i got SCAMMED by WISH

Jun 08, 2021
- Thanks to LastPass for sponsoring this part of the video. Hello and welcome back to "Wishtery Tech", the dumbest show on the internet where I buy random things on Wish and make fun of them for the next 13 minutes. Wait a minute. That seems ridiculous. They are triggers for an iPhone. I mean: yes. The answer is yes. You can buy a complete gaming PC kit. So they have very carefully blurred what the chip is. Although it looks like it comes with a cooler. I'm really tempted by this one, but $760 is about $500 more than it's worth. - But we have to try for scientific reasons. - I'll add it to the cart.

We will consider it. $760, man. Galaxy Z, foldable case. Do not fall. Bare metal feel. Precise hole position. (screeching recording) Wait, wait. (Austin exclaiming) It's a USB cable with a hidden SIM card where you can use it to track people by GPS. So weird. I mean, this is definitely a disgusting city, 5,000. What is this? 2018 fashion mirror book air. It's like a mini MacBook but it's actually a mirror. Then you can use it as a small mirror. Wait a minute. Did you know that $700 motherboard CPU combo I found before. I found one with RAM included for $470. They are trying to scam me.

They are trying to scam me. Mini 4K HD my video capture card. This is what everyone has been using for Twitch, right? The i12 pro is the iPhone 11 but with four cameras. - Close enough. - 95 dollars. Made. Our grand total is $635, but with my promo code, it's only $508.61. Welcome back to "Wishtery Tech".
It's been about two months since I last ordered products and I have literally forgotten everything I ordered. So let's see what this is. Oh. Oh, I know what this stupid thing is. We ordered this before the iPhone 12 was announced and this is the i12 Pro. Now, it apparently has eight gigs of RAM and 512 gigs of storage, which seems like a great deal. More than you get on the real iPhone 12 Pro. Well, definitely some Apple quality packaging. So if you subscribed to our second channel, “This Is,” you know that we made an entire video on a fake iPhone we got from Wish.
That one was pretty solid. This is not OK. Alright. I'm very disappointed. Very disappointed, right away. - Is that a pixel? - It looks like a pixel. Are you trying to tell me it's an iPhone? - They didn't even try! - They didn't even try! Look at the chin! Do you see the size of the chin? - The forehead is a little there. - But you know what? It has an HD camera. How can you argue with a deal like that for whatever we paid for this? - $95, plus $12 shipping. - Welcome. - Oh, there's that one, there's that Chinese text. - Okay, this is just Android with a couple of iOS icons.
Can you see this? (Matt exclaiming) Do you see it? Look, look at this. Do you see the frame rate when I move my hand here? Ready and... (phone sound) - Wow. - That was so disappointing. Wow. The photo captures very well, but it took so long that my happy face turned into a very upset and confused face. This is not an iPhone 12. If you buy this thinking you're getting an iPhone 12, you were unfortunately wrong and Wish deserves to take your money. I don't think I've been this disappointed since the last time I bought something on Wish.
So let's move on to the next point. I'm sure it will be much better. (Ken laughs nervously) - I don't know about that boss. - Very good, the next thing we have is a USB cable. Oh, this is the incomplete bull (beep). Well. So on the surface this looks like any standard USB cable. If you look back, you will see a lot of things about data transmission. You can easily buy it in a store and not think twice. You can hand it to someone you want to spy on because this is our GPS cable. So I guess the idea is that you give this to someone you want to spy on.
Like, "Oh, here's a telegram for you." They plug it in. And then you get creepy. I wonder if this really works though. I wonder how this works. So the cable looks like a normal lighting port. I mean, I guess the only thing I can say is that the USB-A is a little thick, but come on. If I handed you that cable, would you look at it twice? - Probably not. - That looks good. That's what's there. - I do not like that. (Ken laughs nervously) - So it's a MediaTek processor. Then we have inserted a GSM SIM card.
So it actually calls specifically. It will work with a few different frequencies. If this really works, it's a little scary (bleep). Well, it connects like a normal cable. Now if I connect it to the iPhone, will it work? He does it. Well. - Oh, it loads. Well. - Which makes sense, right? If you're trying to spy on someone, you wouldn't give them a fake wire, right? It has to be able to charge. - It needs to turn on by itself, right? - Yes. Okay, I really can't understand this. However, texting doesn't actually do anything. So I sent him a bunch of different text messages.
All the different codes it tells me, none of them give me anything back. Hey? I mean, I don't know what to say here. I mean, I can believe there is a scenario where this works but we have a SIM card that supports the correct frequency. We are in an area where I can see that we have great service on the network. I feel like we could probably figure out how to make this work. And I kind of don't want to. Don't follow your friends, kids. Because that is illegal. Believe. Probably. If it's not, it should be.
Let's throw the cable in the trash. - Safely. - Hundred percent. Court! Alright. What do we have next? The PUBG Gadgets helmet. So the idea is that I think you have triggers on the back, which essentially just touch the top of the screen. Well. Now I understand why they call it The PUBG Helmet. Okay, the PUBG helmet. I don't know if you can... Wait, you didn't understand that when you saw it on the box? - Yes, but I thought they were just making a joke. It is actually legit and looks like the PUBG helmet. Alright. In theory, I already have it configured.
So let's see if it really works. Oh here we go. Alright. Check it out! Dude! This is really good. OK that's fine. - Oh, use it to your advantage! He doesn't have what you have. - Oh, I'm trying. I'm not going to lose to the robot. - Is fleeing. Get him! - Here we go. Look, I'm absolute trash. It feels like you are using a normal controller. I'll be completely real with you. If you play a lot of first person shooter games. Specifically things like PUBG that will allow you to move the interface because ultimately with these controls you need to have it on the top left because you can't and won't extend any further.
