even the mighty bmw 5 series, let's find out she loves the new styling, one of the things i think genesis is doing so smart are they. We are creating a brand identifier with this headlight design, if you look at the new gv80 suv, this g80 and even the upcoming gv70 suv which is a little bit smaller, you will get this split headlight design that really digs it all. Headlights with LED lighting, we have the dangers to show the turn signals and daytime running lights, the whole interior is nicely blacked out with just a bit of bright chrome finish, but the way the body carries and flows around the curve is very exquisite, it looks like something from Bentley or even Rolls Royce, but guess what, save your wallet because you are not going to spend all that money that you would spend on this g80, it is not going to cost that much and that is one of the big applauses for this vehicle.

Now as we move down, it has a functional side air curtain. I like the way this lower corner section has that criss-cross grille pattern and that will carry over to the main grille. We've got some shiny chrome on this horizontal bar. here, but it will direct the airflow directly into that air curtain, so it's nice to see the functionality, it's nice to see a cohesive design and I really like the way it has a concave shape just to give it a little more depth and flavor of the road. What they did, the front fascia was lowered, it looks clean and then when we get to the front, this can be a debatable topic.

The front of a Genesis G80 is practically all grille. I don't know at first when I saw. In a picture of this on the Internet I thought, "Hmm, I don't know if I'm digging into that, but the more I sit here and look at it, the way they bring that shape to the front of the vehicle is really working." completely functional and then of course they got that crisscross design that mimics from the bottom to the center area of ​​the grill, works its way down, comes to a good point, I like the way they take that color all the way to the point and then it expands. on the bottom I think that's what really helps the design and then of course with those super clean headlights you're not going to confuse this with any of the European German brands that I mentioned now when you get up on the hood I love the way it is.

It matches perfectly with the top of the grill because of the way they make their logo. I know a lot of people say, hey, it looks like a Bentley hand, it looks like an Aston Martin, hey, imitation is the best way to flatter them, if you can't beat them, join them. And guess what genesis is surpassing them because they are doing it their own different way, but I love the way they remove the body lines from their badges on the hood and they just disappear as you go towards the windshield, very very exquisite , very. elegant, very seductive for a midsize sedan now, when we come to the bend, of course, if we have all new sheet metal, we have to have a new wheel design.

I like the overall work being done with this g80 wheel. If you notice it, it imitates To shape it, the design imitates what happens with the grill, but it has a nice finish almost like brushed aluminum, you have your genesis badge and then you look at the size of those calipers, which are huge, with the genesis badge there, and that's it. to get an oversized rotor that is fully ventilated, this genesis will be able to stop in an instant and give it a certified shift through the brand through the company, plus the other great news is that this g80 is rear-wheel drive, it is a single wheel rear. it drives a midsize sedan so it's going to give you some really nice driving dynamics but the steering wheel looks super clean with our blacked out g80 in particular now as we go down the side this is something that I think was very smart from the beginning. these distinctive side marker lights I love the way they have nice shiny metal work and some ornate trim fit in perfectly and I'm telling you if you see this car going down the road you won't confuse it with anything else and it blends in perfect harmony with what's happening at the front of the business now, as we go down the side, you'll notice the hard lines of the body.

A nice hard line on the fender disappears when you enter the passenger side door. You will have a mirror that matches the color. Tops, we have a nice sized sunroof that I can't wait to show you when we get in. We have shiny metal work on both the top and bottom that I think works very cleanly. Some chrome trim on top of door handle. Here I think if you look at the other brands you'll see some of that same touch of style and then I think it was super clever, look at what they did below, so as you walk through this sexy door, there's a nice body.

The line is very clear here, but the wide enough chrome trim extends all the way to the rear. I think that's really what makes me stand out when I look at the side of the vehicle as we go down that nice sloping roof to the rear glass that just fades away, you have a great size in the quarter window. I love the way they take that shiny edge and widen it all the way to the rear pillar and then another thing I forgot to talk about was if you're wondering what size tires you're looking at. The 245 245 45 series all the way around will give you a good ride but it will also give you some grip and as we get closer to the rear fender that I'm going to have.

Lori swings around and I really think it's super sexy how that body line comes out of the rear passenger door and flares out into that nice fender and then if you notice, we lift up our taillights and they wrap around like two fingers, two LED fingers. wrapping mimics exactly what's happening from the front of the business to the back of the business, all the LED lights have a little bit of chrome trim along the edge here of the trunk. I like the kick up that will take the place of the trunk lid spoiler. but look at the touches, you see where they put the trunk release button, hence the sticker here, but that would come off obviously when you buy this vehicle, it mimics the shape of the Genesis grille, the clean 21st century badge, g80 is everything what do you need. 3.5 liter turbo, yes.

We have the V6 biturbo. You can get it with all-wheel drive. It's optional, but let me show you what's happening with the exhaust. You have this nice decorative exhaust ring located behind it, but look how the shape is exactly the same. like the grille, it's those touches that let you know Genesis goes above and beyond and then the only thing I'm going to do in the back is the fake ventilation. It's good that it looks like what's at the front of the business, but you do. Have your reverse lights nice and low. I like this shelf that is built into this lower diffuser area.

