Jun 11, 2021

reacting

to Madeline Patch's quarantine

skin

care

routine

. I didn't know who she was into. January she was the first person I reacted to and since then I have absolutely fallen in love with her her content her vegan recommendations and all the things she does so if you don't know or if you are new here hello my name is cassandra benson I am an expert and I have been in the skin

care

industry for over 10 years and have personally struggled with acne for over 15.

I am a medical esthetician and although I have worked alongside both doctors and dermatologists, I am not a doctor, said this, I love analyzing, scrutinizing and learning from other people's

skincare

routine

s and it almost looks like she's using maybe it's the common aha bha mask on this one, I'm not exactly sure but let's find out by pressing play this. It's been a very strange week for me. I don't know why it just wasn't my favorite week since I've been alive. You know, it's like one of those weird weeks. It's been a strange year. I live the same thing, I wanted to show you how I improve my mood and take care of my

self

when I feel like I need a little more

self

-love, so I'm going to tone my face a little with Renee Roulette moisturizing infusion toner, she always tells me that I still there should be some residue on my skin.

I also want to start. I am by no means a

skincare

expert. I'm not a dermatologist. I'm not a professional. I just learned things while I was on set. my facialists from my dermatologist and I feel like I know what works for my skin, sometimes I constantly change and what I like to use so take this with a grain of salt, I thought we could hang out and do skin care together. and the chat is not that deep she loves renee berlo and i think it works very well for her like she mentioned it's really not that serious and i hope everyone who watches these videos knows that i'm never criticizing a person but rather their choices in skin care. products because for me it is an interactive and fun way to learn and have these discussions.

Her skin looks like you know the frosting they put on some of those, like French cookies, like she always has this frosting since I watched the videos of her. at least since January she always has this frosting on and you know she's doing something right, she wears sunscreen every day so that's a big plus when we look at this Renee Velo moisture infusion toner, the ingredients are actually half decent, We have propane water. a dial we have cyclopentasiloxane, we have a little bit of black cumin seed oil and dimethicone and again, this has a lot of water and propane dial, so it's very runny, but if it was in a thicker formula, it would be a great moisturizer, What I love.

What I see here is that we have niacinamide and vitamin C, we have different phospholipids, so again, I haven't touched it, but it almost seems like it's more of an essence than a toner, um for 45.43, it's a little bit. expensive, I know she loved the elderberry one in the past um, for me, I don't know if I would pay the money if I had it, but if I had student debt or other things to pay off, I would definitely prioritize that first because there are a lot of scents good beauty products that I guess have a similar kind of texture and feel, but obviously, like she said, when you apply them you leave a little bit of a residue because it has a sort of dimethicone feel and it probably creates a wonderful little layer. of extra moisture for her and if you don't like the way I do my skincare then just don't do it that way.
This is weird and this is definitely going to trigger some people, but I have a high frequency machine, my facialist. He uses it on me a lot, it kills bacteria, it's something that I really love, I even love the smell of it and on a night like tonight I just want to detect it, yeah, so this is super cool and for people who get this from it. It is one of the treatments that is performed in the office and that you can do at home. This high frequency machine is also called Tesla current or Tesla machine and is really good for blemishes because it basically shoots

electric

ity into the skin.
My favorite treatment. Using the Tesla wand or high frequency machine is for acne because it has been shown to help kill the bacteria that live inside the skin. Basically, there is a big glass probe and you can actually change the probes and have different shapes if you want. the scalp if you want to do the face etc. and there is gas specifically argon or neon gas inside the probes and this

