that I've been hiding from you for a while, but has now debuted and been fully revealed on the channel I'm on. I'm so excited. this thing you have no idea real quick real quick before we get into the details of this truck because there are a lot of them ah oh it's not there oh I'm disappointed in this the guys at advanced auto parts picked it up because we literally just ran From all the enthusiastic details , we used a lot, I'm talking like five gallon buckets, a lot and literally there this morning we were detailing Del Monaco for the giveaway photos.

I ran out of detailing spray, so I ran out to move forward. and I grabbed these things and, uh, stripes, streams, spikes and spots, look at these guys, they're not trying to knock these guys, but they're definitely not as good as the enthusiast stuff, no, no, no way, yes no enthusiast is much better yes i love that stuff yes in fact i drank a bottle of it every night that's where it goes no wonder you're growing your beard so well just kidding don't do it that, we are both at the same time, ah yes, ladies and gentlemen, let's get back to the fact that we have a

l5p in the channel now and I can finally say that, in fact, I am still dirty max jack.

There was a point where I was starting to get a little stressed because I wasn't going to have a duramax in the canal. channel and although I love all diesel engines, no matter the brand, no matter the badge on the front, it just wouldn't have been right, so we found this one and we took the opportunity, so this one here, ladies and gentlemen, is the Denali HD L5P 2018. Duramax and sounds fantastic. This truck here came out of Augustus South Carolina. A friend of mine was willing to sell it to me. As you see, the truck here is exactly how we picked it up from the owner.

, it has a five inch exhaust, these l5 ps sound round like a jet engine in flight every time you start it up and drive it, I'm super excited now that this already has a number of mods and it looks really great to Some of you who follow my friend JW Montoya, you may recognize this truck because he actually did a full review not long ago on his channel, of course you can see it here on the front. This thing is very well made, I love the color scheme, it is very much OEM and also the previous owner did some color schemes on this thing, he made the grill bezel which is one of my favorite mods to do in these trucks. built headlights and they actually have reverse LEDs which I'll turn on for you here in a moment and then removed the lower valence, which is fine in my book.

I understand why some people do that; you can achieve that look on these. l5p or lml denalis but I feel like something is missing when it's not there, navigating to the side suspension as for this thing it's a matter of guessing guys what do you think is the stock height or is it leveled backwards? decisions decisions actually it's reverse level it has two inch drop shackles from our good friends at mcgoy's in the rear it has stock ride height in the front so this thing drives like a cadillac we'll let jake compliment it some more late as he's the one who actually flew and drove this thing home.

I think his trip was about 12 hours or something and he came back psyched, which tells me it was a pretty solid trip. This thing is rolling on a 24 by 14 American concave. Force Wheels Super sick wheel design by the way, very very simple, I really like it. I've actually never owned this wheel, which to me is a little surprising at this point because I've owned so many sets of American Force Wheels and no. that set over there that I'm quite excited about and it has an elastic tire. I'm not sure who makes them, in fact, let's see here, they're atturos, they look like they need a little help, which we'll get to a future upload, let's put it that way, back to the discussion about paint matching, your fenders have been sanded smooth and the painted mirrors are painted, it has zigzag LED turn signals here on the mirrors, the cabin lights have also been painted, the antenna has been painted and the Sirius xm satellite radio receiver has been painted and this exhaust.

I would appreciate it, get out of there, leaf, my old lml collected so many leaves in this l5p hood drain, which by the way is the rudest hood. I have ever seen and in total these trucks here from 2015 to 2019, whether the gmc or chevy version like myog, they are my all time favorite body styles for the duramax. I love my 2020, it has a lot of sentimental value with that thing. but you will never beat this body style right here its just perfect in every way shape and form gm you guys knocked it out of the park with this one why did you have to ruin something so good?

The 2020s are great, you don't understand me. wrong, but you could have made improvements to this body style right here, the k2xx body style, and they would have been very well received in the aftermarket. I understand that you need to innovate and evolve and you have to be at the forefront compared to some. from your other competitors like the blue oval and fiat chrysler so I guess all I can say is thanks for leaving something so iconic behind this one here first on the full chart okay so let me show you the lights of this, they are pretty. great, grab the keys to close this, boom, look at all this zigzag action happening before our eyes, okay, let's do it again so we have orange in the headlights, orange in the mirrors, the really cool thing about this is the symphony what is happening.

Before our eyes we have two lights that are horizontally parallel in the headlight and then we have two lights that are also horizontal and parallel in the mirrors, a detail so small that I don't think anyone but me will notice it. but I really enjoyed it a lot, so if we go ahead and unlock this thing, we get a very nice crisp white orange LED, a white LED on in the cabin lights, there they were swapped, of course, we have our curves there in the mirror we have our headlight in the center our bright curved running lights here in the headlights it almost looks on my camera right now it's too bright to shine but you totally get the point it looks amazing In fact you can see in the camera right now that the frequency of that beacon is too much for my 24 frames per second right now, look at that, that's a little wild, guys, this thing is slippery, now let's jump in real quick and grab this little sucker. because this one here actually controls the rock lights that are on this truck, now I'm not sure what brand of the rock lights are, but this thing has four positions and two of them are the ones I need to push the bottom ones up. above. wheel lights now, these are kind of interesting.

