Mar 30, 2024
Thank you for joining us on New Shepard's sixth human flight. Today's astronaut crew is safe in their seats, awaiting their launch into

space

. In seat number four is Coby Cotton. Flight vector. New Shepard is ready for launch. T-minus 5, 4-- command --2, 1. We're on a rocket! This is the launch site we'll be heading to here. Yesterday I showed up here at the Blue Origin headquarters. I got out of the car and sure enough, they were testing a rocket engine. Oh ho! Wow. That makes me feel like I'm going to

space

. Dude Perfect's model rocket series has become a staple.

We've done three of them now. In the first one, they started with a fairly small rocket model: normal size. Then on number two, they got a little bigger. 1! Oh! The third, giant. And thanks to a very generous opportunity from MoonDAO, the first place, we get the prize of a lifetime. And the winner

goes

to space. Come on! Take me to space! The person who

goes

to space... Coby Cotton. No way! Dude Perfect was selected by the MoonDAO community with its governance token, Mooney, to be the first MoonDAO members to send to space. For a guy who isn't known for winning many battles, I still can't believe this one turned out the way she wanted.

More Interesting Facts About,

dude perfect goes to space...

I am very excited to be here at Blue Origin. We don't fire model rockets anymore, people. This is the real deal! Okay guys, training day. The most important thing we do is a real simulation. So they have this mock version of our capsule. In fact, we go over everything as if it were on the mission. Everything shakes, vibrates, makes noises. We see all the material in the readings. We've done it a couple of times. We'll do it a couple more today. And I think we should be ready. Well, as I expected, all the training the guys did for me was a complete waste of time.

This is TT to Space Command. XLS 1500 preparing for takeoff. Everything clear? Oh! Oh Lord! That's humming. I can't breathe! Oh! Oh! He put me in an astronaut suit, took me to the state fair, and then walked me through the museum. The next thing I know, the kids are asking me space trivia. The only way you can leave is if you say the planets in order. Yes. (Whispers) Mercury. Oh, I was going to say Mars. --and she finished it off with a little diving test-- Fix it! --straight out of a Matt Damon movie. In that one, I actually felt pretty good.

