How to Make a Non Stop Heron's Fountain

this really cool thing here on the mountain. To do this, we will use three bottles and several drinking straws. We'll also need a glue gun, a pair of scissors, a drill, and maybe a knife. We'll start by taking two of the bottle caps and use the glue gun to stick them together like this. Next, we need to select a drill bit that is a little larger than the diameter of our straw and use it to drill two holes side by side. -side through the lid of our bottle, clean it out and it should look like this, we also need to drill two holes through the lid of our third bottle, then we need to use a larger drill bit to carefully

a straight hole through the center Of the bottle. base of one of the bottles, if you don't feel comfortable using a drill for this you can use a knife.

The hole should be large enough to cover the top of the bottle without obscuring the smaller holes and we will use this later. We need to connect two bottles using the double lid we made and we're going to need a drinking straw that goes from the bottom of the bottom bottle up and through the hole at the top of the top bottle, so I'm going to make it longer. a standard drinking straw by placing a slice on the end, sliding another straw in, and sealing them together with my glue gun. I cut the flexible tip on one end and it should now be long enough for the next step, remove the top bottle and bottle caps.

Pass the straw through one of the holes and place it back in the bottle. We need to arrange this straw so that it is right above the base of the bottle. I glued mine in place while holding it. Now we need to lengthen the straw again using the same technique we did before while it was drying, I took two yellow straws, cut the Flexi and joined them together; we need to push this down through the other hole in the bottle cap and secure it in place so that it stays about a couple of inches. down on the bottle once this is done we can take it out of the bottle and reinforce the straws with more glue on the other side.

Once it's all dry, we can screw it back onto the bottle and it should look like this. Next we need to measure the straw lengths against another bottle and we need to cut the yellow one a little so that it

s about an inch from the end of the bottle, then screw the other bottle over the straws, screw it on the lid and the red straw It should be right through the hole at the top, then I took two blue straws, cut the Flexi and put them together. I ran it through the remaining top of the bottle and slid it down into the hole like this.

We need to get this all in place here, so I applied. glue everything around the hole and glue the lid. We need the blue straws to rise about an inch from the bottom of the bottle, so I held them in place while I fixed the glue, then I also sealed and fixed the red straw which, as I can see, is way down and just peeking through. the top of the bottle to make sure you don't seal the hole with glue. Finally, we need to cut the top section of the third bottle to make a funnel, screw it towards the top and that's it. our

I decided to remove the labels from the bottles so you can see the inside better and there it is. Using different colored straws really helps us see exactly where they are placed for use. First we must prepare it. which we do by pouring water on top which runs down the red straw and fills the bottom bottle. Then we need to turn it over so that the water runs through the yellow straw into the middle bottle, when it is full, turn it over and lift it, now it is prepared and ready to use, pour water into the funnel at the top and should light the

fountain

pretty well, uh, this was starting to spill quite a bit of water over the edge, so I grabbed one of the blue ones.

The flexible pieces we cut earlier made a slit in it and slid it over the top of the fountain straw. This time when I used it it was much better, we had no water loss and you can see how it works, what is happening? here let's take a look once we have prepared the fountain so there is water in the middle bottle we pour more into the funnel at the top this pauses the red straw towards the bottle below and displaces the air in this bottle by pushing it up through the yellow straw in the middle bottle, the pressure increases and pushes the water in this bottle up through the blue straw, resulting in a fountain that continues to feed until the water level in the bottom bottle rises higher than the yellow straw or the water level in the middle bottle drops below the blue straw to reset it, we can turn everything over to refill the middle bottle, then remove the bottom bottle , pour the water back into our medicine and restart the fountain.
