How to Build a DIY Toddler Bed Playhouse for Triplets: Transition to Toddler Bed

ing the first thing I had to do was clean their room and remove their old beds that way, I wasn't going to trip over anything, the next thing I did was make a level line along the wall, approximately at the height where we were going to have the beds, after that I placed the mattresses more or less. in the way we wanted them so we could get an idea of ​​the length and then once everything was done we had to make our first trip to Home Depot to buy lumber, after we got the lumber we started measuring the beds and continued forward. and I drilled and screwed everything to the wall studs.

I used pocket holes whenever possible while distinguishing the beds. We put teethers between each bed that would keep the mattresses in place. Here's kind of a view of what the structure is like. ing the loft area, always making sure everything was level, the shape of the top tapered like this and we really liked the idea, we went ahead and used 1/2 inch thick material to cut everything . size and then we started making the joists to hold the floor on top again, we used a lot of pocket holes using our Kreg jig since we only used 1/2 inch thick material.

I went ahead and put a support beam in many areas probably a little more than necessary, I went ahead and gave the bottom a good sand and then started laying the carpet on top, cut everything to size and then applied a little bit of adhesive just to keep the mat from moving, after everything was ready we started. To build the structure that would secure the top area so the girls wouldn't fall off the long beam that runs across the top I used a Mali screw to hold everything in place, we debated for a long time about how we wanted to go ahead and secure it. and close the top and I am so happy with the mechanism that we decided to go to Home Depot.

It had a really cool thin mesh metal liner that we were able to secure to our upper loft, these went in nice and easy, the other one. The option was to have made a railing system on top, but since I only had a weekend to build it, I thought the mesh would be much quicker and easier. One of the last steps was to go ahead and trim everything down. We wanted to give the molding along the entire side of the loft a stepped look and then put the bed dividers into place.
