Let's go ahead and jump right into it, so there's definitely some things that are going to stay on some things that are going to be installed here the first thing that's going to stay for sure is this lamp.

I think we can definitely incorporate it into the new design. It is newly installed. Everything from there down really needs to change. All the furniture is going away, my mom can't wait for this table to disappear, it's constantly foggy and it always looks dirty. We do not recommend glass tables and these fabric seat cushions are totally destroyed. We want something more functional, easier to clean and better looking overall. I also want to highlight this wall. This is the first wall you see when you walk through the house and I really want to soften its appearance and really enhance all the curtains.

I definitely want to add a lot more interest to this wall. It's just a big bare wall right now and I think with just a little bit of detail and a little bit of decoration we can transform this back wall and make it look a lot more interesting. We are absolutely changing the paint color here. I'm really excited for a new look, but before we get

ed, I'm going to tape all the edges around the kitchen cabinets, around the moldings, work on the doors so we end up with a clean, crisp look, and Of course, removing everything from the walls so I can prepare to paint, which includes removing these old noisy blinds so I can go around the door, yes, they definitely need to go, so I will donate everything that comes from this

that I am getting rid of , so I pack it up. all my little pieces and screws so I could donate it all in one piece with nothing missing.

We're slowly trying to get rid of all the gold and beige in the house and bring in a fresh new color, so we're going to use a color called cake batter, that's what cake batter looks like. I chose it from benjamin moore's aura collection and it's a warm white, so it will obviously brighten the room, but we'll still keep it a nice warm tone the next day. the paint is complete and I love this color, it's creamy, it's warm but it looks brighter and cleaner here today we are going to make some changes to the furniture.

The first thing I want to add to this space is a rug that I really want to ground. Our new furniture adds some pattern to the floor, some interest and really softens the look of this space. I know what you guys are thinking. A rug in the kitchen, isn't it going to get dirty? Yes, maybe, but I have a durable rug. Resistant rugs. They are machine washable so I was very excited to order one of these because I think this is the most functional rug you can get if you have kids in any type of messy area and still want a rug this seems like the best solution.

It's called Cameron Hazel and I really like its pattern, a kind of transitional rug, a little bit modern and a little bit traditional, so now that the rug is out, I want to bring in our new table. I

ed the purchasing process for this one. table on Facebook Marketplace and I kept coming across all these tables that just weren't in good condition, oh that's like a big scratch, so I opted to go to Homesense trying to find a good deal there, trying to find the perfect table and They just had tables that were too big, too rustic for the space, they just weren't the right fit.

Then I saw this little side table. As soon as I saw this, I knew the kitchen table had to look like this. I love the round shape. I love the pedestal leg. the color, so I followed the path and found this beautiful

table and it was perfect. This is the style of table I've been looking for here. It is the correct style with the kitchen. All these nice curved edges. It really matches the light on top. Now let's get some new chairs every shopping trip starts at home and honestly it's a lot of fun for me.

I come and go from here like every day looking for the right pieces. This time I was lucky to find this dining room chair and it was the perfect color, the perfect shape, I brought a piece of wood from the kitchen to match the color and see if it would look good and I thought it was perfect, it really sold me that it was finally A fabric that wasn't velvet or linen was something that could be wiped with a damp cloth and cleaned to make it last a long time. The last piece of furniture that we are going to add here is a storage unit and this is a really beautiful piece that I found on Homesense the other day and I was very lucky, now it's time to bring it here and see how it looks so we ended up putting it on sale because it was actually missing the hardware pulls so I thought it was no big deal we can install our own so I bought some little knobs at Home Depot and they were black so they matched perfectly and you can install them very easily , so that definitely wouldn't be the reason that would stop me from purchasing this beautiful piece, so I have all the new furniture and I love the scale of everything it works it feels attractive it looks elevated but it's not

This is very exciting because of all the finishing touches that were added. I put this garbage bag so that at least part of it can be a surprise. so no one is allowed entry until the big reveal. I'm going to add some curtain panels to each side of the door to really help frame that wall and soften its look whenever you hang curtain rods, hang them as high as you can. up to the ceiling to expand the look of the room to decorate. In fact, I'm going to use a lot of pieces we had in the house that might look better in this space, so I call this house shopping.

I buy these two pieces. from our house that really match and have all the right colors, they're the right size and I'm going to use them together on top of this buffet, okay, I'm done with the room that I'm so happy with. all the finishing touches really brought this whole space together and it looks so much better than before, like the mismatched furniture, the wrong style pieces, too many chairs, we took all that out and started over here and I'm so glad we did because this is It looks amazing, so let's bring my parents over and see what they think of the new and improved space.
