DOLLAR TREE Christmas DIYS you SHOULD be trying 2022 *NEW*

What's up family, welcome back to my channel? So today's video is all about Dollar Tree Christmas DIYs. I know it's a little early, but it takes time to do so I hope this gives you some time to do it or some inspiration if you're looking. some new pieces for your holiday decor or a new theme, let me know in the comments below the weather near you, has it gotten cooler? I asked this question in my fall video and for me, in this area that I live in, we were in the '70s and I was getting excited thinking, oh, we're better attempts, no, we're in the mid-'80s, now let me know the weather near you in the comments, I'll see you now, let's get started next time you're at Dollar Tree.

Grab some fluted punch bowls and bowls, they have them in lots of different colors. I'm going to use red for this particular project. What I'm going to do is glue two punch bowls together using some e6000. and then some hot glue. I use hot glue because it dries quickly and I want to move on, but the e6000 does a very good job of holding everything together, then I glued the fluted bowls to what would be the bottom of the punch bowl. I also did this with some clear bowls, but I glued them first. a punch bowl and a fluted bowl together and then I make a hole.

You must be slow and steady with your drill. If you go too fast, you will break the plastic once. I have the hole that I glue on the other side of this and then I'm going to string some fairy lights through the hole. I bought these fairy lights from Amazon. I like them because you can turn them all on at once with a remote control. You can get fairy lights at Dollar Tree but you have to light them all up individually so I'll link them below for you guys and what we made is some giant candy and the best part is you can use them outside it's so cool. and cheap to make, you can make it really cheap if you don't turn on the fairy lights, it's completely up to you, but this is an awesome idea for the Christmas season, this is awesome guys, next time you're at Dollar Tree, check out the party. supply section look for your hats especially the glitter hats, what you are going to do is simply cut out the bottom of the hat so that many of the hats have a black line running through them or a silver line. to get rid of that you may be able to find these hats that have a little happy birthday piece that slides on and then you can trim the bottom back out.

What you're doing is making some giant gummies, you can place them. all individually somewhere inside your house or you can glue a few together, so I decided to glue six of them together to create a larger unit that is easier to move. You can see here. I can grab this with one hand and go. It's cool, guys, because all it's about is cutting a hat off the

dollar

tree

. I love how this looks, especially since you guys know me. I love that whole sweet little fake look, so this DIY you see me doing here actually happened.

By the summer, when I finished making it, I thought, "You know what this looks like a snowman," so what you do is you glue six punch bowls together, you just stack one bowl on top of the other and you can use clamps to hold them together. in place while you wait for the glue to dry. Once the glue dries, you can paint the bowls. You can use any type of paint you want. I'm using spray paint just because it's quicker to use and I prefer to use it. Now I used my cricut to cut out some vinyl pieces that I'm using for my snowmen's faces as well as the cool buttons and arms.

Now you don't need a cricut for this, you can always use paint if you want. this outside, I recommend using exterior paint, I placed the hat on one of the snowmen and this is how you make some snowmen with punch bowls from Dollar Tree, guys this is very easy and it's great if you want to give it a try I weigh this a little. A little bit, just add some stones or something to the bottom bowl before gluing everything together and that would be especially helpful if you're going to put this outside for our next DIY.

I'm going to use these candy jars from Dollar Tree. I'm not going to use the lid and I'm going to paint them now. You'll need to apply at least two coats of paint to get an opaque look, so you'll do the first coat, let it dry, and then go in with your paint to paint the second coat once the paint is dry on one side, so I'm doing, I call it a doll face, it just reminds me of those crash dolls, it's a very basic face, you have some circular eyes and easy smile and then a circular nose with some circular cheeks, so I'm just using black and red paints for this.

Dollar Tree now carries these jars in several sizes. I'm going to use the biggest one they have for this and I'm going to paint this red again. You will need to apply at least two coats of paint to get a dull look. Once I have it, I'll start painting features of this. Basically this will be a toy soldier. I'm going to have a black belt on this, I made a white x and then I made some gold belts, so do whatever you want. I'm just going for that classic toy soldier look and here's what I mean, you don't always need a cricut.

It's good because it's very easy to use, everything comes out perfect, whereas using your hand you know that many times you will have imperfections, you won't get the straightest line in all of that, but you know what you're doing. I don't always need a cricut, there are other options available if you don't want one for the arms. I'm going to use some pool noodles from Dollar Tree. I cut them out and then painted them that ruby ​​color because I wanted it to match the rest of the toy soldier and then for the arms I'm going to use some Styrofoam balls.

