is completely empty and there are no clothes left, so the next step is to run a

clean

ing cycle on the machine, now my two favorite products to use are white vinegar or these washing machine cleaners . You can get a full year's supply on Amazon, super easy to use and relatively cheap, which is why I like to get started. With a clean cycle first I find this removes all the dirt and easy debris that gets stuck in the machine and then I definitely stay because we'll go over and make sure everything is detailed and perfectly clean if you're going to use the vinegar I add two cups to the detergent tray here pour it in, you can even pour it in the bleach section along with the fabric softener, so in this machine I'm going to use the tablet, we'll use it in normal mode. settings, make sure the water is hot and then a heavy

load

or a large load, we want this whole machine to fill with water and then just press start for the cleaning cycle to finish.

Now is the time to thoroughly clean the gasket and things now. I knew this was going to happen, I got a lot out of it, but you'll still have some areas that you'll need to touch up now. For this, I like to use a microfiber towel, a handy fancy toothbrush. to get into all the cracks and crevices and as a cleaner I use my homemade mixture which is 1 cup of vinegar, 1 cup of water and about a teaspoon of Dawn dish soap so what I'm going to do here is I'm just going to to spray all of this trying to get to the whole area there and then just take the toothbrush and just gently pull back and start scrubbing as you can see it's working right away here now I'll say depending on the buildup and what As dirty as the machine is this part, it can take a little time, there are so many nooks and crannies in the seal here and this machine definitely needs a little more detail, so I keep spraying the vinegar on, let it sit for a little bit, then I scrub and then I just go over with some microfiber towels, rinse and wipe, repeating that process until you feel like it's nice and clean, something I suggest doing about once a month if you have a

front

loading washer, if you come here you'll notice that there is a small trapdoor. now everything is a little different, but in most cases you have this little drain hose here, let's take it out and see if I can reach it.

I go to take it out and there's a little drain plug. I just like to put a towel on it. and then grab a small plate that can fit this on now be prepared sometimes this can be a little unpleasant oh there wasn't much there oh there it's okay so once it's clear then if you get too close I'll notice there's a little filter here and what I like to do is just turn it counterclockwise and water will come out. Water will also spill. I said it was a little dirty, that's why I put some towels, it's obviously clogged. from somewhere it looks like ok I'm making a mess but here we go it was pretty clogged but this is the filter.

Now I'm going to clean the filter here, but while I'm doing that, I'm also going to flush. Take out the detergent drawer here, you will notice on most of these units there is a small area to push down, this pops out, this is also very dirty. I still make a mess today, it's okay, we have plenty of cleaning towels to clean everything. but I'm going to take this, take the filter and go get them nice and clean, so when it comes to cleaning the filter, the first thing I'm going to do is give everything a good rinse and try to remove as much of the air and buildup. and mud as possible, it seems I even found a dime or something now to clean up.

I just use the same homemade vinegar mixture, spray everything here well and then take my little toothbrush and scrub everything quickly now when it comes to the detergent tray I like to take everything apart if possible, there are a lot of nooks and crannies in these, you will notice it. I think this one right here, yeah, there's a lot of untouched, uncleaned area, same with this guy, so we'll just take this take our same DIY cleaner, spray everything with vinegar, it'll do a great job of breaking this down along with dawn, just to degrease some of these areas, we're also going to spray everything really good and then we're going to go out with a handy dandy, I scrub daddy and give everything a good wash, so to put the filter back in, just put it in here and then just turn it clockwise until it's nice and tight, it feels good at that point, just a caution and reminder here. the drain plug just make sure it's firmly in place so it doesn't leak, push it back, put it in place and then just grab the little door here and you're good to go before you do

good cleaning.

Put the detergent tray back in, you're also going to want to clean the actual duct right here, so for this I'm just going to use the homemade mixture again, spray this really well in there, grab my handy dandy toothbrush and give it a good scrubbing all over, so now the tray and the inside are nice and clean just put this back in place push this down again there you go so now that I'm done with the vinegar mixture here you can see it's really clean now there's a little discoloration. down here you might still have some stains that just won't clean up now, that's why I always suggest this product here called sugy.

I think I'm saying that, maybe not, this is a mold and mildew stain cleaner what we're What I'm going to do is just apply a little bit of this on the bottom here, it's actually like a gel, I'm just going Let's push this down here, now the key with this is that it takes a good amount of time to work, so I'm going to work this with my gloves here, spread it over the affected area, let it sit for a minimum of 3 to 5 hours, then I rinse it well, clean it and dry it to see how it looks sometimes.

You may need to apply it a second time if that is the case, just repeat the process and then it should be done.
