tournament

, although it's a different story I lost a few fish, I caught a decent 17 inch

bass

, I talked to a lot of people today that are also

fishing

, a lot of guys say they didn't catch anything, some say they caught three, but they're small so I don't.

You know what we're going to do, basically, the German director, uh, what was a couple of days ago was like you think you don't have a big bag of fish, uh, don't even bother weighing it, which I think is kind of silly because I mean, there are people who come here and pay admission and want to go up on stage and have that experience, that's the whole point of this, but we might not even weigh the fish unless we have the idea that Literally, like a hundred other people. people had the same type of date as us and it's literally like a one fish deal.

I haven't been talking too much about the camera just because I've been focused on the area trying to win this derby, but it's not like that, it's not looking. Probably, but hey, one thing we did for sure is that we laughed and caught the experience and that's the only thing we caught, just a good time and an incredible experience. I wish it was 110 pounds, not just John D. yeah, thanks buddy, cool, there you go, we got Ryan and Jonathan, uh, John Ryan is in the back of the boat, okay, he hit the boat, okay, we're going to weigh this in a fish, we're going to weigh it in a two forty seven two four seven, how did you do it? catch this fish, uh, dragging a five-inch log, shallow, shallow, have you been practicing in that same area?
Yeah, practice in that area, I fished a little bit and then I went up until this morning, I caught it first in the morning and then it pretty much went to the officials. rest of the day, so thanks, good deal, come over here buddy, take a picture with the guys there, fish the trailer, so just stop by, I've got you, thanks, well, there we have it. My first tournament in many moons. The tracker is turned off. the water when you're back in the

barn and I just want to take a few moments to sit down and talk to you one on one this was not easy this was not easy from so many different aspects without a doubt the longest week two weeks, months of all my life preparing for this tournament preparing for this very day and I can't lie, I feel extremely defeated and very disappointed and I haven't been able to get over it even you know after the fact that We're out of the water now and we're saying goodbye to Ryan.
Ryan is actually back in Maine and it's been a few days since the derby, but I had to take some time to calm down. The steam was definitely rising, but I. I'm definitely a little more relaxed now and happy to have been able to fish in this tournament. I'm glad I caught at least one fish and I'm glad I intervened in the scenario, like that's what it was really about the fact that I didn't give up on the fact that we persevered, I may have broken some rod and some reels, it's I may have had a few seizures, that's beside the point, it just shows how passionate I am about this, you know, I've spent literally hours and days if you really want to add up everyone on these ships preparing for things like this and it was a great event, You know, it was very well managed and I had a great time, let's take a look to see the exact results of this derby because Know that you guys are probably curious, out of 250 boats, only 98 weighed in and your son was in 88th place with 2.47 pounds with one fish, so many people, so many people didn't even reach their limit, in fact, many.
Of these guys who actually placed and are going to the championship for the million dollar prize they probably didn't even get a cap and they made it, what's the moral here? What can we get out of this? For me personally, fishing can be so humbling, especially when you're competing against 250 other guys and not only are you competing against 250 other anglers but you're also competing against the fish. The fish are the real competitors in this whole thing. They never cease to surprise me, you know? I'm really moving to the derby side when it comes to bass fishing, but I might start doing it, especially after this tournament.
Now I'm very hungry. No, I'm not okay with 88th place. I want to do it. Start fishing more tournaments now, whether small, medium or small, you guys will have to let me know and leave a comment if you want to see more derby videos. We will make it happen. This one was especially unique and probably once in a lifetime. I am happy to have done it. I can say that I was a part of this historic event in bass fishing, this $1 million amateur event, and I hope you enjoyed the video. I know it wasn't very suspicious at the end of the course. derby moments, but you guys got to see a lot of John B uncut, which may or may not be a good thing anyway.
I'm finishing this video. I've rambled on long enough, but I appreciate the view. Thank you very much to all. for the support throughout this endeavor and let's make it happen again and try to place at least in the top 50, maybe not 88 next time, but either way, Pete won't pull the plug. Thank you all so much for watching today's video and, as always, keep going. fishing never stops you
