Apr 25, 2024
So in today's video I'm

going

to go to the Australian Reptile Park and we've actually booked a behind the scenes tour of the

reptile

s and the funnel web spiders as well as some other things for you to see, we're. We're heading down the road now and it's raining quite a bit so I'm hoping the rain lets up once we get there but I'll give you an update once we get there and there's the famous F-necked lizard so we just arrive. the

reptile

park

and it's not raining now but it's been on and off the whole trip so I wouldn't be surprised if it started raining in the next 30 seconds but yeah we just got there and I'll film another clip when we get there. go to the spiders and see how they are okay so we are entering the spider room as you can see they have a lot of decorations so let's see what spiders they have so right here oh they have a wolf spider so one is quite big, what's in this enclosure I can't really see, I'm not sure what it is but we could come back and look at it later, next to it we have a mouse spider and I just had a look at this one so in that There is a whitetail in the enclosure, but there should be a mouse spider here, but I can't really see it.

Next to it is a hunting spider. Ah, there it is, so it appears to be a mature male. A gray Hunter, so you can see it. I have all these little models to show their habitats, which is pretty interesting, let's see what's around the corner, okay, over here we have the first funnel web spider, let's see where it's okay, I can see some webs, oh , I think the SP, yes, the spiders on the back, can you see it? That's pretty interesting and next to it we have some redbacks that, where are they? You can't see any at this time.

More Interesting Facts About,

going to the australian reptile park...

Is there any below? I can't see any, which is unfortunate. but you know what redback spiders look like and I think there would be a couple in there, there's actually an egg sac, but let's look at funnel webs and exotic tarantulas, so here we have a clue robustus, a web spider in sydney funnel and you. I can see it's in this little container. I think that's actually where I keep some of my many and there's another one in there and you can see they have like a little camera. Oh my gosh, look how many there are, um anyway. um I think we'll get to witness the milking of one of these later on in the tour, but the most exciting ones are the tarantulas, so it's actually an Asian forest scorpion that I can't seem to find, but we've got a bunch of them here. tarantula malts so I can see some Mexican red KNE malts over here and what looks like a rose ha um and here we actually have a brai p horei so this is very exciting because we're not actually allowed to conserve these species. in Australia and they're really only allowed in our facilities and we like zoos like this so that's very exciting.

Next to it we have a Mexican fin-footed PMA brai, although it looks like a Palmer Amelia brachi. That's also very interesting. um the exhibits are pretty good they have a water dish oh this is actually what he does it looks like he's trying to kick hairs or something that's pretty interesting and here we have another Brey Palma horei that's right on the top of the enclosure, so that's very interesting, okay, before we queue to start the tour and we have enough time to look at the reptiles, so what do we have here? Oh we have a Li it monitor and the species name is the Mer water monitor or varanas moty um my friend John wesler um go watch his channel again another greeting he actually has veranus aen furus or the Aki monitor um and the other sign said there are some short necked turtles here so we'll see if we can find them.

I don't think so, I think they're just hiding right now so move on to the next animal, here's a parenti and I couldn't seem to find it until I looked behind this rock and it's just sleeping there. that's really cool and on this side we have a full neck lizard and a tile back lizard okay so there's the full neck so it's a little bit like a dragon and there's another one right here we'll see if we can find some roof tile. However, come back, um, where are they? They can't seem to find any. Oh, there's a cricket down there.
Well, the lizard eats it. Maybe later we will have a green uana, although they don't look very green, but they are huge. I've actually never seen an aana this size before, just look at how long the tail is, that's cool and here's a Fiji has a Grana crest that's over here hanging upside down over the lights um I'm not sure if this one enclosure is big enough it doesn't seem like it um we have a Solomon Islands skink next door let's see if we can find it oh Actually, it's on the branch that is big for a skink, a reptile.
The Guardians will probably go crazy on me because some of these can be extremely rare, but we'll move to here where there is a brown tree snake, this enclosure is definitely not seen. Big enough, but there's the snake. The spotted python is down there, now we have a corn snake. Well, I've heard of these before, so there's Simson's python, which is right there. The ball python. I've heard of these, it's under the cork. Bar and there we have a jungle tramp that is up on that log, okay, what do we have here? Here we have a Pyon to approximate scale.
Oh, actually there are two, so one is up there and the other one is Cur up there. So that's pretty cool, you can hear some of the sound effects in the background, but we're

