I'm going to make holes in the acrylic bows so I can attach them with ribbon. If you have a soldering iron, you can use it for this, but I can't find my Right now I'm going to use a hot glue gun to melt two holes in the bottom center of this bowl. I'm using a big hot glue gun and I'm going to hold it in the position where I want the hole and I'm just rocking it back and forth and I'm not squeezing out wax. I'm just using the hot tip of this hot glue gun to melt the plastic.

You don't want to put too much pressure on this or it will break. so just gently move it back and forth until it starts to melt the plastic and create a hole when the head of the glue gun starts to go through you can add a little more pressure and just twist back and forth to make a A hole big enough for me to put some tape through, so I'm going to do this until my big nozzle is halfway down and I'm going to push the tip through the other end just to make sure the hole is open and that should be fine. and I'm also going to make another hole on the other side of that center mark and I'm going to cut a long piece of silver tape and I'm going to thread it through the two holes from the inside and now I'm doing the same thing. thing with my little silver bowl.

I am making two holes in the top of this piece and threading the same ribbons into the inside holes of this silver piece so I can tie it into two pieces. I'm really tying it up. close and pretty tight and then I'm going to attach my door hanger with a very tight knot and then a bow at the top. Now for the bottom of this bulb, I'm using another medium sized bowl and now the large glass cut bowl. If you plan to place this ornament outside on the ground before moving on to the next step and we will put a bag of rocks in the container to weigh it down, this will keep it from tipping over, but I plan to hang them from my light. accessories outside, so I'm not going to use the rocks on this one with the Gorilla Clare group glue.
I'm putting a line of glue right on the inside top edge of the bowl all the way around, so now I'm going to take my large glass bowl and place it directly inside the center of the medium sized bowl. Now I want to make sure this bowl is evenly centered and level, so if you have one, you may want to use a level to make sure the bowl is straight. and while the glue is still wet, you can adjust the bowl completely. Then I'm going to put little dabs of hot glue on each two ridges between the medium and large bowl just to hold them both in place while they're wet.
Next, the glue is drying. I apply clear glue around the top edge of the large bowl and then I place another large bowl directly on top of it and I want to make sure the patterns are lined up now. After letting the bottom of my ornament dry for about half an hour, I'm going to attach the top. I'm turning this over to see the inside and once again I'm going to put clear glue right on the inside edge of the middle. -full size piece around and then I'm just going to carefully place it on top making sure it's centered.
Now I can't use the level on this so I'm just going to look at it and make sure the distance between the pattern on the bottom piece and the bow is the same on all sides and here's my giant glass ornament, it's not a sphere like a light bulb, but I really love the elongated shape, I think it makes it look more elegant and if you just made the top half it would be great for wedding decorations. You can hang them as wedding bells in your church or reception now. LaShonda, if you wanted this red like in your photo, you can easily spray paint clear acrylic pieces before assembling them.
Me too. I love these Christmas ornament topiaries, so I wanted to make something that was a combination of that and glass icicles for each of my giant topiary icicles from Dollar Tree. I'm using six eighth-inch acrylic arches to 11 and a quarter-inch

crystal

-cut arches, one five. one one-inch silver plastic container, three white silver rims, seven and a half inch plastic plates, one silver doorknob hanger, one silver satin ribbon, white decorative mesh, and one and a half bags of white rhinestones. Walmart. I found a set of decorative bells for four

