How this Tiny Motor is More POWERFUL than Your Car

Jun 05, 2024
Koenigsegg is used to making ridiculous hypercars with crazy top speed numbers and a minimum of four figures of horsepower, yet now they've created an electric

motor

that generates 330 horsepower that's somehow smaller than my head, that's crazy, now two of these

one inverter will work. It generates 660 horsepower and weighs less than 85 kilos. This little power pack is the work of Swedish hypercars Kernigsik, so how does it actually work? Let's get into it. The engine has been nicknamed quark which is actually a type of soft cheese spread and probably the noise of the fancy duck companion unfortunately that is not how it got its name it is much

complicated and scientific than that and there is no easy way to tell you the actual definition of the term quark the quark is any of several elementary particles that is It is postulated that they come in pairs as up and down varieties and have a positive charge of two plus two thirds and the other has a negative one third charge and is held together to form hadrons, essentially they are the bits that make up protons and neutrons, remember that from physics we see how the engine really works.

The mystery is that magnetism is an important part of how electric motors work and the kernel executive has cleverly combined two methods to create the quark engine and uses something called raxiom flux. which sounds made up because Kernington got the name from a combination of radial and axial flow, which are two different ways electric motors typically work. The two terms refer to the direction in which the permanent magnets of the motor create the field, so in a motor they have coils that rotate between magnets and it depends on which direction they go, the axial does so along the axis which is

perpendicular and the radial runs off the difference between these two is that radial flow tends to be denser in power and axial flow tends to be denser in torque, so the combination of the two creates what Koenigsegg calls a class-leading matrix of torque, power, rpm and weight.

how this tiny motor is more powerful than your car...

Do you keep the rhythm while doing that? They've managed to keep the weight down to a surprising 30 kilos and for reference, that's it. 15 kilograms lighter than the motors that Tesla uses in its everyday models and approximately the same weight as the next one a giant otter a double radiator a 10-year-old child a bear cub a garden bench a pair of speakers or an adult Dalmatian that doesn't bother you give

efforts I don't know what the quark will achieve the incredible figure by making the axle with a light steel alloy and even using air core technology in its rotor, the same thing they use in the carbon fiber wheels, steering wheels and the seats. etc and Koenigsegg are no beginners when it comes to going light.

Jessica's 21-by-12-inch rear wheels weigh just 18 pounds each, less than

two arms, so mine certainly love carbon fiber and aren't afraid to use it. absolutely anywhere they can, their dimensions are incredibly small and Koenigsegg used an energy drink as a comparison. I think we can do a little better. It's about the same overall size as a watermelon and about the same width as a Passat brake disc and the same height. When a foot-long meter was standing, the power output of the 130-kilogram motor is 330 brake horsepower with 443 newton meters of torque, which sounds incredibly impressive, but how does it compare to the foot-long motor? most

powerful

that Tesla makes?

They are the real reference point here. There isn't much information about the dimensions and weight of Tesla's motors, but Elon Musk recently claimed that the ones in the crazy model plaid are small and light enough to be picked up by a person even without knowing the sizes. It sounds like it might be similar to quark, unless Elon Musk cast his only person as a bodybuilder or something. The plan uses one motor in the front and two in the rear to generate a total power of 1006 brake horsepower and just over a thousand pound-feet of torque - numbers very similar to what the quark is capable of.
With the same number of motors, although with less torque, it would be very interesting to compare these two with each other. I know we shouldn't compare a combustion engine with an electric motor. because physics and stuff, but it gives you some perspective. BMW's turbo inline-six, the B58, makes about the same stopping power with just 370 pound-feet of torque, but weighs almost 300 pounds, so where will the quark be used and how does it differ from the all-out approach? Tesla electric? is that it has been designed to boost an internal combustion engine, the engine in question is Koenigsegg's friendly little giant Gamera which uses their incredible camless free valve technology.
You may have noticed the crazy names, crazy horsepower, and wild doors that Christian von Koenigsegg likes to make. Things are a little different than others, we may be used to Koenigsegg's big supercharged and turbocharged V8s, but the TFG is a relatively small, two-liter, twin-turbo, three-cylinder, Kernight, two-liter, three-cylinder, surely not, as you may have guessed, kernigsig would never do it. Leave it there and the combustion engine combines with an electric motor on the crankshaft to send 600 brake horsepower to the front wheels. Rear-wheel drive is then served by a single electric motor on each of the rear wheels.
The gamera will have four seats and eight. cup holders and a combined power of 1700 horsepower with the use of electric motors the numbers are simply mind-blowing the idea is that the quark engines will work in combination with the combustion engine as a small Swedish team that will handle the engine and the low grunt to instant acceleration and then harnessing the combustion engine's torque to provide maximum punch Koenigsegg claims that all

this

means that the Camaro will effortlessly reach a top speed of 248 miles per hour, the best thing is that it doesn't. I don't think anyone will doubt them.
Compared to some of their other cars, 248 miles per hour is basically walking pace. At the same time they announced the quark, they also announced the terrier. It's Koenigsegg's name for the new electric propulsion unit that houses two quark motors and a single david inverter yes, they made their own inverter and yes, they called it david, intended to be like a david and goliath reference. I believe that it is not only compact but can also run two motors at a time, where a normal inverter can only handle one despite the dimensions of the terrier and the total weight of 85 kilos it is still capable of generating 660 horsepower from braking.
It's also a torque vectoring unit, meaning it can electronically vary the torque and send it to each wheel, meaning no wheel stripping and it handles much better too. It helps the car to turn and decelerate the wheels individually It is very intelligent The Terra gets its name because of its energetic and brave little behavior just like the dog Apparently there is not a lot of information about it, but Koenigsegg says that it can be bolted directly to a chassis or moniker that opens up possibilities for different designs in the future, which could mean removing additional subframes.
This is undoubtedly smart technology and we are eager to hear more from Koenigsegg. They have even said that quark could be used outside the automotive sector, in both marine and aeronautical applications, where an energy-sapping transmission is not required. The 1700 brake horsepower chamber may have four seats, but it won't exactly be cheap and only 300 will be made, so I wonder how long it will last. It will be before this compact electric motor technology makes its way into more mass-produced electric cars every day. Koenigsegg has said that they are offering this technology to visionary companies and entrepreneurs, so who knows what that means, only time will tell where a technology like this will go, thanks.