But if you're playing a game like PUBG that lets you rearrange things, this is really good. And ultimately, controls are usually the main problem for me when playing games like this on my phone. I hate just using full touch controls. I mean, of course, to get the best kind of experience, you can get a controller, but I've never really liked controllers for phones. Especially since you usually have to put your phone on a clip. It's a little big and bulky. It's small enough that you won't even notice it, but you get that nice tactile feedback. - It's also cheap. - How much was this? - It was $5.35, with $2 shipping. - Seven dollars? 1000% worth it.
Finally! Something about this video that doesn't suck. Thank you Desire. Did you know? Now I feel much better about my life. Usually when we do "WishteryTech", it's just pain and misery for all the money we wasted. But this time I have a small mini MacBook to feel better. The MirrorBook Air. So this is almost entirely a silly, funny joke. It's based on the MacBook Air, but in case you're not an astute viewer, the pun is that it's a mirror. Ha ha, hilarious. Did I buy this because I thought it was a really cheap MacBook? Maybe. but hey, it's okay.
That's a real Apple logo. Ah OK. - Let's be realistic here. You bought it for the miniature. - I may or may not have bought this for the miniature. I bought a... Look, it's great. So the Apple logo is upside down when you open it. Unlike a real MacBook. As? How did you let it get to this point? (sad piano music starts) You started off with really honest tech reviews. People respected you until you put two power supplies in that computer in "Scrapyard Wars." And now you're talking to a mirror, scrolling through Wish garbage, and you just wait, wait... - At least we won't put you in a Wish costume. - Because I bought these items.
If you guys chose him, he'd definitely be dressed as Big Bird right now. Oh, wow. What do we have here? This is fun. It never ends. We have so much randomness. Oh, the capture card. I definitely looked at this for a minute. I thought, I have no idea what the hell I bought. Alright. There are many different capture cards you can buy. Many of them were sold from Elgato. Which you can use to run your camera or your game console, whatever, on your PC. So you can record a broadcast. Now the problem with these is that, well, first of all, some of them were really hard to find this year.
And more specifically than that, they're all a bit expensive, which is where the loop video capture device comes into play. It has an HDMI input and a micro USB for power. And on the other hand, it will loop that video and for some reason it has a USB-A port. How do you connect this to your PC? It comes with the micro USB cable which I think is for power, but to connect it to your computer, you need a USB-A. A USB-A male. - USB-A to USB-A. - Wait, but it didn't come in the box? - It didn't arrive, no, that's literally it.
It was supposed to come with this. Fast forward until we acquired a USB-A to USB-A cable. And why don't we see how our game "WishteryTech" works? will work. So I'm going to connect it to the Surface Laptop Go. I think it is not a device that should be particularly suitable for streaming, but it works. Ah OK. I'm getting some color bars. So something is happening. Let's plug this into the X-Box and monitor and see what happens. And we'll plug it in... Oh, well, that works right away. - So this is via USB-2. -USB-2. It's probably 1080p, 30, I guess.
Hey, here we go. I'll free up space later. So yeah, I mean, this seems to work. - So wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. - It looks like 30. - It looks like 30, but there's basically no latency, which is something I've always expected from USB-2 capture cards. - Although, to be fair, you can spend a little more money and get a version similar to this, except it will support 4K streaming and you can get it on Amazon for about $10 more. But I mean, it is what it says it is. It does what it says it does. Especially if you're just starting out streaming, this is a good way to do it.
I'll say thumbs up. Mostly. - Except you don't have to get it from Wish. - Well, as always, you never have to get anything from Wish. We just do it because he makes stupid videos. (Austin humming) Is that the motherboard you just threw on the table? I saw you hesitate for a second and then you threw it. Alright. You've obviously tried building PC components from Wish. It never really ended well. Let's see what we have here. We have a SATO cable, an IO shield and an A55 motherboard without a CPU. Is this all that comes in the box?
There is nothing else here. Because there is literally only one motherboard here. - Yes. - It is supposed to be a combination of motherboard CPU and RAM. - And a cooler. - How much was this again? - This was $471! (Austin screaming) (Austin breathing heavily) - Are you trying to tell me that I spent almost $500 on Wish.com for a motherboard worth at most $27? No CPU, no cooler, no RAM. I'm going to cut it in half. I will break it in half and it will make mefeel better. - Don't break a $471 motherboard! That thing is worth 471 dollars. - Oh, that's really very strong. - Look, it's that $500 build quality!
I feel like the notice should have been when it said it was a quad core dual core AMD CPU. It never actually says to include a good brand. He never said any of these things. There is only one picture showing RAM and CPU and they just call it motherboard package. -Very well, I guess that's all then. Thank you very much for watching this episode of "WishteryTech". I hope you're subscribed because if you do, I can promise you that you'll probably never have to watch another episode of "WishteryTech" again, as long as you have that bell ringing and my heart in your hand.
What does that mean? It means I'm just trying to keep that little voice inside me from screaming. I'm screaming right now. Thanks Ken. I feel better about my life now that I don't have to look at my $470 mistake.
