I don't know how much you follow about this unless you follow the vlogs on quarterdigital.com. In reality, we are going backwards. In studio three there used to be a closet here and the refrigerator was right here. Remember when the refrigerator door would break every time we went to the refrigerator. Well, that was right here, so our refrigerator is now completely displaced here, um, and into the freezer. we don't have much, it's like 95 degrees in LA right now, you know it's hot enough to want a cold drink, but the problem is none of these things can keep my drink cold, sure they can, it's cold, this It's the worst ice ever.

This ice is impure and I cannot afford to buy new ice. Well, I could buy a new ice tray, but that's no fun and we're here on this channel to have fun, so I decided to use my 3D printer and a new vacuformer to make a new ice tray out of my

friends

' heads and, Hopefully at the end of it all I'll be able to enjoy a nice cold drink and who knows, maybe we can make other things like jelly or chocolate like the way I'm going to make ice

cubes

from all of us. I'm going to start by using this free app on your iPhone called Bellus 3D.

Sure, yeah, do it, make a YouTube thumbnail expression. Oh yes, of course, after scanning everyone's faces in Bella's 3D, I was able to import those models to Cinema 40, where I needed to make them. some important adjustments to prepare them for the training process. It's incredibly important to make sure there are no protrusions on the model, otherwise I wouldn't be able to get it out of the mold because you know it would get stuck, so I had to do that. This prints overnight and I have a couple different heads so this one printed in two hours. This was printed in eight hours.
Two different sizes of ice

cubes

. Here this one might be a little harder to put in a drink when I previously tried printing some ice cubes. Molds I printed with this material called tpu ninjaflex specifically which is a type of flexible plastic that didn't work very well because the prints leaked a lot so all the water leaked out before it could freeze so I'm going to try something new. I use this vacuum former today and I know it looks like a cardboard box, but I'll let you open it first and then we'll talk about it. What is a vacuum former?
You might ask, imagine taking a sheet of plastic and melting it. Put it around an object and then it sucks out all the air to make it fit around that object, but then the plastic hardens and then it's like a nice little piece of mold. This is the Meiku shape box. It is a vacuum cleaner the size of a desktop computer. Farmer, it means you don't have to spend thousands of dollars on a huge vacuum former if you just want to suck up shapes like small parts. I'm very excited about this. I have never had a vacuum farmer before.
This is like some Adam Savage thing here, ah look, this is a tube, it's a tube, it's a tool, look at the size of the power company, they're expecting some amps, okay, so now I have to figure out how to do it. this. Don't think it will be very difficult to understand and once I do, I will put my face there like this and make a mold like this, like this. Hey guys, I just got off the phone with Nico and Ren and it looks like they're creating ice heads and, uh, it sounds really complicated. One thing that's not complicated is using today's Squarespace sponsor because they have beautiful, award-winning templates and 24/7 award-winning customer service.
It sounds simple enough. As simple as using Squarespace's multi-contributor tool, you can have different people contribute different things to your site with different levels of access. The next thing Squarespace has is the traffic overview tool. You can overview your own website traffic and see where people are coming from. what people use your site for and how to improve it Squarespace has an audio blocks feature which allows you to publish things like podcasts to your site and last but not least, Squarespace has simulcasting features which means you can post once to Squarespace and it will automatically like your Twitter and Facebook profiles and automatically format according to those profiles.
Hey man, are you in the studio, uh, yeah, and I heard you were 3D scanning people's faces and stuff, yeah, yeah, that's pretty complicated and what I was trying to communicate, it was like If nothing were easier than using square space. I mean, I could see that yes, there is a lot of complexity in what I'm doing. It seems that you have to solve it well. I just want to leave you. You know this and if you're interested head on over to the squarespace.com broker, that's right you get 10 off your first website or domain purchase what a bargain great I think it went well let's see where they are with their ice cubes.
This is like one of the thickest cables I've ever seen. It's thicker than a bowl of oatmeal. Now we need our materials. So this is a sheet of plastic that is going to melt. Unfasten this lift. Place the plastic piece. there, this sliding panel here actually holds the plastic and this thing heats the plastic evenly and after about two minutes or so the plastic is ready to form, the box of four actually