going

to move over to this side, so here, oh my gosh, we've got a huge reticulated python right there where the head can't see it, but it's enormous. snake um we have a king cobra here omg KRA where is the king cobra? Oh it's there, not much to see of that one, although the black spotted snake is there, common death, my goodness, I've heard of this one, look at the head, it's quite interesting. we have a tiger snake, those are really poisonous, a dwarf king brown snake, I have never heard of that one, but there it is, an eastern brown snake, this is one of the most venomous snakes in Australia, it is very common there for people be bitten by these.
In Move we have the coastal taian that is circling the compound and here we have the most venomous snake in the world, the inland Typan, so it doesn't look as colorful, but apparently one drop of this poison can kill something like 100 mice, which is a lot, so be careful with them. I'm not sure which is which, but I think this is the eyelash viper. Oh, it's right at the top, so it's pretty small. Here we have a Diamond Back Western Battle Snake that is also pretty. small and up there there's just a King Brown snake and something else I don't know uh here's a green anaconda that I can't seem to find oh it's over there okay so it's pretty small for an anaconda but it'll probably get huge um Is there anything else you have?
Oh, okay, so the Central Neta dragons are here. There are two of them or more. Oh, that one is sucking a burrow. A New Caledonian giant gecko. Where is that?. the size of that boy's Forest Dragon uh, where is this one? oh uh I can't seem to find it oh there it's camouflaged hidden in that tree uh this one is upside down but I think it's a two two line Dragon if I read it correctly oh it's here it doesn't seem to have two lines, but by the way, moving on to the next, I'm sorry if this is repetitive, I just go to the next enclosure and say what is it, show it, but this is a southern line.
Spiny-tailed pygmy skink is a long name and there it is I was almost going to say I couldn't find it and here we have three desert night skinks so one looks like it's molting which is cool, anything else is fine so we've discovered some animals But here we have the alligator turtle which is huge. What do we have here? I think this is a chuara, so let's see if we can find it. It's below? No. Oh, it could be here. No? I can't seem to find it anyway, let's move on to the crocodiles, so there it is, that's great.
Anything here, freshwater crocodile, how big it is, I really can't see it. I don't know where it's probably hiding underneath. those bushes and I can't see them but there's a Gila monster here so it's hiding underneath which is pretty interesting look how big the head of this snapping turtle is oh my gosh that thing is huge so just take a look at a few. Of the other animals here we have a collection of water dragons, what is this one doing? It's like it's sinking here's another one and the third one over there uh oh, what's that over there?
It looks like some kind of lizard, I think it's a blue tongue, not quite. Sure, while I'm not really a reptile expert, none of the labels say what it is, but not anything else, I can't really see it right now, let's see what's here. Okay, so what's supposed to be here? Okay, there's supposed to be a red-bellied black snake. I really can't see much. Most of the animals will be hidden due to the rain that fell today. He says there are some turtles here, but they are not visible at the moment. this will be the main theme of the video, everything will be hidden so there's supposed to be a blue spotted tongue, oh it's actually here so it's pretty interesting and there's a water dragon right next to it, my friend Leis, In fact. he has a blue tongue, um, but not a spot, just a normal one.
Eastern bluetongue, I don't know what it is, but something interesting and whatever else, oh, there's two more, so I think they're the same things that were in the other enclosure, but I'm not really sure what they are right. There we have the crocodiles that I filmed before. They're actually not as out there as they were when they were fed, but you can still see a couple. There are a lot of them there, but can you see that there is a jumping spider on that tree over there? It's pretty interesting, but I don't think there will be any Huntsman, but in about 20 minutes the tour will start, so I'll see.
So this is a tiger snake, of course, they get their name from those weak beans that you can see running down their body. This one here is a very dark color. The reason is from a place in Tasmania, of course, it is very cold. There are cold blooded or ectothermic reptiles that use to absorb heat, so Lally, all I do, the snake releases the hook, gently place it on the pillow, not much pressure, just enough to hold it there behind the head , grab the rest and then encourage him to do B, here we go and the B who sees a couple of slightly yellowish blobs which of course is his Venom, now that's not all he has, um, he has like three times that in their head right now, they only give you what they want um, they will never leave each other dry and even that there is certainly enough to shake us all very toxic, so I'm going to hit him before he gets too angry, give him that one for so you can see it closer. n w, so now we're leaving Web Tole Park, so we had a great time.
I got to look at most of the animals I was interested in, so thanks for looking and I'll see you in the next one.
