s sit at the top of the relatively new mid-market segment that is probably the most attractive to most consumers. Now you may not know

phone to choose. Moving on this year, so today I want to compare some of the key features between the iPhone 12 and the Pixel 5 to help you decide

which

phone is best for you now, before we jump into this review, if you're new here, I'm basically the guy that tests the newest and most popular technology before you buy it to make sure you are informed and don't make any purchasing mistakes.

Long time to see that they are quite different, let's start with the iPhone 12. Apple implemented a more classic design approach with this phone using glass on both the front and the back. Connect it using an aluminum body. That may sound simple enough, but the iPhone 12 uses Apple's new industrial design with that beautifully machined flat frame and, like all Apple devices, the build quality here is top-notch, the glass blending seamlessly into the frame. metal, there is no space at all and really, without exaggeration, this is one of the most premium feeling phones in the world. handheld and despite being a fingerprint magnet, there's no doubt that the iPhone 12 is absolutely stunning, it's also very comfortable to use with the smaller form factor, which is a welcome change of pace as phones move forward. slowly moving into tablet territory, now Google has also gained a similar direction with the dimensions of the Pixel 5 making it much more comfortable to use with one hand and solidifying it as one of the most comfortable Pixels ever created, making it making it much less cumbersome to hold and operate and it's clear that Google is doubling down on its utility focus with the Pixel lineup, this is best illustrated by the phone's build material, the Pixel 5's unibody design is made from 100% recycled aluminum, avoiding the use of lenses here, plus the aluminum has a coating that gives it a fairly opaque matte finish at all times.

It's great at repelling micro-scratches and fingerprints, but it doesn't exactly feel like your stereotypical premium device. It definitely won't be winning any beauty contests anytime soon, but what you get in return is a rugged phone packed with all kinds of utilities you don't have. to baby around the

5 is the only phone this year that I felt completely comfortable using without a case, and in turn, making it the phone I use most often when hiking or any other outdoor activity . It's a totally different vibe. When compared to something as pristine as the iPhone 12 and in some ways it is very refreshing, at the end of the day the design will come down to preference when determining which one is right for you, without a doubt the iPhone 12 is the most premium. and higher quality when it comes to build and I should also note that many people contacted me on Twitter and YouTube to tell me that their

pixel

5 has a noticeable gap between the frame and the glass that mine does not have.

That problem, but you'll never see that on an iPhone Apple holds itself to the highest standards when it comes to build quality, something that Google may not have mastered yet, but if you're looking for a phone that you can pop in and out of a bag. Without feeling anxious all the time about getting minor scuffs and scuffs, the Pixel 5 is a great option and one of the main reasons why the smaller dimensions of both phones work so well is because of their respective screens to ensure that you can still get an immersive user experience. Both Apple and Google equip their phones with edge-to-edge displays and they're both pretty fantastic.

Both are OLED panels with roughly the same dimensions and comparable resolutions, and viewing content on either phone is a truly enjoyable experience. All goes well. The crisp colors are bright and vibrant, you get great contrast with those inky dark blacks and they both have very good screen-to-body ratios. Now the pixel 5 inch is a little bit ahead of the iPhone 12 here mainly for two reasons number one, because it only has one hole. punch-hole for the front camera, the display is more immersive and notch-free, allowing for less interrupted content consumption, and more importantly, the display has a variable refresh rate of 90 hertz, which helps deliver a

better

experience. smoother and silkier user experience when browsing the phone now iPhones have always been well optimized and their standard 60Hz refresh rate is still very smooth and has never posed any problems, but the lack of a promotional type screen is something which should be noted as this is now a comparison when it comes to other main features.

For starters, a mix of similarities and minor differences - while the Pixel 5 uses its older fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone as a biometric security measure, the iPhone 12 uses its internal Face ID system - there are definitely pros and cons for both. Pixel is an older technology, but because the sensor is on the back, you get a

better

screen-to-body ratio on the display. Face ID, on the other hand, is much more advanced and, in my opinion, a more convenient security measure, but you pay for it. That notch at the top of the screen When it comes to base storage, the Pixel 5 comes standard with 128 gigabytes, while the base model iPhone 12 comes with a fairly paltry 64.

