, there are no friends in the least, today my goal is to convince you that despite having been defeated again and again and again in this franchise, Wiley is one of those who ultimately emerge victorious in the Mega Man series, you lose, the bad guy wins and

. too, it's important to recognize that the Mega Man timeline is essentially divided into four main parts: the classic Mega Man Mega Man first

in the series. something deeper at work, you can actually see how Cunning Learning grows and evolves in his techniques creating a massive character arc that spans across a large portion of the Mega Man series and if you read between the lines throughout the classic Mega Man Legends of Mega Man, We will soon see that after years and years of defeat, Wily accepts his death as something inevitable, begins to develop ways to keep his consciousness alive and finally manages to destroy all of

humanity

, although he not only wins the finale of the series that dominates.

game theory how mega man doomed humanity...

How do we know it all starts with Mega Man and yes? Throughout the classic games we see his cunning learn and steal from his rival, Dr. Light is never explicitly told to us, but rather a much more subtle narrative that occurs through the increasingly complicated development of the masters. Wylie robots using the Japanese manual for Megaman one dr. He later receives news that the robots he developed are getting out of control one after another at this rate the robots will take over humanity, of course Sleight has no idea what the message refers to but he quickly makes the connection. that dr.

Wily modified the robots he developed so that when the series begins, Wily will be forced to steal Dr. he powers up robots to achieve his goals and although he ends up losing, the experience was useful because in the next game, Wily discovered how to build his own evil robots in the 1991 Rock Man collection of characters, as Dr. Light tells us it seems that he somehow managed to complete eight of his own combat robots and thus begins a pattern that Wily is constantly losing but also improving based on the events of the previous game in Mega Man 3, we see in the third stage of the Castle that as he progresses to creating his own rudimentary clone of

mega

man, these

mega

clones are a nice model from the build leading up to Mega Man 5 and the introduction of the Dark Man series, unlike other robot masters who are named based on a certain function, Darkman It is the name given to four.

