May 31, 2021
Hello Vogue Beauty Secrets, I'm gg. I'm so excited to finally be here to share my

secrets

. I don't know if there are so many

secrets

, but something a little more than my everyday appearance. Well let's get started. I already washed. on my face while I was pregnant I really switched towards really clean and natural products so I used a brand called ole veda it's just olive extract and they have everything from cleansing oils to moisturizing oils so I really enjoyed using it but that too It was like that over the summer and now I've moved on to my winter routine, which really for me is about a thicker moisturizer because my

skin

gets very dry, I mean my

skin

is always dry.

This is the moisturizer I just started using. I really love it. it's an otocyte this is very very dry skin this is a new bottle because I go through this quickly and I really like exfoliating in high school I feel like maybe I did it too much I would use like this st ives apricot scrub which I loved , I used it until recently, in fact, whenever I work a lot, wear a lot of makeup or come from a shoe, I use cetaphil because I feel like it really cleanses my skin. I have always opted for drugstore skin

care

No, I don't think I mean unless I'm pregnant. I feel like it's different and I really wanted something clean for it, but before that I just wanted a good product and not always. I think you have to pay a lot for that, so during fashion week I think that's when my skin gets the most irritated because I wear more makeup during fashion week, it's literally every day, all day, multiple makeups on several hands, take the same makeup. I brush all the way on 30 girls so it touches a lot of faces and I feel like that's when I start to get irritated and I get spots around my chin, around my nose, obviously I get stressed too and I don't get enough sleep, I probably do.

I do extractions myself, I've never had a facialist, I don't know, I prefer to do it myself and learn how to do it

care

fully, and then I do a weird thing that my mom taught me is put on toothpaste. in spots at night and dries out. I might get in trouble for saying that, but that's what I do. Another thing I like to do with my moisturizing and skin care before I start putting on makeup is to moisturize my lips when you moisturize them. At first, it can stay on your lips throughout your routine, so that when you get to the lipstick at the end, it settles for a moment.

This is called ointment 101, but it's like for everything, I think all-purpose ointments are great. I can put it on your lips and then I apply it where my skin feels dry, sometimes like on the tip of my nose, and I also find that right where my eyebrows are, where they start, it gets very dry, I don't know why, but I like. Sometimes I apply it there because I think eyebrow products, like pencil and stuff, work better, so sometimes I do that during

pregnancy

. I think what changed the most about my skin was the pigmentation I had, like this darkness near my eye.
Before

