Do These Cat Hacks Actually Work?

May 30, 2021
In today's video we're trying out some new tricks but this time it's for pets, what kind of tricks really

work

for cats and which ones don't guys meet Jack and Sally Jack Sally these are Callie's new babies babies , kids, I guess. They are the only children I will have. From the many children I have along with cats comes the care and ownership of cats and all that good stuff and sometimes it can seem a little overwhelming and I think you found where it's supposed to be done. There will be several tricks to owning a cat that should make it easier or are like toys or DIY tools, yes, and I think we're going to try them today.

Here's the basic idea, we have several different cat tricks we want to see. if they

work

or if they are just a dud and I hope I'm all over this video but I'm

actually

allergic to some cats and there's no way to know which ones until I start to react so if I suddenly disappear it's because my eyes started to itch and teared up and went home to take a shower. I'm taking histamine. You technically can't be allergic to kittens, but I'm not sure how true that is for someone who is very, very allergic. Kittens don't have dandruff.

More Interesting Facts About,

do these cat hacks actually work...

They don't shed, so most allergy sufferers can at least handle kittens as long as they haven't been around a mother cat or an adult cat. Now these two were

actually

foster kittens, they were adopted and rescued through a company or organization called pods for life, which is a no-kill organization that I encouraged to adopt, hopefully, because these guys were raised by humans, they were saved and then raised by my sister who is a wildlife conservationist which makes things great they shouldn't make Nate allergic but this is the bad way to prove it because I wanted to make this video here goes dad , but he's allergic, so we got engaged and we have cats.

I think what we're going to have to do is Nate and I will put these tricks together and then let them run around while that happens and then we'll take them back to the table to try things out because they don't want to be in one place. It is a large studio. There are many new smells. You have to work with me. Sally. Good job so the Home Hackers Channel has posted a video on the cat hack to save you money. Domestic hackers. I love this idea so I want to see if they work on kittens so that's our plan today so I have a few different cat tricks that I want. to try together with two others not necessarily tricks, but small experiments that I want to try with the kittens and we will see if it works.