electric

ity is conducted through that and then delivered to the skin. It can also help the products penetrate the skin more deeply and maybe a little. collagen stimulation and again it is recommended that you have a license to use it, but this is one of those treatments that at home is very difficult to mess up and as long as you understand your pain tolerance and are taking care of your skin responsibly, like you.
She said it is a very good way to do a facial at home, not all devices are created equal. I've seen a lot of really scam ones on Amazon, but like Facebook ads, I don't recommend them, there are some that are actually calibrated correctly. It would be used in a professional clinic, um, and if you try to get the same results at home, if you buy one of those bad ones, you won't hurt yourself, I don't think, unless you like short circuiting your face, but I would definitely I would make sure to choose a reputable brand because if you are going to spend money on something you want it to at least work and I don't know what brand is here, but if someone recognizes it, let it. in these comments so we can check it, you can do it in different ways.
My facials in Vancouver like to put serum on my face. My facial sunlight likes to cover it with gauze when I get it done. I have one of these. Amazon once and it literally surprised me when I bought it I don't recommend it so it's okay I guess you got a bad one that surprised you um and again it's a high frequency so it's electricity it's a shock um so I guess maybe you should have a license, but I don't think it's illegal to not have a license and do this because you're not cutting the skin or trying to re-suture, you know, an avulsion, the serum and the gauze are both.
Good ideas again as long as it conducts that electricity and I think when you use them you're supposed to have a layer of something like a mask or gauze over your skin just to protect the skin a little bit more and again you want that. product to be penetrated even deeper than normal, so it's doing a great job, but the only thing you notice is that he has his hand on top - the electricity and current could be going to his face, but they could also be flowing on your fingers and again your body can also act as a conductive system because your body can conduct electricity and to prevent you from electrocuting yourself or someone else you are supposed to have your finger on the glass and then release it once you do contact with skin or hair or anywhere else, but you're supposed to leave it that way, maybe she can find a piece of gauze that fits or a different probe that's a better shape or just do it on a sheet . mask um she's probably not getting all the benefits, but it's probably helping her not go shopping so that's always good.
I love this little machine. I have one in Los Angeles and one in Vancouver. I love the smell of high frequency. I love it. she says this I'm super weird but I totally agree it doesn't smell like burnt hair but it smells like something I can't describe but it almost smells metallic and I really love it I don't know how to describe it anyone but I'm so glad I'm not the only one who normally He breaks out on his chin and forehead so I really focus the high frequency on those areas anyway, I don't know what I'm talking about so I'm just rambling on about skin stuff How are you?
Did you have a good week this week? Are you happy? Are you finding ways to stay sane through all the changes the world has gone through? Skincare is self-care and when I do my skincare. The routine is almost meditative or extraordinarily relaxing for me and it's a good time to check in with yourself. I have good news about some medical tests for me. I have good news on the work front, so yes, I'm having a good week. Thanks for asking, I appreciate we're going to get into my peel now when I started the program I was terrified of peels.
I tried René Rolo's Triple Berry Smoothing Scrub. This is not sponsored in any way. I really love this type of look. just smearing a bunch of blood all over my face. In the thumbnail I thought this was your average aha bha exfoliating solution, but again she loves Renee Burlo, let's see what's in this and see what it is, triple berry smoothing peel, oh you know what? this is more expensive but it actually looks like an exfoliating solution 2.0 look at these ingredients the common thing is like aha and bha but this has mandelic acid this has lactic this has salicylic tartaric and malic so a wide variety of acids aha and tu bha we have extract of blueberry with anthocyanins excellent, they also give a lot of color to fruits, plants, flowers and things, we have raspberry fruit, excellent pomegranate extract, excellent bromine, strawberry fruit, wow, so when we look at this it looks like a hydrating mask, the first ingredient is actually raspberry fruit which they've obviously preserved in a very good way, we have glycerin and water, so the reason it probably looks like clotted blood is because it's probably literally raspberry puree, we have orange, we have fermented filtrate of radish root which acts as a preservative in this, oh we have grape, the only thing is that at the bottom there is a little bit of red tangerine oil, um, which might be a little irritating for some people, as well as peel oil of grapefruit, but other than that, you're fine. with those two scented ingredients this looks really great, I know it's more expensive but I feel like this one would have a different texture, it seems softening, it says it's the best chemical peel to use at home to dramatically soften visible skin damage, remove brown stains and clogs. pores I wish I knew the exact percentage of ahas and bhas um, but