Different robots with only Roman numerals that differentiate them. These guys are particularly interesting as they mimic Dr. Wily's growth in the most literal way, Darkman One, has tank prints and represents Dr. Darkman 2, Wily's early, inexperienced robot development, has more complicated legs on the movement side and electromagnetic shields, but not Buster Dark Man 3 is all Buster without a shield and darkman 4 combined shield and fire arms and legs in an effort to imitate the protoman in all four stages. At Wiley's Castle in Mega Man 5, we watch as the evil doctors design increasingly sophisticated crossings, from tank tracks to one of the toughest fights you'll find in the classic series - unless, of course, you've beaten the bird, in which case it's a However, Mega Man 7 is a bit of a no-brainer, is where we see all this learning come together when he reveals his version of Mega Man and rushes the robots' bass and treble.
Mega Man 7 is also noteworthy because this is where we start to see the doctors changing. Up to this point in the series, he's only focused on creating the strongest robots, but this time is the first time we've seen Wylie actually create a failsafe in case his plans fall apart at the end of Six. Wily is imprisoned. but waiting. This programs him so that his lab will start up and activate for the robot masters in case he is not bothered for six months and this becomes a staple from this point onwards in the series. Wylie has backup plans that he stops building for now and starts building.
For the future now I'm not a doctor, but to me this seems like the kind of behavioral change of someone who is starting to realize that he doesn't have forever to achieve his ambitions after Mega Man regains all the energy immediately Megaman we have. the fan named Megaman eight and a half or Mega Man and was based on a lesser known Megaman title that remained in Japan until the internal Game Boy Advance release in 2003. In this game we see two major events that rebel against cunning and cunning who brainwash their own. creations that should be redundant, true, cunningly brainwashed into the things that you yourself are creating, but the foundations of betrayal in this game show us exactly why, as he pursues this cunning, he is learning that robots to To be truly powerful they must have free will, but that free will comes in a If they have a hard time turning against you, you need to get the robots to willingly follow you or assert your own will in more subtle and covert ways, and in the upcoming games we see exactly which in Mega Man 9 he targets robots that are programmed for layoff and what he tells them is no different than the way he sees the world itself citing that you work hard for humans and then they destroy you when you are no longer needed, just Just because you hit an arbitrary expiration date doesn't mean you should. be discarded and the robots are convinced that they will willingly follow him, the plan doesn't work of course, but it's interesting because it reflects Wiley's mentality at this point, like we said, he's planning for the future, he knows he won't be around forever , just like aging robots, so his focus is on what comes next, prolonging his own life, which continues with Mega Man 10 and why Lee's most important plan in the entire classic franchise, creating the heist , ends with a virus.
The first symptoms of this virus are pretty much what you would expect from a robotic version of the flu, but after a few months the infected robots become dangerous with the following text played on the screen, the infected robots become violent and try to take over of the world. Violence is fine, that's what I would expect, but taking over the world is a very specific behavior, so far there is only one person in the entire Mega Man series who has expressed interest in this type of goal. What we see with Robo Enza is a prototype of the Twily virus, a way to preserve the goal of his life. way to preserve a part of himself after his death, but needs more development after being defeated in Mega Man 11, the last game in the series, and probably the last time we will see these characters alive, makes the claim strangely bold that my plans have just ended. started, he has something else in the works that takes us to series Well, since the early 90s it has been theorized that the super advanced red robot was destroyed. with a lightsaber was a cunning creation, a robot designed to be the perfect Mega Man assassin, there was even this incredibly fun fan game called Megaman Unlimited that closed the story gap by showing Zero as the final, most precious and Wiley's most violent, the culmination.
Of all his experiences up to that point, none of this was officially stated, especially in the games, but it was always very, very implied and finally two years ago, during Rockman Unite, a 30th anniversary event celebrating the franchise, we were given a glance. official design document for Mega Man Well, it's simple, did you catch the peculiar note under project zero? Wily dies. at the same time, zero is completed and yet zero is in stasis when he is discovered almost a hundred years later, it is presumed that zero was sealed away because he was too violent to be controlled, but an all-powerful mad robot kills his creator and takes a snap. for a hundred years it doesn't make sense now you'll notice another branch in this flowchart Wiley is a robot virus project the evolution of his Robo ends a Mega Man 10 plan we know from that game that he was infusing elements of himself into his plans for the world domination in early versions of that virus, so we know that Wily injecting his will into a virus and thus infecting robots isn't that far-fetched, and although the graph says that Wily died before the virus was completed, remember that this It's from very early.
The design process of these games at Mega, our fighters: Wylie alludes to something very different with this robot and my other entire project, the world will be mine. It all leads to one conclusion: the virus, literally, is dr. cunningly his consciousness or his will or something is infused with zero and a zero stasis capsule waiting to be released into the world now, that may seem far-fetched but consider this in a x4 cutscene, we see the classic cunning W flashing across the forehead of zeros. just before some nice guy Sigma smashes him with his giant Reptoid and the zero fist he's taken to the mechanic and when he wakes up he's totally cool, he's a changed robot so you know who suddenly has a taste for violence Sigma and Lee a Through the virus it has gone from Zero to Sigma.