I feel pretty good. The tests and training here were good. And like I said, as long as I don't have to go back and do the training you guys put me through, I feel pretty good about it. To me, one of the most interesting things about this is that there is no pilot on board. It's just me and five strangers from around the world. This is the squad. You just meet these people and say, man, we're about to share a great experience. As you can imagine, we were all scared when we first saw the rocket. This is driving me crazy right now.
This is the piece of the rocket that goes up until you see the circle. The top piece is the capsule. That's where we are. Let's talk about how this all really works. The engines ignite and the rocket leaves the launch pad into space. We will reach speeds of more than 2,000 miles per hour as we move toward what they call the Kármán line, the internationally recognized space boundary. Once there, we separated from the booster and experienced zero gravity. As we float, the booster returns to Earth and lands on its own. Remember, there is no pilot.
Then we return to our seats, re-enter the atmosphere. The parachutes deploy and we become astronauts, a piece of cake. Tomorrow morning, at 8:30 a.m., I will be there. And then... That's exactly what it's going to sound like. I believe in destiny? Well, let me tell you this: Dude Perfect, by itself, makes no sense. It really isn't like that. If, as five college kids, we set out to start this really dumb gimmick business and it became what it is today, I don't think I could really justify that in my own mind, that that was going to happen. make sense.
We have always said, and I firmly believe, that God had a bigger plan for this than we had. And we were just following the path. At the end of the day, whether someone else believes it's fate, or I believe it's the hand of God at work, I firmly believe that there was much more at stake and in the cards for Dude Perfect than we ever planned or could . something forced to happen. I can't believe the day has finally come. It's early and bright. I haven't seen the guys in a few days, so I'm about to say hello and head into space.
What's up, Astro? What's happening? How do you feel? Honestly, very good. We've done a lot of training. Feel very good about it. At this point, it seems like a roller coaster. Maybe a little too casual at the moment. Have fun in space. Thanks sirs. Bye bye. Bye bye. I love you. I love you too. I'm not sure Coby can be any more prepared than he is right now. Booster? Go. Ground? Go. We're doing this. CAPCOM? Go. Copy. Everything goes. Yeah! Yeah! See you Coby! Thank you for joining us on New Shepard's sixth human flight. We are building the path to space one launch at a time.
Tower, seven, flight, you attempted the astronaut load. In seat number four is Coby Cotton. Coby is one of five co-founders of the Dude Perfect YouTube channel. I think I told you before that I was pretty nervous before agreeing to the whole deal. But I'm so ready to go up. Ladies and gentlemen, we are on a rocket! I think the nerves are probably starting to calm down at this point. I don't see how they couldn't. Astronaut Coby? Blue control, you got me loud and clear. I can not wait. I'm going to do my best just to have fun.
Because I think you could go into this being scared the whole time and worried about things that could go wrong, or just have fun and try to experience every second of the 12-minute experience, you know? So that will be my goal. New Shepard is fueled, on the platform, and ready to go to space. Flight director, New Shepard is ready for takeoff. The booster begins the terminal countdown. They just said that New Shepard is ready for launch. They literally just acquitted him. I'm nervous because he's my brother. But God has it. It's going to be sweet. So Cobes, fly.
T-minus 30 seconds. Oh... With only 30 seconds left until today's launch, it's time to hand it over to mission control and launch this rocket. T-minus 10... Oh my god, guys. --9, 8-- Come on, honey. --7-- Here we go. Let's go baby. --5, 4, 3, 2, 1. The engines start. Light the candle! We're on a rocket! No way. Oh my God. No way. Is it really in there? This is crazy! No way. This is not happening. This is not a real thing that is happening. See you, Cobester. The BE-3 has once again had 110,000 pounds of thrust propelling New Shepard and its crew into space.
Oh my god, that's brilliant. 70,000 feet. Oh, you can feel it on your neck. A much more direct launch than our previous rockets. We need to obtain their technology. Y'all, he's literally about to see the planet. We're going 2,000 miles per hour! Look at the color there. Guys... Ooh. Wow. OK. Okay, we're fine. Loosen, loosen. Oh...oh my God! Oh! Oh... Guys, we're floating! We are floating. Alright. Thank you! Yeah! Guys, we're doing it! Oh Lord. OK! Guys...oh my god. Hey! Good for Cobes, friend. It's crazy. Oh my word. I'm just wandering around. Clint... Look at that sky! --Oliver.
Alright, now let's take it in, guys. Look, look, look. Do you see the curvature of the Earth? Oh... Congratulations to the six crew members of the Titanium Feather. They have just officially become astronauts. Both the crew capsule and booster are descending and entering the atmosphere. Oh. Oh! What's that? Oh! That's the reinforcement. Here it comes. It's about to explode sonically. Oh! Oh me! There it is... engine ignition. The engine relay is approaching for landing. Incredible! No way! Reinforcement landing. That thing landed

perfect

ly! Wow! Prepare for maximum G forces on re-entry. Oh, wow. Oh my. Oh, my face.
There we have a great shot of the crew capsule returning. Oh, we have a capsule! Oh, it's falling fast. They're on it! Are they back in their seats? Well I hope so. Is anyone else sweating? Yes. Yes. We are down in the mountains. Please slow down. The parachutes are out! That was Coby. Of course you can listen to Coby. Our poor families... I'm sweating profusely. "I'm sweating profusely." Okay, guys, we're at 500 feet. Look at the parachutes. Well, let's get to work. Landing, Titanium Feather. Yeah! Come on! That was crazy. Good job team. We went to space!
That was absolutely crazy. And then all of a sudden it really is... it's just black. Just this