The

has Styrofoam balls. These are six times 4.49 and are the size of the largest balls that the dollar tree tends to carry. What I like about these is that it's a soft foam, so it's easier to paint if you use the dollar tree foam. It's not as smooth, so it's not as easy to paint because it absorbs a lot of paint. Now is the time to stock up on Dollar planters. I'm going to use the smallest ones they carry for this project. I bought a blue one that I wanted to be more of a denim blue color, so I went ahead and painted it once it dried, then glued on my boat. the inside of this flower pot, so the flower pot is supposed to be the legs of the toy soldier and then the pot is the body, then I glue the candy jar, obviously this is the head and on top of it I glue a black flower pot. turn it upside down and glue it to the candy jar, just touch it on the sides so that's the only area where you can put glue on the sides.

I glued on the pool noodles, which are obviously the arms, and then the Styrofoam balls that are. They are supposed to be the hands. I painted a little more on this, but here's how I made some toy soldiers using products from Dollar Tree. I don't know if you guys remember the ones from the '90s that you would find at Walmart, that's really it. It's hard to find now and they are expensive. This turned out really great, it was inexpensive to make and I have several styrofoam balls and crumbled noodles to use for others. I made a rose gold one and I'll link it below for you.

Guys, my tic toc because that one is going to go up to my tic toc account. I decided to make a bigger toy soldier, so I painted a canister black and put it on top of a flower pot, but I ended up getting rid of the flower pot and then. On top of the black one I glue three red boats. I recommend weighing the bottom pot. You can use stones from the dollar tree. You can use stones around your house. You can use something else if you don't weigh it. It is very easy to dump. On the dollar tree he carries two candy jars of different sizes.

I'm using the largest one for this and this one rotates in the container so I didn't put the lid back on the container, instead I rotated that jar and then I'm going to put a pot on top of this one and this pot is more large from Dollar Tree, it's more of a medium size for what Dollar Tree carries, but it's bigger than the one I used before, that's how I made this giant toy soldier. I'm so proud of how these turned out that I love them and I actually want to do another tutorial using them, but make them so they can be used outside so stay tuned for that tutorial last year.

I showed you how to make some faux cakes for the holiday season. We'll do that again, but a little differently. You'll pick up some cylinder-shaped boxes from Dollar Tree. You will find this in the party section and I recommend purchasing at least two different sizes. You will also buy. Some felt I bought this glitter one from the hobby lobby, so what you're going to do is cut out some pieces that will go around the sides of your box. You will do this for both pieces and then glue that felt to your box. You will most likely need two different pieces of felt to go around the entire box, which is why you will have these strange lines.

I recommend keeping that part towards the back of your cake. Also trace the bottom of the boxes on a piece of felt. Felt and cut those pieces, then glue them to your box, so I made the first box and once I finished the first box, which is the largest, I glued the smaller box on top of the larger one and then glued my felt. I'm going to use some non-Dollar Tree pieces. I bought them at Hobby Lobby. You can find them right now for fifty percent off, so I bought these lollipops and they cost me seven dollars and fifty cents.

I'm going to put two of these. on the top of my cake, so to do that I use a knife to slowly make a hole that you don't want to push it through right away because it can ruin the box, so make that hole slowly, then place your popsicle through the hole and then I use a little hot glue to hold it in place. I did this like I said with two different palettes. I'm going to make some frosting to make this. I'm using some glitter and paint. I pour both into a pastry bag. which I got from Dollar Tree and I like to make about 75 mod podge to 25 paint and before I cut out the piping bag, I go ahead and mix it up by just kneading the bag, then I cut the piping bag and cut a very small hole and it starts to To create that frosting look, cut a small hole, that's what I recommend, especially when you make the drips, if you make it too big you're going to get it to turn into a big mess, so I start with the drips and then add a lot of frosting to the top of each layer of what is obviously supposed to be cake.

I bought these fake mints from the hobby lobby, they're six for a dollar and fifty cents on sale and I'm going to be Gluing some of those to the cake, I also bought some sprinkles, so these fake sprinkles are from Michaels. I bought them on sale last year and paid about two dollars for them. They get them every year, especially during the Christmas season. Actually, it's called special glitter. Anyway, I went ahead and put some of that on top of the frosting. I bought this mint popsicle stick from hobby lobby and I'm going to stick it on the top of my cake.

You can always make these pieces if you want. I went to the hobby lobby because it's the only place right now that sells Christmas, but I'm sure when Dollar Tree starts showing up in their Christmas items, you'll be able to find some mint selections that are very similar. The hobby lobby also has these mints. They get them every year this year, again they were on sale two dollars for one and I just cut out the pieces and glued some of them to this cake, so have fun with this, you can go to the hobby lobby or another craft.

