May 30, 2021
Hello everyone, I'm Casey from sbk living, welcome to my room at my house. Come to my YouTube channel. Today I am very excited to share how I

make

a bed. They ask me all the time, so I'll show you the

steps

. step by step, creating all the volume, texture and comfort that you know I love, we're going to

make

an adult bed guys, so let's do it right, so the first step is always the sheets, of course, when I make a bed, I am obsessed with these

cozy

lands. bamboo sheets, I talk about them all the time on Instagram stories.

I have a 50 off code that I talk about in my last blog post about this master bedroom, if you want you can head over to sbk living and I'll put the link in the comments too, but we always start with a fitted sheet which is here right now and then we'll go to the flat sheet and just start and get into that, obviously. I'm pregnant so if I breathe a lot that's why I have the flat sheet and fitted sheet on. I'm not going to put anything in yet because we're going to put the quilt on next, that's the second step, which is also called quilt, blanket, let me go grab it, okay, so the quilt, whatever you want to call it, is now on the bed, so this just adds another level of texture.

I love volume in a bed, you'll see when we're done and we make it

cozy

, so this, like I said, adds another layer. Now we'll fold the sheets and the quilt together at the same time, okay, so I'll tuck it all the way into the corner and, if you want, like a big little fold like you're in a luxury hotel. I take this corner and I'm going to tuck it under and you'll see I continue here on the back to tuck it all in, but you get that nice little crease. in there that makes it seem a little higher.

Alright, next is a duvet cover. I already have the insert inside, so I'm going to lay it flat and then I'll show you how I fold it because, oddly enough. this is one of the questions I get a lot is how do I fold a comforter and it's not rocket science let me show you now that I have my comforter in place I don't like to re-make my bed like this I want to To create more volume I fold it three times so that it's at the end of my bed and it's a little fluffier, so I fold it in half like this and then I'm going to pull it from the end and I'm going to fold it. in half again and that's it, it's that simple, but it creates more volume at the end of the bed.

Then it's pillow time. If you know me, I use a lot of pillows, so we'll start with sleeping pillows first. I make four to a king size bed, so I make two standard king pillows and then two sleeping pillows, so here's my beautiful silk pillowcase that I sleep on and the tempur-pedic pillow every night, so the I put on the back, it's black, I'm going to hide it because clearly this is all neutral and white and then this is the king size long pillow which I'll put here as well another note, um, I guess the opening of the pillowcase I like put because I think this doesn't look Great, so I hide it and put it in and then you have a clean line on the outside.
Now it's all about the euro farce. These great beauties, so the euro farces, you are going to learn something, are 26 by 26 inch squares in kings. use three, you'll see here in a second, although the insert is 28 by 28, so this is one of my biggest style tips in general when it comes to pillows, if it's a square I always size up , so the pillowcase here is again a European pillowcase. a 26 by 26 but the insert is 28 by 28. Why do I do that? It creates more fluff and volume and really fills out the cover, so I'm going to use three here.
Why do I use euros? They are obviously square like me. I just talked about but they create height so we want height, volume, comfort these do the job and now the accent pillows again, volume, comfort you know that's what it's all about so I love adding texture but it's still neutral, so they are a little smaller. These are 24 by 24 squares, essentially the size you want to work down for the pillows, so I have two of these that I line up on both folds. I'll do the second one here so you can see everything is symmetrical and going from big to small one more beauty like I said she's a little bit smaller so this is a 22 by 22 square obviously I'm using all the squares here you can use lumbar could you use a longer lumbar here but this is what I like to give is a nice karate chopper again the biggest to the smallest pillows are done but we have one last piece okay a cozy blanket always tops off any bed and I literally just throw it away.
People always say: how do you put up the blankets? So pretty, this is how easy it is, okay guys, this is how I make a bed, I hope you enjoyed it.