madelaine

, I think you just made me add to my cart.
In fact, I'm going to click. I have this little app called shop tagger that tells me when things go on sale, so I just added it to my list oh my gosh, oh my gosh, I'm excited about this one. I usually just get my T zone. Oh well, my battery is dying. Well, I'm going to leave this on for 10 minutes anyway, so I hope I don't have a -Dead battery I love face masks I love chemical peels as they are so much fun that you need to do a patch test and tread carefully. But it's like my favorite part of a routine.
I feel so elegant when I wear them, I don't know. I love it and she looks great in one too. I don't know, I like it to look like I got blood all over my face. Why not? Why not? Well, while we let this just open up those pores and draw out all that nasty gunk. my week has given me, I love scrubbing my lips and if any of you have seen my fashion video, which I'll link above, I have a little lip scrub that I left in Los Angeles and I'm really sad about it, nurse.
Jamie, it's the best thing on the planet, but when I don't have that I use the lush lip scrub, this one is cherry flavored, surprise, surprise, you can eat it, it's just sugar. I know the feeling of those lush scrubs I've eaten. I think I went on Instagram about eating those, yeah, life before Kovid, right, it was during New York fashion week, I met him, it was like Santa's scrub too, it was like a vacation, the life of a man before Kovid right, another thing I love is body lotion, sometimes I have keratosis. polaris, which are those little bumps on the back of your arms, I feel like it's incredibly common, but it might be gone because I actually use this white head energy liquid that I bought at ulta, I think it makes me incredibly insecure as a kid.
If I really want to make a mistake put it directly on your arms like I did the first time I used it and my arms were bright red for a week and a half which is almost worse then you are just drawing attention to it. I'm so happy you mentioned this kp or keratosis polaris is definitely a normal condition, it happens here, but it can also occur in other areas of the body, like the legs, and basically it's the hair follicles creating too much keratin, that's it. protein that makes up our hair and our skin and it creates too much in the follicle and it doesn't exfoliate so it's not goosebumps but it seems like you always have goosebumps and she's absolutely right the best thing you can do .
What I can do is use an exfoliant like salicylic acid, this one she's using is aha, it's the cos rx seven white dot energy liquid. This is excellent. I feel thatyou could get it cheaper on Wishtrend or Style Vanna or yes, Style, but it is. here at ulta we start with apple water, we have glycolic acid, which is, aha, we have niacinamide, sodium hydroxide, sodium hylauronate, hexanediol, all very good, this is a great product, it's basically an acne tonic, but literally any acne toner, Paula's bha toning liquid of choice. The solution would be great here, anything with salicylic acid is really going to help and I'm really happy that she found something that works for her and I still have like five minutes left of my mask so I'm going to do my legs and lastly . while this is on I'm going to put some lip oil on my eyelid.
It's so relaxing to see another person relax. I don't know, I love it, let's chat. I'm sure you noticed that I took a pretty big license from YouTube during quarantine. I actually just recently came back with my quarantine morning routine video in Vancouver, I edit everything myself so if I know I have a lot on my plate, where was I going with this? I'm surprised she can do all this editing. Her editing alone is really good, it's sassy, it's fun, it's cute, I can relate and appreciate it, but let me tell you that each finished minute of video takes about an hour in pre-production, from sitting down to film to creating the graphics you see. on the screen to make sure I cite my sources and different ingredient lists in the bottom tab to edit it, upload it and cut it six different times and yes, it is a labor of love, but you know what I don't suffer from. addiction, I enjoy every second, oh yeah, I found my train of thought, so if I know I have a lot on my plate and I don't have time to add to it, I usually don't record a video, but I also feel like breaks are important.
She has become a brat. Well, my 10 minutes are up. I'm going to take this off. Let's do some more things on my face. I actually had a great week. I feel like this weekend. I've been tired. I woke up around noon today. Everything, we will do the next day. What is the next step? This is the quick response detoxifying mask. I love this and it feels so good. In fact, sometimes I put it in the refrigerator. For an extra touch, I love to refrigerate or even warm my skincare. Sometimes it gives you such a sensory experience, whether it's a normal refrigerator in the kitchen, do you have to go upstairs to go get it or is it just the skin care refrigerator that you keep in your bathroom? or next to your bed, um, it's definitely something fun if you haven't tried it. 10 out of 10 I would do it again.
