So this is the signage that I will make and then here are some of the other wood items along with this little washboard that I know I will put some greenery on and then here are the metal items that I will also make today It's easier for me to do it all in any group rather than making individual pieces, especially since I shop secondhand almost every week. I like to do them all at once and then I can move on to my next

thrift

purchase, so here it is. the first part is flipping small items, removing the stickers, cleaning them all, sanding them, you know, it's not so glamorous that side of redoing an item, so we'll fast forward to this because there are a lot of pieces and I don't.

I don't want to make this video too long so one of the other reasons I like to use old signs and repurpose them to fit into my

farmhouse

decor is that it usually always has hangers on it so I'm going to take them down and stuff those holes. give them a spray paint job to update them to the black that I normally use for any display hanger now these little wooden apples had holes in them but I thought they were cute little pieces that I could paint white so this water putty is just a change of game.

I used it on a previous project where I completed engraved words, so I was happy to use it to complete these little worms or a pencil. I'm not really sure what was in it, but I knew I wanted to do it. Fill that hole with this water putty so the instructions are more or less add the dry powder and water until you get the consistency you want put it on let it dry and you see I can sand it and it's a rock well I don't we are. hard enough rock that I can sand it and then to start, I just want the start and the wire hook, so I'm going to remove this kind of staple and Brad is on, so I'm going to remove this shaped berry wreath.
Op and removing the rusty star, but I'll save that rusty star for another project in case I need it, so since this is my first time trying to paint one of these Lazy Heute Susans, I didn't want to paint the bottom. To make sure it flowed freely, I didn't want to worry about having to sand it, so you see, I taped it down a lot, so now at this point in the project, I have everything separated into how I'm going to do it. to paint it, what I am going to use to paint it and then everything is prepared, it is a putty that is sanded, this small piece that I put on a lazy susan is cleaned.
I like to save them for a dollar a night all the time. It just makes it really easy and then I like to put things on boards so they don't stick together. You know, sometimes, especially drop cloth that's been used a lot. You know everything is taped together, so preparation is very important before you even get to the part. the fun part of a painting, so now I'm going to use my Rust-oleum paint and my matte black primer to spray my metal items, including the little apples, just because they are so soft that at times the brush would leave marks and I didn't want to risk that and these are one of those items that, especially if you're spray painting and we all know about masks right now, I wear a mask and I have a fan running.
I have my garage doors open, ventilation is very important when you are spray painting. I just wanted to remind people of that and now the rest of the wood items will get a base coat of black and then some of them will be the end of them. layers so now after two coats of black some of the elements are complete and I'll take them to the side and then what's left will turn white so for the metal pieces that will stay black I like to seal them with a bit of acrylic poly so before I move on to painting white elements I'm going to take the black elements and I'm going to sand them that way I can finish them why the white paint is drying on the other eye and even for these boards I'm doing science.
I always distress my signs first because if I lean aggressively on this, when I have words, all the words will come off, so now it's time to spray paint the metal elements and I'm using rust. oleum paint and primer and one in flat white, so for the rest of the items I'll use matte paint and primer and one in flat white and give them two, three, four coats, whatever it takes to cover. them and I will finish the metal items with a couple of coats of this paint. I also like the difference, it's a different white than the spray paint and I like the way this one turns out.
I don't really like how it rusts. -oleum sands, so I choose to add a couple of coats of this. Now I'm going to sand to distress all the pieces and then give them a nice light sanding all over just to make sure the item is nice and smooth and protects. the paint I finished all the products that I'm not going to stencil on with a very fine finishing wax, so part of my original haul I had this glass nearby and it had this rubber on the bottom and I really liked the green tint. this glass so I thought I would glue some juice around the bottom just to give it a little more of a farmhouse look and cover that rubber seal and then I also had this little jar that had some primitive ribbon on it. and I was going to do the same.
I'm just going to add some jute around it and I'm spray painting the little cap that goes on top so I was just updating it to fit into my farmhouse decor so for my signs I'm going to use something from my studio design on my Silhouette Cameo and I'm going to use that little selection from the market and I'm also going to use the grocery

store

and I'm going to keep both as they are. are and then this welcome to the pantry is also in the