Stock up and find a bunch of different pieces that you can use on top of the dollar tree boxes to make some really cute cakes. The last thing I did was glue some small pom poms to the bottom of my cake. I love the way it turned out. This is my favorite cake I've ever made and I can't wait to make more this holiday season and share them with you. I always try to make them in different and unique ways, whether it's just using putty or foam felt. I'm just

to think of new ways to share with you how to make it happen to find things that fit you and your budget.

You will need a foam board for this next DIY hobby. The lobby has these giant paddles, now this bigger one. sells for about nine dollars, so the medium size on sale is about seven dollars and fifty cents, so I'm going to share with you how you can make a bunch for cheap, so you're going to grab your foam board and I'm going to lay out a circle on top of the foam board since I have one of these paddles. I'm using this as my guide, but honestly you can use anything, so I made four larger circles and then made some smaller circles that I decided to take advantage of. all the foam board I have once I've traced it, then I go ahead and grab a box cutter.

You can use any type of knife you want to cut the foam circles. I can get four large circles with a piece of foam. board, I'm also going to use this glitter foam that I bought at Hobby lobby. I'm going to draw the biggest circle on the foam andthen cut that circle out, so when I make my popsicle I'm going to glue two of the foam circles together to get a thicker piece and then on top of that I glue my glitter foam and just put it on the front of the popsicle, no at the rear.

Now I bought this chunky yarn at Hobby lobby with a discount of 30 and I recommend it. go to a craft store when you make projects like this instead of buying the yarn from Dollar Tree because if you buy it from Dollar Tree you will have to get a lot of yarn and you will end up spending more on dollar tree instead of going somewhere else and taking it there , so what I'm doing is gluing the thread around my circle, so basically I'm just making a swirl design for a swirl lollipop, have fun with your lollipops, you don't have to do exactly what I'm doing, just use the foam as a base and then do whatever you want.

I bought this glitter vase filler from Dollar. tree I decided to use them as sprinkles, I just put them around and then glued them on for my popsicle stick. I bought these wooden dolls for 79 cents at Hobby lobby. I will glue them to the back of my popsicles and then I painted the stick white. I did cut the sticks up though so I had larger pieces but I also had some smaller pieces that I cut off a dowel so I could use the smaller ones for the smaller lollipops I made and then I got some ribbon too from lobby hobbies and I'm just going to wrap it around the peg to give it a mint look.

You can always get the tape from the Dollar Tree again. You'll get more for your money by going elsewhere, but when the Dollar Tree has the Christmas stuff, they have some. Really nice things. I also bought this velvet look ribbon from Dollar Tree that I used to create a bow that I glued to the popsicle, like I said I had cut smaller circles so I'm making smaller popsicles and these will actually go inside. my Christmas tree and it's exactly the same except I didn't make two pieces of foam to make the popsicle thicker. I only made one piece.

I spent about 25 on materials for these paddles and with two pieces of foam board and four wooden dowels. I was able to make four giant lollipops and eight smaller ones and I have a bunch of chunky yarn left over that I'm going to use in another project, so by making them myself I save a lot more money than buying them at Hobby Lobby, even if they're on sale. It's cheaper to make them yourself, we have extra thread, so let's use it to make cupcakes again. I'm going to use those round containers from Dollar Tree and I'm going to trace them on that red glitter foam, but I won't trace where. the lid is, I keep the lid on and trace right underneath it, then I glue that piece to the box and then I glue the lid back on top of the box.

Now I'm going to start gluing the thread and this will be the frosting for our cupcake. I'm also going to glue a Styrofoam ball in the center of this so I don't waste too much thread. It's easy to make and you don't even have to use a Styrofoam ball. You can use whatever you have on hand, if your child has a lot of balls to play with you can go ahead and use one of those. It's nice to put something in there so you don't end up using a ton of thread

to get the look that it has. you're looking for, then you just roll this until you get the frosting look you like.

I bought some fake cherries from Amazon. I'll link them below. I'm going to use this for the top of the cupcakes. I'm just sticking it now for your sprinkles. You can use vase filler from Dollar Tree if you want, it's super easy, just glue them together and then for the frosting on top of the frosting, I'll use puff pastry paint. Now puff pastry paint. when you put it on initially it looks amazing but when it dries it doesn't necessarily look the same so keep in mind this is how I made one using mostly Dollar Tree products except the thread and cherry I decided to make others. the ones that use puff paint again, the vase filler from Dollar Tree, as well as that special mint glitter sparkle that I got from Michaels, which is essentially like fake sprinkles and then I also bought these fake lollipops, I'll link them below and I'll I also had to glue them to my cupcakes so I made some red and some green cupcakes and like I said these can be used inside your tree, if you want there to be a spike at the bottom of this you can always use the bamboo.