turn

s on the vacuum because it connects the vacuum to the vacuformer this is smart enough to know exactly when to start applying suction at the right time we have the shop vacuum we plug in the form box and everything is connected the following for all cases and purposes this is ready to go so too Another concern is that this could be too hot and could melt the 3D print.
I think it'll be fine, but we'll figure out that we put this guy right in the middle here. Well, I can see it falling. Ah, there it goes, it's starting to fall. oh it's falling, it's falling, are you ready, yeah, yeah, it's moving the truth, it looks cool, the power of sucking, okay, I'll let it cool, buddy, oh my god, I'm excited, so Now comes the moment of truth, can I remove this piece? There we go that's pretty good that's pretty good there's a huge seam along my forehead which sucks but overall it

turn

ed out great so my two heads so far I'm going to print the four heads even smaller than this one to Make it actually even more the size of an ice cube, something that can fit in a glass.
That way I can print all four heads in the same print session and also be able to place all four heads on the same bed to make the same tray so that way I can have a single ice tray with our four heads, all four men of the ice apocalypse cubes, okay, the video is over, so with the ice trays ready to go, I decided to create even larger molds with enlarged head prints that way. I can surprise the guys with some extra treats, so after everything is ready and in the refrigerator, I'll bring them over to show the guys that you guys look a little dry, it's a little hot, yeah, we need some glasses, we need some water. peter, we got some ice, we can each have our own head twice, how nice looking, I'm a little me, mate, that's awesome, I'm gonna grab mine, I think I broke mine a little, yeah, the Mine broke a little, here I am, oh wait, can I listen?
Your eyes, friend, don't you see the resemblance? Very good, so refreshing. I can easily print more of these heads and make a whole tray of like a dozen ice cubes on the Quarter Crew Ice Cube Trays website. Leave a comment below if you want us to do that, but hey, the best thing about this method is that it's a mold that you can fill with anything and so far what we've been doing is making ice cubes, but you can fill these molds. with other things and something very easy to do well, I'll show you, I'll show you first.
I'll show you this one. You went crazy, so this one is already falling. We will do this one. last one what's up nico oh my god look at the jiggle look at that jiggly hey this is the first head that actually has a semblance of reality let's dig in oh he's eating his chin you're like eating your nose eat your nose look at this my god it's really weird biting your face like it feels weird. Have more? That's really good. Actually, let's see what your wife thinks of all this. She's like a classic. Come on buddy, I have to wait, wait, wait, wait.
No, no, for those I forgot to use cooking oil, but for this one I didn't forget, so I have a feeling it will turn out fine. Come on, I think it's time for me to sip. You may have noticed that there is no gelatin. peter head well, i knew peter doesn't like gelatin i turned your head into a giant bowl of frozen tomato soup i don't know how well this is going to come out of the mold look at that god, i got my alright peter, meet your soup frozen tomato I think thank you waiter you are very lucky peter oh wait bite your nose mmm behind like fucking explosion residue oh my god hey it's voldemort peter voldemort peter oh right through the nose brainstorm this is strangely cathartic there's no one else like emotionally scared by the fact that you're turning upside down consuming it, it's kind of weird, weird, did you know it's super weird, but whoever gets the opportunity to do this kind of stuff, I think the coolest part of all ?
All this is the fact that now you can easily make molds. We could do a lot of things like accessories and novelties with this. Absolutely at any time we need to make hundreds of something we can, like we can design it in 3D. print it out and then we can shape it and then make hundreds of those things that I printed, alright guys, thanks for watching, I'm glad I can finally drink cold water, but it's still not cold at the moment I've been waiting for this. all the time so make sure you subscribe who knows what we'll do next week.
We have crazy, crazy ideas everywhere. I'm drinking a glass of water with my head like an ice cube. I mean, how wild is that, thanks for watching. and see you in the next video