dollar

s. I'm using one of the pieces from the hardware store for this piece.
I took a three-foot, 5/16-inch, 18-thread-per-inch threaded rod and four 5/16-inch, 18-thread nuts and washers to assemble everything. I'm using Gorilla Clear Grip. glue and hot glue gun, so just like with my last ornament, I'm going to use the hot glue gun to attach the hose and these pieces, but this time I'm going to make a hole right in the center and I want these holes to be big enough . to fit my vehicle so I'm going to let the hot tip go all the way and make sure my rod goes through the holes so I'm going to go through and make holes in the center of all my acrylic pieces the six medium arch bows three big silver plates and one small silver bowl so after I make all the holes in all my pieces I'm going to start making giant glass beads.
I'm gluing two of the large bows together to make one large round bead and I'm going to repeat that to make two of these, then I'm going to put together medium sized acrylic bows to make a smaller diamond shaped bead. Now I want another one that looks like this to go to the end. above, but before gluing it I'll need to insert two holes into the side of the center hole so I can put a ribbon inside to tie a silver cap to the top. Now you can use the same type of cap. I used it on the first piece, but I found these cute silver bells at Walmart and I thought they would make a nice decorative cap for this icicle piece, so I'm going to cut a fairly long piece of silver ribbon so that it goes all the way to the end. up at the top of this bill and for now I'm just going to run the tape very loosely and I'm not going to run it all the way through.
I'm just going to leave a one inch gap at the bottom now. I'm going to glue this to the bottom piece with the center hole and this will be my top glass. Now my last two medium pieces will be used for my base, so I'll glue these two pieces together from the bottom down. I want to make sure the edges and circles are aligned. Now the last piece is this little silver bowl and I want to attach it to the base, but one thing that is important is that the hole that you made in these base pieces is pretty smooth or level.
Sometimes when you get out the hot glue gun, it swells up at the top and bottom, so I just use a little piece of sandpaper and sand it so it's level on the inside of this little silver bowl and on the other side of the two bowls I put the medium bowl together and I'm doing this because I'm screwing in the screws and the washers I'm going to put the washer against this and if it's not flat you can make the rod crooked so you can put your clothes on top just to make sure that remains flat or at least level.
Now the last thing I'm going to do is glue this silver container to the bottom of this stand. I'm going to put some glue. right on the top edges and place it on what's going to be the bottom of my base and I'm just going to make sure that the circles line up and I'm putting this here because I want to see a little bit of silver on the bottom of my base to go with the top cover Now that my entire piece is dry and ready, it's time to assemble my glass topiary. I've got my base here and I'm going to take my 3 foot rod, this is a 5/16 inch rod that has 18 threads on it, I'm threading on a nut and then a washer and I'm going to lift it up about 2 inches and insert it into the hose and I'm going to push it all the way down and then I'm going to turn my base over so I can see the other end and I want to insert another washer and a nut into the bottom of this.
I also want the rod to extend only about an inch from the top of the base. I want it to line up with the edge of the silver bowl so screw both ends in a little bit then twist it up and make sure the rod is straight to tighten it just before you tighten it all the way and you want to screw in both ends at the same time to tighten them. as tight as you can without breaking the plastic so don't screw it on too much as they will stand on their own on my porch and these acrylic pieces are not very heavy so I want to add some weight to these pieces so I put two bags and a half of Dollar Tree rocks inside a plastic bag.
I left plenty of room in the plastic bag and tied it with silver wire. I'm using white stones because they won't show up as much as a dark colored Rock, so I wanted it to still look like glass, so I'll just place the stones around a container towards the bottom and to the sides. I also put them in a plastic bag so they can be removed easily and the rocks can't. Scrape off the acrylic now we are ready to thread my giant heirloom coke beads through my rod. I'm starting with my large round piece, then a silver rum plate, a medium diamond shaped piece, another plate with a silver rim, and the other large one around the third plate. and finally the last upper middle piece with the ribbon.
Now to hold everything together I'm going to add a washer on top and a screw and just tighten everything down. Now it's time to add my pretty cap to my ornament as a whole, right at the top in the center and I'll thread the two ribbons through that hole, then I'll pull the ribbon out on each side of the bar until the cap is on top Of the piece. Now I'm going to take my silver door hanger and I'm going to make a loop around the middle part of the door hanger and I'm going to tie it into a bow.
I'm not going to tie a knot because I want to be able to untie this and take apart everything I made. I don't glue two pieces together because I want to be able to separate them and store them in the box. Now for my last little touch, I'm going to add this white mesh and create a little bow at the top just to tie. with my door wreath that has a big mesh bow at the bottom and I'm just adding this as a little scarf on the side and here's my

crystal

icicle ornament. I am hanging my giant crystal ornaments from my chandeliers and I will be placing my crystal icicle topiaries on each side of my door and I think with the clear crystal look it is the perfect addition to my door wreath and to make everything shine through.
At night I added some mini battery operated LED lights around each piece and also on my door wreath and look how beautiful it looks, you would never guess that each crystal ball costs seven

dollar

s to make and the topiary costs about twenty dollars in total with parts from Dollar Tree. I want to see more Christmas decorating tips from some. Really creative women.