For starters, Nate, on your side, you have some paper bags. I want to see if they can. find out what they're for, so in this video I watched they were talking about the fact that they bought these catnip scented paper bags and they were like, yeah, you can buy paper bags with catnip in them, you're basically buying junk, so, because? Don't use a paper bag from the grocery store, reuse it, spray it with catnip mist and see if it works the same way. I probably spent more money than necessary on this experiment because the store I went to didn't have paper bags at the checkout.
So these are indeed gift bags, but they should work the same way. Well, I'll be honest, I don't smell anything, nothing smells like a paper bag, but it's supposed to be like the wind is moving or scratching or something, so maybe you have. It doesn't wear out with every touch, it's a scratch and sniff bag, not the other problem is the fact that yes, some cats don't particularly like catnip. Nate was saying that I've already tried and tested these, no. It always works just as well with kittens, but so far so good, so let's see what you guys think.
Well, the bags. Jack. Well, Sally has a preference that she didn't take at all. What if she only put one in this one? Yeah, is it just a bag or do you like it? the smell more, can't say there are too many things going on, side by side comparison, which one is good now she likes that bag. I think the bottom line here is anything to do with cardboard, cats are an exception and stay that way almost as long as Jack does. I don't care, king of chance, now Animal Planet. I'd say Sally has a definite preference.
There are too many things happening. This is a completely new environment for them. We are making a video on YouTube. Did you know we are working right now? Okay, okay. I got it, that's it, Jack, your turn, take it, take it, take it, take it, take it, take it, pick it again, the point is much more interesting than the cabinet, so I think they like the smell of catnip, but they are not obsessive. interested with the smell of catnip no and again kittens it doesn't work the same until they reach six months they are almost there I would say they are both more interested in this bag of braids yes it's not a big difference no but I think They have spent more time in the gift bag than in the cabinet bag given the fact that they are in a new environment, they are over stimulated, there is a lot going on, obviously they are not in a hurry if they were.
I want this video made, they are happy that they are having a good time. I would say yes, they have absolutely spent the most time in the spray bag so far. If you work with animals, you would call this enrichment. It's something that keeps them entertained if necessary. Go run errands if you're not home during the day. I'm going to say this is a win. I see that it is an absolute victory. Okay, next time, the idea here is that you pick it up and make some holes that are there. big enough for their paws to go through or pull out a toy, cut some holes if there are sharp edges, take some tape and just smooth the edges and then fill them with toys, catnip treats, give them something to do, oh yeah. something like a Kong ball for a dog, some treats in there and they said go crazy, well okay let's see what you think what color is everywhere with this.
I'll be honest, this is one of the ones I was. more skeptical about, oh my gosh, is finding out. I looked at this and thought there's no way this is going to entertain you, so Mark and I are in the bathroom, we want to see if, without other distractions, this is still interesting. for them, so let's see if we can guide them when they smell it. They are interested. They are curious. He's been groping him. If we leave it alone long enough. I absolutely think this would work, so I wouldn't leave it out. when the guests came over, but yeah, I'll probably use this later as they like it, it gives them something to do.
Well, I want you to guess what we're doing. Those three objects are another cat toy. It is another toy for cats. There are many. cat toy stuff in this tricks video, but at the same time the categories are really very expensive like a pack of this and they give you five six dollars and considering the fact that your cats will lose them all over your house or get They will eat them. I'm not sure buying five dollars worth of toys every week is a lot, the idea is to make a mouse so you take a sock and fill it with catnip so this is my concern so what would you have to have and is this supposed to? to be like a mouse's tail and you cut off that part you give it googly eyes if you want to be like a mouse, that's a mouse, okay guys, I'm not going to lie, it just seems like something they told me about, but let's see what they think that test one is going well, well, it's killing it.
I'm going to consider catnip a success as far as functionality goes, this one doesn't pass in my opinion. I'm going to say that I wouldn't use pipe cleaners. I am very I am very worried that this little sharp edge will hurt them and I am worried that they will separate it and make a giant mess in my apartment. Cats enjoy scratching things and if you have designated things for them to scratch, they are less likely to grab your furniture. Let's see if we can use some cardboard to make something that's pretty much the same as this, but making it ourselves instead of buying it to see if, oh, is that a good way to recycle cardboard or isn't it worth the trouble? grief? effort we have a cardboard box, I just opened it up and we're going to start cutting some strips of the cardboard that Nate has been cutting for over ten minutes, it's not even right, it's a little more than half as wide as this.
As far as time conservation goes, if I look at time versus cost, I don't want to spend fifteen minutes cutting out pieces of cardboard when it costs less than three dollars. I don't think you can get just one cat to scratch things, so whether or not Jack goes for something right now is fine, we'll see what it smells, it smells interesting, interesting, this has fresh catnip, while this one has the spray, like this that not even a little bit of inches, okay, okay, yeah, not in the I'm in the mood to scratch right now, so more than half an hour versus less than three dollars.
I'm going to call this a failure. I'm going to say that I wouldn't want this in my house and my cat doesn't seem interested in it like that, at least not at the moment, yeah, cats are cats, cats are cats, last one we have the pumpkin pie filling, It is 100% pumpkin puree. I did a lot of research after seeing that this was apparently one of the recommended things. pumpkins good for dogs and cats in small quantities. I'm not sure cats like pumpkin. He says they should mash it up with their food, but I can't imagine a cat would like it, so I'm going to put some on a plate.
See what they think, do it, do it, smell a lot, okay, good sign, lick, okay. I had my bad word about that goodbye, like yeah, maybe the vitamins in it are good for him, but I think what you're ending up with is a lot. of wasted food now you have soft food on your plate possible if you're hungry guys go ahead maybe you're just not in the mood to eat right now it could work maybe I think it would work I absolutely have my doubts how is it? it worked today you know there's a lot of this video any excuse to watch cute cats an adorable video online showed cats versus clean cats wrapped over a door frame doesn't hurt the cats they were entertained it seemed like no one seemed distressed but they couldn't They didn't understand what It was the cleaning wrapper and they couldn't figure out that they could just jump on it, so we want to see what kitties are around.
Okay, I'll be here to be less distracted. Sally is determined that it's over. filmed today she is the opposite of a diva, let's see, this is absolutely something you wouldn't do if you left them unsupervised, this is simply something to do as entertainment for the Vosges, they honestly don't know how to jump. Uh oh, there you have it, are you smarter than adult cats? What's happening on this side? Smaller cats, well, versus saran-wrap, it's my new favorite thing in the world. Wow Thunder, hello, welcome to the party. Well, I'm going to go ahead and say. Guys, my cats are smart enough to overcome the saran-wrap challenge.
However, it is very entertaining. There is exactly one more challenge that I want to try because it is on the Internet, so this is what I have seen on YouTube. distract them, you leave it and while you're doing it you put this object right next to them or under them, it's a cucumber and you back away, hopefully, it looks in the right direction hmm, terrified, it's startled, be afraid, not really because I like it . You jump startled. I have strange cats. They overcame the saran-wrap challenge and they like it. I know so I can keep terrifying the kids and get them into the studio, guys, that's not all, you know, we always have more for you to see.
