How We Find Hot Shot Trucking Loads On Truckstop.comMay 29, 2021
welcome to chukka travel i'm derek today i'll show you guys how i look for
loadsof hot whoops ok the charging board we use is truck stop easy so we'll go ahead and go to the truck stop easy we got the higher end version because obviously
loadssupposedly show up faster on that one, whatever it is, you're supposed to get more tools if you get truck stuff. I recommend you learn as many tools as you can so we're going to go here to log in to the load board already has our password saved so we're going to click log in now that we're here we're going to click here and write the city you're starting in so our general area is Findlay Ohio and so you have to put at least one thing here so since we're hot
shotwe're going to put HS for hot
shotand then we're not going to put a destination just so we can leave more doors open just go ahead and fast-fast charge search now we're going to go here to right click on the toolbar we normally do our r adius Arlo is normally 150 miles now we're going to come back here and we're going to add FSD and that is for flat deck or step deck currently we don't have ramps so we're not going to use SDL but if you do have ramps I guess that's something for you to add too because it might add Here's one more thing we could just FA for air travel since our truck is there we don't really see anything for that pickup date we'll say today the current time is 10:26 am. m., usually the loads are hot between 8 and 10 a.m. m. and our experience but you know I'm sure throughout the day hot items show up from time to time the maximum weight we can handle on our trailer is 16 5 so we're going to go ahead and dial that in and now we're going to refresh close is also going to add crap in there we can't take all if you click on top you can arrange things in that order whatever you click like you want to go by distance click distance and that's the shortest if you want to go for the longest click again and this is how you do it you can do it with the state see all Pamela you can do it from the other end of the alphabet Wisconsin in the back but what I like to do is look the mileage rate so we have some good mileage rates there you'll see they're over two dollars we're going to go ahead and extend this to 200 so we don't turn pages so all of these are over a lot of him They're pretty high but a lot of them are pretty far out and they're for short miles that when you add in the dead center it's not really going to be 4 dollars and 35 cents because they're 136 miles out according to this so when you add the math it's it's really going to go down and then it's 300 bucks a day which is really worth it because it's going to take 136 miles plus 69 miles which is about 200 miles so you're looking at 200 miles for 300 bucks so at the end of the day it's really what you want to do with your time so this is a really decent looking one here and what i want what i would do is click on this and remember you are fighting the clock so everything you do has to be very fast.
I would scroll down and do it. the reasons i like having a factoring company is because we can take your MC number here and we can do a credit lookup to see if our factoring company likes them or not because if our factoring company doesn't like them , so they know I don't pay or I don't pay or whatever we're going to pretend they're good for a long time, it gives you information on the side here, it says they can't charge Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 3: 00 and it's a canvas load, so he basically got a call and got some info on this.
It is 20 feet long. the weight is fifty seven hundred so it's ready and it's for a flat top step platform so that's exactly nice and a lot what we are come here the user is or the contact is J there's a phone number personally what me like to do is like to search I like to do a google maps search on pickup and drop off and then I'll also add where we started from and then I'll put that first because that's where we'll start from so I'll look at the map and get the miles Estimated, which is 366 miles. put up the old calculator here so this load is and you also know it says $700 here but since they want to tark or whatever I would see if they would do 850 or 800 sometimes they'll say yes sometimes they'll say no but what What does it mean? it pains me to ask i mean we're in this to make money we might as well try that so we'll say it's for $700 because that's what they posted so 366 miles so 700 divided by 360 six equals so it's a dollar 91 a mile which I am very happy with I don't really know this area in general in New York I really don't go very often so I couldn't say if there will be if it is a good place to pick up a foreign expert and they really want pay attention to that but you are working against the clock so you will only have a limited time to decide what you are going to do this is also a toll road so you have to keep in mind that you will pay some of that not sure how much and then there's a total world up here too but I'm sure I could
finda different route to take to get around that so yeah there's a lot of things you have to be aware of when taking loads and whatnot but since the rates are the what e are, it's good to know your numbers on what your minimum per mile you need to do and what you can do that would probably take this, it can't take too long because then someone else will probably jump on it, but this one has been around for a while, So I feel like it's probably a wide load and that's why it hasn't been taken and then sometimes they have the links here so you can see how long it is all an d what you can do is like this one time 48 feet! wow!
I didn't mean to do that if you accidentally click on it and it's something you're not interested in because it's a 48 foot platform you can come here and click not interested and it'll take it off your other screen but what you can do is just come up here and hit the X and that removes it sometimes, which these runners will do like that load we were looking at. it's been up for several hours so what they normally do is delete it and then repost it to make it look like new and then someone like deleted it in the past just like we just deleted some it's will reappear on our screen despite that we just removed it because they're republishing it so it's like a new load being posted it's kind of annoying so another thing you can do instead of looking at the rate per mile having your top a below we can do that for the rates the total rates and we can just look down to
findsomething this is a 23 dollar a mile it's 27 feet long and weighs 14,000 pounds so that's a definite no because it's like the 90 % of what we can handle so we ain't going to Texas for a buck 23 a mile keep scrolling down it's 15,000 lbs look most of these dice will be for semis and that's what makes vine It's going to be harder but these here are probably all the same but it's awesome because it's Finley that's where we are you know I mean 0 miles but you know you have to go a couple obviously but a minimum of dead miles okay and this is 7 feet long and 6,400 pounds which leaves us like 10,000 pounds on the trailer and about 30 feet of bed space so what we do is click this take a look to this and it's gone that happens a lot sees you have to be quick on everything else you have to think about though we were just looking at that and it goes to North Dakota and my experience is hard to find things coming out of that general area, so I usually don't go there but you know it's different for everyone there are people who can make that work so I'm not going to say don't do it I'm just going to say you have to find something that works for you and make sure. you stay within your own guidelines that work for you because we've already been to florida and couldn't do anything as a nightmare we went to west texas and couldn't find anything out of there so i mean we usually stay out from certain states well guys i hope this was helpful to you usually what i'm doing this in the morning i have a cup of coffee i take a couple of sips and it's right here i'm so focused on the computer my coffee is barely drinkable and i have to reheat it a few times just because it gets cold because i'm trying to find that perfect charge but sometimes you have to make do with what's out there you can't wait for it all to fall into your lap but make sure it's not under hi, management is really tired of those calls, don't play games. take any load but don't settle for loads that are less than what you need to do per mile, it's very important that you know all your costs so you know what your operating cost is per mile and how you know where are you making money and when are you not and it seems like most people try to stay above a dollar fifty a mile and that includes dead miles everyone will be different everyone has different bills different amounts so some are very high some have paid trucks paid trailers and no debt so they got it don't you know they make a lot more than us if they get the same amount per mile so I mean everyone is different so everyone they have a different number. the higher your debt, the more difficult this game will be.
I wish you the best if you do this. It is a difficult game. I hope they can do it and succeed. I wish you all the best if you enjoyed the video. the like button n share with a friend and god bless you guys marrs nothing can break me no nothing can break me