However, when it comes to speakers, both will provide stereo sound. The Pixel 5 has an in-display speaker which is a bit off-putting, especially compared to the loud, balanced sound coming out of the iPhone 12. Both phones can take advantage of wireless charging and, when it comes to battery life , both phones do quite well. You easily get around 7 hours of screen time and both phones perform very well even with some aggressive testing. Now go ahead and recognize the Pixel 5 here because it has seen a huge improvement in battery life over last year and it's really impressive how good the battery life is.

It's on this phone even with a relatively compact form factor and advanced hardware like the higher refresh rate display, but probably the most notable difference between these two phones will be their processors. One of the most controversial decisions Google made with the Pixel 5 was to equip it with the Snapdragon 765g processor, a strong but clear mid-range processor compared to the Snapdragon 800 series and, honestly, I haven't experienced any significant performance issues yet. During my daily use, there are no noticeable delays or hiccups even when I do a few things. Spec intensive games, the only area so far where performance stutters are seen is with the camera.

Photos take a few seconds to process after you press the shutter, since the Pixel 5 no longer has a dedicated processor for image processing, it probably will. It won't be a problem for most, but it is representative of perhaps some of the limitations around the 765g. Apple, on the other hand, has equipped the iPhone 12 with its newest a14 bionic processor, arguably the most powerful chip available on the consumer smartphone market today and as you would expect the performance of this phone to be pretty incredible now that iOS It has been so well optimized for so long and now it will continue to get that smooth UI experience that we all love and expect and of course things like gaming. on this phone it's a piece of cake even for long sessions and i would say the biggest flex of the bionx a14's muscles is in its ability to handle the intense camera functions of the iphone, most people don't recognize how much power it takes this phone to use complex software enhancements like next-gen smart HDR and portrait mode while you get a live preview in the viewfinder of everything that happens and it only takes a few seconds for the data to be processed and the images not only play instantly the quality of the images that come out of both.

The front and rear cameras are fantastic, the selfies are sharp with bright and accurate colors. Apple continues to do its best with skin tones and doesn't go overboard with artificial portrait mode enhancements. Now the Pixel 5 is no slouch in the camera or selfie department. The selfies that come out of this phone are also exemplary, having a cooler temperature, great contrast and a really easy on the eyes color profile compared to head to head. I tend to prefer selfies that come out of the iPhone just a little more, they're more natural and not. kind of artificially enhanced and I like Apple's colors here a little better, but it really comes down to preference.

Both phones show some of the best selfies with any camera right now; However, when it comes to front-facing videos, the iPhone 12 comes in handy. Way ahead, everything from colors to dynamic range is much better compared to the Pixel 5 and being able to shoot 4k video at 24, 30 or 60 frames per second really allows for more versatility if you shoot a lot of front-facing video. On a day-to-day basis, when it comes to the cameras on the back, they both do an excellent job, the iPhone and the Pixel have been fighting to determine which is the best phone for photos for a couple of years and For me, they still We're neck and neck, the Pixel 5 does a little better with dynamic range and balances shadows a little more than the iPhone 12.

Again, it'll really depend on preference, but I still feel like the Pixel delivers photos. which most will be very satisfied with in almost any shooting environment, practically every time you press the shutter on this phone you will be happy, but once again when it comes to video the iPhone 12 takes a big step forward, Apple was quite extra this year, as the new iPhones can record 4k video in 10-bit Dolby Vision HDR, allowing this phone to get hands down the best smartphone video footage, the colors in the dynamic range are so impressive and again this is where the a14 bionic is really winning.

Your salary, the amount of data this phone captures to get this type of video is much more comprehensive than it seems and while the 4k video footage coming out of the Pixel 5 is fine, it's not on the same level as its ability to Photography. and clearly behind the iPhone here, so while a lot of this will come down to preference, in my opinion the iPhone 12 is the most complete package when it comes to cameras and it's a no-brainer if you're primarily into video with the El pixel 5 is a hundred bucks cheaper, it definitely helps close any little gaps where the phone might fall slightly behind and man it's really hard to say which one is better, quote unquote, without a doubt the pixel 5 is the more refined phone that Google has ever created. done and I feel like it's made a lot more improvements over last year and I can totally understand why it's so popular now.

The iPhone 12 may not have made as many major changes from the previous year, but it definitely made changes in key areas, counts and will likely be considered the more polished and attractive option for those buying at this price, ultimately the good one. news is that it will be hard to be disappointed if these are your two options, so at the end of the day it will really come down to your preferences and really what type of user you are.