Dollar tree skewers create a hole in the bottom of your container and then push these skewers in and then use glue to stick them in place. This is how I made these cupcakes that will be perfect for a Christmas tree, so let me show you one. more DIY so you can then combine the lollipop cupcakes and this DIY inside a Christmas tree for Hobby lobby to carry these candy photos, they are 4.99 and half off 2.50, but we can make a bunch of these for very little money, you can use polystyrene balls or any other. ball that you have on hand and then get some fabric.

I got this fabric on sale. I think it cost about four dollars and fifty cents at Hobby lobby at that sale price. I'm also going to use zip ties. You can use thread however you like. but zip ties are easy to make, especially when you do it yourself, so what you're going to do is cut the fabric into a bunch of pieces, either rectangular or square shaped, just pieces that you can wrap around whatever you're doing. using once you've cut those pieces of fabric put the styrofoam ball whatever is inside the fabric so just wrap it around and then tie the ends so I'm using zip ties it's easier.

To use this, I'm using red zip ties that I bought from Dollar Tree so they match really well with the fabric I'm using, but obviously you can use whatever you want. I don't actually wrap the whole ball. Keep the back with no fabric there, that way I can make a bunch of pieces with just one piece of fabric and I know the back won't be seen, so once I have it wrapped I cut the ends just to try I cleaned the fabric and then cut the zip tie, you can do this like I said with almost anything round, so I bought this ball from Dollar Tree in the kids section, I place it inside the fabric and do the exact same thing and I was able to make a Lots of these for very little money.

I already have the candy from Hobby Lobby. I bought them last year on clearance and then bought some this year after purchasing them. I thought, oh, I can make them myself and they. They are much cheaper to make yourself than to buy them, so now it's time to put the lollipops, cupcakes and all that stuff inside my Christmas tree. I wasn't actually trying to give it a mint look, it's just pretty much what ended up happening in this video. I just think it was the pieces I already had, they just went in that direction, so I put in my lollipops.

Honestly, they can go right into the tree unless your tree branches are very flimsy, but chances are they are. able to hold the lollipops, they are very light and the same with the cupcakes, I only put the fillet on one of the cupcakes and then the rest hang from the branches, you just put them in the perfect position, I had a bunch. of the fabric candies to place inside my tree as well and the only other items that I added that I didn't make myself were those peppermint lollipops that I bought at Hobby lobby and then I also put some decorations inside my tree, but Here's how I made this sweet Christmas tree and it's so much cheaper, like I said, to make the lollipops, cupcakes and wrapped candies yourself instead of buying them and then you can make them as big as you want on top of that.

I'm not sure if this is the theme I'm doing this Christmas, let me know if you like it in the comments. This is for a video, but I don't know if this is what I'm actually going to do during Christmas. Maybe, I really like it, but I'm undecided if I want to do this or I like a vintage theme, I don't know, for this next project, get some wooden boxes from Dollar Tree and paint them whatever color you want. I'm going with this Apple Barrel bright red paint and I bought it at Walmart. I paint the outside and inside of my box red, but you don't have to paint the inside if you don't want to and I'm going to paint three. boxes in total now one of the boxes I turn it over and paint the bottom of this and this is supposed to be the front of my train so make sure you paint that red now to make this box look more like a train where I'm going I'll be using this wooden block that I bought from the Dollar Tree and then this wooden cube.

I'm going to glue them both on top of the box that's flipped over and then I go ahead and paint it red too now for the On My Train wheels, I'm going to use the mint one that you saw me use before, but there are things you can buy at Dollar Tree, like you can get a toy car at Dollar Tree. Take off the wheels and use them. There are other options if not. I don't want to go to another store, however, like I said, I'll use the hobby lobby mint that I bought in a six-pack for a dollar and fifty cents.

I glued them on like the train wheels and then just paint stuff on this like I don't know, I was just doing whatever you do, do whatever suits your style. I was just using white paint to give it a mint look in certain areas. I glued a different mint from the hobby lobby. from that mint trim to the front of this and then like it was just a bunch of dots I was making stripes I don't know what I was doing I just like the way it looks I also glued on some of these mints now These were from etsy again .