I know the flowchart says that the zero that is built to be bad becomes good thanks to the evil virus and therefore two negatives equal one positive, but that seems, oh, that seems a little silly, if that were really the case, why would it change? From bad to good to zero happens with Sigma breaking the crystal in his head, the harboring point of the cunning virus, and likewise, why would Sigma, the good guy, suddenly become the big bad shortly after this? moment? It is as if the cunning consciousness is transferred between these two. robots or that zero was harboring a more concentrated version of the cunning virus that was transmitted to Sigma and yes as an aside I know that in make man x5 Sigma alludes to meeting an old man who is probably cunning but would make sense with anything else established somewhere else. in the series and it is more likely that he is referring to visions of wily or potentially our next big villain of dr.
Wael anyway, from there the virus becomes known by many names and evolves throughout the x series from the Maverick virus to the Sigma virus to the Zero virus and was actually always the reason why Lee's virus for more proof just look at Sigma's behavior once he gets infected in Wily did in Mega Man 1 in Mega Man X 3 dr. Dopplers, the main villain, only to be revealed later that he was being manipulated by Sigma. It is a direct parallel to Y Lee's plan with Dr. Kasich in Mega Man 4 Sigma throughout the series is recycling why Lee's old plans like he's the same guy playing the same old playbook, but okay, in this theory, I promise to show that Wylie wins, How does that happen from this point forward?
Wiley to Sigma and the virus plunges the world into a constant state of war. Cities are destroyed. Space stations fall to Earth. Thousands of human and robot lives are lost at the hands of this robot who fights cunningly through his last two actions of creating zero and sending out a robo virus. the world hundreds of years of bloodshed to defeat the virus once and for all scientists resort to using zero bodies to create a kind of antibody. This zero-using Sigma antibody program results in the creation of what is called the mother elf. elf destroys the virus once and for all and puts an end to the maverick wars, hooray hooray, it would seem that Lee's influence has come to an end, except for one problem: the elf is corrupted by another evil scientist named dr.
Well, there is no or no connection as far as I know, and this sends the world into another series of Wars, the Elf Wars, which is the plot of the Mega Man Zero series and who is responsible for those wars of the zero elves. So much so that the original 0x Isles itself disappeared several times, includingThere are clones of him created to become some of the most menacing killer robots on the planet. These wars last for years and ultimately only happen because Robot Zero is something that exists ends up being more destructive than the Maverick Wars, resulting in the death of 90% of the Reptoids and 60% of all humans on Earth and this all again ties back to Wiley's creation from scratch and the virus that humanity needed a cure for the virus that used scratch and everything went to hell, creating chaos hundreds of years after his death.
There's also the ZX series mixed in there where the lines between humans and robots get super blurry due to biometals, but that's kind of a side point here anyway. All of this destruction on Earth due to the various wars, along with a massive flood, eventually forces humanity to have to retreat to safety in space, where we enter the final phase of Mega Man's timeline. Mega Man Legends is set thousands of years after the ZX titles in Legends. Meet the master, the last of the original humans, don't forget that the master is the only true human left beyond him, all other humans that exist are dead or have died.
They have been fused with parts of a biometallic robot to create what is known as carbons. We eventually see the master die, meaning the last purely human character in this universe is dead, which brings us to the main choice of the game when Mega Man is tasked. At the end of Legends 2, does Mega Man allow the carbons to live on and leave humanity dead or does he activate a system that removes all the carbons so humanity can be reborn once again? Megaman decides to fulfill his master's wishes and let the carbons live and with that. humanity is and remains completely extinct at the end of megaman's timeline the last human has died and there are no recovery plans thanks to the actions of cunning the human race is extinct it took him over 3000 years to do it but he won All because The Institute of Technology robot chose to go with Dr.
Light instead of Dr. Wily's proposal speaks of a butterfly effect, from small disputes and theft of robots to becoming a damn virus that causes multiple wars, the extermination of millions and the human race having to evacuate to space where they eventually die without this dispute between dr. light and dr. cunningly at the university none of that would have happened the conflict between the two doctors ignited the beginning of the end Wiley's final solution of doing zero and the virus had ripple effects that were felt thousands of years after his death only shows that in the end a despite everything dr. the light did to keep Wiley's evil at bay, it only prolonged the inevitable, frankly, it only made things worse dr.
Wily's plan at the end of Megaman 11 really was the ticket for a one-way trip to extinction and rubbing it in even more. Mega Man Legends 2 ends with Megaman trapped in space with no way to get home, so he even manages to take the Blue. Bomber out of the equation, talk about killing two birds with one stone, so theorists do you a favor and keep all that in mind the next time you and your overeager friend apply for research grants, step on your toes too much and they could end. destroy the human race, but hey, that's just a theory.
Oh, game theory, thanks for watching. Oh and if you want to see really old and embarrassing content, we've actually only done one other episode of Megaman, you want to see it, he's old. I haven't seen it in a while so no promises, but it's there if it's linked on the screen. Chances are if you only watch our new episodes you've never seen this one, so get ready to have a good time and hit that subscribe button. I appreciate it, thank you