It really gives it a nice, clean, different look, but why don't we move on while we pop the hood and take a look? that 3.5 liter twin turbo engine, well guys, we put the hood on the g80, they have hydraulic struts under the hood, tasteful engine cover, wish it had a little more color, but you could see the reinforcements they put in. on the front end of the business to stiffen it up a little bit and give it good handling because remember we're in a good rear wheel drive setup on the sedan, but what you're looking at is a 3.5 liter twin. turbo v6 there is a smaller engine option but we're not even going to mention it now because I like what I see with this twin turbo engine, 375 horsepower, 391 lb-ft of torque, it's mated to an 8 speed transmission. automatic transmission 0-60 in about 5.2 seconds mpg not bad at all 19 city 27 highway and the car weighs 4,231 pounds, it's nice to see that you can actually see some of that twin-turbo V6 instead of being totally encased in plastic, but if you open the hoods of the competition, you'll get the same overall feel and end up under the hood, but as we go, let's go inside that and see what great things Genesis is bringing to the table.

Alright, guys, come in. the limpet luxury that this genesis g80 is all about, especially for 2021. I know you're at that point. You're like Joe, just like you. I've been using Google. I have been using the Internet. You have it open for wood. I love the silver trim on the door handle, the speaker cover on top and then as you go down look inside. In the middle, this has the optional Lexicon sound system, 21 speakers, look at the speaker grill cover, absolutely beautiful and that's what the Genesis brings. The door pocket is a decent size, you'll be able to get your foot long deli combo on the subway and probably a can of dr pepper to wash it all down, but I really love the way everything flows to the edge of the armrest, a very clean design, a very fresh design now that we get to the dashboard, soft touch material like on that door. panel the open pore wood I almost feel like I can hear the tree that was cut down for this wood being cut down that's how cool it feels how cool it looks look how cool that is you have your 10 inches you have your 12 inches we have 14 and a half inches of visual pleasure that hits you with a touch in the eyes I love its clarity the graphics the wide view is incredibly sexy it really is a touch screen yes, we open the menu very easily I like the way they write to lower it a little, let me continue go ahead and walk you through some of the settings with it, of course, you'll have Apple Carplay, you'll have Android Auto, we've got that nice swipe feature, you can make the sounds. of nature, so you go into that and you could play the sound of the forest.

I hope so. It was a little bigger, I'm sure some of you heard that from time to time, but it would be nice if it filled the screen a little more, but they have a track record, which is awesome. I want to show you behind this two tone steering wheel and our genesis g80. Alright guys, we're inside the genesis g80. They have two memory seat configurations. I like the nice, sleek silver aluminum sill panel. It would have been nice if it had some LED lighting, so I'm going to zone it, but it looks stylish here during the day. You have the seat controls that are very easy to get to adjust lower. lumbar area in the back of the seat and then I have a lot of headroom here. I'm six feet tall, it feels great, very comfortable, I like how high the center console goes up and the armrest feels really good on my elbow. wheel, you know, most of the time I don't like this style, but I'm getting interested.

I'm actually doing a little more research here than before. The two tone gv80 really works, I think it goes really well with everything else, but you have the gray around the outside and then you have the beige on the inside with a little bit of silver trim, thumb wheel units and then there's our dashboard, this is your standard dashboard, you can get an optional 12 inch 3D digital screen, but it's nice to show you all the different models and we'll also show you the higher models, but we have an analog speedometer, it has that digital screen there where you can see all kinds of different readings, there's our Of course, you've got your lane tachometer, keep helping all the benefits in the center and also remember I told you we had different modes so you have your custom sport and eco modes to use while you drive I like the pleasant.

It's unique, it's on the gv80 of this genesis g80 and I'm sure it will be on the smaller gv70, but it's actually very nice and smooth. You have those 45 series tires, so they are not too low to give you a harsher ride. and the chassis is definitely set up for comfort. I could feel its overall softness, but nothing too soft to wear, it just rolls back and forth through the twisted parts. I love all the open materials for wood finishing. wonderful to reach everything is phenomenal, you have the touch screen. I know it's always a sore point, especially when we look at certain brands that are in this same segment that don't do anything if you touch the screen besides putting fingerprints on it. the touch screen, but you also have the ability to navigate using that direct drive control knob in the center, very stylish and tasteful, the visibility in the rear is super clear, you have nice big mirrors, of course, all the different safety features and then that infotainment system is just mental.

Playing the Lexicon sound system will give you nice tunes as you drive down the road, but it's very quiet here which is nice, it's got good weight to the steering, nothing too heavy which is wonderful, and then you've got those big calipers They're going to slow down now as you go across the board. It has that analog tachometer. I like the paddles on the steering wheel. They're actually a pretty good size considering this isn't some kind of luxury sports sedan, but it does have these nice silver finished vanes. on the turn signal stalks and wipers are very very tasteful and the way the dash flows nicely into the door panel really shows that they did a lot of design thinking before putting it together guys let's do it another throttle acceleration test, so you're definitely getting smooth shifts with that eight-speed automatic transmission and it's got really nice acceleration for a vehicle that weighs 4,200 pounds, really smooth and the way the vehicle overall provides an experience so serene it is that it is silent here. use high quality noise canceling windshield, thicker glass, the sound end is wonderful here, that will help with the overall experience while driving this genesis g80 and will definitely make it feel like a much more expensive vehicle than it is guys .

If you want to use the paddles, you get a gear indicator, second gear when accelerating, so the shifts are very, very nice and smooth using the paddles, so you can have that versatility whether you want it to shift automatically or with the paddles, and that will give you like I said, just a little bit more variety depending on what you want and remember we have it in sport mode, so it will adjust how the engine and transmission behave with each other.
