Feb 27, 2020
it will be a little easier to work with pick up the hot wire work I don't like how to work no further you have what I should ah I was very excited about starting the engine that is as easy as I forgot about the brake situation please don't fall panting that's for sure People love to see this old flaw of Adam's like that, wrong salary, well this was his first childhood race and he actually did quite well, at first he was a little unsure about the clutch , but the

back

seemed to break once I got it unstuck, it seemed to work quite a bit.

Well of course I've only had it in first gear, I haven't yet to try any of the other gears, but the first thing we're going to do is replace this freeze plug, let's go ahead and try to get something. fuel in the factory tank, let's see if we can get it to inflate and maybe take this on a little deeper ride now that we've got everything nice and warm and it's a lot harder to work with, we're going to try removing the self-freeze plug when come down there you can see it has a very small rust hole so we should be able to remove it, let's just run to the parts place, hopefully they'll have one in stock, pop that bad boy. it has a little coolant in it, that way it doesn't heat us up, so we had a shorter one, but sometimes you have to make do with what you get, well, I bought it one day, one, that's my nose, there's even a little grip with help it's in pretty bad shape once you see it I go ahead and turn this old ignition off come on Joe pretty rusty yeah it seemed like that was the only place I saw it was leaking water so with luck. that'll be the only one I said, Lisa, that was an easy place to get it, yeah, I love the time I screwed it up, I bet behind the collector.

More Interesting Facts About,

flipping a 1200 big back window c10 into cash untouched 1966 fleetside chevy c10 truck...

I said he's in pretty bad shape, yeah, I tried hard to make a good cleaning system on that thing, but it's hard to say once we get this sorted. I may find a weaker spot and hit another, but I hope not. Do you want to run over there and see if he's 130? I'll probably try it. I guess this is the key to fuel. The tank is listening too, so we're going to have to try to get in that thing and see if I can take the gas cap off and put some fuel in it. I need to find a wire, I'm not saying the wire that goes to the cooling originally from the ignition switch it's just all these wires that go to the module, but there's no wire that goes

back

to the cabin from the ignition switch so it's We may have to run another cable so we can start shutting it down inside the

truck

in the meantime.

I'll do a search and rescue mystery. I just lost it. Don't do it with $500. Yes, here locally, that will be a challenge. Well, we sent dad after the new freeze plug. I'm going to go ahead and address it. The lockable gas cap on this

truck

when we bought it we did not receive any key included so we had to get into the truck from the inside. I can't get into the gas tank right now and obviously we have been running it on hot wires, but one thing that's really cool about this truck, besides the fact that it's super clean and super intact, is that when my friend found it, he even found the title in the glove compartment, this is something I've always wanted to find, but I never had the privilege of being able to find one inside this package that, rather funny, says to always remove the ignition and lock keys the doors when leaving the car unattended, that's exactly what this owner did, that's why we've happened. to get into it, plug the truck in to start it, but there are some really interesting documents in here, including the original owner's manual, obviously the title is here, the rarely found, rarely seen Chevrolet skid plate from what I have read.

Basically you bring this in when you go to service your truck, you would show them what engines are in the truck, what rear end and all the numbers that match, everything matches this label here, so we have a completely intact original rear engine. -original transmission end, everything goes with this skid plate right here, we even have the original receipt from when this was purchased new. I mean, finding the title in the glove compartment is exciting in itself, but finding so many documents with it, I mean. It's just extraordinary when I first saw it, the first thing that came to mind was to chop it up and turn it into a short bed truck.
I love the big rear