I'll link the basement I use below. I get all my fake sprinkles from this basement as I hot glue them to my little train and this is supposed to be a hot chocolate bar. I made hot chocolate. bars before in the past using the boxes it's just a different way of doing it it's so cute you don't even have to use it just as a hot chocolate bar you can use it as decoration you can even use it to gift someone in a unique way I love how remained. I want to make more and you can always add them to the back of the cabin for our latest DIY.

I'm going to use the toy doll houses from Dollar Tree. to use 8 in total and I'm going to remove the roof from four of the houses and then I'm going to remove the white trim from each house. I'm going to leave the green door there and then the green windows that are on the roof, okay, so I cut a piece of foam board from the dollar tree and this will be the base of my house last year. I made a gingerbread house using these and I want to elevate them every year especially if I'm a bit doing something similar to the previous year so I noticed a lot of people were inspired by my gingerbread house last year so let me make something different, so this time we are doing more of a 3D house or not even 3D. more of a house than just the front of a house so I'm gluing these pieces to my foam board to have a good base so I have four pieces down there and then I'll do four on top and that's all I'm going to have the roof these pieces will actually connect if you want to do it that way but I decided to glue them together and by connect I mean they connect side by side not on top of each other one on top of the other you have to glue them together .

You will now have additional roofs left over from the houses below. I went ahead and placed two inside the house, then I glued two roofs on top of those two so that the four roofs that were from the lower houses I ended up using and what I'm trying to do is try to build a base there so I can glue some foam board on top to make this ceiling look more normal than this, so first, before I do any of that, I'm going to take this outside and I'm going to spray paint this. I'm just using a beige color and I'm just spray painting this to have a good base.

You can always use paint and acrylic paint, but you will need several. layers before you get the look you want and you have to get into every crevice with your little brush so it gets really annoying so I use the spray paint to get the base color I need and then go in with paint. that's more similar to a graham cracker and I don't really know a spray paint that looks like that on the back right away so I go ahead and go in with the acrylic paint but since I have that spray paint base color already a very good job for me where I only have to apply one coat of acrylic paint and I don't really have to get into every corner because if I miss a spot the spray paint catches it.

After I had that graham cracker look I just painted it on the bottom I'm going to fix the roof and to do this I'm using foam board so I cut a piece of foam board that I put on top of the roof and then I cut some pieces that are going to go in those spaces, so I just cut them at an angle and then glued them together to fill the spaces that are in the front near the ceiling. After doing this, I start placing the windows again. And with that trim I ended up removing the doors when I was painting this graham cracker look because I didn't want them to be that color.

Okay, it's really annoying to put these doors back on, so you'll have to glue them back on. It's a pain to put them back on once you put the roof on like you're out of luck so you have to glue them back onafter that. I painted the foam board a similar color to the ceiling. necessary, I don't really know, it's not like I know exactly what I'm doing when I'm doing this and then I realized after I covered this anyway, so I didn't have it figured out anyway what I'm going to do. Now I'm going to use putty.

I love using putty as faux icing and all you have to do is put the putty inside a piping bag with a icing tip, so I'm going to use this on top of my house dollar. The tree has putty on it but my favorite putty is the putty you can get at a hardware store and I love it because it's already mixed for me and I get more bang for my buck by going elsewhere than buying the dollar tree putty because I need a lot of it. of those little DIY things that I do, so it's easier for me to go somewhere else.

I'm going to use puff paint on this. Puff paint is really good for smaller details where you apply putty if you're trying to do something really small and detailed it just doesn't work so I'm going to use puffing paint or puffing puff to make a little design on top from the ceiling and then you know.wherever it says it fits, okay, that's all I'm going to say because it's a little hard to describe, just do it. I'm using those fake mint pieces from the hobby lobby for this, so I'll eventually end up using the mint too. pieces that are in that ornament, I'm just sharing with you exactly what I used, but obviously you don't have to use exactly what I used, so you may find fake sparkles, it's not a big selection in the hobby lobby and they're from the jewelry store.

So you will find this in the jewelry section. I found these little mint pieces, they are colorful, I put them on top and you will find them all year round, unlike the other ones I use for Michaels. where you only find them during the Christmas season maybe you can find them online all year round. I don't know, these peppermint sticks are from the same seller I'm using on etsy again. I'll link them below for you now. is what I mean by some of these DIYs, you will end up with a lot extra if you buy exactly what I bought, for example the thread and sprinkles, you will end up with a lot extra. that you can use in multiple projects so you can make several of the same DIYs or use them for other projects.
