betta

s or

betta

s, however you want to say it, it makes a lot of sense because this is one of the most popular

fish

in the entire hobby, but we have never made a video like this, let's play a little game. Regarding whether bettas are

true

or

false

, you hear a lot of people say that betas can adapt to anything and don't need a heater. Wow, this is fun. Bettas are tropical

fish

that originate from Asia in climates that are super warm almost all year round. Yes, they are hardy and will adapt to many different parameters, but they want to be warm, if you provide warmer water for your betta, between 78 and 80 degrees, they will be warm and cozy, if they feel comfortable like this, you will be able to see their

true

personality and watching them bounce around the tank constantly if the water is too cold your betta will just be lethargic and lay around in the tank and that's no fun, you don't want to watch your betta do that all day and it's cruel.

Bettas can go to the surface of your aquarium water and get a breath of fresh air. This is true. Bettas are anabantoid, meaning they have what is called a labyrinthine organ that is basically like a lung. That's why it will be perfectly fine for them. In tanks that don't have a filter, the stagnant water has less oxygen, which for most fish is a total nightmare, but not so

much

for bettas, but we still want to do the right thing and get the water moving with a small sponge filter. or a low flow power filter, yes they can rise to the surface and breathe air, but an aquarium with a little water movement will be

much

healthier overall for any fish in this hobby, so do yourself a favor yourself and your fish. a favor, get a small power filter or a small sponge filter or something or even just an air stone to get the water moving.

More Interesting Facts About,

It will just make everyone's life easier. You'd think it's common knowledge, but you'd be surprised. How many people still think that you can put multiple betas in a community tank? This is

false

, but it is also true. Most of the world doesn't call these bettas, they call them Siamese

fighting

fish and for good reason, as much as I love them. I have to be honest these are bad little fish, if you put multiple males in a tank they will instantly fight until one of them dies it happens every time so don't even try it but Lisa you said this is false but also true , well here's where things get a little complicated if you know me you know I'm obsessed with female betas.

I personally have about 50 of them. Female betas can be grouped together in a tank and are much less likely to fight with each other. males do it, but I want to warn you that this is not something that just works automatically and always works if you want to try to get a group of females together and create a beta guild, I suggest you do a ton of research first, beta guilds can be made, but it comes with Tons of challenges, do your research, have a backup plan and if you are able to successfully beta guild, you will have one of the most amazing tanks you have ever seen, but don't do it with the males, right?

If you are looking for a great place to buy your next betta, click the link in the comment below and you found it. We also sell everything you might need for your aquarium so you really need a light in your beta tank anyway because it can mimic the sunrise and sunset and make it look more like nature fake this applies to all fish, not just bettas the light is for you, not for the fish we want to be able to see what happens in the tank and watch the fish interact with their environment and we also want to admire our elegant aquascape that we work so hard on, This makes a lot of sense, but again, this is for you, not the fish, there are really only two exceptions to this rule, one is if your fish tank is in a room with absolutely no ambient light like you have in a closet or in a corner room in your basement with no windows and the second is that if you have live plants you will need a light not only for the plants to look good but it is also a critical need for survival and if your room does not have windows or light in the room, if that is the case, why would you choose that room to put your fish tanks?
Your fish will be constantly in the dark and no one wants to live like that, but if you have your aquariums in a room with windows that you enter frequently and turn on the lights in the room, your fish will not die. I promise I will be completely honest with you unless we are filming a video or doing a live stream on this channel every day. Thursday night at 8pm we rarely turn on the lights, I mean there's no reason the fish should be perfectly fine and we can see them in the ambient light of the room, it's really no big deal unless we're talking about Lisa. planted tanks, so we have the lights on almost all the time at least eight ten hours a day.
If you are subscribed to this channel then my answer to this question will surprise you if you are not subscribed well that is an easy solution all you have to do is press the red button below it is free. Bettas should be in an aquarium that is 5 gallons or larger. Wait for it. You heard me correctly and it is true. Bettas can be kept in tanks smaller than five gallons. I just don't do it. I like it and I think it's cruel. I firmly believe that Beta should be treated like any other fish and given as large a tank as the breeder can afford.
I also understand that many fish keepers can't. pay five gallons and are just starting out maybe two and a half gallons is all they can do right. a beta can certainly survive in a tank that size, just make me a promise that you will get them a bigger tank. as soon as you can, let me hear you say that good bettas breed in mud puddles in rice fields. People hear that bettas are found in the wild and in rice paddies and for some reason they interpret this as being in small puddles and this couldn't be further from the truth.
Rice fields are giant bodies of water in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam where you can find betta fish, but the thing is, these aren't little puddles, they're literally acres and acres of water now, I guess. There could be some situations where there is a drought and the water recedes and some beds and other fish are left in the puddles, but this does not mean that this is how they are born, grow and thrive. Sorry, it's not like that, literally People told me yes, I have my fish in a little vase on my bookshelf, but that's okay because they probably got it out of some little mud puddle somewhere in Asia, so right now it's living in luxury.
Male bettas are the most attractive betas. and the females are not that attractive, how dare you? This is definitely yes, I admit I'm a little biased, but look at them, can you blame me? These girls are beautiful and are just as active and playful as the males, depending on the type of betta you select, the males and females sometimes look very similar, in fact you could argue that a female koi galaxy plate is even more beautiful than the males. Yes it's true they don't have huge fluffy fins like the males do but these are amazing little fish they are super beautiful and have an amazing personality so you know if you don't like them then you can go fly a kite and you thought I was going to say something else. but you know, I'm not a kid like John, even if they are in separate tanks, if male bettas can see each other it will stress them out, this is true, so this is what we all know male and some female bettas are. . always looking for a fight, well this doesn't just apply to them being in the same tank, it also applies to them being able to see each other.
That's why if you ever see a better breeder set up, they will always hold cards for each other. In tanks, this causes the fish to be unable to see each other. We are not breeders but we even do this in the tanks we have the best ones for sale because the fact that they can see each other is a problem. Since they don't know that they can't get close to each other, they see the other fish and instinctively want to fight, they get angry and try to intimidate the other fish. They will do this literally all day non-stop if they can't see each other, they are fine the moment you remove the card, they start attacking and don't stop to understand why this is a problem.
I have to use an analogy, imagine if you were stuck on a treadmill. at level 10 and you could never get down, yes I know what you're thinking, that's what you need John, how dare you? Eventually you will wear out and collapse or have a heart attack, well that's the same for your betta. They'll basically work themselves to death, but wait John, you said that's true, well that's because giving your betta a little exercise every once in a while is a good thing, and so is I, getting on the treadmill once in a while. from time to time it is a good thing.
I'm still mad at you because if you have two bettas next to each other, it's nice to take that card out for 15 minutes a day just to get their blood flowing and they get some exercise, but don't overdo it, so there you have it.
