Hello ID, welcome to my house, please come in, so we are here in New York City and in my house, when I bought the house that existed a long time ago, I was only 24 years old now. I think it was completely different, each room was like a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment and it was pretty run down and tired and needed a big renovation, but I decided I wanted to take care of that and this is what we did. This is the room in which the house was originally built. 1861 I decided I wanted to do a historic renovation, so we did it down to the brick and you could stand in the basement and look up and in fact, a row of like three

s were built all together here, which is really cool and there's a little hidden secret

that connected them all so when they were working on them the builders could walk between all three houses at the same time and then they just closed it and did this little thing.

This is really cool because this was here and we discovered it, it was painted and all covered up and then we discovered it and it was like this beautiful old gold mirror and this is our piano, which the kids play, this is the biggest room because it encompasses all the way it's the most formal room, but now it's become kind of a playroom because we have four kids, so there's a baby Pierre next to the big piano and we actually have a lot of toys in here and sometimes , there was a ball pit. Here as a kitchen, it had been converted into someone's apartment, so we refinished it and put in these really beautiful sliding

Oh, it doesn't work, these are really beautiful doors that don't work, so everything looks like it's always been here, but it really wasn't. There was nothing here, so this is all new. I actually climbed up on scaffolding and helped do all the plaster molding when we were working on the house because the way they did it was so amazing, they did it all by hand. and it was really beautiful and this is kind of like a library or TV room that's very quiet even though we're on the corner, we're in the West Village somehow this room is very quiet and it's a really nice place to work.

I have this. Crazy crystal here that I always come in contact with for good luck because someone told me it's really good for creative energy. I have many collections of strange and random things. This came from a Punkin and MacLean movie a long time ago. I collect typewriters. There's an amazing tree back here that has all these amazing types of twisted branches. It's actually a magnolia tree and once a year it blooms in the bedroom so all the flowers turn white and it's really beautiful and this is our kitchen where we spend a lot. Once I put the kitchen on the ground floor, many people put it in the living rooms of the large rooms but I liked it here below the garden and it is very cozy and the babies my little ones have are three and four sailors. and Lila and they just throw everything away, they have their cute little kitchen, which is very cute, they have all their things that they can cook, a little mini vacuum cleaner, which is their favorite toy in the world, we just play a lot here and we have a We had a great time cooking and eating and laughing and kind of an

This is that magnolia tree that is so beautiful its branches are It's surprising that this Ivy didn't use to be here when it grew up and it grew in our neighbor's house up to their roof and they are actually my friends and they called me and asked me to out of his house, so I've trimmed it down a bit. There is construction everywhere and our planes. I'm like a dinosaur. I still have a landline. I am very happy with my landline phone. In fact, most people don't have it anymore, but I will never let it go.
This is Neil, my sweet little sixteen year old dog who actually just passed away which is so sad and his dog walker Elisa did this hand drawing and it's so beautiful because it looks like him and he was the most amazing dog ever. have had. very good place here in our hearts always these are all my cookbooks I collect so many strange things about the cookie jar it's a telephone it's like a couple of cartwheels don't make fun like this did we build this couch so Can't we all stay here? Don't we do this all the time and watch movies and talk and then when people come to the door, I did this all the time and people knock on the window instead of ringing the doorbell, which is really funny. it's our laundry room in our basement the basement is secretly my favorite place in the whole house this was like something out of a horror movie down here it was like a dungeon, it was very scary and we destroyed it and put this laundry room in which I love it and that is my cedar closet which I won't take you to because it is full of junk, we have a small bedroom and a small bathroom before when family and guests come to stay this is one of my favorite places in the house even though it is In a bit of the basement that I stole this from, I was inspired by a friend of mine, Julian Schnabel, who is a really amazing artist and has a very beautiful house and in his house he has a lot of interesting tiles and color combinations .
Thanks, Julian. So now we go upstairs and this is one of the walls of photographs. I love photographs and photography. This is a beautiful Eve Arnold photograph of Marilyn Monroe, but then I mixed it with many personal family photographs and images. from the film sets and my children, so here we go up to the bedroom, we go up and down a lot of stairs every day, this is the children's floor, this is where they were all babies, they all started here as babies, it's really sweet place. I have many happy memories here, I read to them in this chair.
Many sleepless nights here, but this wallpaper is very fun and has a whale with the turtle riding on its back. I like it a lot. It has more sliding doors. I put these in a lot of places because I really like them. It is a very nice street. The fire trucks go by this street, which is not great when you have babies because at night you know it's right when you take them to bed by the fire. the truck comes by, one time we had a small fire in the laundry room and they were literally here and I mean three minutes, it was the most amazing thing ever.
I was so grateful for your New York City firefighters, oh this is an amazing thing. Milo's bedroom door over the years, he's now 14 and six feet tall, but it's all his stickers and then all the heights of each other throughout the year, so it's surprising that this is one of my favorite views of the house because it's that magnolia tree that I really love this area, you see, it has such crazy branches that are so strange and they kind of take the wrong turn and keep growing, so this is the master bedroom floor and everything the floor is just the master on top.
I put a skylight here and I went to this place to look at all the glass and I decided I wanted to put this rose tinted glass. I think everyone thought I was crazy. It gives off such an amazing warm light when you're on this. that's me when I was a baby I look a lot like Lula and then this is our master bedroom this is the master bathroom and I put pictures of my mom and my grandmother here in the bathroom with me yeah, I took a shower, those are called subway tiles, they're a thing. very classic New York, but I liked them in that blue color that has a little crunch to them.
We put the bathroom in the middle separating the master bedroom and the closet and I added more sliding doors because it was possible. I mean, I have an obsession with sliding doors and an obsession with pink glass. I didn't realize it but it all worked out that way but this is my closet this house is very special to me because I bought it when I was in my early 20s and this was really the first closet I had as an adult and when I grew up it was a very exciting thing to be able to build it and create the space and do whatever I wanted.
This wallpaper is really beautiful. This is decani. It's a pretty big trend now, but at the time I didn't know much about it. It is all painted and made by hand. I've always loved the way it reflects the light here in this room. This is the way to my attic and I thought maybe you would want to go up and see my attic with me, so this is my attic. I haven't been here for a while. It's very hot, but I have so many souvenirs here, like movie posters. stranger things my first California driver's license that's awesome The Late Show with David Letterman August 2, 2001 the back of my strangers chair that's hilarious Trivial Pursuit Joe Legolas we have a Barbie doll Arwen that's me this is awesome Lulu I would die if she Saw this, I never said this Tara because she's rotting in my attic in the dust, that's crazy.
I was a Barbie and I think this is something very special. This is my Lord of the Rings sword, which was a gift to me. Peter Jackson and the widow's workshop made me one of my own swords, which is beautifully hand carved and made. It's not sharp, but it has all the elven writings engraved on it and everything on it is very beautiful and it even came with this. little bag that had all the cleaning instructions to take care of your sword, please apply a light coat of oil from time to time, that's awesome, I haven't done it, we need all of us to hang out in my attic, thank you so much for coming . and visiting me at my house, goodbye for now