I highly recommend it if you do. I'm going to leave this post because I normally do 20 minutes, but today I'm only doing 10 minutes, so this face mask again from Renee Rolo is definitely pricey at $65, but I love it, it looks like it's actually made for acne. She says sensitive skin eliminates hormonal blemishes and René Berlow has some of the best products for acne. Cystic acne that is sold over the counter and is a bit luxurious. I would call this line prestige, not luxury, but I like a lot of their stuff and if you have the money for it, it's really good.
Specifically it has tea tree oil, which we know can be antibacterial. and antimicrobial and we have a two percent salicylic acid complex. We have amazing Alan Toen for anti-inflammatory purposes. Sodium hyaluronate, which is hyaluronic acid, retains water and brings it closer to the skin, especially since this product is formulated correctly. We do it too. we've got a little raspberry, we've got a little blackcurrant oil, this looks really good, we've also got glycerin, so it's like that light light color and very hydrating. I'm happy it works for her and I'm adding it again. to my little list of when it goes on sale, please tell me so I can then spend my money on it, but save like, hopefully, 20, you know what I hate, I hate that feeling of, I hate that, I also hate that feeling when You've got a mask in your hair anyway, if you don't shoot YouTube videos, you don't know wrestling, there's rain dripping outside, planes in the sky, there's a sasquatch above, um, there's like fucking ambulances and cars passing by everything time, you have no idea.
How long do YouTubers just sit in their chairs or like me on the floor waiting for the external noise to calm down? It's so problematic to have a cat meow at you because he wants to play and is outside the door begging to let you in when you have a mask on and your hair is stuck together. I'm going to put this night serum on my hair. I put in a lot. Leaves my hair so soft. I'm going to hold on. like five minutes rub it in you know you're supposed to do this but it feels good i worked with aveda about a year ago their scents are so beautiful this is one of their aromatic body oils and i love this scent she's not i'm going to say it, But I will and on nights like this, oh, I'm Serena too.
I wanted to talk about this and she never finished that line of thought. I think it's so important to keep in mind that skincare is self-care and again, the sensory experience is so important, I know in January she was using doterra, which is not just a mlm, but like, oh my gosh, essential oil on your face like please no it almost killed me inside and again we haven't gotten all the Throughout the video but I'm so glad she hasn't yet and Aveda is a line amazing, they formulate well, a great way to get a nice scent to relax, take care of your skin, you know, but not destroy your epidermis, mommy, I just received. a haircut and you're not even showing the world my look say hello hello I'm the most annoying mom in the world what a wild Saturday night the busier I am the more I appreciate my weekends anyway this little friend here was going to be a cystic pimple but I found it real quick and started using my little pimple patches that I'm using in videos and trying to cover them up but you'll probably notice this is my favorite thing on the planet so I have a couple different types that I like them. they are the peter thomas roth they are clear they are great these iceland skin blemish spots worked well they are the same thing they work well too i used to use them exclusively but now they are very hard to get so i love the peter thomas roth. also and then I also found the ones from cosrx and these are like hydrocolloid hydrocolloid hydrocolloid patches.
I haven't had as much success with these. I know they're supposed to actually draw out the pus inside your pimple, but it's something I love. when i want to do my full skincare routine but have yet to see people like go out into the world, i went to dinner with skeet last night and used one of these, they are so cute they are like these little flowers. and they are still pimple patches, they still work incredibly well and then I put them on top. He's so cute I saw what his name was. Was it Barbara who also used these little flowers like Madeline said many of these pimple patches are very similar? some of my favorites again most are hydrocoil patches cosrx is good curology is good pacifica even has an acne warrior one now um hero cosmetics is great one of my favorites is zitstica and that's a little different because they actually have micro darts like little tiny ones not needles, but type of needles that actually pierce the grain and dissolve inside the grain and can help eliminate bacteria.