store

design store, so I'm going to keep this one the same and then I'm going to use this brown, but I'm going to delete it all the time and then I'm going to add a bar. a different font and then I'll have to highlight it and group it so I can adjust it to the size I need for my sign, so I had seen these girls on Instagram who inspired me to make my next sign, so I wanted the chicken and greenery from there, but I thought I was going to delete what I didn't want and end up being left with those little stars, so this was a design that was also in my store, so I'll keep what I want and get rid of what I don't want, so I need to change the size of my chick and then I have to turn it in the direction that I would like it to go and then I would, you know, right click and you know.
She went upside down for a second, but I'll get it right away and then I'll use the same thinking as before and just type in the chicks and then group them all together, size them, and move the stars where I want them. I want them to be and then group it all together so I can cut it out of my Silhouette studio. I'll also use this home sweet home from one of those, so for my last slide I created this bed and breakfast. you do both and you can see that I use those swirls from the previous image and then I got rid of everything that I didn't want by deleting it and then I'll show you a quick little version of how you make the circle and then you can write some letters and make it follow the circle and then you have to know, after you put them in the circle, then you have to do it, although you can remove that circle and you have the space you want.
I know. This video will end up working because there will be a lot of changes in this third fall, so this is my quick version, so then I'll show you the Bed and Breakfast how I use the Duck brand contact paper. and use it as my transfer tape to catch the transfer of this permanent vinyl to my piece of wood that I'm going to make the sign out of. I will say it's a little challenging since the vinyl is black and the paint is black, so I guess if I'm making a lot of these I might want to order white vinyl because the clear contact paper I use would have the same effect, so that you can't really see where the letters are.
I can barely see them so I really have to work to make sure my image is in place correctly. Then when I feel like my image is placed correctly, I rub it with my credit card, hate my gift card anyway, and then remove it. contact paper I prefer to use permanent viola on previously sanded boards because it adheres a little better. I try to clean the boards so you don't have to sand and then make sure it's nice and glued. You know, there's no bleeding under the vinyl and you really want to make sure that your stencil is right here so there's no bleeding under the color of my stencil.
I'm using Apple Barrel in white. multiple use so I'm just using a makeup sponge for the applicator that comes to the Dollar Tree and I'm just doing that where it's kind of a dry sponge that you put a little bit of paint on and you heat it up and then you take a little bit so that don't soak in paint so you don't push it under the stencil and then like a drying technique so I did that with all the same white signs same technique and now it's on to my next step so I want to give you a look at these signs of aging, so I'm using Waverly Antique Wax.
I really love this, this is just a multi use for me and what I'm going to do is go over the entire piece. I'm going to look at my painting and what's next that's going to age that white and make it not look like a new sign and for the white fluted tray I just used a design from this studio, so for this grouping of this throat, ah a In a lot of these items I imagine greenery so I like to give a finished product if I can, so this one was pretty simple. I just sold this lavender as soon as I put it up so I thought it would be a great addition to this watering.
So for this little tent, I love the design and the handles. I'm just going to cut off some of the floral foam that you know you get at Dollar General or Dollar Tree and to save money I gobble it up as much as I can but this round I had to buy some so I'm just cutting it down to size suitable and then I use that dried grass to cover it which is also found in dollar tree, boxwood, lavender and I have actually purchased two different types of boxwood at Walmart which is great because this really helps keep down my retail price when you can buy them for less than $2, so then I'll arrange them however I like and I cut the stems for the arrangement, so the same with this little box of sunflowers.
I filled it with foam. I'm going to put grass on top of it and for this one I'm just going to put boxwood leaves on it and then I just cut it from the original stem and there's like two parts to the stem, so I cut the part that has three leaves or the branches and then I cut it as as much as I could to have wire so I could stick that poem on and then I put the two branches away and then I go out so the first one goes in the middle and then the shorter ones come in and then I like my arrangements to be nice and complete and especially at this price, I can afford to do it, so for these little ones there were probably supposed to be them for your mail, but I see them all the time and I can actually throw them away for a dollar because I thought I would try to make them. some vegetation, so I hung some wire on the back of this and then I just took those thin cuts of what didn't fit and then I fit the same thing, filled it with the grass, the foam and then I'm going to cut it off. lavender from this and just store this whole lavender and you know it's on wire so it's flexible so I can make it hang so for this cabinet door that was a sign that I'm actually going to turn it back into simply. a plain black with some distressing and I distressed it after distressing it to give it that aged look and then I'll just add a simple greenery wreath to it.
I love that green andthey are black again, just pop out Then when I finished the wreath I added the extra wire on top to make some sort of hook and then I will add a little hook to the cabin door where I had to drill that way if you want to change . this for the holidays or change your wreath if you can and then I always add a hanger. I like my products to be my completion items so I added a hanger and you can feel a little bit of that little hanger for the wreath so I just put a little bit of hot glue on top to make sure it wasn't sharp buddy, that I want to scratch anyone's wall and the nice thing about removing the hardware from the little hangers of these signs is that I wasn't committed to the directions they were supposed to take, so I need to read, fill them in and add them back for the direction.