pregnancy

, but it became very dark when I was pregnant. I tried wearing sun hats and sunscreen. I also let it happen because I think it's natural. I knew I was going to disappear after giving birth and I think I would just like not to be. hard on yourself and you know it's part of the process and it's lightened up now it's not bad so I turned to the makeup, the foundation, I really like a foundation that doesn't look dry so I like a little bit of shine. but obviously I don't want to look greasy, so I'm going to show you a mixture that I came up with.
First I start with this gorgeous gloss from Charlotte Tilbury, I just use a couple of drops and it's pretty much the same technique. What I use for my moisturizer is their impeccable filter. I love this one in high school. She wasn't really a great makeup artist. I think I became more of a makeup artist when I had to be in public places or like that, I guess. The more I was photographed, the more I learned what looked good on me and also through the makeup artists I learned what was good on my face. Okay, now I'm going to take the Maybelline poreless matte foundation and just put it on my finger.
That's right, you need more thin formulas that illuminate and give a little coverage in the places where I want it. The way I'm going to do it is to apply the foundation with my hands because then you can really blend it. to the moisturizer and your skin is still there, I also always take it and mix it with the hairline when I remember my first red carpets when I didn't have makeup artists or I didn't like to call someone, obviously I would like to do my makeup myself. and now it's like people take out those photos and say, "Oh, Gigi's nose looks different in these photos than it does now or like they're talking about something with my face or like this has changed on Gigi and it's really like "That was the power of makeup." Like I've never done anything to my face, but the way I learned is I'm going to show you to like contour in certain places, put bronzer in some places and leave it in other places, something you have to learn, so just I would put it everywhere and then it looks like it only has one shape.
I'm going to show my high school self what I should have done, so now I'm going to use concealer. I like to let the concealer sit for a while. because I think the formula gets thicker, I'll move on to the eyebrows. I think if Bella and I ever do makeup together, I don't know if we really pay attention to each other in terms of what we do, I just think makeup is very personal. I just think it's different for every face, so I usually take a pencil like this and fill it with taps to keep it from thinning and prevent breakage.
Someone once told me that I don't remember who maybe my mother was. Just like on set, never let anyone pluck your eyebrows. I think it was very good advice because I have never had a mishap like an over-plucked eyebrow. I've had mishaps, like during fashion week, where my eyebrows had to be bleached for a show and they died. I go back to my natural eyebrow for the next show if you do it too fast your eyebrows don't take the color then I go to the next show with eyebrows like oranges it's like a laugh but this is the precise Maybelline eyebrow it's called a micro pencil because it's very thin and I like it because it creates more of a hair effect.
I think my favorite makeup event of the year for me is the MET gala and to really be able to take a look that I'm going to wear and create the rest based on that, I think it's a lot of fun and I can really be in the creative seat and I love that you can make it a really memorable makeup moment and hopefully people have as much fun looking at it as we do. It's fun to create eyebrow wax and what you do is you take spray and you spray here and then you take the brush and you do it back and forth.
I love this because it just sticks the brows right where you want them and it dries really well. so that's my brow done, I like it fluffy, I like it pretty natural and it looks fierce, this is the Maybelline fit me powder and I'm just going to take a Fenty brush and just apply it, didn't I blend it? Okay that's blending now I like a little bit of shimmer on my chin and I like a little bit like on this part so I don't want to take too much off now we're going to move on to the bronzer or the contour I'm going to start here and then I'm going to take the same powder, this is a makeup artist trick with a smaller round brush, this is my favorite, take a little bit and put it right at the bottom and connect it like a little arrow, okay, now we're going to move on to the eye shadow.
The New York Nudes palette is more like an orange tan. I go right under my brow bone here, then I go from the brow down and then across. I have a very high brow bone so I think it adds a nice dimension and pushes that up. Part my eyelid back to make my eyes stand out more. I really think of makeup as taking a moment with myself and I like to be creative and that doesn't always mean you have somewhere to go or someone to see or someone to do. So I'll take the same colors and connect them from there under my eye, but I think also for me it's about, yeah, focusing on myself for half an hour.
This is a compact I've had since I was tall. school, I think it's sorry my mom's mom anyway, I like that it just has bronzers and a little bit of peach blush color and I take that this is Patrick's top facial brush and I take that that goes around what the people call like the three of them or whatever The person who won't go out on the runway without touching her face is Joan Smalls Joan, I'm calling your attention girl, but she's good, you know why she taught me to bring my own concealer and It taught me that no one takes care of you along the way. take care of yourself and we're really not supposed to do this as models because we're employees, we show up to work, we do our makeup exactly how we're supposed to look, we're supposed to walk the runway, but sometimes you don't always look so cute so we hide in the bathroom and what we do is we contour and you learn to do it in a way that, like the designers, I mean, Joan is different, everyone knows that Joan does it, but the designer doesn't.
It will be as if you completely change the look of your makeup, but you add little things that make you feel confident. This is weird, but I do mascara, then I finish my blush and highlighter because then I like to go back to the mascara and reapply it. so first I curl and then I blush stila. I like to smile and start with the apples of my cheeks and then I kind of blend it out like that masterstroke. I just throw it from there to there, look at that bam and then I go and outline. right in the middle of my nose and I put a little bit on my lip and then I take the edge like it's slanted a little bit and sometimes if I'm feeling more poppin' I not only put the cream on but I also take the Powder Master Chrome Now I'm going to move on to the lips, so I just fold a towel in half and dry it so that your lips are now hydrated, but you've removed the top layer of product.
I really like this lip liner from Patrick Taw. Because of the shape, it is like a square. I used to be much more of a matte lipstick person and I feel like I'm appreciating a little bit of shine and I'm embarrassed to note that this is a highlighting gloss so it's really cool because it has a lifting effect. It contains serum so it really plumps your lips, yes I'm not a professional I'm only on my 4th month of being a new mom but I would just say we should all try to focus on taking some time for ourselves I know . that sometimes I don't wash my face these days I don't brush my hair for a few days um so I just want to remind those who look at me that this is not how I look every day um sometimes I go a week without touching makeup or already you know, just putting on deodorant is like we're doing great, so remember that you're doing your best, you're doing amazing and just give yourself grace and, uh, if you brushed your hair this week.
I'm very proud of you.