Those are my favorites. I live for it, but any of these pimple patches generally work pretty similarly, I bet they have different ones. active ingredients, I'm so happy you found such cute ones and you know what if she and Barbara recommend the little flower ones, I might have to buy some of the little flower ones, I'm sure some of you will tell me that? I got too good on my face, but I felt like it tonight. This is the active serum from ios Clinical. Many people have told me to use this. I saw Cami do this once on a plane and now she sits down. more legit when I do it like this she mentioned this is clinical or is it a clinical serum unfortunately I don't know what serum she's talking about there is a c15 serum there is a fresh hydra serum there is a general vitamin serum this brand is a good brand um it's a little Expensive but worth it more lip oil this is the gift that keeps on giving it feels like it's going to be full forever let's use the skin correcting serum I alternate different serums as long as I want to find out which one the product is, Does anyone know?
Can anyone tell me? Does anyone recognize it? Skin recovery lotion also from Renee. This is a cool moisturizing lotion. It is technically oil-free and says it is made for sensitive skin. molecule here we have sodium hyaluronate we have panthenol all very good stuff the only thing is it said oil free but we have orange peel oil and citrus or grapefruit oil these are probably used for aroma so no big deal , but if. not totally oil free um I like the ingredients in this it's good it's just not my first choice we have a heteroway excellent subtle we have glycerin we have propane dial all the very good stuff we have xylitol which is good um yeah, it's halfway decent, It's just that for my skin I wouldn't spend my money on it, but I'm very happy that it works for it.
I know eye cream is more of a personal preference and not a necessity for your life in any way. way, but I just like it, I'm so happy that she knows this and isn't scammed by the marketing of companies that try to get her to spend money and that she knows what she likes and what her skin needs and still decides to do it. wear one because she makes her life better, finally a smart, empowered consumer who does it right. If you don't know why I hate eye creams and the marketing in the industry behind them, we filmed a video right here, I'll link that too. next look at this, but there are certain cases, like in your case, where if you understand these things and you still want to use an eye cream to apply makeup for self-care reasons or for a couple of other things, there are a reason to do it.
So if you want a different texture, we can do a video on that in the future, but I feel so relaxed, I feel so relieved, I haven't put anything on my skin and for some reason I feel freshly hydrated. um, for the knowledge and wisdom that comes from this woman's beautiful cherry-stained lips. Yes, this is what she needed today. I have a lot of little red marks on my face that are from previous breakouts. In fact, I have this great gel product that fades away. I don't know, but I put it all over my head. Does anyone know what fading gel is?
I want to know what it is if you have problems with hyperpigmentation, if you use something like alpha arbutin, if you use vitamin C, licorice, kojak root, all of those. It can be very helpful, hydroquinone, which you can get from your doctor, you know, but people who have these little dark marks that pimples leave behind, it can be frustrating, so I'm happy that I'm using something for that, but I I put it all over my forehead. Wow, I needed that and I'm so happy I got to do it with you, it made me feel like I had some friends with me which is really nice.
I think something really important that I can also attest to is that my skin drinks a ton of water huge water bottle look at it compared to my head I hope you enjoyed hanging out with me it was actually a lot of fun just relaxing and scaring your skin they realize? I'm excited for October um oh halloween I love Halloween. Wow, please go back to normal, that's all my epidermis covered in lotion and beauty products that I probably don't need and shouldn't mix, but do it anyway. It was fun. We should do it again sometime. Goodbye, I mean.
I checked in at the beginning of the week and yes, it's been good, but I feel like this made it so much better. I feel relaxed. It didn't do anything to my skin, but it felt like I just put on a mask or something um I needed this and I sincerely hope that Madeline decides to do this again and we can do it again um and I'm so happy that she's so intellectual and also I'm very happy that you use a high frequency machine because I haven't seen it, I haven't reacted to anyone else who has and it gives us a chance to chat about it so if anyone can help me locate the other products that uses, leave them in the comments below so I can do a little research and reviewed those ingredient lists, but overall it was a perfect routine, perfect self-care, perfect fun, and a really good testament to doing things that make you feel great and you know that each person's skin care is unique for different reasons.
I'm really happy that my philosophies tend to align with hers uh yeah anyway I love you guys so much if you want to see me react to her initial video where I found out about her existence you can watch it right here and if you want more . information about those little flower dots here is the reaction to a model who also uses them along with a 400 cream always remember to be beautiful both inside and out make sure you hit the like button and make sure you are subscribed and i can'twait to see you in the next video I love you bye