Signs are going well just when you thought I was done with all my makeovers, I have two more to go. This watch and I looked it up is from the Bombay company but it was selling on eBay for only $40.00 and none of them had sold so I thought there was a perfect opportunity for this beautiful watch to be given new life so Yes You are new to my channel and have always watched my channel. You know, I try to remove every piece of hardware if possible. I just think it doesn't stick the paint as much, so that's what I'm doing right.
Now I'm trying to get all these metal pieces that I can remove from this clock and then for this piece I knew I was going to spray paint it to give it that black look. I wasn't going to paint this piece white, so I needed to tape up as much glass as I could and then inside the boxes or inside the clock, there's a beautiful velvet and I'm going to tape it up because the spray paint It's like water through any small crack it can get through. So I'm using my Rust-oleum, the flat black paint and the primer to spray this piece and I'm going to have to turn it over, you know, and right side up and make sure it's all covered and then seal this piece.
I'm going to give it a couple of coats of Poly Kerlick. I help people say that their black paint doesn't act like chalk paint, but it always does when I use it, so I like to seal them before I sand it and What I love about pieces like this, just like the furniture we make , those sharp edges, just those square edges, once you wear them down, they just give the piece a completely different look, so my final piece is this little green house and when I looked for it I thought I was going to be able to remove the glass and spray paint it because as you see it has some rust on it but I couldn't do it so I really had to think about this a little bit and I thought I'm just going to clean it up and use paint and primer and hope it covers the rust and can seep through but I guess that gives it an aged look and I'll just wear it down so it stays on my target. stand and it's some green and some black and it'll give it a new look and then I sealed the paint on this as well with the bear just because you know I was a little bit hesitant about how the paint works.
I was going to continue with this. I will be using a spray paint that adheres better to metal, so here are the finished products. Here's that sign that was a cabinet door that I turned into a cabinet door and added that greenery wreath and those two simple candle holders. on that 10 with that lavender green, I love all those details and you said, oh my gosh, please don't paint that clock, but I love the clock, since it's worn in that black and that lavender, there's just something about it. lavender that appears in those little cans and I like that it gathers in that old ribbed tray, you can use it as a tray or you can use it as a wall hanging and that cute and simple just that bowl gave it new life and that water in the jug even though it was New Age galvanized so there was no harm in giving it a paint job and I love this little plate holder and just holding some of my little ironstone plates that I don't even use just for decoration. and that simple copper washboard with greenery.
I love how that distrust grows and just giving, you know, those little nuggets that started to be taken away gave new life to that little star and I know I could have left this greenhouse alone and I didn't. I put anything in it but I just had these terracotta pods that have been lying around and I love that lavender and why I can still get it. I'm going to use it and I love how this all pops out and there's something about those simple little boxes and those simple little words. I love it when I paint them black and show those words and I'm not sure about the Lazy Susan, but I love it in white and I love it. how that little painted fruit, you know, is just a cute addition of a little piece of decor and I love breathing new life into these crosses.
I have a pair of my own and I love them and I think it's a great idea for these little ones. mailing envelopes I love that I put a hanger on it and it's just a new piece of decor, then here we go with those cute little boxes, how that black makes that phrase stand out and I love that little pig. In fact, I use something similar. on a stool a while ago, but I love that pig. You know, it's hard to believe that the sign had apples around it, but I loved that it was wired and I loved that it said: I love chicks and I think that's it. another word for your shed so I think it's perfect and I love updating that little primitive jar and I love how that simple coffee bar sign turned out and that it just coordinates with the brown that surrounds it on the border gene on that close dome I love to add that there is something about I didn't make jute into one piece and then just painted that simple bowl white it just gave it a new life and now it will fit into anyone's decor and I have to say one of my most sold are these grocery signs so I was happy to make one of these second hand signs with this text and I don't even know if you realize how big this can is and how beautiful that lavender pops with that black and that white I love it and I love the simplicity.
I mean, it doesn't seem simple, but welcome to the pantry with that cute little pig and the little egg for oh and this can of greenery. Just like I said, there's something about that doodoo and in that Judah just takes it to the next level and I know I probably made someone sad by covering up these someone's painted wine bottles, but I love the details on these old wooden pieces and I I like the saying and I love it, I love it. to throw these cans I know people, I meet them all the time and I love putting up greenery and there's that simple jute twine again so thank you so much for watching today's video and I hope you stay until the end to see the reconstructions. of how these articles turned out and again I thank you very much for watching today's video and I thank you if you are part of my YouTube family, that help has helped me grow to more than 5000 subscribers.
