Of the century it's really that mid-size SUV competitor that goes up against models like the Audi Q7 and definitely the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. One thing is for sure, BMW feels this is really a sweet spot in their SUV lineup to suit many different types. the needs and wants of the family, so let's go ahead and dive into this

BMW You have your daytime running lights in a U shape, so it's interesting how they took the halo concept and integrated it into the design of their headlights, but fully LED and I think in this particular finish, the silver chrome on the top fits what you will see.

Around the rest of the front fascia now as we go down you have some other exterior lighting and you're also getting a matte black color so I'm glad to see it's matte black instead of gloss and a little bit of silver that really blends in. . Okay, now this bottom area is a Zonk for me. I wish this was actually functional. None of this is except channeling the air into the air curtain, so I wish they had done something with this empty space in this lower area, but you do have. a side air curtain that is functional another thing I have always liked about BMWs is how they make the corners of their front fascia, the way it extends on a downward slope gives it a nice look now that we find ourselves with the big grill.

It's something that's been a topic of conversation with a lot of different manufacturers, especially BMW, the size of the grill keeps getting bigger and bigger, especially on that x7, but you can see that the kidney shape is still there, it's almost like the shape. of a kidney butterfly. On the forward-facing camera, you can see how the hood blends into the chrome grille. We unfold downwards. Another thing I like about this particular x5 is that I like the brushed aluminum roof rails and the top and bottom treatment around the windows, which gives it a nice look. I have two memory settings for the driver's seat, which is always easy to access from the door. All the other seat controls will be down and you can get all those bolsters and everything set up the way you want on the steering wheel. I'll say it again BMW makes great steering wheels and they don't have to be flat bottomed to look sexy. Excellent appearance. I love the stitching work on the horn button, the silver trim, nice and easy to use thumb controls. You've got the paddles for that 8-speed automatic transmission, if you thought a 12-inch screen was cool, you've got a second one right in front of the speedometer on the left, tech.

I'm going to the right and then of course you could. switching between all types of information is very easy to navigate on that central screen, they are really clean, you have different modes that read on the screen and show you exactly where you are. The only thing this doesn't have is a head. I wish I had that for sixty-five thousand dollars, but the seats are great, everything else feels great, let's take a look at the back seat and see how your passengers will like this x5. Alright guys, backseat time in the x5. I love it, it's so easy to get in and out of these large door openings.

Here's a little intelligence. Check out this USB conveniently mounted so that when your kids' device goes off, they can plug in nicely. It has an easy access pocket, which is great. Nice little command center, so you have two air conditioning vents and they have their own digital readout on the air conditioning controls. A little tray here for the Snickers for the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and then even down below you have a 12 volt. so that's also another good feature. I have a USB view so we're not fighting between seats. I like the angle they sit at.

The armrests are very hard like old German pastry. That's not comfortable. The reason is that you have a place to get your things. I'm going to go ahead and put it in sport mode, that's going to change the way you know all the engine drive steering parameters. all that good stuff, let me go ahead and speed up. Wow, it definitely has a lot of acceleration when shifting, you can hear a little purple coming from the exhaust. Now the big question is how much of this is artificial, how much of this. it's real BMW is known for transmitting a lot of that sound through its speaker system, it sounds good sure, it's 100% real, no that's part of the challenge of cars today and keeping things quiet, but also incorporating some of that environment into the cockpit area, but it's really easy to see.

I like the way I have the navigation here, which I can make nice and big, but there's also navigation in front of me, let's see how we handle the throttle and brakes. This isn't an M car by any means, but it still handles very well, the all-wheel drive keeps us planted and we're going and shifting smoothly, even in sport mode, a little more deliberate and purposeful, but this thing definitely has a lot to get up and go, really smooth and the wind noise is to say the least, here everywhere you play the materials are great and I'm telling you there's a point on the money where they have the design of everything.

I could access the touch screen if I want to do that, I don't. If I want to use the touchscreen, I can go ahead and use BMW's idrive control to keep my hand away from that screen, but it's very, very smooth. I think the thickness of the steering wheel is perfect and it definitely feels like a higher level fit. Finish. Feel the technology. on this vehicle it is second to none and very very smooth when I take it over an Audi q7 yes I think this is definitely when it comes to sport when it comes to the interior.

I like the design here much more than the Audi. q7 when I take it in a g it depends on you, I think generally I would just because I feel Mercedes products are too over the top. I think there's a good balance, but hitting the accelerator again slows down the ZF 8-speed. Telling you, boy, best automatics in the business, really, really nice, good brake pedal, feel this. I'm going to remind you that this is not an SUV by any means, but it still shows that it's in BMW's DNA to really bring that feel, technology and all.

On all of their SUVs I did another acceleration test with the accelerator. I tell you, Sport mode works very well when you keep it right in the sweet spot of the power band, very smooth, but very smooth, but I hope this gives you a nice overall feel for what this BMW is all about. x5 is about getting back to Furman BMW and finishing this, so I'll see you guys in a split second.