window

it has, but as clean as this truck is, it's as smooth as it runs and there are some really interesting documents. I think we're going to have to hand them off to someone who just wants to leave it as is. Have you tried some spare keys we had in the store. Sometimes you can look and get an old key. to work here and drop it, none of them seem to work, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and drill this glass. I can stick a screwdriver in there, something that will allow this lock to come undone where we are.
You can remove this lid, you just have to put a normal one on it, where it gets very unpleasant inside. I hate to see that, but we'll have to put an inline fuel filter on it so none of that stuff comes up. On the girl with the carburetor I have one, no, yes, you have a key in the eyes of the rubber, the other rubber does not. I'm going to go ahead and disconnect this jumper cable that they had here to cool down here so I can run it. Back inside the ignition switch, the bastards will actually be able to turn the truck off and jump start it in there, so I don't see the original wire that would have gone back to it, so I just plug another one in, it works fine. that old gas cap over there, oh yeah, yeah, I had to drill it out and basically destroy it, but how hard was it, it wasn't that bad, no, there you go, the cleanest thing inside doesn't look so good once you we have this. thing to light, we'll put some fuel in it and let gravity fade for now until we pump it up, maybe put it in a small bucket to see what it looks like.
I'm sure we have a little filter online that we can put in the middle of there and I'm sure it will probably reach it. I'm good now, yeah, yeah, I got it, yeah, I got it, yeah, just take a little rinse and it's just spin it two, three, four times, so try to go ahead and put. a little bit more water so there should be a wire coming out of this ignition switch to our cooling you can't really see it here the ignition would have been the bottom so a red wire on our orange there is no cables of that color, let's run it through there. so I'm going to go ahead and run another one right in that spot, you're done with this batch, yeah, I'm just putting this summer style.
I'm going to go ahead and see how to replace this hose right here. Lance it looks like it's twisted and pinched pretty hard and it will pump that feeling yeah yeah as soon as I get this this wire went back in there and it's about to turn it back on okay I'll have to order. a new factory style ignition switch for this truck because having all this harness in very good shape, I really don't want to have to cut that out and make it after the aftermarket style switch so we will order a new original switch which is needed but for now I'll just be able to run this wire to our main hot wire coming out of the battery.
I'll run it through there and then I can also run it through the starter solenoid from that same wire. so this spiral is here, it will be hot to cool, turn on the fan to turn it off, I'm just going to take the wire out for now so I can do some work with those pliers, I have a grip, it will come loose, just greasing. up he drew first blood oh man oh man we're trying worse he's the house clamp some might not be big enough I'm going to go ahead and put in a little sensitivity tank okay it sounds like there's something in there hopefully It will be gasoline, yes.
I'm going to let us try it first before we put too many good things on these big old vehicles like Mike's big interior tables to hold all the tools and parts you're working on, yeah, and don't have. worrying about having to stick your hand in a tight spot, cutting your hands off, okay we're good on this end, it's hard to quote that guy, I thought they weren't getting fire and hit the ignition jumper. Oh, not much either. there, but it should be enough to see if it's going to cream, we don't want it, well, yes, what's in the carburetor bottle will drain, ha ha, ready, yes, well, we left this truck without fuel in the carburetor bowl and just had the temporary tank go straight to the fuel pump while it was running there was absolutely no fuel coming out of the fuel pump so maybe that's why this truck was parked in the past no I'm very sure where I know 100%.
The fact that we are not going to have a fuel pump like this at our local parts store around here, so you will have to order it. I have an inline fuel pump that we can put in there that way we can move this truck. to the car wash, rinse it out and make it look a little better before we put it up for sale, we're just going to use this regular inline electric fuel pump, it's just going to go in the place where the fuel pump is here. I'll just plug it in, ground it and have a wire directly to the battery or I can run it to the ignition switch where I can turn it off and it turns off the fuel pump when we turn off the engine. so basically I'm going to go ahead and run that here right now to allow fuel to pump directly from the fuel tank that we have on the truck and we'll be able to eliminate that temporary tank that they were running here on the hood, so when you install this, make sure that has an obvious flow mark, which means that this is how fuel will flow from the tank to the carburetor.
It seems like a silly mess but I've seen it happen, usually this pump has mounting holes where you would bolt it into place, but for now this is just temporary so we'll let the fuel line hold it in place so we can move this choke. I'm going to the workshop again. This is a new fuel pump. We haven't used it yet, so it only has an inline filter right before it, so it should catch any debris that comes out of this tank. Just show it. right here with a factory ground on the battery ground, so we are now.
I think I'm just going to run this wire and splice it into a longer wire and for now just run it straight to the battery and I can just unplug it whenever the trucks aren't running just unplug it to sell the fuel pump don't stay activated, so on this truck the idea was basically to see what we had when we bought the truck, all we knew was the story they told us. on it and what we could see was that it really was a clean truck as far as the outside and even inside it still has a factory rubber mat on the floor, even the gas tank still has the cardboard on the outside, so that this truck was really intact and really cool to find it and knowing it works now makes a big difference so with everything connected it should be able to do it.
I should be able to connect this to our heart and the fuel pump should activate, yes. so we should have some fuel up there. I could go ahead and disconnect this real quick and we'll just turn on the fuel pump before we try to start it, let this run into a jug and just see what the gas looks like. like I know it's going to be old gasoline, so what I'm going to do before I put the fuel in this carburetor is I'm just going to go ahead and let this fuel pump pump it into this jug.
I know this gas is very old, there will probably be some garbage in it, it has this inline filter that we have so hopefully it will catch everything, but hopefully it won't clog the filter either, we just don't want a lot of garbage getting in this carburetor, especially how it's sitting on Adlon, is working pretty well so we just want to see what it looks like before we get into it any further and it's really not that bad, you can smell it's definitely old gas but there's not a lot of junk or anything I'm looking at it so I think it'll be good to keep plugging that thing in so now we should be able to run this truck on the factory gas tank and not have the ghetto gas tank installed on the hood so one thing was fixed, dad was doing research and found a note cup that we had bought for a 65