I've never actually owned, reviewed or interacted with a truck with those things here, they're interesting that's all I'm going to say, it's an LED strip that actually attaches to the abs a bit. sensor, as you can see right there, it literally hangs mostly out and around, there's like a little mounting bracket here, you can see it's aluminum and then the light strip actually goes around it, so it's pretty firm . like I'm trying to shake it off right now, it's not really going anywhere, which I guess is a little more reassuring. I was never really sure how those things worked, but yeah, they're kind of interesting, so that's position number four, so I can pivot.

Turn them off and then position number one is the rock lights. I'm not sure how many are in this truck. It looks like there's a double capsule arm right there thatIt shines on both the right and the left, so you don't have to worry. about mounting them like we normally do, three per wheel, well it looks like there's probably one under, one under, one on that rear wheel in the back, one in the back, one in the front to give it a bit of atmosphere to this. It lights up quite well, turn all this off, here we go, let there be light, it lights up very well, it looks like a UFO that came here and took over the building.

Rock lights are just one of those things that can be established. Your build is so good at night I love them, I wasn't really interested in wraparound lights at the beginning of my career as an auto enthusiast, so to speak, but they have grown on me a lot. Do you enjoy the look of the Denali without the valance or not? If you like it better with the valance, I'm going to put an overlay image here on the screen so you can see a side by side photo of the exact same truck with and without the valance, which do you prefer? I'm leaning more towards this look which is just me personally no valence it looks a bit sketchy and inside my friends this is a classy combination we have the pearl red tri coat on the outside and then coco dune on the inside it looks like the popular decision for most people is a black interior, I guess because I mean black will never go out of style, it's super stylish, on the other hand I prefer coco dune or alternative color interiors like me.

I have it on my Platinum like I had it on my 2020 Denali like I've had it on a lot of other trucks that you guys have seen on the channel just because it's different and I like being different. I appreciate the fact that I go left when most people are going well in life, so the nice thing about these Denalis is that the L5 PS actually changes something on the inside and it's a minor detail. I wonder why they did it. They started this truck very quickly and closed the door. LML Denalis were famous for their The interior colors were red and then in 17 when the l5p was introduced in 19 they changed the color to blue.

I really have no idea why they did that, maybe it was like their supplier ran out of red LEDs. I doubt that's the case, but it was just a completely random change now this still has the fully customizable digital display, you can go into the settings options, you can alter your theme to have standard and multimedia technology, and this will reconfigure the center cluster, which I always thought was super cool. they got rid of that in the 2020s no idea why another big question about GM's logic but yeah they put blue LEDs on these things which brings back a lot of memories to my LML because they had that same blue tint only on '15 to '16 Chevys.

I have no idea why the world will never know so guys I legit haven't driven this truck yet and today we are going to break the ice together oh squeeze squeeze two beasts reds come together and meet for the first time in front of the camera, oh what. A monumental moment my friends, so guys, here's just a quick color comparison between the 2018 L5P Duramax and the Del Monaco. In my opinion, the delmonico color is the most elegant color one could get. Dodge really knocked it out of the park. I love this red. "I won't wait to show you what we're going to do with it, but just look at this side by side comparison, you can really see how much darker that red is compared to that red, completely different reds, but it's ironic that I have two very similar ones.

The red truck is built in the canal at exactly the same time, essentially the Denali version of Delmonico or the Dalmonica version of Denali Look at the way this red appears in the sunlight Oh my gosh, guys, this thing has a. amazing look It's definitely one of those, I'm going to break my neck walking next to some kind of truck just to take in all of its angles and views It's a completely different red than it is in the sunlight This is amazing. .It's been killing me to keep this thing. A secret for you guys, we've had it here in Limerich for about a week and a half and I wasn't specifically hiding it for any reason other than the fact that I had to wait for the perfect day, the weather just happened. has been kind.

It's been miserable in Pennsylvania lately, but I'm hoping it's around the corner because I'm ready to roll with the windows down. Who else agreed to the inaugural cruise on the 2018 L5P Denali? It feels good to be back in a Duramax to say the least, we have the sliding rear window in the rear cocoa making accents on the interior and a sunroof heated steering wheel heated seats oh my goodness how it feels now, the guys back away for safety, lower the seat, which is one of my favorite things to do on the duramax. you can go super super low on this stuff and I might as well set my memory right now.

Feels good to be back guys, the turbo spool is ridiculous on this thing, it almost sounds exactly like my 64 stealth. that turbo whistled so much compared to stock, but it's almost like this stock l5p turbo does exactly that with windows open for maximum effect of course sunroof guys this feels so good ah that's not what this puddle is going to feel like this guy sucks though we'll just have to drive on the left. lane for a minute I'm sorry, I hope you don't mind, oh no, the truck is getting really dirty right now, ah, the winner fights, my friends never stop doing it, oh my god, you hear that, okay, well, maybe that took a little effort.

I guess these atturos are just meant to be exhausted monsters because I wasn't being light on the throttle by any means, but maybe we'll grab them another time. I just don't want to heat up the transmission because if you guys weren't. Knowing that burnouts aren't really the best thing for transmissions, I try to go a little light on them, keeping it in manual mode, shifting into first and second gear casually as the rpm builds up to a comfortable point, just not I want to do it. Push my luck and the EGTS get very hot and as we know EGTS and diesels we don't like to mix too many hot temps all the time oh man good times good times good times we're actually going to leave this at limeridge today because my friend jay from dent repair here does paintless dent repair work.

Turns out there are some minor little things I want to fix. There's one right there. There's one right there. There's one on the door here. Unfortunately, he's a Master Wizard when it comes to fixing dents without damaging the paint, so we'll let this rest.