chevy

c10 that we had when we bought this truck, obviously there were no keys so we removed the old cup from this ignition. changing this will save us a lot of headaches, a lot of trouble, a lot of Regan, so we can just put this glass in there and it will still be the same wiring that it originally had from the factory and we will be able to start this truck without hot Riley, basically, the glass just will enter whenevereverything is lined up turn it and there it goes so now we have a key for the truck let's see to plug it in wallah hey let's go ahead and run that wire from the fuel pump back to the ignition switch that way we won't have to open the hood and unplug it, it will be fine, you will still turn off with the switch outside, put it through the same hole, it is fine, done, yes, you may have to cut.
However, that end ends so that it doesn't come out with the fried side. There are no wheels that have some directed towards you. Let me know when you loosen it. Okay, you have quite a bit to carry. Well, yes, they are working. Okay, on the engine there, that's what I'm doing so it doesn't get into anything. Okay, yeah, we're okay, it's just temporary. We can go in and tie him up here in a moment, but oh well. Anyway, it's just a temporary solution. Well, I have a mechanical fuel pump here tomorrow, so this is just a temporary fix to move the truck a little better.
You should go ahead and put the power switch back into the socket where it belongs. In the test, look, apparently you need to install this cup with the ignition switch installed in the truck, so you should be able to pull it back out, screw it back in, put the cup back in, you've got that clip, it's better. right, we should be able to help me, go ahead and try it and see what we're going to try, okay, fuel, daddy running, we're drowning, come on, we're flooding the slide, yeah, go ahead, a link there first, but it's not like that. wants I don't know.
I'm going to turn the key so you can say what it says. Okay, don't button, just don't flood right now. I'll go ahead and try to figure you out, okay, Margit Morgan? Praise God, it's even worse now, a lot. Oh, headlights: life, yes, even continues, so now we have a hassle. Chan, we have a lot more work and stuff. I was hoping the headlights would work. I have - lights, but it's probably just a Bad terrain or something it could be no. I think this is a lot more mobile right now, so if we want we can go to the car wash, rinse it off.
I see mud, it's taped on that control arm here. It looks like the truck. was putting the plum in its belly at some point, I mean, put a little more fuel in the tank, take it there and get some rent and yeah, get one step closer to a new owner. I know well that he seemed to succeed. The car wash was good. One of the things that caught my attention when we came across this truck was the beautiful colors it had. I love this patina. I love the old turquoise with the rust color. To me, those colors go really well together to give You've got a really good true patina, what we're going to do is just dust off the old dust, so there's a lot of dirt on this thing, there's a lot of mud underneath from the winter, where it's been sitting on the forest, so we're going to get Rinse everything and put a little bit of linseed oil on it, that's really going to make it shine a little bit and make these colors really pop.
We have to hurry up and apply some linseed oil to this old lady. It works best when applied. directly into direct sunlight, we are about to run out of that and they don't sell it here in town locally either, so this is just a basic boiled linseed oil that you can find at almost any hardware store. I think we bought it. at Home Depot, but it's very easy to apply, put it in a container, take your little cloth, just spread it out there a little bit, it's very helpful, you don't want to put too much on it, but it will really stand out.
All of these colors where you can see them much more will protect the metal. You'll have to reapply it every month or so, but it works great to give this a little shine if you want. I'm going to go ahead and tackle this side and bring down this dark front. I'm sure a lot of people would think this truck has a clear coat when you use this linseed oil. The problem you find with clear coat is the transparent. The coating will only last so long and it will start to delaminate and peel off and you will have a huge mass where it is, it just won't last as long, it will fade a little, it won't be a brighter clear. coat, but you won't have the problem of your clear coat coming off everywhere later.
The downside to this product is that every time you use it you go home smelling like McDonald's mom's greasy fries and saying it's better than what I normally make. go home smelling good, you can see the difference here between where we apply the linseed oil and where we don't, it just gives the metal a little deeper shine, a nicer look brings out a lot of the colors, this will die. stand back a little, it won't be as shiny, but it will give it a nice rich look, makes the truck look a lot less like a project and has a lot more potential when we bought this one.
Old truck I had every intention of converting it into a short bed truck. We take it home. It seemed to start very easily. It had a freeze plug that we had to replace. It wasn't a big deal. I found really awesome documents and I couldn't find them. We got to a point where we wanted to convert it to a short bed as the truck has tons of potential. We spend a day of work on it and the potential increases tenfold. In my opinion, it is simply a beautiful truck. We will put it up for sale if you are interested in this truck, it will be a no reserve auction starting at $0.99 so we will let the buyer decide what it is worth and hopefully we will go to a new home.
